[Q] Dedicated Headphones? - Samsung Infuse 4G

noob
i bought an infuse without a box and with no accessories
does the infuse have a special headphones for talking?
or can I buy ANY headphones and they will do the job?
I am not talking about the headphones one would use for music (i have these for the gym and they are great).... i am talking about dedicated headphone that are used for phone calls (if there is such a thing for the infuse)
[coming from an iphone]
THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

I think any headphone with a mic and a 3.5mm jack will work, but the infuse does come with a headphone/mic

unfortunately, you got jipped man. the stock headphones they come with in the box are great for both listening to music, and receiving calls with the built-in mic.

mine came with hadphones with mic, you can prob fine some cheap on ebay

I agree. These are the best headphones+mic that I've ever used with a phone.

Honestly I thought they sounded horrible, but if they work for you!
I'd highly recommened (to the OP) going to someplace like Newegg and getting whatever is on sale. I think they have some nice Sennheiser's for like 25 dollars.

Audiophile headsets?

I use my headsets about 80% of the time... that said the oem headsets are not as loud as I would like them to be. They are ok and just that.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good audiophile headsets for around $50-$70 bucks? I saw Zagg has some but I didn't like that the volume on the headset used a sliding mechanism. I would have preffered a rocker or buttons.
I liked the zagg because it had the mic and everything. I wouldn't buy a headset without the mic for my phone.
I do use the phone as a media player (movies & music) so does anyone have any sites I could check out?

Headphone.com is my go-to source for headwear. There's a bunch of headset options in your price range.
look up Grado. they make great headphones... they have entry levels in your price range if you find them on sale.
here's a good site:
http://www.audioadvisor.com/products.asp?dept=45&sort_on=title&sort_by=&view_all=true
they're also on amazon for the same price.
Check the impedance (given in ohms)
The volume issue most likely has to do with impedance. Headsets with high impedance will have less volume than those with lower impedence. Higher impedance models will tend to last longer, though. Just something else to keep in mind.

shure has headphones made for phone usage with mic and such built in.
I've got Ety's, Shure, v-moda, Sony, Bose, etc and I keep coming back to these:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DREX300i...TF8&coliid=I2UPGX0VBD6T7G&colid=18N1HGC0EJEDW
I have the ones without the inline control, but I think I'm going to get these or go back to Bluetooth with the Motorola S-10 HD when those come out on the 28th.
Will these work for sure on the G2?? Looks like I'm going with these...
The grado's are too expensive with a mic. Its redick and the reviews I have read aren't that positive compared to the sonys.

I haven't had a chance to use those specifically, as I have the "normal" version of those to listen with (and they sound great with nice, tight bass). I went to test my v-modas with my G2, and they keep launching Subsonic rather than the stock music app, but I assume that it works just like it did on my Nexus One. The volume buttons will NOT work on the Sonys (or any others that are for the iPhone 3GS/4), but the call button should work with the music player and answer phone calls.
Kicker makes some of the best headphones. I have the EB91M. The fit very deep in my ear and have tons of bass. I got the M series so I would have a mic to use with my G2.

I have V-Moda Vibe Duos for awhile now. They've went through 3 designs the past 3 years I think. So far, the headset works pretty well but the headphones are more tuned for dance music meaning you'd have to boost midtones in the EQ to flatten the spectrum you hear. Otherwise, it has been pretty good so far.
A pair should set you back $40 - $70 depending on where you find them sold.
whenever this conversation comes up, I have to pimp the Head-Direct RE0.
$350+ sound for ~$70
I currently use:
Sony Ericsson MW-600 Stereo Bluetooth headsets -- they have a mic clip with OLED display that clips to your shirt and a stereo jack to use any headphones you want to it. They work great. Also has an FM Tuner built-in if you want to use that and can pair to two BT devices at once.
I also use Sony MDR-NC7 noise canceling headphones. They are fairly inexpensive for what they are -- $50-$70 USD (I paid 50 at Target). They have decent noise cancellation and are very comfy for long airplane rides. Sound quality is above average. Great for the price, but its not the best.
As far as earbuds, I use the ones that come with my SE BT headset and they sound pretty good. Again, not great, but good enough. The real limit factor is the phone itself. It's not the best audio player in my opinion.
Where can I find these?

NOTE: There is no microphone, which might make this pointless.
Also, if you want accurate sound reproduction, these are EXCELLENT. However, if you need ear-drum bursting bass, look elsewhere. I can honestly say these phones are some of the most accurate I've ever used, and I've bought some EXPENSIVE cans in my day.

Wired earbuds and mic combo

Has anyone gotten a earbud/microphone combination to work properly? I just got the PhillipsSHH8006/28 headset . Audio works fine, both in call and when listening to music, but the microphone doesn't seem to work at all. I plugged them in to my friend's phone and the mic worked just fine, so it seems unlikely that it's a physical problem.
I'm currently using the EE4 Gummy Charged ROM on the imnuts PBJ voodoo kernel, so it could be something with that, but I thought I'd ask in accessories first to see if anyone has had any luck.
Interested to see if anyone else comments on this. I have a set of Senneheiser headphones with the exact same problem. Weird thing is, I went into the Verizon store and the headphones worked fine on other phones (including my old Incredible) and the salesman's cheap headphone/mic set worked fine with my phone.... can't figure it out.
I've been able to get a couple of headphones w/mic working with my charge.
Just Wireless Headset - Black
Rocketfish Mobile - Hands-Free Stereo Headset - Black/Red
I got the first one from eBay for less than $2 and the other one for about $5.
I'm running on rooted EE4 with Voodoo
I went on Verizons web site and it said ibeats would work with charge....nope. I've tried the Bose...nope...gonna call Samsung.

I use diddy beats with mine, works great.
Mic works, and I have pause/play control by clicking the little remote on the cord, no volume control however.
Wow, glad I checked here first... I was just getting ready to buy a few pair of the Klipsch Image S4i earbud/mic headphones...
Has anyone actually heard from Samsung? I own the Charge and my girlfriend owns the i100 Gem (from a Verizon reseller). We go to the beach a lot and I'm looking for something we can use to listen to music and take phone calls. I was hoping the Image S4i's would be the move, since I own Klipsch speakers and the brand is outstanding.
I know the Image S4i's are certified to work on iPhones. What do you guys think?
I used a headset/mic that came with my work blackberry bold, and it worked fine (both headset and mic).
Just tried my new Etymotics HF-2 headset and it works perfectly. My voice came across loud and clear according to the other end, I could hear with the volume set low, and I could pause/play videos and end/start calls.
Operation was the same as my iphone 3gs included earbuds, but the quality reminded me of my old ER-4Ps.
Wanted to revisit this, as I never wound up buying anything (yet)...
Has anyone found a good earbud and headset combo? Anything that has functioning in-line audio controls?

just ordered rocketfish
Glad I read this thread, I just lost the bluetooth device that came with my DC and was looking into a replacement and think I would just prefer a set of phones with a mic. I ordered the Rocketfish ones mentioned earlier and will let you know of my result. They only cost a dollar too so that's a nice plus. I used to be a hardcore audiophile only listening to high-end ear buds for the subtle differences claimed by each manufacturer. These days, i'm satisfied if i even hear the slightest bass response so "quality" is not my largest concern. I currently prefer an unbranded (except for the marketing company that gave them to me) pair of ear buds to my bose ear buds.
Just got my rocket fish. I thought it was 2 earphones instead of one, but at a dollar i don't really care much, I usually listen with one.
But they work fine, and even better with the headset control app. Lets you add a variety of click combinations and functions.
Using them while i save for some if those fancy etymotics.

Am I correct in saying that Voodoo Sound only works on Froyo ROMs with Voodoo kernels, because source code is not available yet for GB kernels?
Sorry, new to Voodoo.
If you buy the voodoo control application it can add the module to stock rooted kernels so you can have voodoo sound on GB

Yeah, only think that doesn't work is the bass boost. But the newest Voodoo Control works on all 2.3.4 kernels so far, no telling whether it'll work on 2.3.5 though. Still, very much worth it if you ever use headphones, voodoo sound is awesome.
On this topic has anyone found a cheap set of wired earbuds from Walmart, Target, Bestbuy, or some other local retailer that will work with the Droid Charge and Yahoo Messenger's Voice or Video Chat?
Need to pick up a set this week but not sure which earbuds will work for the charge and which ones won't.

Best In-ear Headphones (use at gym)?

What are the best in-ear headphones that has a mic and buttons for use while on the phone? I plan on using mostly at the gym. Thanks.
Bump, I would love to know too, thats the only time I really use my pandora.
I use the ear phones with mic from my old samsung epic 4g. There in ear thus canceling outside noise and have good bass boost, heck they sound better than iPhone earphones and as far as noise canceling goes I work as a forklift driver and I can barely hear a thing.
Motorola HT820 Bluetooth - not "in-year" but perfect for gym.
JayBird Freedom JF3
These are pretty much probably the best wireless bluetooth headphones out there. Also it's only $100 dollars. You can get it at Best Buy or the website.

so do both of the above have buttons/mics that work well? I've noticed with two other headsets that they had problems with noise, in comparison with the stock headsets.
For example, using a skull candy (not the best) set, when driving the voice recognition would often not work. Whereas, the stock pair would.
If you get the UE TF10's on sale, you have to get a cord with a mic for it (cords are swappable/replaceable), but yes, it works great.

My recommendation would be to plan on spending a little money. For one thing, it will be worth it and two it might take a couple sets of buds to find a pair that fit right.
Also, for me, I don't use a mic on ear buds. I'd recommend the Backbeat 903s for phone calls. They really work great this way and I was never a fan of bluetooth earpieces before them. They also double as headphones but I found when I had an iPhone that they didn't always work as well with the phone in the pocket. I just got my Skyrocket so I need to test them out. I usually use my PX 200 II Bs for music though because they travel well for over-the-ear headphones and sound better for music than the 903s.
Those S4s someone recommended do look nice though. Amazon has a good price on the non-mic version (just S4). I'm almost tempted to buy them
The Klipish image s4 look promising, I read the review for the non mic ones and look great. The s4a are even better since they have mic and volume controls compatible with android.

I like the Klipsch S4a (especially for the price), but it is NOT noise CANCELLING. It's noise ISOLATING.
On the SR (and SGS2 for that matter), the Klipsch doesn't shine though. The IEM already produces somewhat bright sound and muddy midrange, and the SR's tendency to muffle sound doesn't really help.

It all depends on what sounds good to you! I am a beats by Dr. Dre fan and have a pair of the pro studio. I do also have a BlueAnt headset for the calls. I find it really easy to slide the headset in and fold the one headphone back a bit.
It all depends on you! I personally would use the headphones of your liking and either hold the phone towards your face and you can hear what the other end is saying via headphones; or just grab a Bluetooth headset like I have.
I would also strongly recommend an a media player that has an equalizer. I personally use Winamp Pro. but there are tons out there!
Shure SE215
I love my Shure SE210's. I've had them for a few years now. Only problem is that they are strictly phones, and not a headset. The newer model has detachable wires that can be replaced with a microphone/headset wiring. The SE215 looks to be about the same price as the aforementioned Klipsch S4A. Plus, the Shure phones are higher impedence, and considering the headphone output on this phone is pretty high, I'm not sure how good those Klipsh will sound.

Need recommendations for headphones!

I have some headphones but with a case, it won't fit because the jack thingy is too big. :/ So I want to get another one with high quality sound that fits in a Nexus 4 with a case. Thanks!

They are good. I mean the SE MW600 are actually quite good for the price. The touch volume is a bit touchy but it sounds pretty good and you can use any in ear headphones you like, even the one that doesn't fit your phone. There are updates to the MW600 so you may want to look at those too.
