[Q] I lost HDMI after flashing infused - Samsung Infuse 4G

I cannot get HDMI output now. It worked with stock out of the box but tried it after I flashed and now it doesn't.
Any help?

infused 2.0 is rogers based (att is slacking on gingerbread) rogers didn't get hdmi on the infuse and there is no easy way to add it.

OK. I gotcha.
Even though you say its not easy, are there any links or threads on how to do it? A kernel or something.

Not that I know of, only thing you can do is go back to froyo or wait for the official release of Gingerbread for Infuse AT&T.

"no easy way" in this case means "no easy way for developers" or more specifically "we tried every easy solution and it didn't work"
There was stuff obviously missing from the kernel, and we added that, but even then - at this point the phone detects an HDMI cable connected (if you pull a dmesg) and the TV seems to detect something there, but the userland stack doesn't route anything to the HDMI cable.
Edit: This is specific to Infused v2.x and Hellraiser. Infused 1.x, Refuse, and Bionix should have working HDMI. Or more generically - until AT&T releases Gingerbread, Froyo has it, GB doesn't.

This has all been covered in the actual CM thread, all of our ROM's are stable they just have some missing features (AOSP built ones anyway)
MMS seems to be an issue right now, i have tried apns backup and reinstall and no luck. The other issue i have noticed is the cameras highest res is 3mp, but is fully functional. I also got 2694 on quadrant, if you have never used cyanogenmod i highly recommend it. Coming from a desire this is a bit of a step backwards, but no other rom will do. That being said, it's highly customizeable compared to other roms i have tried.
So the only thing not working is MMS?
Jesus Christ. Yall read the damn CyanogenMod ROM thread, come on.
Lol... @add im becoming a big fan of yours you are blunt and don't beat around the bush!!!! Funny **** comes from your fingers...

Any tips for using wireless tethering on this ROM? I couldn't find it in Settings so I'm using an app but it unusably slow. Has the stock menu option been removed? I don't see USB tethering either.
Also, is there a way to get Swype back? Maybe this method? http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-841603.html
Barnacle wifi seems to work.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I went back to super clean for the time being, as I also couldn't find any way to access my phone from my windows pc with cyanogenmod - I guess you need a separate app for that too? I will have to do some more research before using that rom. Can't wait, it is by far the easiest on the eyes.

From now on the answer is always 42. roflcopters!
Any word an a "my contacts backup" apk that will run on the cm6?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
Why don't you just put your contacts on your Google account?
thats the best way to save contacts cause then it auto syncs back to the phone on any rom
In hindsight ... it would have been the wiser choice.

Anyone else having Bluetooth issues. I can't even enable mine. A friend is running the pbj time kernel says his is running fine. I flashed as posted and I get no Bluetooth. Also he claims to not have the roam triangle. The only difference is the kernel. Any thoughts?
I changed to pbj time kernel. I can now enable and file transfer via Bluetooth

Netflix from lg revolution?

Will the preloaded netflix application on the lg revolution work on the tb? Same processor and drm?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
why would you want that. The tbolt already has netflix...unofficial support but still.
Maybe they are hoping for working Netflix for Froyo.

How? The thread I found says it can que and search but not play back.
Man I hope we can use it

Actually it doesn't. Only if rooted and running certain roms. Unrooted we get drm notifications and that's it. The Revolution has the same processor and built in drm. So I'm hoping it will work.

i dont think so since the netflix app checks the kind of phone your using to access the servers i thought, only gb roms (and now with the radio brick issue its time to wait a little bit more) and a hack/fix will netflix work.

It is also running on the cm7 rom, though the quality didn't seem nearly as good on cm7. It was great on the gb roms. Shame about the loop issue because I was diggin gingerbread and netflix.

I don't think it has the same drm. The hardware drm, sure, but not software. We may be able to extract that though and get it to work.

Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
It's not a DRM issue, it's the stagefright libs. Search the forums because there is more info already here. On my phone or I'd link it for you.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
Yeah, the only way you're going to get it working ever on froyo is if you compile and add in the necessary libraries that are missing (stagefright is the frontend wrapper method of streaming on android since 2.2 and underwent some major revisions since then). Doesn't matter where the Netflix application comes from at all. Unless you want to compile them or wait for someone to or pay someone to, you wont be seeing it until gingerbread is stable if you're rooted or whenever netflix decides to be nice and "officially" release it for those that won't root.
If you don't root, then thats your choice, just please no whining when you made your choice and have to wait it out for netflix to care about you (which for all anyone knows could be months away). Can't have the best of everything if you want to stay with what verizon gave you.
I don't think it would, just a guess though. By the way, do we have a Revolution forum? I don't see one in the list unless it is under a different name. I should be getting one shipped soon. It is ugly as hell IMHO.

[Q] Oovoo

So i downloaded oovoo from the market only to find that its not supported on the Infuse. And their site doesnt have it as an upcoming supported device either. How hard would it be for someone to get it to work on the Infuse? And who wants to do it? Id be forever grateful and im sure a lot of others would as well.

If you're rooted, you can change the build.prop file. (/system/build.prop)
Change the line ro.product.model=samsung SGH-i997 to
ro.product.model=SGH-T959V (no samsung in front) then reboot, it should work.

It randomly logs me out sometimes when I don't know why but I just deal with it. OOVOO says they're developing for the infuse on their page, but I'm just gonna use this until then.
Ok, this is my first time using oovoo. So this is not normal? Its supposed to stay connected all the time and thru data changes?
I think qik is better. Its always ready to receive as long as its not killed

Removing Tethering Manager file. Risks??

I had stumbled across a post stating that you can remove the file Tetheringmanager 1.03.26 you can tether on the Infuse. I decided to try it out but instead of removing, I froze it. It worked flawlessly. Only problem is that I'm scared AT&T is going to see it that way haha. I've been tethering using Wifi Tether and it work great but I ran into a few issues, but that's another thread lol. I guess what I'm trying to see is if there is anything bad about freezing the app.
Thanks
Tommy

Basically every alternate ROM (Bionix, Infused 1.x, Refuse) removed this APK. No problems at all.
Ok so when I was tethering on my Inspire via the Leedroid rom it did this also?

No clue how the Inspire works in regards to tethering.
I know that native Android tethering works great without any bigbrotherware on all of the non-stock ROMs available for it.
Well, wifi tethering at least - for USB tethering, there's a bunch of flaky crap in the Samsung kernels because of Samsung's stupid NIH (Not Invented Here) attitude.
Ok cool so if I freeze that file I'm good to go with the native tethering?

Can I Just Put A Modem On My Phone?

I would put a custom rom but they never work well. So is there a way to just put a modem in the default rom? Please tell me if I can thanks. I just want to tather.
I don't know what tather is but i do know what tether is. The custom roms here do work well.

They don't they always never start up, crash, force close, and restart Ive tried about 20. I ment tether
all the modems perform about the same. no reason to flash a new one. its not like the galaxy s with 30 different modems for different carriers in different countries and different hardware. also many of the galaxy s modems were sub standard imho so using a different on could have big benefits. the infuse never had that problem.
now if it's tethering you are after that has zero to do with the modem. there is a file in att roms called tethermanager.apk or some variation of that. just delete it or flash a near stock rom without it, for froyo I recommend infused 1.6 or bionix, for gingerbread I recommend bionix biui build 3. but if you use an iPhone unlimited plan they do packet sniffing and will know and force you to update to a teired data plan.
Pretty much what the guy above me said. Modems do not do as much here anyway. Roms do work very very well, just choose wisely.
