Android 2.3.4, Dual core support? - HTC Sensation

Just wondering, I'm running the stock t-mobile rom with 2.3.4, does this have dual core support? Are we even using both cores yet?

I think we are just using one core man .... I never see my other core active at all

Iirc, 2.3.4 added preliminary support for dual core. But ics will be where dual core chips will actually be suppprted/used.

wtf? R u serious? Why the hell wouldn't the phone be using both cores?
If it wasn't then it wouldn't run the rom's so smoothly end of.

Preliminary support. That means it uses them, just inefficient, hence the big thing about ics being multi core focus.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App

And where is this ics, when is this type of support going to be used ??.
Ice Cream Sandwich seems to be close for release, october slated date so cant wait..

I would say that only uses one core, discussing with Standard Quadrant tells me there is only one core, it is normal or is the problem of implementation?

Take a look in Faux123's kernel thread for more information on this

Quadrant will only be able to utilize one core because of how it's coded. Doesn't mean the system is only using one core.

At least,is sensation use the one core or not?

My phone is pretty fast/smooth as is. What would dual core use really accomplish aside from more battery drain? Or perhaps, the power use will get better?
The only thing I would like to see faster is the internet/data features. Websites could open faster, ect.

Are you not using the snapdragon? If you are then from your statement it sounds like the phone is not supported.

The evos processor is a snapdragon. Unless you are using a different mobile, then your topic should be in another location..

It was initially planned to have a Dual Core Tegra 2, I believe.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
I dont see what the fuss is, my thunderbolt kills my xoom w/ tegra 2 all over the cpu benchmarks. Dual core is more of a gimmick than anything right now with these phones.
I still don't see why we need dual and coming soon quad core processors. With stock android everything runs great.

When the os is written to make use of multi-core processors battery life should improve. That's the biggest plus I can think of at the moment.

By the time that happens, youll be on an new phone anyways (probably another year or two). I guess some people (like the OP) will never be happy with the current phone they have.

Mango Rom for sensation

Will there be a mango Rom for the sensation.

No, but its a retarded question.
As far as the OP goes, I was also gonna say no but stranger things have happened. Although obviously I was thinking of the HD2, but then who the hell would want to run 6.5 - most Sensation owners are happy with Android.
Same question has been asked already...
That new windows is closed source no?
who ever want mango on there HTC devices. should be patient. there will come out HTC eternity with 4.7 screen dual core. just check out from gsmarena.com. that is my advise.

I was like, sure it's available on the Senny, what you talking?...
Lol.
question is, why are you using that launcher? you should ditch your sensation and buy a hd7 or some sort.
People here seem to be misinformed/trolling. First off, an HD7 is not really a comparable phone. Worse screen, processor, gpu, etc. Also, to the person that not even dual core could help windows, that had to be a troll remark. I am a diehard android user, but windows phone 7 still seems to have the same smoother user experience, and that's on inferior 2010 single core snapdragon processors.
The main thing preventing this from happening is the lack of drivers for the updated snapdragon platform on winpho7. I'm sure that when they make the move to qualcomm dual core chipsets that we use, there will be some porting attempts.

Now just waiting for s-off on my sensation and let the modding begin.

Dual core on the rezound

Does any one know if the rezound with the gingerbread shipped is actually using the dual core capabilities? or do we have to wait for ics for the that?

Yes, it is. ICS will make better use of it, but with Gingerbread it is using the dual core power.

[Q] New desire s (memory app)

Hello! i am thinking to change my htc legend by a desire s, due the screen resolution and the memory dedicated to applications... my question is if a any user had problems to have few memory for applications, or if the space is enough to get all the applications you want without worrying about memory
Definitely, 1.1GB is plenty. Also the speed on the Desire S is much faster too

Get a One V man, you will feel more at home
Better screen than Desire S, better camera, ICS out of the box and bound to get more updates
For myself i would look out for a newer device, which may gets further updates!
I love my DesireS! And i will stay on it for a longer time (hopefully it will not get broken) The performance is great, there will be an update to ICS!
But that it will be. It won't even get newest Sense!

True, by the Desire S is cheaper than the One V, so it seems more logical
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
have also thought about the htc one v, because is the direct successor of the legend, however I choose the desire because front camera and its cheaper ... I do not want a large mobile phone, 3.7 is ideal, as the desire s, and I doubt very much that one htc v will receive many updates, due to weak hardware
1g ram & 1.5GHz DuelCore.why not is a favourate combination.

Htc desire s
More ram(768),one v has 512
They have the same cpu and they both are single core phones
768 mb of are useful,so i think you can buy a desire s and wait for a kernel 3.0
Our sense 4 roms are better
This phone already has s-off and a lot of custom roms
A good recovery and you can overclock the phone if you want the same clock of the one v
