video player? - Thunderbolt General

yeah, i know another which is the best question. nevertheless would like some suggestions on a good video player for the bolt. running BURNTH3ORYX V1.5. other than that i really have no idea what is important
thanks
mark

QQplayer works nice if I remember correctly or seaman player.

I'm running the same with Vplayer and have had no issues...

Thanks for the help.
Since I bought the bolt, BAMF 186 is the only rom which i have run. Until now. BURNTH3ORYX is pretty minimalistic and I'm not seeing that a video player is baked in to it. I may be wrong. If there is a player, I haven't found it yet, thus my request for recommendations.

I run realplayer and love it overall, Moboplayer is good as well.

My favorite is Act 1 video player from the Market

I use mobo player for pretty much everything. It just works.

I have tried them all.
The absolute BEST is " Seaman Player ". Hands Down.
The QQ comes in a close 2nd.

double-tap the screen? And if they don't stretch out on the whole screen, then I would not like to see it fitting the whole screen. Since then it would look all pixelated and ****.
Yxflash can play most video files. I think that Meridian might stretch them out, like you want. I am not quite sure tho, since I convert them so that they fit the screen.
I gotta agree there.. Yxflash does play other types compared to others such as avi/divx files! If you are after a basic player, I think there's one called act 1 player..

Media Go - Skyfire
I found that the SONY Media Go application can practically convert anything even old copy protected iTunes if you have DRM on your computer, If you are downloading off the phone browser try using Skyfire as this has built in video codecs for most video formats.

[APP] Moboplayer: the best video player for Android apk

I've paid for and used both rockplayer and vplayer. But rockplayer sucked on the droid x after version 1.2 and vplayer hiccups a little too often. Lately I've been using vitalpayer and soulplayer. Both are available for free from the market and actually seem better than both the paid rockplayer and vplayer.
Then I came across this new video player yesterday and I have to say, it's the best player I've tried. The UI is very slick and user-friendly, especially the file manager aspect. It also plays every file I've thrown at it (but haven't tried mkv's yet) and has both hardware and software decode mode. (Just remember to long press on video file to select software decode mode).
It's still in beta testing and says its limited to a certain number of testers but I was able to sign up directly from the app without issue. You have to provide an email address for testing purposes (I'm assuming) so if you're not comfortable with providing its, this app is not for you. But for me, it was a no brainer.
Awesome app.

Should work on all high-end ARM V7 CPU Android devices
Would give credit but don't know who to give credit too. Will update when I do. Enjoy!
So, good chance this will become a paid app eventually?

Probably. But like I said, I've paid for several other players so, if it's as good as it been, I'll probably pay for this one as well.
THanks!

i really liked this app.. high power rendering.. can render a mkv file of 180 mb and not too bad fps too for the same.. but the audio video sync is little buggy.. i think it needs to be fixed... else its a wonderful and the best app available as a multi format video player!!
Very nice player, best I'd ever tested. But I don't like the License violation of ffmpeg. :/
For you Reference, It supports low end devices as well,
http://www.moboplayer.com/moboplayer_en.html#download
It requires registration(closed beta). I tried it. It does not play wmv files and even HD flv file ( where vitalplayer plays it nicely )
But UI is appealing !
Wao..! This is much nicer than vPlayer.. in terms of UI. Like the vol and brightness control on the right and left side.. making tweaking them a breeze!
I was reluctant to try moboplayer because it requires registration. But rockplayer was made much worse since version 1.2, after part of the original team left for moboplayer. vplayer is now free for Chinese users but it has a lot of decoding problems and random crashes. UM Player (悠米解霸) is barely usable at all.
In my case, moboplayer has by far the best video decoding (smoothness and artifects) for universal players I ever used/tried, and the best file management (though still minimal):
moboplayer >> rockplayer (below 1.2) > rockplayer (1.2 and above) > vplayer >> umplayer
My only problem with moboplayer now is the forced update. I understand the reasons behind but it just don't feel good being forced. I'd rather pay a few bucks for peace.
for me mVideoplayer is still best
AlsonBC : its stupid and wrong to say : render mkv
I have never needed another video player. I download music videos mostly in mp4 format and they play fine on the stock video player on SGS running froyo. Is there any SGS user here? Recommending another video player?
For others, is the stock video player not good enough?
i got the sgs vibrant and there are still some videos i can't play with some players...this one comes close but one video i play can't hear the audio...is a mkv format..
gotta say really like this player - does the job nicely
resuming, subtitle support, HD support (on the Galaxy S), MKV
excellent
Thanks!
I still use rockplayer(beta). Can anyone say this moboplayer is better?
Rockplayer(beta) does good for me except for +2GB wmv files, where I lose any ability to FF or REW.
Message has been deleted
Anyone tried a 720/1080p mkv movie with it yet?
Also, is there any list on compatible formats?
This is really good. Most video players I've tried have problems on my 2.2 nook color. However this plays perfectly. Thanks!
Nice work, Thank you

[Q] Alternative music player?

Hey guys!
Anyone used another music player on Nexus S? What is a good alternative for the stock one? It always breaks up my albums in parts and I cannot seem to find the fix.
poweramp by far the best
I myself prefer Winamp. It has shoutcast too, so I can listen to online radio.
I prefer Ubermusic because you can install the Metro skin and it looks and performs just like the Windows Phone 7 player.
www dot ubermusic dot com (I can't post links because I don't have enough posts yet, sorry)
Personally, just enjoy the design of it. I only use it as a music player for local files though, nothing else, so my needs are pretty simple.

Follow the leader @corythug
The MIUI music player is quite good.
I use DoubleTwist. Pretty retarded name if you ask me, but it's a great music player. 8.50/10 so far!
Thanks for the great suggestions guys! I'll check all of them! Now need to test the ICS player!!!
Uber music for sure!

Video player for CM9

Hi all,
This is my first thread!
I'm running the latest stable CyanogenMod and I've got some questions about what to do for video support.
The stock app for my Galaxy Tab (as well as my Skyrocket) was excellent; it played every movie, show, or video clip I've ever thrown at it, without a hitch.
Now that I'm running CM9, I'm not sure what to use to give me the same flexibility I was accustomed to. I've seen some others mention MX player, which was the most popular in the Play store, and so I've given it a whirl, and I've found it to be sub-par. MX isn't able to play all of the videos I have (which is only just a few).
I imagine the simple answer is that the problem is one of formatting, and that perhaps I'm lacking a codec or something. However, I'm not sure the answer is that simple, only because the videos I am currently trying to watch belong to a series/season, all have the extension ".avi," and were compiled by the same author. Yet, MX will only play a few of them.
I appreciate any insight with regards to troubleshooting and resolving the issues I have with MX, or any references to another, perhaps better, player.
Alternatively, I would be much happier if I could somehow get the stock Samsung video player back (and perhaps the music player as well - **** Apollo). Is there a way that a noob like me can be guided to do such a thing? I'm willing to make a donation (via PayPal) for the efforts that lead me towards fulfillment of this end.

In mx player, try changing the default decoder from hardware to software etc. and see if the other videos will play
Ah Yes, thank you! It seems to be working now.
I'd hit the thanks button, but I'm using the app.

Archos Video Player

I've always liked Archos software for video and I'd love to get this running on the Note 10.1 but it sin't compatible.
Has anyone tried to side load it?
If I purchase it for one of my compatible devices, how would I pull it out and get it over to my Note 10.1?
Yeah.
Works great - looks great BUT... I actually use VLC beta might not look as good but plays everything!

I bought on my note 2 and transferred a titanium backup over. .however. .I find mx player better and more built in codecs..
It looks nice but functions poor

Can you tell me if it plays mp4?
Can't you purchase extra codecs? I use mvideoplayer now but really wanted to play around with the Archos player.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk 2
Ya sure when I get home I'll test one for you. .I bought the extra codecs but it didn't help. .
It pays everything I put on it but like mkv for example. .it stutters and jitters..

have you tried the stock player. it plays almost everything and the stock player widget displays the last viewed video (kinda like archos, i still have my 101 and still thin it was the best media player until this tablet came along).
man, just check out the app and it reminds me of the old 101 media player that i loved. might have to snatch it up and hope the fix up some of the problems.
bought it an tested it. i'll keep it since it merges the functions of mizuu along with a decent player. it's not as good as stock since you can't use the entire screen (it doesn't hide the bottom bar). it also chokes on a few videos. i haven't check the media info to see what it could be that makes it stutter, however going into preferences and selecting "force software accel" fixes that. given that bs player doesn't seem to use that more more in hardware vs software accelleration i'm hoping archos does the same.
there's no widget like in the old verion on my a101 and there's no way to select default folders. it automatically searches for the files, but like mizuu you can search a db to grab media info and then it'll organize the files into tv or movies.
so far i've played wmv, avi, flv, mkv and mp4. the only problem was one mkv that i had to force software playback. it good and worth the $5, but i'm not sure it'll replace samsung's default payer just yet.
There is a free All Codec for Archos package in Play Store. After using it, Archos plays everything.
I use Archos actually, since it plays 1080p MKV HD material without stuttering like MX Player does for me. Will go for VLC tomorrow, I will have a look if there is this problem with HD material.
Love the ui, havent experienced anything like it, its beautiful. The problem is that when I tried it, it failed to output hdmi, there was no video just black screen. That and the fact that it doesnt uses the full screen keeps this from being the best imo. Stock player works wonders and does what its supposed to do but not as pretty.

i agree completely. it's got the best ui of any media player i've used, but no other app besides the stock player can use the whole screen.
on another note, my nook hd+ is the inly tabket that plays netflix in full screen. i wonder why gn101 doesn't.
Unfortunately it didn't pick up any of the videos I have at all so its not much good to me. They're all on an external sd which is the only possible reason I can think of, anyone else had the same issue?
When I click on the icon at the right in Archos, I get fullscreen, no problems so far, tested with 1080p mkv
What it makes better than VLC for me is UPnP/DLNA and SMB(!!!) support, that VLC doesn't have so far by now. Since I have several Synologys in my LAN, I want to use them and not my computer as streaming host.
I decided to give it a try since it is on sale today for $2.50. I cannot figure out how to port it from my GS3 to my Note 10.1. Both are rooted and have TiBu.
I have already tried to backup the app on my GS3, move it to the Note and restore it via TiBu but maybe I chose the wrong options because it did not work.
How did you get it into the Note 10.1?
