Darkys ROM is for the i9000 and not the Infuse.
It cannot be used without LinuxBozo's Hellraiser package, and Hellraiser only works for manual installations with red CWM (or "orange" CWM if you're coming from a CM7 install).
Search the i9000 forums, not ROM Manager. In fact - ditch ROM Manager and learn how to manually flash from CWM. The majority of developers here have a significant dislike for ROM Manager ("green" CWM results in WAY too many bad flashes), so if you insist on only using ROMs available through it, you'll be limited to very few ROMs (none at the moment in fact).

[Q] How to Install Cyanogen Mod ROM

i have a rooted nexus S..
how i gonna install Cynogen Mod Rom..
i get this link..
http://nexusshacks.com/nexus-s-hacks/how-to-install-cyanogen-mod-rom-on-your-nexus-s/
but my question is...can Cynogen Mod Rom can be install using ROM Manager??
Why Cynogen Mod Rom have to install googleapps after we have installed Cynogen Mod Rom??is that necessary??
Do others ROM have to install googleapps too??
thank you...
Last i checked that website was pretty outdated.
Yes it can be done using rom manager. You have to flash the gapps after as they are not included in the rom. This is because Google asked cyanogen to not include closed source apps in his open source rom.
You will want rom manager premium so you can download the cumulative nightlies. Otherwise just download the necessary files and install zip with rom manager. Make sure you wipe data, cache and dalvic cache before flashing the rom.
I recommended you install the latest nightly as it has included alot more fixes since the rc1 release.

not exactly
RC1 is the last official "stable" version
the link you provided is to the nightlies which are very random in nature, and many times it might not even work as pointed out on CM website itself
and when you are NEW to the flashing game, it's best to work with files you know it will work for sure, to minimize the unknown and fear factor

CM7 was on a code freeze. No additional code was being added because they were about to release rc2. It would have been out by now but kernel.org was hacked. The latest nightly is far more stable than rc1.

Got my galaxy 3 today,whats next? :-)

Ok,i already rooted it.but i need to find a way to install recovery and flash kernels.im experienced android user, flashed my x8 all day and really knew everything about that phone.i just need to figure g3 out.i think its not that hard
Sent from my GT-I5800 using Tapatalk
First find the flashing tools. It can be found after you download a rom as its included in the file you downloaded, or just search google for i5800 odin i think. Then, head over to the g3mod thread and download g3mod kernel v2.2.2. 2.3 has some bugs with the recovery i believe, so currently stick with 2.2.2. Then download the tar file of the oc or non-oc, then open odin as admin, select the ops file, and tick one package and select the g3mod tar file you downloaded. Then boot your phone to download mode, using vol down+home+power buttons. Then connect your phone to the com and click start. However, pls make sure you have downloaded kies and installed phone drivers and make sure you computer can detect your phone and you csn transfer stuff to and fro your com before this. Head over to the use odin for dummies thread. May have the files you need not sure xD. I'll try to find the things for you
Edit: yup its in the guide to use odin in the general section

For me i like fugumod ultra. But its your own preference for rom, i love kyorarom. Use alpha 7 . Flash kyorarom 4.0, then update thru cwm using alpha 6 zip file then update to alpha 7 using the zip file thru cwm.

HI
Congratulations! this is a beautiful fone!
All ROMS have their Advantages and disadvantages, some are most stock & stable, some are very fast, other have a lot of features, etc. Depends on what you want, There is only one way to find out. Try them all. I personally use Kyorarom.
Other than what you already know, my phone explorer software & client is very handy and indispensible.
You may check my ROM also. Based on DDJP6 with ICS touch!
Kyrillos ROM is very nice and we're expecting an huge update from kyrillos (the dev) maybe GB, it's like everything "wait and see" .
Sent from my GT-I5800 using Tapatalk
Yeah,i heard kyrillos has a very good rom.so did someone try ics ports? Are they smooth in scrolling? I think ill try kyrillos rom or kyorarom.only request i have is no touchwiz.look.i really dont like it.i more like Cyanogen,or even stock gingerbread look.
Sent from my GT-I5800 using Tapatalk
I'm using CyanogenMod 7. It's the only AOSP gingerbread ROM and is still in an Alpha stage so it has some problems.
Check all ROMs. Flash everything. Well start from Froyo ROMs. DutchMods, Vivek s etc. And then move to CM7. Well CM7 is the fastest. And in few days, Alpha 7 will be released with most of the things fixed. Now CM7.1 alpha 7 after releasing, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Check the first post of the MIUI thread.
As far as I can see MIUI.US does not have an Infuse ROM for MIUI. Which one did you flash :O
the galaxy s miui rom has been ported to the infuse independently.
op, any custom kernel on the forum eliminates 3e (stock) recovery. if you mean blue cwm then that's another story.
I would like to thank everyone for help, u all have been great and I have found what u was looking for!!

Looking for sleek stable rom

Hey guys, im .....lucky? enough to have gotten 2.3.6 on my replacement phone and upgraded wifes infuse to to 2.3.6....its horrible....looking for a stable sleek rom to go to from here. Now id love a jb rom with all the bells and whistles but reading up on it its still being mafe which i understand. But with 4 kids work and in the army times limited to flash test glash test ect. Just curious on yall veiws of the many roms i see foating around.
Currently running gb 2.3.6 official obtained from samsung kies.
Looking for a sleek, quick, stable, and eye candy is always amazing to have but gps/bt/stability is the main points. wife gets lost in the house sometimes :/ thanks and dont hit me woth a newb stick i checked before posting but on this horrible gb. Typing this has been a hassle

Many ICS roms are pretty stable and practically everything works.
I would suggest you look into uni-yuma-porn and remICS-UX .. those are my faves.
CM10 is absolutely amazing of course.. you can't beat the jelly beans
Gps works althought it causes a bit of lag when used, which would be a problem if you use it often. It's up to you really, what best fits your personal use

I don't think it matters...but don't hold me to that one issue you may have come across is rainbow recovery (discoloration or static like lines) which indicates you need GB boot loaders. But since you got official GB through Samsung Kies you should already have them (that's how I got mine)...Buuttttt!! Do you have root?

If that and superoneclick don't work for you, you may have to flash a pack through Odin that will give you root + cwm

Thanks. Could you provide links for getting the ROMS you recommend? When I go to the Cyanogen site, for example, they don't list the Infuse as a supported phone. So which one do you use to get the CM10?
Looking at the uni-yuma-porn it says to flash the Rom, then flash the GAPPS, but no clue on what GAPPS is or how to flash it.
You won't find it up in the cyanogenmod site. Our phone is not supported officially by them, but it has been developed unofficially. It works just as well as those official devices since it is build from the same repo.
All roms I mentioned are found right here on xda under infuse android development.
Gapps stands for google apps which includes the play store and many other apps such as the setup when you first boot your phone. They are often linked in every Rom that requires you flash them.

I believe the "flash gapps" is just the OP not updated. The early builds of uniporn the gapps had to be flashed separately but I believe they are included now

Just checking up on what everything is.
1. Cyanogen is an android custom firmware. -
2. aokp is an android custom rom base
3. porting simply changing the coding to fit from a similiar device to another
4. All the gb/ics/jb custom.roms.mainly run off altered and tailored versions of these 2.
5. odin used to flash and get a recovery in case of bricking.
6. clockworkmod (cwm) similar used for recovery.
So in essence from base of cyan firmware and aokp rom people make alterations and build platforms ex changing kernels, drivers, and cosmetics.
Hummm.... Believe im getting it..correct me if im wrong

Last time just tried MIUI and I can´t get the UI of ICS, Don´t remember what kind of version tired of MIUI though
Roms with aroma installers give you more options for you to customize the installation. Some frequent options are Gapps, kernels, additional apps and whatever the Chef decides to include.

can i install roms the same way i do on the tmoble gs2

so im now trying to flash liquid jb to my friends samsung infuse. i am familiar with flashing the tmobile gs2 as i have one. can i just load cwm onto the infuse 4g and load the zip file for the rom through cwm just like i do for the tmobile gs2? if not how do i flash a rom. i have been reading the sticky in the q/a section but find it pretty confusing.
The process is the same. If the Infuse is on GB, you have to go to ICS, then to JB.
Most of the threads for the ROMs have detailed instructions. Cwm is the same but follow the instructions in the op of the ROM you are using.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
The easiest way, is to use qkster one click. It will flash stock. Then you do it again with gingerbread boot loaders (if it needs them)
Link
Then in his thread you download entropys cwm one click flash. Then you flash cm9 then cm10
Cm7 is the smoothest and fastest. But doesn't have all the features. (Flash first and only if this is what you want)
Cm9 has a ton of features but is slow. Cm10 is just right. Especially 4.2 it doesn't have all of cm features yet due to 4.2 being new.
This method will not wipe pictures or music. But always back up to be safe.
