How can I watch either Avatar or Inception on my Infuse? IS there any way at all?

Rent the DVD from a Redbox /blockbuster kiosk, rip it to your computer, put it on your phone.
Videohelp.com has a bunch of guides and how-tos if you're a beginner.

DVD + Handbrake or
Blu-Ray + DVDFab HD Decrypter + Handbrake
Handbrake is free, the "HD Decrypter" component of DVDFab is also free
I posted a Handbrake profile that worked well on the Infuse ages ago, I'll try to dig it up.
use handbarke or format factory or super.
all are best and free.
will post settings later as right now running super.
Note:-infuse supports CABAC,H264/AVC1 (Keep profile max3),reference frames-2.

Can someone recommend best video formats and settings for the thunderbolt. Will it play MP4's quicktimes, or does it have a proprietary format.
Thanks.

Most mp4s should play fine on the TBolt. I've been converting most of my dvds with Handbrake using the iphone/touch profile for use on my Roku box via Roksbox. I only have a standard def TV so I chose the iphone rather than the Apple TV format to keep the file size down. Those video play perfectly and look great on my TBolt. The mongoose server Roksbox uses allows me to play them straight off my network too. Doesn't work well over 3G, but I should be getting 4G this year where I live.

a player that encode it on the phone while playing is mobo player and i use handbrake to convert it on my laptop! i think this is what you want to hear!

+ 1 for mobo player or rockplayer, with these u won't need to re encode anything.
DICE Player. Plays 720p mkvs smooth.
Look no else.
Good alternative is MoboPlayer and RockPlayer though. But if you want to watch MKVs and all that, DICE Player is what you're looking for.
Are any of them free i dont want to pay off the dtore as ibread that my bank will charge me as a import currency

Look for the post in general that I replied to someone asking the same question. Miro video converter is the easiest but no batch processing. Pick nexus preset.
Has anyone found a reliable method to play these video files on the transformer? It would often skip frames when I first bought the transformer months ago. I'm not sure if anyone has found a solution since then. I'm running primarily 720p videos. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I use DVD catalyst to convert all my video files. Dice player plays about half my 720 mkv files. but it's easy enough to convert using DVD catalyst and the finish file is about 1.5 gigs vs 5 gigs.

Dice player has been the best option for me. It made my TF complete for most of my multimedia vices.
THIS HAS BEEN COVERED BEFORE in Multiple postings.
Please use the Search in this forum as well as using google.
Thank you

I don't do much dvd ripping anymore, but when I did I used Magic DVD Ripper it worked perfectly. However the software isn't cheap, there are other options out there for ripping DVDs. Just google dvd rippers and be amazed at the choices. When using any ripper be sure to check that the file output that it creates is compatible with the device you plan to put it on. Android is simple, just download one of the many video player apps from the Google Play Store. Then it doesn't matter what output the ripper makes the file. I use MX Player currently but have used MoboPlayer.
Now for using Digital Copies there are lots of ways of putting them on the SGS4G. For simplicity I won't go into much detail, but Digital Copies normally are copy protected. Meaning that they won't usually let you put them on any device and have them work. What I do with all digital copies is just convert them to another format using Quick Media Converter. Its free and can convert to almost any known video or audio format. If the protection on the Digital Copy is preventing you from converting it you might need a program to remove the encryption from the Digital Copy.. I don't want to get into all that though.. Google is your best friend

One more word. Freemake. Easy to use and better than handbrake imho. It will convert anything and it's free. I just used it to convert a region 4 dvd to mp4. The whole process took 17 minutes and the rip is flawless. Also will convert audio files(including flac). Here's the link:

Haven't tested the program myself, but I looked through the tutorial videos. The interface looks REALLY good and everything is pretty easy to use. If I wanted to just get the job done I would definitely use it.

Hi,
New to the world of Android and loving it so far. We have two new devices. The wife has a TF300T and I have an HTC Evo 3D (Evo V technically). Would like the option to use these as remote controllers for a media center.
I was wondering if people had any media center recommendations? Should it be Android powered as well?
I was checking this out but I don't know how compatible it would be with our devices? The price is what caught my eye of course.

If your just looking for something simple that is wife friendly, how about a roku player? There is a roku remote app. I'm not sure what kind of streaming you'd be looking to do but it works for what I need (Netflix, Hulu & streaming video from my pc using playOn)

We really don't pay for any streaming services. I'd like it to be able to play any video format. Have a fairly large xvid collection. I thought being able to control it from her transformer would be a neat thing.
I agree that a Roku box is probably your simplest option, but from what I can tell it doesn't do xvid. It will play files from a USB flash or hard drive, but only files it supports (MKV and MP4 H.264, I believe).
I stream xvid using playOn. There is a cost to it though, it's $20 a year (at least it was last year)
