[Q] gapps fc a lot

I have a 3G xoom not rooted and full stock 3.1. I have tried to find a fix for this but everything I found talked about Rom and rooting so I know that's not what caused this. Does anyone else have this issue or know a fix?
OK I found that the gapp FC only happens if I have bookmarks sync checked. So something with syncing my chrome bookmarks does it.
So after deleting a lot of bookmarks the FC issue is gone. That or i had to many folders organizing my bookmarks. Seems gapps can only sync so many before it freaks and FCs.

Can you tell us a bit more? Does it fc after you do something in particular? Did you recently install an app before the fc problem...that type of thing...

It happens only when bookmark sync is checked. it pulls some bookmarkets but not all. Im going to clean out my bookmarks have a bunch for work and what not ill see if that helps.

Installed and booted fine, seems to be working all good!
Now to dig through it and see whats working and whats not haha
Not found anything that does not work yet... but then again Im probably not testing things that other people ma use.
MMS is working for me no problems, I have installed many many games/app's and they are all working.
Comes with Nokia Camera Extras/contact share already installed.
I installed Nokia Drive no problems.
If anyone wants me to test something specific, let me know.

Ok, one thing thats anoying me slightly, is that I cant get it to sync with Facebook in Settings/accounts...
just errors when I enter the password.. hmmmmmm

Yeah the app works, but I want all my facebook contacts/numbers etc to sync together haha

Has this issue been resolved? I'd love to test this ROM out and Focus 1.4 gets so few ROMs anyway.
Another important feature for me is the option of "Static IP". Can the OP confirm its availability?

The Static IP option in the Wi-Fi section is there matey.
Not sure on the FB issue though, I cant see any later versions of anything :s

Didnt seem to work for me, I get the same oops error.
I take it by this you mean go to people hub, then open bottom menu/Settings then click Add facebook?

I am not sure what it means, since I don't have the ROM installed. I am waiting for this sync issue to be sorted out; it's a deal-breaker for me.
Even I understood it the same as you, perhaps you're in a better position to understand the discussion in that thread (link). Check out the last post in that page.

[Q] "people details" fails to sync

Hi!
My HTC One X can't finish syncing "People details" under my google account..
This results in a 4hr battery life..
Did factory reset #15+ and skipped all settings and then created a temporary Gmail account and that works flawlessly...
Everything works with my account until the Google Play Services updates and the "People details" is included it fails..
So there's something seriously wrong with my Gmail account..
So how do I reset it so my People Details sync start to work again?
Any idea what it's trying to sync with people details?
Since I've bought lots of apps and have tens of thousands of "followers" on G+
due to my hobby, deleting the account is not a solution...
What do I do??
Hope someone here at XDA can help me...
Google doesn't seem to offer any help at all unfortunately...

Checked my Transformer and it does the same thing...
People details haven't synced since the 15th of may.. :crying:

I've been having the same problem on my CM 10.1 RC 5 Galaxy Nexus (toro). Definitely destroys my battery w/ constantly trying to sync. I just turned it off - i will report if there are any adverse effects that I notice, but a quick check by changing a contact ensures those are still syncing.

You can switch it off without any issues..
Haven't noticed any anyway...
What's a bit strange is that this error actually follows you account and not your device..
I can reproduce it on any android device...
I.e. it's my frickin' account...
The best part is that if you contact Google Play support, which seems to be right right place
since People Details comes with Google Play services, they tell you to contact Google Plus Support..
Which gives you the following issues:
1: you can't contact anyone since they don't have a support site which actually puts you in contact with someone alive/breathing
2:Google+ Help on Google plus tells you to contact, yup, you guessed it.. Google Play services..
3: Why just says they can't help since it's a Plus issue and that they only handle refunds... ?
If you want to contact Google Play services
you can do so on [email protected]...
My xase number is [1-1048000001201] if it helps..

Nope.. Nothing you do will help actually...
'Cause it's a bug in People Details sync adapter according to Google+ Help..
After spending a lot of time with Google+ help I was asked send in bugreports
from my devices and just a few days after that I got this reply
Our engineering teams were able to find the issue by using the reports you sent along.
They will fix this in the next release, which should be in the next few weeks.
They did tell us to pass along their thanks for bringing this issue to our attention!

I then asked if they could perhaps be a bit more precise in what the error was but then
ît got all silent...
I still recommend you to contact Google+ help and push them to fix it..
It's just to post a message to Google+ Help on G+...
If it helps you can just mention you have the same issue as "Per Ardne",
they can find our conversations...

Galaxy Note II here using Carbon ROM 1.7 and facing this same issue, but not facing battery drain.
The last time it was synchronized here was July 18 at 10:11 AM, and the white sync symbol persists there, but it never spins, it's just there stopped. And I don't think it's trying to sync over the day.
Even after disabling and enabling it again, it does not updates and the white sync symbol stays there, although stopped, forever...

same problem here too on the Galaxy S4 GE. Hope they fix it soon.

Working for me again. I flashed and tested 4.3 on my Nexus 4. After that, it was also working on 4.2.2 again.

[Q] Browser problems after CROMi-X 4.7 upgrade

Hey all,
1st post here and needing advice/help. Have been using CROMi-X for 2 months now and keeping up with updates/patches. Its great and was eager to use 4.7 when it came out. Installed/flashed with no problems from 4.6.9 but now when I use the stock browser, no bookmarks/settings are saved after any reboots/shutdowns. Have reinstalled 4.7 after making sure cache and dalvik were wiped as well and still same problem.
Any one else running into this? Suggestions on what I should do, or how I fix this??

Hi, I use an app called bookmark folders, and it solved my problem of loosing bookmarks and settings.

Like I said to you before - never seen such an issue. Usually the browser sync backs everything up and then restores it - is the sync working in settings - accounts - google?

Everything except for browser. Don't know why that won't sync.

Does it have the little sync mark stuck next to it? Do you have a PC with chrome? Add a bookmark to it to see if it gets going again.

It does have that sync error. I do have a PC with chrome. I've reset the Google Dashboard, reset the sync passphrase, signed in/out, nothing changes. Added a bookmark while signed in on the PC, still nothing affecting the tablet. Also, installed chrome on the tablet, tried signing in, and it recognizes my gmail account, but constantly says the sync passphrase is WRONG on the tablet, despite resetting it multiple times.
UPDATE!!! - As I was waiting the 5 minutes between posts b/c I'm a newbie, I reset everything out of chrome on tablet and PC. Reset sync passphrase. Logged in tablet 1st. Then logged in PC, did sync everyything, now all is working on the tablet!!! AWESOME...
So glad this is resolved!
Appreciate the help. FYI - it wasn't working like this pre 4.7.0. I never synced with Chrome. All tablet bookmarks just saved on Local but would persist after reboots/shutdowns. Reinstalled 4.7.0 last night after a format and factory reset, now it works like it did on 4.6.9.

I love it :highfive: but one problem is the weird browser, you cannot see anything on it... it's "black screen on websites" you cannot sign in google without bypass the account asking you to sign in but impossible for me to see, I did installed the firefox and it work fine but the default browser not work at all and I can't get in my account without it for Gmail, play store, etc... you know I mean?
I hope anyone can fix it for that: bugs found in

I totally forgot to tell ya, I already did reformat and reinstalled the ROM and still same problem... any idea how to fix that stupid "weird browser" that I cannot see anything on that webpage... also I already try others websites and same as google.com so... what I do?

UPDATE: "Band-aid" ---> I did tested, very weird but work for now but you have to turn off the "2-step verification" to make it work without get into that stupid black webpage and you can get in your own account. <--- "Band-aid" for now... But we know we do not like to turn off the "2-step verification"... so somehow I need to know how to replace that browser with push in the ADB???

I think it's failing to having full work... Almost it is 5% but that browser need to be fix ASAP...

Almost all 4.4 Custom roms of older devices has Black boxes problems, this bug is a breakage in the new chromium based webkit and is in any app that makes use of it. The chrome browser works fine as a replacement. You need to modify the rom to fix this but i don't recommend this, you should wait till the developer fix it.

UPDATE:
I already replaced the default browser with newly updated browser, manually install by push ADB... but same as before Also I find out that other more than just one bug but weird when I turn on the Tethering & portable hotspot, I did tested by my laptop and tablet, it's said connected but no internet... I already checked on my phone said it's on internet and supposed to be work... "E" or "3G" or "H" on my phone but mostly time on "H" at full bars still no internet on Tethering & portable hotspot but itself phone can access internet with firefox... it's work fine... but still having bugs...
