You get out of here with your logic and stuff.

Don't feel bad guys. I bought my sensation for $200 and a week later it was free on t-mobile's midnight sale.

How can you be mad at T-Mobile for a purchase you chose to make? Everyone who purchased it from them has a buyer's remorse period. If you chose to keep it beyond that and still aren't happy with you purchase then you only have yourself to blame.
As for them offering it for $0 right now, they have to do something to attract attention back to the product. They are making a good business/marketing move.

Whatever the price is this phone is best T-Mobile has to offer hardware wise and xda development wise so why complain about the next guy

Made the leap!
The price point was too hard to pass up and it seems LG finally got its act together. Anyone confirm if there are hardware changes as well as the upgrade to Gingerbread. From certain reviews of those who recently exchanged but still received a device with stock 2.2 that many issues that seemed to have been fixed i.e., screen bleed and perhaps overheat, may be indicative of a change in hardware.
As to class action lawsuits the false advertising of multiband coverage would seem enough to cook LG's goose. How can their website claim all these frequencies:
850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 1700/2100 MHz (Quad-Band/Dual-Mode)
when apparently only 1700/2100 are in effect?
Well, saying goodbye to my OG Droid and happy to have a new toy once it gets here.

The frequency claims are accurate. Quad band (850/900/1800/1900) refers to GSM (2G) and the Dual Mode (1700/2100) refers to UMTS (3G/4G)

That's why it's called "bleeding edge" technology. If you buy anything new, first-run, you're gonna have to face the fact that in a few months, it will be available for much less than you paid...and then shortly after that, there will be something newer and shinier calling to you in your sleep...and you will take a loss on upgrading to the newest. Hey guys, it's been real...

After the long, dreary task of fooling with AT&T, Samsung and (5) warranty replacements, I am no longer a Captivate or AT&T customer.
I walked over to VZW and picked up a Droid X on 2.2.1 and I must say I love it! Gonna slide on over to the X forums and see what ROM's are cooking. I appreciate all your help guys and loved Axura more than anything!
ROCK ON!
If only the iPhone was available with someone other than AT&T, then I'd jump ship too. But, alas that just isn't the case, so I'm stuck with AT&T for the foreseeable future.
Does AT&T pro-rate the ETF like Sprint does? I'm looking to get out myself. I don't see myself sticking with AT&T until October 2012

Yes the Captivate is very high end... unfortunately us early adopters have been screwed by Samsung (i.e. GPS and shutdown problems). I am convinced the GPS problem is hardware based after seeing a newer Captivate lock quickly while mine just sat there...

G2X Price Drops..?

Anyone else a bit taken back by the drastic price drops on the G2X? Not in a good way... I feel like the G2X could be the Vibrant all over again...

"The best technology never makes you think about it. It's just always brilliant."
- LG G2X Amazon Page
I'm sorry but with all the problems this phone has against it (similar to the Vibrant): Overheating, Shotty Network/Data Connections, Reboots, Lock-ups it seems like T-Mobile is readying for another magic trick. Granted, from what I've gathered reading these forums certain problems (mentioned above) could be completely unrelated. I personally feel that the poorly tinkered network/data connect software T-Mobile f***ed into this phone coupled with the completely separate battery issues are reeking havoc on the phones in a variety of ways.
Just a thought.
As a past Vibrant user (unfortunately) I felt compelled to report the similarities arising again... and all the Vibrant base got [after their woes] was a ****ty Froyo update and the Samsung Galaxy S 4G releasing swiftly via T-Mobile.
I really thought the Vibrant must've been a fluke for T-Mobile, as it was my first leap into the smartphone & Android markets (came from a flip phone, no txts or data). Seems I was wrong in my judgement for trusting them with a second/different product. Don't get me wrong... This phone is great (in theory) but so far it is dragging with bugs and this leaves me torn... =/

I bought a vibrant for 250 starting my contract in august.... a month later I buy one for a add a line for my brother for 50 bucks..... Its just the tmobile way... Hm... perhaps. I'll think it over a nice bowl to cool the thoughts down a bit lol, 4:20 is coming a little early this morning I suppose.
I guess I just want a phone that works [ultimately]... Seems like the T-Mobile way is to release half-assed, beta quality products (at least in these eyes, I understand experiences vary). I went along thinking T-Mobile was a great company until I jumped on the Android bandwagon. Guess one can't get too butt-hurt over a company acting as soulless as they do sometimes... it's in their nature. =/
Coming from a vibrant I see where u are coming from. It was the biggest pile of a phone I have ever had. It was also my first android experience after being an avid bb user.
I do see some short comings in my g2x but I hope things don't get bad. I also despise Samsung as a company and blame the vibrant fails on them. It seems ateast to me they push a product hard and never support it. They did the same thing on a TV I bought. After there lack of support on the vibrant I will never own another Samsung product. I just hope the g2x is not the same way.

I respect your point of view but I disagree with you.
I come from a Galaxy S 4G and this phone is way better and faster.
If you are experiencing those kind of issues, I would advise you to exchange it. I haven't really experience those kind of issues and the only real problem to me has been data disconnecting.
Now that I have flashed many ROM's I have come to the conclusion that EB 1.04 is the best and not many disconnections since I settle.

About to buy a G2X

Im about to buy a G2x from someone on craigslist for the low price of $280. Ive been reading the forums all day and it seems like i may just be buying myself some trouble. Im planning on flashing CM7 as i did on all my 3 phones i own right now. WHat should i expect and not expect? Is the phone even worth $280 considering all the issues?
CM7 works perfectly fine for me with the stock kernel. I have absolutelt no problems other than the torch app sometimes acting up. I would nab that deal in a heartbeat. I love my phone. Although it seems as if some phones on weird and slight occasion dont flash properly or just plain have a weird problem with APN's. And it is known that some G2X's dont handle overclocking and undervolting as well as others. I have a theory that alot of the nards that are having major problems all the time are doing something wrong or getting a bad download or something along the lines of that. Good luck and cheers!
i have had no problems with reboots whatsoever. also, if you read a little more you would see that gingerbread has been released by LG. Even though it may not be official a lot of users is reporting positive reviews so far. it's only a matter of time before we see custom roms using this base and our phones will be that much better.
As long as the hardware seems in good working order then yes it's a great buy.
its incredible that the price has gone up so much. i got mine for $99 + free activation! but you should be able to get it for $240. the gingerbread upgrade will fix a lot of issues and cyanogenmod with the latest drivers for gingerbread will take it the rest of the way. If I were you, I would wait until the price comes down but if you have $ to spend then go for it.

At $280 buy it. Now that GB is out, it going to go up in price when people start catching on, so far update has fix a few issues.

What? You can get G2x's for even lower than that on craigslist. It's not that he's selling a broken phone. It just depends on the person. I've seen brand new iphone's go for less than that. It's that some people just don't care to do their research especially if they got the phone on contact... They sell the phone for less than what they paid on contact..

http://www.intomobile.com/2011/08/24/apple-iphone-5-may-land-tmobile-too/
This would be all we need with tmobile a bunch of the Iphone cult clogging up the 4g airwaves. Just stick to att and verizon ok.
Haven't heard anything that says it will be on Tmobile's 4G.
Tmobile currently has 1 million iPhone users, but they are all on edge data speed.
I doubt the iPhone 5 will have "4g" capability this go around. It sounds like the 5 will be cross platform (CDMA/GSM) to get the iPhone to the masses. I bet we'll see specific versions of the 5 later on with carrier specific specs to connect to the respective "4g" networks. Maybe an iPhone 5gs later on?
I can't see it not coming with aws this time around. Android has put the heat on apple and they want to get the iphone to as many customers as possible. The best way to do that is to offer it on every network in the US. And with the merger coming it makes sense.
Sent from a Delorean with a flux capacitor in 1985
iphone 5 is still gunna be 3g because apple dont wanna pay 30 bucks more per iphone to make it 4g so no it will not be on tmobile
I was speaking to the Tmo Business Rep that handles our companies phones and he was saying he heard rumors of an unlocked iphone that would work on tmo site and be might be capable of running 4g. I usually take these "I've heard rumors" with a grain of salt but ya never know. Im not an apple person I will gladly stick with my G2X
As much as I don't like the iPhone, I hope it does come to T-Mobile. It would mean more customers and more revenue. Both are things that T-mobile really needs.

I agree...but for other reasons. Tmo would finaly have a smart phone for dumba55's. That would mean a lot nicer, cleaner, friendly XDA. just think, all the retards that have G2x that moan, groan and complain would dump this device and go jump on the lame a55, no brain to think with band wagon. Actually all tmo devices listed in the forum would benefit from this. I hope it is a 3g phone. As much as I hate apple I kind of hope it does happen. Some things that could make this bad is allowing it to run 4g/H+. Customer care would be even worse(had longest wait ever today. 1 hour just to talk to a Rep.) I guess its a wait and see thing. Final thought iPhone=no individuality
Would be interesting

I have read a couple articles saying LTE support will not be out with the Iphone 5.
I am not to worried about it as I am sure the network can handle it. Now if ATT wins .... that's another story.
OK I do software support for fruit software. Things I can say. A. Lte will not make it to the 5. B. It will come to Tmob/sprint this go around. C. There is a SLIM chance due to a battle being waged that the iPhone could finally have flash support. Someone might have realized HTML 5 isn't happening for everyone right now...
Beyond that look for a late Sept./Oct 1st week release.

The only real reason I have not is because of money. Those phones ain't cheap, and unless I have a real need for that phone (which I don't), its not really worth it to me to spend it. Also, my contract is up on father's day, so I will probably get a nice upgrade for cheap then. I can wait.

My upgrade is around the same time. If the GS III launch is anything like the GS II, it'll hit the states months after the rest of the world. I may buy a Galaxy Note and flash the radio that works with T-Mobile to tide me over until the GS III or something else comes along. Then I will have two awesome phones.

The release might actually be delayed - but Samsung is doing a simultaneous launch with 70+ countries or something like that I think. .
Typed by ---- oh wait! I'm schizophrenic!
Last what I heard of it was that Samsung plans to release the GS3 right before the London Olympics in July so they can promote the hell out of it during the Olympics

Nope, sadly keyboard phones are dying out. At least the ones with highend specs. Somebody linked to the next MyTouch earlier in this thread.

I Will never buy any T mobile branded phone ever again. Not even their service I will use again.I urge fellow people who have bought cell phones from them; example mytouch 4g slide, amaze 4g and a host of others not to purchase any phones from them in the future,After reading and seeing the end of life article of most of these cellphones,I am deeply disturbed at this trend from T-mobile.My hard earned cash is totally disrespected as purchased this cellphone at no contract price. This is the second time this has happened in less than two years from T-mobile.Totally despicable in my books !

good for you. I am used to it... I was with Virgin Mobile before I came to T-mo and if you think T-mo is bad. *shudder* At least T-mo releases updates... In the history of VM there has been 1 update. 1 and only 1. To a outdated phone to an outdated os... So I personally can live with having a phone have 0 updates or go to it's end of life... There is always dev support.
Also people complaining of lack of dev support... There are lots of devs here compared to a lot of other phones...

This thread needs to go EOL
1 thing I will give a plus to is the new myTouch has a 4" screen which is nice. But personally I would love the One S with a qwerty.
