Hopefully its not true. - T-Mobile LG G2x

http://www.intomobile.com/2011/08/24/apple-iphone-5-may-land-tmobile-too/
This would be all we need with tmobile a bunch of the Iphone cult clogging up the 4g airwaves. Just stick to att and verizon ok.

Haven't heard anything that says it will be on Tmobile's 4G.
Tmobile currently has 1 million iPhone users, but they are all on edge data speed.

I doubt the iPhone 5 will have "4g" capability this go around. It sounds like the 5 will be cross platform (CDMA/GSM) to get the iPhone to the masses. I bet we'll see specific versions of the 5 later on with carrier specific specs to connect to the respective "4g" networks. Maybe an iPhone 5gs later on?

I can't see it not coming with aws this time around. Android has put the heat on apple and they want to get the iphone to as many customers as possible. The best way to do that is to offer it on every network in the US. And with the merger coming it makes sense.
Sent from a Delorean with a flux capacitor in 1985

iphone 5 is still gunna be 3g because apple dont wanna pay 30 bucks more per iphone to make it 4g so no it will not be on tmobile

I was speaking to the Tmo Business Rep that handles our companies phones and he was saying he heard rumors of an unlocked iphone that would work on tmo site and be might be capable of running 4g. I usually take these "I've heard rumors" with a grain of salt but ya never know. Im not an apple person I will gladly stick with my G2X

As much as I don't like the iPhone, I hope it does come to T-Mobile. It would mean more customers and more revenue. Both are things that T-mobile really needs.

I agree...but for other reasons. Tmo would finaly have a smart phone for dumba55's. That would mean a lot nicer, cleaner, friendly XDA. just think, all the retards that have G2x that moan, groan and complain would dump this device and go jump on the lame a55, no brain to think with band wagon. Actually all tmo devices listed in the forum would benefit from this. I hope it is a 3g phone. As much as I hate apple I kind of hope it does happen. Some things that could make this bad is allowing it to run 4g/H+. Customer care would be even worse(had longest wait ever today. 1 hour just to talk to a Rep.) I guess its a wait and see thing. Final thought iPhone=no individuality

Would be interesting

No Lte support
I have read a couple articles saying LTE support will not be out with the Iphone 5.
I am not to worried about it as I am sure the network can handle it. Now if ATT wins .... that's another story.

OK I do software support for fruit software. Things I can say. A. Lte will not make it to the 5. B. It will come to Tmob/sprint this go around. C. There is a SLIM chance due to a battle being waged that the iPhone could finally have flash support. Someone might have realized HTML 5 isn't happening for everyone right now...
Beyond that look for a late Sept./Oct 1st week release.
Oh and I support fruit software via a phone all day long ....as you can tell my pocket supports android

im surprised im the only one that really posted about this
Well, gee let's see:
1) last year's hardware with a different antenna
2) stuck on a CDMA network (while 98% of the world use GSM) that doesn't allow simultaneous voice and data
3) its only mentionable software is the app store (grandma loves playing with those games)
I don't blame people here from not talking about it..

1) The phone is less than 7 months old
2) Totally agree here, but then again most Verizon phones are CDMA only
3) The app store, agree with me or not, has some awesome apps in it and is still ahead of Android as far as searching/sifting through the crap goes.
Anywho, I will continue using my HD2 with NAND Android
I think it is weird for someone to buy this phone on February 10th when 4 months later Apple is MORE than likely going to release the iPhone5. If Verizon customers have been weighting years for this device to come to their network, what is the harm in waiting 4 more months to get the newest one. I know it isn't a guarantee Verizon will get the iPhone5 in June but its hard to see why they wouldn't.

My guess would be that the iPhone "5" will really be just a "4S", slight speed boost, maybe more storage, nothing to write home about though. Then next year when the 5 comes out Verizon and AT&T will both get handsets at the same time, in June.
Plus, realize that average customers don't know/care about release schedules. If they did, 6 months after the iPhone is released 0 would sell, which obviously isn't the case. Not everyone chases the latest and greatest devices like we do
if a five comes out- it WILL be a 4s like uberamd said. It wont be worth a new device it will just be something a software update would be. honestly, i also believe that some of the verizon smart phones could best the iphone in a comparison so unless the iphone becomes somthin totally different they may lose business. Hopefully the 4g service will come to verizon sooner than later.

Yes, the phone was released 7mos ago. The available hardware (as in similar phones with similar or better specs), however, is over a year old.
I can just imagine AT&T and Verizon releasing the iPhone 4GS, AT&T's will be the exact same with HSPA+ and Verizon's will have LTE. Other than that.. no differences.

Who cares about specs? Go ask anyone outside these forums who isn't a gadget geek (and by that I mean go ask 99.99% of mobile users) how many MHz the processor in their phone is, or how much RAM it has. They will stare blankly at you. Why? They don't care. What they want is a good experience, and while I may be an Android user I am also willing to admit that the iPhone 4 delivers a silky smooth user experience. From the store to the high res responsive screen, its completely smooth.
I have likely gone from iPhone to Android much more than most people in these forums so I have experienced the pros and cons of each OS. In my experiences outside of geekdom, MHz, GHz, MB of RAM, and dual cores don't matter. UX reigns supreme.

The OP asked why noone on a TECH FORUM has post about it. That's because people on a TECH FORUM SUCH AS XDA already know about the specs front and back. Learn to read.
The iPhone was sick when they first came out. 3 years later it's still the same phone in a different housing. I don't think I will ever get an iPhone again. Sold my 3g for a G1 when they first came out and never looked back.
Buying one right now would be a waste if you always have to have the latest and greatest with the "4S" or whatever it's going to be called a few months away.

Also, if you notice, a different user mentioned this I think it is weird for someone to buy this phone on February 10th when 4 months later Apple is MORE than likely going to release the iPhone5. If Verizon customers have been weighting years for this device to come to their network... which started the discussion about Verizon customers in general, not just ones on these forums. Your reply, and attitude, is entirely uncalled for.
So not only do you fail to read but you also get side-track from comment to comment? The available HARDWARE was announced back in January 2009 (with the introduction of the toshiba tg01). That was the starting point. Even phones with bigger screen, bigger RAM, and 1ghz CPU were already available in store at the end of 2009. So since this thread was about the Verizon iphone 4, set to be released in 2011, it'll still be using technology/hardware already available back in 2009, and for the most part, early 2010...making the hardware a year old.
So what does saying the phone is 7mos old have to do with anything I replied to the OP?
I'm starting to think that english is not your first or even second language.
I'm done. Dealing with people like you isn't even worth my time.
So, who really cares ? It's a glorified app launcher anyway. Yea, it's pretty but, it's a apple.
This model is yesterday's news, it's 7 months old (longer before it was orgnally announced) Verizon and Apple know this. Every one who is a iPhone fanboy has been *****ing about AT&T's poor network, so verizon was the answer. So every sucker will go get a iPhone 4 from Verizon that is outdated and last years model JUST TO GET a iPhone on Verizon.
So, when the iPhone 5 (or what ever the next model is called) comes out, I am sure Verizon has there hands in the jar on that one, it will come with LTE and the way it should of been. Everyone who had to have one will be on a 2 year contract so they cant' change unless they pay the $350 or full price for the phone, then the people will be locked in for more years.
I think this iPhone was a model that was just designed to get rushed out the door, sure it will work ALMOST like AT&T's device but, it's nothing new(accept on a CDMA network).
I don't have interest in one but, I have a few family members who are and I hate to see them pay full price for a device that is outdated. I would expect for a flagship device on Verizon that they would do it right.
I would of prefered them to release it done right and wile they were at it, release a few Windows phone 7 models, you know, the better phone anyway

Wow do you like to talk back or what cookie?
As for the iPhone. Sorry fellers. It's a sick phone. So what if the 'hardware' is old? It has a higher resolution than almost any other phone right? How is that "old"? Also the Retina is way better than this "SLCD bs". I love the Super Amoled though.
Not only this, it doesn't NEED a dual core! Or anything more than it has even. Why? Because it runs intensive 3d games! Because it is fluid and smooth! What do you expect them to do?
All it's missing is a 4g radio. And it's way too early for that anyways. Why? 10mbps isn't real 4g. 10mbps isn't worth mentioning. I get 7 on T-Mobile THREE g. I'll get a 4g phone when it's 20+. Also then iPhone 4g will be out. For both AT&T and Verizon maybe?! Maybe! Lmao.
Either way. CDMA iPhone = ... Bad ESN + Flash to Cricket. Cheapass phone cheapass plan no contract. That's what I'd do. If I wanted an iPhone. But I have an iPod Touch and I love my T-Mobile service and my Nexus S.
And what's your huge problem with the CDMA iPhone 4? Cause CDMA is "crap" or something? Lolwut? Do you have any idea how big of a company Verizon is? Why is a CDMA company so successful? Why exactly do you think Apple is selling a CDMA iPhone?
Blah whatever. Haters gonna hate. But these haters must be nervous and threatened by an iPhone that isn't on AT&T crap. Honestly, I'm glad I have the choice to have an iPhone with 3G that isn't on AT&T if I want now. Doesn't mean I like the iPhone or am going to get one. But I'm glad I have the option.
Choice is a good thing.
^ CDMA is small as hell when compared to the rest of the world.
Anyway I guarantee this iPhone will sale more than everything on the market.
Oh and every game is not silky smooth on the iPhone. They crash and lag just like on Android. Do your research. Not all of them but there are some.

How long will NS Last?

Its on Gingerbread and im sure it will get Ice Cream or whatever, will it get the one after that though? And what about even after that!
I just want a phone that can last me a long time (at least 2 years)
NS has everything I want and need, as long it has the latest updates im good, and I dont like to root and rom and stuff, I just want all stock stuff.
With the speed technology moves two years is probably about right for the life of a new phone. It will probably be dropped by Google long before it's discarded by the devs though.
My question would be whether the hardware will last the two years.

Today's phones are like computers. It'll last as long as it does what you want it to do. Once you feel that your phone no longer can do what you want it to do, then thats when it has become personally obsolete and time to replace. Generally I would replace my phone every year, because it seems a new phone would release with a new feature that I would want to make my everyday communication needs much more efficient.

I would assume the Ice Cream update would be the biggest leap so far, especially if its going to bring Honeycomb features to phones. (ie hardware acceleration, holograpic UI etc.)
And the Nexus One/S would probably the only phones to get the update for a while.
You should be worried when they stop support for the Nexus One first.

Hmm I've noticed that the Dev section isn't as booming as I thought it would be considering this is a Nexus phone. I'd assume that that's because the phone was only released on T-Mobile (and some other places in UK) until very recently?
Will the dev section pick up once the AT&T, Sprint and the Canadian carriers pick it up, or did people just decide to skip over the Nexus S for some reason? I'll assume it's the former.

Don't feel bad guys. I bought my sensation for $200 and a week later it was free on t-mobile's midnight sale.
How can you be mad at T-Mobile for a purchase you chose to make? Everyone who purchased it from them has a buyer's remorse period. If you chose to keep it beyond that and still aren't happy with you purchase then you only have yourself to blame.
As for them offering it for $0 right now, they have to do something to attract attention back to the product. They are making a good business/marketing move.

Made the leap!
The price point was too hard to pass up and it seems LG finally got its act together. Anyone confirm if there are hardware changes as well as the upgrade to Gingerbread. From certain reviews of those who recently exchanged but still received a device with stock 2.2 that many issues that seemed to have been fixed i.e., screen bleed and perhaps overheat, may be indicative of a change in hardware.
As to class action lawsuits the false advertising of multiband coverage would seem enough to cook LG's goose. How can their website claim all these frequencies:
850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 1700/2100 MHz (Quad-Band/Dual-Mode)
when apparently only 1700/2100 are in effect?
Well, saying goodbye to my OG Droid and happy to have a new toy once it gets here.

Is not the media event . Is it ? I read it was lets talk iphone event. Anyways im waiting to see what they come out with sold my iphone 4 already and if that next iphone comes out and impress me enough I'll get it

4s confirm got adi
but still duno the spec for 4s and 5 ><
perhaps this time instead of the Antennae-gate problem, they might possibly see GPS-gate or Battery-gate

Yes, it's the Let's Talk iPhone event but with the press present in the convention I might as well term it as a media event.

The antenna problem is terrible enough, on top of the extremely conductive material of the iPhone making it super hot after awhile of heavy usage.
Sprint just placed an order with Apple for an astounding 20 billion dollars. Apple better have something real special up their sleeves or Sprint is toast.
via Engadget
Luckily we'll know soon enough. Personally I can't wait to see what the iPhone 5 brings!
the iphone heading to sprint seems to be the CDMA version of iphone4s available in black or white as it was leaked on the website
source http://mobilesyrup.com/2011/10/01/a...and-its-design-within-the-latest-itunes-beta/
so i doubt it's the iphone5
in other words... people in sprint will be more happy enjoying the SGS2 LTE than iphone4S

I would say the same and I about know what they they will say, but any ways.
I hope most don't care about LTE or most will be vastly disappointed.
Well what I do expect is a great overall piece of hardware with maybe a few nicks here or there like every phone has. Software wise I don't see it as bringing anything substantially new. It's like the gingerbread update, or maybe a 2.3.4-2.3.5.

That was what I thought, but it was claimed that iOS 5 carries more than 200 features upgraded from iOS 4. I have yet to see that.

I think Sprint will be fine. It's in Apple's best interest to see Sprint survive. A duopoly would not only screw over the customers but also the phone manufacturers.

After all, Sprint decided to throw all 20 bil in regardless of whether people are buying their services or not.

MT4GS to go EOL in may

sauce: http://www.tmonews.com/2012/03/new-...t-shows-htc-amaze-4g-end-of-life-as-may-2012/
pretty sad to see a phone reach EOL in less than a year.
this makes the probability of an official ICS update even slimmer
The HTC Amaze, Sensation 4G, and Doubleshot have been EOL for a while. I guess we just have a set date.

Its because there going to try to push the new phones of this year.

*sigh* I don't know why t mobile insists on dogging the mytouch line. The mt3g was high end for its time, same with the mt4g and mt4gs. Now its like they've dropped them down to bottom of the barrel phones. Hate to say it, but I have seriously been considering the gs2.

I say go for it. But honestly wait til the SGS 3 comes out in may. Its gonna be a quadcore beast.

The only real reason I have not is because of money. Those phones ain't cheap, and unless I have a real need for that phone (which I don't), its not really worth it to me to spend it. Also, my contract is up on father's day, so I will probably get a nice upgrade for cheap then. I can wait.

My upgrade is around the same time. If the GS III launch is anything like the GS II, it'll hit the states months after the rest of the world. I may buy a Galaxy Note and flash the radio that works with T-Mobile to tide me over until the GS III or something else comes along. Then I will have two awesome phones.

The release might actually be delayed - but Samsung is doing a simultaneous launch with 70+ countries or something like that I think. .

Last what I heard of it was that Samsung plans to release the GS3 right before the London Olympics in July so they can promote the hell out of it during the Olympics

As long as it is out before father's day! Hopefully t mobile has a promo like they did last year, where every smart phone was free on father's day. Hopefully lol.

Nope, sadly keyboard phones are dying out. At least the ones with highend specs. Somebody linked to the next MyTouch earlier in this thread.

I Will never buy any T mobile branded phone ever again. Not even their service I will use again.I urge fellow people who have bought cell phones from them; example mytouch 4g slide, amaze 4g and a host of others not to purchase any phones from them in the future,After reading and seeing the end of life article of most of these cellphones,I am deeply disturbed at this trend from T-mobile.My hard earned cash is totally disrespected as purchased this cellphone at no contract price. This is the second time this has happened in less than two years from T-mobile.Totally despicable in my books !

good for you. I am used to it... I was with Virgin Mobile before I came to T-mo and if you think T-mo is bad. *shudder* At least T-mo releases updates... In the history of VM there has been 1 update. 1 and only 1. To a outdated phone to an outdated os... So I personally can live with having a phone have 0 updates or go to it's end of life... There is always dev support.
Also people complaining of lack of dev support... There are lots of devs here compared to a lot of other phones...

1 thing I will give a plus to is the new myTouch has a 4" screen which is nice. But personally I would love the One S with a qwerty.
