[Q] Oovoo - Samsung Infuse 4G

So i downloaded oovoo from the market only to find that its not supported on the Infuse. And their site doesnt have it as an upcoming supported device either. How hard would it be for someone to get it to work on the Infuse? And who wants to do it? Id be forever grateful and im sure a lot of others would as well.

+1 on this request

If you're rooted, you can change the build.prop file. (/system/build.prop)
Change the line ro.product.model=samsung SGH-i997 to
ro.product.model=SGH-T959V (no samsung in front) then reboot, it should work.

Why does oovoo keep disconnecting or logging out. It also doesn't stay connected when switching wifi to data

It randomly logs me out sometimes when I don't know why but I just deal with it. OOVOO says they're developing for the infuse on their page, but I'm just gonna use this until then.

Ok, this is my first time using oovoo. So this is not normal? Its supposed to stay connected all the time and thru data changes?
I think qik is better. Its always ready to receive as long as its not killed

Skype with video calling!! UPDATE: now officially supported on the market.

I didn't make this work, I take no credit for it. I just distribute it to the masses. I found this on the Galaxy Tab forum and thought if it works on my Tab, why not my phone too? So I tried and it does! The video freezes when you switch to the back camera but other than that its seems to work fine. Have fun!

Someone reported that this doesn't work on froyo. Apparently after installing this on froyo the legit version couldn't be reinstalled. So proceed with caution.
Someone found a link to get it working on froyo. I haven't verify it works because I'm not on froyo.

UPDATE: First, i can't video call out, i have to receive it. Second, it forse closes when you try to answer with video. I'm running Bionix Black Ice and Bali 3.2UV. I would try Trigger but they're both KD1 based ROMs so i don't think it will change. I might flash KF2 just for this though.
Nope for me...
For me, on stock kd1 + root, it crashes skype as soon as I use video (initiate a video call, or touch the video icon). It won't receive video either when the other side starts their video.
PS: I already had skype installed (latest from Market), and even after uninstalling it would not install at first, giving a message about not enough available storage (even though there was plenty). The fix was to remove the /data/data/com.skype.raider directory that somehow was not removed when the app was uninstalled... The same was needed after uninstalling this one to go back to the Market version.

[Q] Data stops until I go in and out of airplane mode, how do I fix this?

Data works great on this phone, except for the fact that several times a day, maybe once every 2 hours, the data connection simply stops working. I can get it back by putting the phone into airplane mode, and then back again, but nothing else works.
If I try to go to a web page when the data is out, I get redirected to some web2go thing telling me I should buy some plan.
In my Mobile Network Settings I have the "Enable always-on mobile data" but don't see anything else that might help fix this.
Anybody have any ideas of what is going on, or better yet how to fix it?
I don't have the answer to your actual question.
However, if you don't want the Web2Go page you can change the User Agent on your browser from Android to Desktop.

I occasionally have the same issue, though mine only seems to do it on the transition from wifi to cellular. Sometimes toggling airplane works, sometimes not. Mine has always done that even stock. Oh, and it still does it even on your rom, undeadk9.
One other issue i've noticed is the wifi calling icon will randomly disappear and come back in about 20 seconds. I've only noticed this on SOC3.6, I don't know if 3.5 had this issue as I was testing virtuous when that was the latest. It hasn't caused any issues like dropped calls yet, but just a concern that it may.

I didn't! I'm behind in the forums and I'm on an old version of your ROM. I'll go look for that and get myself updated to the latest.
Well, it turns out that didn't help. I installed v3.5.0 and v3.6.0 patch and then turned on the data and waited...
An hour or so later it happened again
If I go to the browser on the phone it redirects me to a page that says:

There are special libs that work with Kineto.apk. They are located in /system/lib, they are:
libganril.so
libkineto.so
librilswitch.so
They all must be on the phone to make wifi calling work. Will they work flawlessly on her phone? I honestly don't know, but that's how it is on the G2x. I never even heard of that phone
I'll try pushing
libganril.so
libkineto.so
librilswitch.so
into her system/lib folder and see what happens. Do i need to link these shared obj files or can i just place them?

Yes i am aware that the wifi calling apk is for t mobile. I figured i might give it a try though and see what happens. Maybe thats a dead end. So, I have nettalk on her phone at the moment but it only works on out going calls and gives her a different number. I need something similar to t mobile wi-fi calling that allows her to keep her number? I am willing to buy from the market. One time fee though. Nothing like pay per call or credited accounts. Ideas?

There is no way the T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling app will work for you. Regardless of if you can get the app to run on the phone, it requires specific support on the carrier side to work.

Yeah i have thought about doing that but from what I've heard, she gets assigned a GV number and is not able to keep her old one. There is one version that is actually working on SK4G. Found it somewhere here, on XDA, but can't remember original thread. Hope it's OK to post external URL here: http://xdjh.info/ftp/share/apk/skype_for_SK4G.apk
You need to set 'Use MODE_ON_CALL' in 'Tweaks', audio works fine with that. Both cameras works too. I've tested this software on RAGE firmware - everything works.

1-that are suck ups.
2-those who like being sucked up to.

Im not supposed to wifi tether my device according to my new no cap contract so if that's important to you make sure you are aware of that when it comes time to renew or upgrade
I wouldn't say you guys are hated and or have alot of enemies.
Your merely misunderstood, and it doesn't help when there are the few with forked tongues that twist and manipulate what you say.
I see you two have some valid issues most of the time, but its hard to make your points when you are dealing with a mass amount of people that aren't educated enough to see them.

yea but before that you need to set up command prompts and downloading a jig file program with it and some other stuff. with odin there's no need to use command prompts, you just download the tar pit and csc files and flash away. Practically unbrickable even if you take the usb during an odin transfer. I'm not saying one click doesn't work but I think it throws people off

yea but before that you need to set up command prompts and downloading a jig file program with it and some other stuff. with odin there's no need to use command prompts, you just download the tar pit and csc files and flash away. Practically unbrickable even if you take the usb during an odin transfer. I'm not saying one click doesn't work but I think it throws people off

wut?
You are confusing installing heimdall fully instead of using a one click. Only thing you need for a one click is java and to install the drivers. Nothing hard at all.

lol I think you're right..let me rephrase then. I view Odin just another option to root, flash, and unbrick your device. Why not include it as an option, I don't think it's obsolete just yet.
i see we r making headway here.
How much stuff do ya really need on your comp other than a simple one click odin program that will do what's needed without having to go look up another and so on just to get rooted stock....I've had issues with installing Java...my comp doesn't seem to like it or I don't seem to know what I'm doing with it....either way gremlin remover is one simple easy dl and 1 simple click that takes less than about 3 minutes to do whats needed
