Incipio Silicrylic Case - Verizon Droid Charge

Well I think Incipio now has the perfect case. Initially what drew most people away from the Incipio was the lack of a cutout for the HDMI port. I decided that I liked the design and amount of protection of the Silicrylic and that the covered HDMI port didn't bother me so I decided to order one off of ebay.
It just came in today and when I opened it up, it had the cutout for the HDMI port. So apparently Incipio must have recently redesigned the case and I must have gotten one of the newer ones.
I put the case on the phone and it is perfect IMO. I love the fit and there is nothing about it that I would change. I went with the Gray/White one. I can try and get some pics up at some point.

Yep. I went with the black/black. I got it yesterday. I love it, except my HDMI is blocked. Maybe I got an older version.

Ah, that kinda sucks. Even with the HDMI port blocked the case is awesome. I guess I must have got a very recent release. Where did you order yours from?
I actually ordered it from a store on ebay and something got screwed up with the shipping so they refunded the money and said they would send me one for free when they got them back in from their vendor. So I actually didn't expect to get one since they cancelled the transaction and refunded my money so I ordered another one from someone else.
Then when I got home from work today it was sitting in our mailbox from the first company. So I have another one coming in pretty soon (still the gray/white) that I will probably sell. I wonder if the other one that is supposed to come in will have the port cut out or not.

I got mine from Amazon. They had them cheaper than I could find anywhere else.

Thanks a lot for this post. I am going to order another one. I love my Trident Cyclops but it is a little bulky for my needs. I had the silicrylic case when it was first released and sent it right back. Now that they revised it with an hdmi cutout this case has a lot more potential.

No problem. Like I said, I think this now is the perfect case (unless you truly need something where you can throw it off a building and survive).

It looks like a small cutout, can you actually open it up enough to fit the cable in? Also where did you buy it from? I am looking to order one soon.

Yes the door opens and it looks like there is plenty of room to get a cable in there since the connector doesn't look any bigger than the usb connection but I don't have a cable to try.
Here is a pic with the door open:
I got it from these guys on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/cellularboys/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1
I am not sure if they got any more in to put on their ebay store yet, but they obviously sent me mine. I would definitely recommend them because they made sure to make it right for me even though it was a shipping screw up. The part number on the package is SA-149. I am not sure if they would have created a new number for the ones with the cutout or not though.

They have none in stock but I am going to look around tomorrow. Thanks again.

I got one of these cases in the mail yesterday that I ordered directly from their website thinking that way I would get the latest version. The one they sent me has no HDMI port hole.......
I'm not thrilled with the case as it collects pocket lint just as badly as my otterbox commuter does.
I guess I will keep using the shiny black silicone case I got from VZ. That collects no lint at all and it also easier to take on/off for battery swaps.

Sorry to hear that. The second case that I ordered was the one with the HDMI port covered as well. So I must have got pretty lucky with the redesigned one. I don't notice it collecting lint at all, but that may be because the silicone part is white so it may just hide it.

Mine doesn't collect lint either. Maybe you have dirty pockets however the back portion is collecting fingernail scratches like crazy.

LOL, yea maybe that's the problem but the only case I have that doesn't collect lint AT ALL is the hard shiny black silicone case I got right from VZ.
That is also the easiest case to get on/off to swap batteries.
I have the incipio and an otterbox commuter & I love both of them, but they both collect lint which drives me nuts.......

Ordered my Otter Box Commuter Case!

So last night I noticed on the AT&T Premier site the Otter Box commuter case no longer said out of stock. So I went ahead added it to my cart and completed my order! Got the confirmation email and tracking number today! It's due to be here Monday! On the Otter Box site it's still not available. So if anyone has been waiting on an email notifying them that they are ready, just log onto AT&T's accessories site and it should be there. The only one available was the Blue/Black color but the Blue is dark and doesn't look half bad in the pictures. I'll update the post with pictures as soon as it gets here!

I already got mine .. ordered it from my local AT&T store, only difference is, you paid $40 for it .. I paid $34, I complained that the AT&T version was more than Otterbox sells for and also removes the included screen protector that comes with the official Otterbox version.
So .. $34 with free shipping, I got it 2 days later via FedEx .. excellent case, I got the Black Plastic / Night Blue Slip Cover version.

Can you post pics of the case with the phone? I've been waiting for this case. Just not sure on the color.
If he doesn't, I'll be posting pics as soon as I get it in on Monday!
I actually have the commuter Otter box, picked it up last Thursday. Its also the blue/black one. Dunno what's up with this blue/black - why? Why not just offer black/black? Prolly returning it. I will say it provides robust protection for your skyrocket. If you happen to have slippery fingers, this should keep it safe and sound so long as the screen doesn't get struck directly. Here's a link to some pictures (they stink but i tried).

Is it flushed at the back? And can you take a pic with the case on its side, with the SR beside it? I would like to see the difference in thickness, when they are next to each other.
Got the commuter today also. But having a issue with the silicone ending before the plastic on the back. Which is giving me camera flash issues. Besides that its a nice case.

I picked up a Defender case from AT&T two nights ago and the silicone wouldn't fit completely around the hard plastic inside case. AT&T had no more to exchange for, so I called Otterbox but they said they can't warranty it as they don't officially sell it yet, so I had to return it.

Kensington's keyfolio for iPads works, a little tight though (borrowed a friend's case).
Just ran across the following;

This is the one I purchased a little while back - I got it for $20.00 - Amazon Prime free 2 day shipping.
Love the damned thing - if you can find it anywhere else around that price, I would jump on it - it's a great quality product for that price.

Good news, it arrived today. Bad news, I sent it back for a refund.
Initially I was OK with it. The build quality wasn't as good as a Kensington keyfolio, but for $34 plus shipping I wasn't going to complain too much. The keyboard paired fine and most of the special top keys worked (4th and 5th key did nothing). However when the elastic strap came loose from low quality stitching after around 6 times closing the case, I decided to return it. I exerted no more force than necessary to stretch the strap around the cover.
Now that I've compared it with the Kensington case, I can definitely say the Kensington is well worth the extra cost. This is disappointing since this is the only keyboard+case with "HP Touchpad" in the product description I'm aware of.

PROs:
Better fit for the Touchpad that the Kensington cases. See this threadhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17133290 where I tried out the Kensington case.
Hard plastic keys versus rubber keys on the Kensington case. That said, apparently the newer Kensington cases have hard plastic keys. Rubber keyboards may not bother some, but I find them hard to use.
CONs:
Even with rubber keys, the Kensington keyboard is rigid and sturdy. The Goldx keyboard is disturbing non-rigid, even flimsy. I'm also concerned how it will wear over time. As you can see from the pictures, there is so much gap between keys you can actually see under them. It is a magnet for crumbs/etc getting under the keys. (Hey, everyone likes to eat crackers and type, right?)
Stitching. The reason I returned it, and severely lacking compared to the Kensington. Look at the pics and judge for your self.
Unless you tilt the screen all the way up, the "grips" that hold the bottom of the pad aren't sufficient to keep it from slipping forward and onto the keyboard from the least bit of vibration, such as someone bumping the table. The rigid keyboard on the Kensington does an excellent job holding it it place.
Conclusion:
Not worth the money. After I get the refund, I'll look at getting a Kensington case with hard keys. Barnes and Nobles has one for $53, and as long as they are prompt with the refund I'll give them another chance. Of course, I'll be back to the tight case problem. My sister is a good seamstress, and I'll see If I can get her to adjust it to better fit the Touchpad.
Wish me luck.

Great review although sorry product didn't work out. I ordered one of these to try: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004DXGOA0/ref=pe_175190_21431760_C1_cs_sce_3p_dp_1
The dimensions between the ipad 1 and the touchpad are within a couple of mm at most and any case should have enough give to handle it. I'll report back after receiving it.
Thanks for your review and I'm sorry it didn't work out It would be amazing if we could get a case like the clam case for the ipad (http://clamcase.com/bluetooth-ipad-keyboard-case.html). Out of curiousity, would the touchpad fit in a zaggfolio?

This in fact was the exact keyboard I got down to the paper insert in the review being the same. Very pleased with it for $25 shipped.
just wanted to mention that you guys could consider the aluminium keyboard cases for ipad 1 such as http://chinagrabber.com/ipad-blueto...keyboard-aluminum-case-holder--icase-467.aspx
I picked one up while I was over in taiwan last month (not the one linked, but similiar) and it seems to fix/work. But as mentioned the product I picked up isn't the one I linked, I actually don't know the name of the case I got, it was from a night market stall and written in chinese (I can't read it :S) and I think it was a knock off of a case. It might be because it's a knockoff and not properly fitted to the ipad 1 but it fit my touchpad :S. I did have to put in a little extra padding around the corners (afraid it would fall out if it was too lose :S).
Not promising it would fit, and it is expensive but maybe try looking into something similiar? I haven't bought from that site either and can't verify the trustworthiness of it, but just linked it to give you guys an idea of what I was talking about.
All of the aluminum cases are really expensive though I don't want to buy one just to experiment, and I can't justify the price either way. If anyone has a case with a keyboard they would recommend, please do, I would highly appreciate it!!

No problem. I have the Spigen case so I can't say much about the Case Mate one. The opening for the camera on the Spigen sticks out a bit more so it offers some protection to the lens.
There's a trade off between the two. The case mate fits better but you lose out on lens protection. There's a small gap on the top left and right when I have the Spigen on the phone and the cutout for the flash is misaligned but the case feels really good in your hands and the flash doesn't seem to be affected.
Another option is this which is similar to the case mate.

On a side note: Having to wait 2 minutes before I can edit my post is really lame...

I've been using this for about a week now and am quite happy with it. I used Nillkin minimal cases on my last 2 phones and this one seems to offer A LITTLE bit more coverage. More than the Case-Mate as well. The edges don.t raise higher than the screen though so a screen protector is a must (one comes with it). Ill share pics if youd like.

Thanks stnguyen, looks like you got the case mate for a while now, are you happy so far?
Also, this might be a though question to answer, but do you folks by any chance know of a leader case that might fit the HOX while wearing one of these hardshells?
Think I'm gonna get the Incipio Feather since it gives the best edge protection and it also seems to be made of the same (kinda) material as the C740, which has a really nice feel to it.
Btw, some additional options I found (sorry, not allowed to post links):
* Krusell ColorCover (not enough edge protection)
* Twins Shield Mesh (not enough edge protection and I don't know about the material)
Imo the best slim hard case is the Amzer shellster. I have that and the barely there. They are almost exactly the same except the shellster covers the camera very nicely. Lemme know if you want pics

Hi. I'm searching for something like the C740 but for the One X. I know about the Rock Quicksand, but sadly, this isn't available in Austria.
Any ideas? thanks much

There's the C704 and C700 from HTC for the HOX

Thanks stnguyen, looks like you got the case mate for a while now, are you happy so far?
Also, this might be a though question to answer, but do you folks by any chance know of a leader case that might fit the HOX while wearing one of these hardshells?

I'm happy with it. I kinda forget it on there half the time. I haven't dropped my phone or anything so I can't comment on impact resistance.

Think I'm gonna get the Incipio Feather since it gives the best edge protection and it also seems to be made of the same (kinda) material as the C740, which has a really nice feel to it.

Stay away from the Incipio Feather. Here is what they claim the cutout for the USB port looks like:

This is NOT what the actual case look slike. There is a little strip of plastic running at the top of the USB port cutout which prevents the USB cable from securely plugging into the port.
This is a real PITA and a shame, I am sending the case back to Incipio. I can't understand why the actual design does not match what they sent me, I just ordered a week ago. Perhaps they are selling off old stock, buyer beware!
None of my plugs have a problem snapping into place.
Does anybody know if the spigen case in white matches the white on the HOX? Reason I ask is because I have the white speck case, and it doesn't match at all so I never use it. It's just one of those things that bother me...

Matches very well.
You kinda sound like me. While the color of the Spigen case looks close to the white on the HOX, the fitment isn't great. It bugs me and I know it'll bug you. Lol.

False info here the cutouts are fine and work perfectly. This case is my daily driver and I love it.

Element Case

http://www.elementcase.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S4-s/161.htm
They just released these cases for S4s. I want to see if the "sound boost" actually works.
Damn i really wanted this case on the S3, but I never got it since the S4 was about to come out. Damn I really want it, but $80?

Yeah same here. They don't ship until the 27th so I'm gonna decide if I want to get one in the next couple days. I hope they put up a video showing it off soon. I saw a video on how their cases are built and they do seem worth the price.
I bought the silver and black eclipse for my s3 and didnt like it. I was going to exchange it for the black at first but changed my mind and got a refund. Now that I have the S4 I thought about getting the eclipse, but like you said $80 is a lot. To be honest I wasnt all that impressed with it while I had it. The sound boost did work, but other than that I didnt like it all that much. Now if they ever released a white one like they originally showed for the S3 then I might spring for the $80.
My favorite case of ALL the phones I have ever had is my Spigen SGP Neo Hybrid. I might get another color soon. I have the white one now. Im hoping they actually start selling the trim separately so the cases with actually have customizable frames as claimed.

Ordered my Eclipse case today. They take returns, so I figured I would give it a shot. I loved their cases when I had an iPhone 5. I wish they made an all aluminum bumper like the Sector 5 though. If I don't end up liking this, I may purchase the Draco bumper which was also released today.
I ended up getting the black with silver bezel for my black S4. What didn't you like about the silver bezel? Did you have the white S3? I think the silver will look better on the black.
The Element case prices aren't horrible since you can use the 10% coupon when you register but the shipping stinks at $12 to $20.
$20 overnight means overnight from when they decide to ship it. They say June 27th but if it doesn't ship until a week after that they won't credit you anything.
$12 for 5 day shipping stinks even more.
They could/should just offer $6 3 day USPS like everyone else.

To me the silver didn't match, and it looked like it was spray painted. And yes I have the white s3, and white s4. I'm going to look at that Draco case for the S4 that you mentioned now.
Wow those Draco cases are awesome, but a $100 for a case that's pretty steep.

I hope I like it. I was having a tough time deciding between the black and silver bezel. I knew I wanted the black TPU. I didn't like how the black bezel looks glossy though. And I think the silver will stand out and look better on the black. Their pictures make the silver look matter and looks good on the black S4.
How were the buttons on the S3 version?

The buttons were little bit stiff, not as bad as some hard TPU cases.
Had it on my GS3 and loved it. I bought it on fleabay from an authorized distributor who sold it at MSRP but provided free shipping.

I guess I will go dig around for $80.
Just ordered the silver on black for my S4. I will get back to yall once I get it. So far I've had an Incase Slider(Trash), Spigen Neo Hybrid(Like it but I dropped it once and the right corner has a small knick), UAG(which I'm using right now. I have no issues. I think the case is perfect, and it felt a lot thinner than my Spigen.) Hopefully this eclipse case will impress me. It will be my first Element Case.
Do they work with glass screen protectors?

Spigen products are alright but their customer service is stupid. I ordered a 37$ flip case from them. The stock photos showed the credit card slot going horizontal. When I had gotten it in the mail it was vertical. It wasn't that much of an issue so I just sent a ticket in. About 4 days after I submitted my ticket they sent me one back but they changed the stock photos and they told me that they didn't know what I was talking about. They are super shady so I would watch out.

I sure hope so. I got glas.tr installed on my s4. Hopefully it will be okay. I'll get back to you once I receive the case.

Yeah I've got a glas.tr installed too. I asked them about it on Facebook and they should it should work but wouldn't guarantee it.
I got overnight shipping on my Eclipse, so I'll post right away if it doesn't fit as well.
Should hopefully be shipping today. If it does, I should have it tomorrow. Who knows though, these dates tend to shift often.

The case adds very little to the over all size. It does weight more but feels solid. You actually remove the battery cover and replace it with the carbon fiber texture back battery cover. Again the nicest case Ive ever seen for any phone. I get people asking all the time what phone I have and half the time they have an S4. I started they strangers I got the limited edition S4 lol:silly:

I had an EVO 4g and believe me or not my son use it as his tablet (his 7) to this day. I loved that phone but most of the phone case for the S4 with kick stands look and feel cheap and plastic. For work I spend a lot of time selling in and out of offices ( the truth is I like looking right/good, House looking right, car looking right, watch looking right, glasses/sun glasses looking right, hair looking right and of course my phone GOT to be looking right) This case adds little to the size of the phone and it gets rid of the plastic look and feel because usually I rock the phone naked. Phone is in my hand now,"I feel Glass, Metal and carbon fiber (most likely fake)"= awesome. I know what your saying but this case look and feels FU%*ing right lol. Im not joking people ask me so much "what phone do you have" that now I tell them I got a limited edition S4 and they believe me.
I do hate how cheap our phone feels compared to the aluminum of the htcs. Case im usin now is just more plastic and im not really a fan of otterbox

I haven't noticed any signal lose, I still get one bar at my moms house. I had a metal bumper case from eBay before this one and didn't have a problem with that one either. If i remember right the antenna isn't in the frame/edge of the phone like an iPhone.
