For people that like Sense UI... ONLY!!!

Hi guys, just like what the topic says. For those who like AOSP don't be an arse.. and start crap in this thread.
OK, i was about to buy LGX2 on 4/20 at full retail and thought devs might port Sense UI to LG cause i like Sense and other varieties rom like CM7, Miui, etc.. just like our phone MyTouch4G. But I wasn't sure, cause in the back head thought how come Samsung phones like Galaxy S, 4G, Nexus S don't have any Sense port? Only AOSP roms. So I did some research and ask questions and found out there's no way to port Sense to LG or Samsung due to close source. So if you hate Sense then you can get LGX2 or Samsung. But I want varieties Sense UI, cm7, Miui ill be waiting and get HTC phones.

Not trying to be a **** but its HTC sense so I would assume that mainly HTC phones would have it yes it is closed source which I don't quite uunderstand since Google's all about the open source so why let something else just close it, ya know?

Just use launcher pro with a sense dock. Then use beautiful Widgets for the clock and widget locker for a sense look.

Well yeah, but it wouldn't be 100% Sense UI know what i mean? Plus i don't care what other says about sense is slow or what. not for mytouch4g 768 of ram And sense widget.

Tegra 2 fails in comparison to the dual core snap dragons. I think nvidia announced tegra 3 quadcore on phones by summer. I'm waiting for quadcore dual cores wont are not going to last as long. As the single cores did. The mytouch 4g has alot of ram as well so don't expect it to be outshine their was a video on YouTube of the mytouch 4g vs the atrix and the mytouch was blowing it out of the water.

Yep, I don't think the "Sense is slow" argument applies anymore. Phones like the MT4G are so powerful, I don't perceive any difference in performance going from a vanilla ROM to a Sense ROM. And phones will only continue to get more powerful.

Sense isn't slow I like it pure sense not T-Mobile version. I run cyanogenmod simply cause it save my days with the g1. Now I run miui with launcher pro. I personally like sense look but it uses alot of resources. 80 MB vs 254 MB they really don't need all of that stuff running in the background. Miui team changes alot and the rom is simply no bigger than 80 MB maybe HTC should look into a simpler way to implement their features without such heavy frameworks.

Honestly, since you like the UI's so much just buy the unlocked Optimus 2x for $550. Its only $50 more than the retail for the G2x. Here's a the link
Hope this is what you're looking for! I'm considering it myself, but I always root but I do like the UI on the Optimus 2x. Decisions!!!!

It doesn't matter if it's unlock or not that's not the problems. HTC Sense UI is close source, you can never port any Sense UI roms to any other models except HTC phones period.

Sense UI can be ported and was ported, just not properly. There is a port for Galaxy S. The problem is regaining radio functionality - and on Samsung they didn't achieve it. On the other hand, it took time to get Gingerbread on Galaxy S too, so it might just not be an easy task.

With tegra omap 5, super armoled lcd. As of right now that's has the best technology on a phone.

Its been said that the USA isn't getting tegra 2 processor were getting Samsung new one the exqinos or something of that name the rest of the world is getting the tegra 2 version.

Yeah, USA version is Orion omap 5 chip around 850 to 900+. I'll stick to my HTC with Sense UI.

+1 I agree 100000000% with you. HTC Sense all the way. The other day I went to CM7 and then TR Ginger. Well, I am now running Evil's HD, and I think I am staying there. It is running super smooth with the latest Faux Kernal SV.

Hell yeah... and with the new Sense UI we're getting in the summer its sick... LG, SamSux will be drooling all over it.... hahahaha. We will have the best of both worlds Sense and AOSP

I love sense so much more but I couldn't make my battery last all day like I can with cm7. Maybe I just don't know the secrets to a longer battery life with sense.

Once the sensations bootloader is unlocked will anyone port WP7 Mango?

Would be super cool if people would support this phone like the HD2 (being able to run android and WM6.5/7). Just throwing it out there... Would have bought a HD7 but waiting for the software to do a little catch up. Thinking when mango is released it will be that point where it had matured and everyone would be content using it day to day.

Would be cool, but probably won't happen because of the massive undertaking that would have to happen. Wp7 doesn't even have drivers for dual core phones..the drivers is what would make the whole thing a headache

When bootloader unlock comes I just want a GB Vanilla Rom or a Faster Sense Rom. I'm not a fan of WM7. Had the Focus and it sucked. I don't think ill ever leave android.

I would totally be up for that! I really like both operating systems. If the browser were just better, or there were alternative browsers that were worthwhile on WP7, I might still be using the HD7. Right up until I ended up with a Sensation.

Mango does support dual-core. the lastest spec sheet for upcoming wp7 devices says so. so the driver headache is not there...

Is it worth getting. I never owned a Samsung phone but I'm considering it. I'm tied of htc and the craps quality jobs they do with their phones. The dust, the reception, death grip, sense slowing down the phone and also keeps reloading everytime I hit the hone screen.

If you have the sensation getting the s2 is a downgrade.

because i own an htc sensation and im very unhappy with it and i know if i ask this in the gs2 forum their just going brag about how good the phone is. So id prefer to hear it opinions from someone who owns the sensation also

For your sense issue, you might want to try another launcher like launcherpro or adw

That doesn't mean it will remove the sense from your phone.
I suggest using aosp roms from xborder or cm7.

im already using launcher pro but its very upsetting that i buy htc phobes because i like sense but yet it slows down the phone and having to reload sense every tine i hit home key to get out of an app gets quiet frustrating

My two previous sensations weren't but with this dust issue I have had to keep getting them replaced and now I'm stuck with this one which is slow. I wish we had gotten that 1gig of ram like the Evo 3d did

No it's not.
Going from the Sensation to the Galaxy S II is in fact a huge upgrade.
I'm not saying the Sensation is bad, i'm just pointing out that the Galaxy S II is pretty much better than the Sensation in almost everything.

my sensationwith ARHD 4.1.3 is running perfect.

Please explain only upgrade is the 4.5 screen which isn't that much of a upgrade because its wvga with lower resolution then sensation qHD

The NVIDIA chip has a better video system than the Qualcomm.
The LG GX2 has faster graphics than a sensation.

its a super amoled plus screen, 1gig of ram,, 2mega pixel front facing camera, 1.5 dual core, i dont much about the phone im just going by the specs on the site but so far it seems to have better specs then the sensation.

Is it possible to port WP7 into this device?
I know WP7 requires a single core to support it. Maybe we can reduce one of the cores and make the ROM believe that it is a single core??
And please don't say, "get a WP7 instead".

I prefer android and I don't think WP7 on sensation will get a lot of support.
Also if you want WP7 why did you buy an android phone?

I too would love to run Windows Phone 7, my cousin just got a lumia 800 and the OS is so slick! I prefer the Sensations hardware though. On a serious note, WP7 doesn't support our qHD resolution or dual core processors yet.

launcher 7 is great. It took me a while to customize it the way I wanted, but now its way sexier (with my custom tiles and koi live wallpaper) than plain ol wp7. Plus I get the freedom of android.

Yeah that's an issue too.
You can reduce pixel size. Watch Brandon's (TechnoBuffalo) video on how to do it.

Why step down?

Smoothness, way better battery life, and I prefer the 2.2f camera.

After looking at the radar.. it's a Windows phone, that's what you want? It's also 1ghz... 5mp camera (which also doesn't look that much better from reviews) but to each his own. Pick what you like best

i used samsung focus before, and here what i think about window phone
*pro:
- smooth, nice UI.
- good battery life
* cons:
- web browser is suck ( no flash option, no bookmark organize ..)
- no official youtube app.
- Almost like iOS ( need Zune desktop, no real file manager , no directly download file from browser..)
Overall, WP 7 is great for normal users, not a geek.

My wife and I both used an HD7 and while it was nice it lacked a lot of things that I got on Android. She was loving it until she lost her phone.
I bought her a Sensation and the an used HD7 and she now uses her Sensation full time.

I think windows phone has potential. Get it *unlocked* and add a file browser and a proper video player I will be down!! SOOON!!! But only if ICS(BEST OS EVER) and FLASH didnt exist LOL

I would never give up a sensation for that. That's comparable to an exhibit 2! but the camera is way better on an exhibits 3mp! If you don't have ICS on your sensation I would def suggest it. It's amazing I put away my galaxy s2 for a while because it's so smooth. Went 13 hrs with power save mode on and still had 64% left. Then again everyone has different needs... What do you truly need?

I came here from WP7, its a lovely looking OS and the Titan I had was so quick, 105th quickest on WP bench. But the development is non existent! Unless you buy one of the 1st Gen ones, you cannot do anything. And if you want it dev unlocked the only way is to pay MS and with that you can only side load 3 apps!

No the unlock is a developer unlock. Pretty much just allows you to install non market apps. If you enjoy the freedom of android, youl have a shock going to windows. But if you just want a nice, good looking, fast phone then go for it. To be honest, i wish i kept my omnia 7 aswell as my sensation. I do kinda miss windows but android gives so much more.

i thought the sensation has f2.2 lens also

I would stick with the Sensation... you will regret it if u choose Radar as I think that it is step back..
