I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 (UK) and the headphone socket has 3 Poles 3.5mm as it deals with Video as well, from what I've been told on DarkysRom forums standard headphones won't work, mine don't, but the Stock 3 Pole ones work fine,
Ive had trouble with Adaptors , but the one I got from Amazon didn't work at all, and the seller quickly took the SGS I9000 off the list of compatible adaptors.
I'm desperately seeking info concerning AUDIO LEFT RIGHT Output from the MICRO USB SOCKET as well as the Headphone Video Out socket.
I need 2 Audio paired outputs for a DJ Software project. 1 for Headphone queing and 1 for amplification (through a HI-FI Amplifier).
Anyone still making CUSTOM HEADPHONE LEADS ?? Or any links?

Ok....I've fought with finding an adapter to go from 2.5mm to 3.5mm for ages now. Everything I've read indicates it needs to be 4 pole etc etc....I'm aware of that. However, every one I've tried is still producing mono output. For kicks, I've tried the following ALL with mono results:
-Blackberry Pearl stereo headset
-RadioShack catalog #274-004 3/32" to 1/8" Stereo Headset adapter (why wouldn't this work?)
-Just Wireless 08351 Stereo Adapter 2.5mm to 3.5mm from (Target/BestBuy)
-BodyGlove Stereo Sport Headset 7489401 (BestBuy)
Now, when I say these produce mono output, what I'm really saying is that there is only one channel of audio whatsoever...the other earpiece is totally silent.
Anyone had any luck finding something at a retailer without ordering online? I'll order if I have too though. Thanks.
Derek
here ya go:

remeber google is your friend!
(btw, this is a 4 pole connector, the reason why all they othere ones youve tried doesnt work is cause they were three poled and the contacts dont match up)
The specs on this RadioShack adapter is specifically 4 pole....I checked that first. In fact, the packaging description reads:
"Turns a 3/32" 4-pole wireless phone headset jack into a 1/8" stereo headphone jack"
Check this link and you'll see what I'm talking about: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2603246&cp
I knew it needed to be 4 pole, and that's what I'm saying...every supposed 4 pole adapter I've tried hasn't worked.
Any other ideas?
NOTE: Also note I said I tried the Blackberry Pearl headset, which is also a 4 pole headset jack on taht phone so theoretically that headset should have worked perfectly.
i used to work at radioshack and i can tell you they dont carry any adapters that work with smartphones, i cant tell how many customers came in looking for the same thing.. the adapter on ebay works its just like the one i have
The problem is simple. Look at the base of the 2.5mm jack on the headphones that came with your phone, then look at the base of the 2.5mm jack on the adapter. You will notice that the base of the adapter is way bigger than those on the headphones and this prevents you from pushing the adaptor as far in the hole as it needs to be.
Stupid idiots at The Source were trying to tell me that it wouldn't work because of voltage...
Anyways, when buying an adapter, just make sure that the base of the 2.5mm is small enough so that it'll fit into the recessed 2.5mm in your phone. It is okay if it's just the three pin plug, it will still be in stereo.
Hi
I wanted to buy a mini-usb to 3.5mm audio adapter for Zinc-ii phone so that I can use my regular headset for listening songs. I couldn't find a mini-usb adapter for Zinc-ii but I got one generalized adapter (mini-usb to 3.5mm audio). When I attached the adapter to Zinc-ii, it is not routing the audio through the adapter. It triggered the activesync tool first time and it failed for obvious reason because it is a 3.5mm adapter not a computer.
1. Is there any setting which I have to do for routing the audio through the adapter?
2. Is there a place where I can buy a 3.5mm audio adapter if there is a special one for zinc-ii? The headset came with the device is working perfectly fine.
Thanks
i made myself a cable using the original zinc2 headphones get a solder ,wires and 3.5 plug dats it ... or i cud sell mine for lets say 10 gbp + delivery ... i got htc now
Thanks. I will settle for Acoustic Research bluetooth minibridge available in circuitycity website selling for $20
I've been using a Motorola for the past 2 years and upgraded to a faster dual core (Huawei Ascend P1 LTE U9202L), and faster quad core (Blu Quattro HD 4.5 D450) - both run on ICS 4.0.4, stock ROM (but rooted), but both have the same problem with the 3.5mm stereo jack. I did not have this issue with my previous phones and have no idea why the behavior is so dysfunctional. On both devices, plugging in the 3.5mm aux jack into my stereo does not work. It does not detect as a headset and just outputs through the phone speaker. However, on both devices, plugging in ANY headset, and the phones detect and output audio appropriately.
However, plugging in a 3.5mm aux cable into a car stereo does not work at all. It won't even show the headset icon in the status bar. I've used several cables, in several different cars, but all no love, while iphones and other phones in the house work just fine. This is with both 3 conductor and 4 conductor stereo cables. With the Blu Quattro however, I found a setting in Sound called "Hi-Fi Mode" which enables the phone to specifically output audio through the 3.5mm jack to an external stereo system. If I plug in the aux cable to my car, nothing goes. Enable Hi-Fi Mode, and then I magically get audio output.
What in the hell is Hi-Fi mode and is that something standard to ICS? Is there a software fix where I can just plug in the stereo aux cable like every other normal phone out there, and have it automatically output properly instead of enabling this funky Hi-Fi mode? It's really annoying because I need to use this device for work as well where we sometimes use the Square Reader. That thing won't even detect on either phone!
At the moment, I'm considering buying one of those USB to 3.5mm jack dongles that I've seen phones come with, that don't have a 3.5mm jack. In the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.
Many Thanks in Advance,
Chuck
Hello everyone,
The Jiayu S3 is my daily driver for like 2 and a half year now. Sadly enough, my 3.5mm headphone jack stopped working previous week. This is quite a bummer since I listen to music on my phone all the time.
I did some diagnosis and I concluded that my 3.5mm headphone jack is broken / doesn't connect well with the headset anymore, causing my music player to skip tracks or pause when you touch the headphone jack.
Since I don't want to purchase another phone (yet) I searched for an alternative solution. I found this cable on the internet:
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/Micr...lgo_pvid=23ef89fa-7a24-45ee-bb9d-e92e877bfe05
Does anyone know if this cable will work with my Jiayu S3, or did somebody ever try this out?
AS far as i know, this is not supported
Can't you just buy an SMD jack, and ask in a store to soldered it?
it's not that hard ...
Or, you could try using some nice BT headphones ?
Cant find info with google.
