I know that - for example - on the Archos tablets there is an app to redirect the display to the HDMI port. How about phones that don't have HDMI but DLNA is available ? any app that can do the same ?

We have been recommended an AppleTV for over the air spreadsheet and slideshow presentations from a macbook to a tv display. Can a Google ChromeCast streamer be used as easily for the same purpose? I've read about screen mirroring is now working as beta with Apple devices. I've also read local media playback is disabled in a firmware update. Do these devices need a wifi router, or do they work ad hoc?
After playing a while with a piece of garbage ( fake chinese RK3188 tv box ), I want to buy a good Android Tv box to be able to view NFL, HBO and TWC TV in my 60" TV, all these aplications have the HDMI output restricted to be used - at least with my fake RK3188 this apps detect the HDMI conection and it doesn´t work, a message appear that say "Unplug HDMI cable to use it" .
I would like to know if the Tronsmart Vega S95 meta have the HDMI detection disabled or is there any custon firmware to load in this box to be able to use this apps ?

I am developing an app exclusively for Android TV boxes. This app caters to display DTH channels in Android app using the following mechanisms:
1. If DTH box renders channels through HDMI, this HDMI is provided as input to Android TV box. My app should read this continuous stream and display in surface view or similar.
2. If TV channels are rendered through AV, this AV is read by TV tuner card which in turn outputs a USB stream. My app must read this continuous USB stream and display it in any of the views.
And help pointing in this direction would be greatly appreciated, for it has been months that I have been searching for a solution to this.

i'm planing to buy an USB-C to HDMI Adapter to connect TV, but still don't know about supporting of Xiaomi mi mix2 with MHL.
Is it possible to show the smartphone's screen on TV and play videos with this adapter, anybody knows?
If no, are there alternative ways to get it (chrome cast and dlna are not a option)? May be with software?

I went to a local best buy and tested out a USB C to HDMI dongle, unfortunately it did not work.
However using Chrome Cast to mirror the screen works great.

Is there a ROM where OTG functions work?
I'm looking at using otg to connect a webcam so that I can use that webcam during video calls using WhatsApp etc. Effectively I am looking to create my setup a bit like the Facebook portal tv - stream the phone screen to my TV, either by casting or by hdmi and having a webcam on top of my TV connected via the otg.
My question is does android natively support this? Will I be able to select the camera in WhatsApp or settings to use it in those apps?
The logitech c270 says that is compatible with android 5 or higher...?
