There's a thread about it on this forum, and HTC asked for the link and said they'd look into it. So post your results, with as much detail as possible, here:

unfortunately you are stuck for now the HTC tool isn't working right for us, but at least some HTC people have been notified... hopefully some people that can somehow get something done about it.
the Revolutionary team has also been made aware of the new HBOOT, but they seemed to say not to hold our breath waiting for a new exploit.
hopefully something will happen soon. HTC is supposed to get back to us within a week or so, but we'll see...

I flashed the t-mobile signed stock rom PP59IMG.zip through the bootloader then proceeded to download the OTA's. After that I placed the new recovery image in the appropriate place and rebooted bootloader to prepare pushing the recovery through fastboot. What I noticed is that even after installing the OTA in a unrooted totally stock rom, S-off remains, however where "revolutionary" once was written now displays "**Locked**" , so apparently HTC has managed to relock the bootloader even though it shows S-off. It's not totally locked, as I had to reflash the PP59IMG.zip to downgrade hboot again so that I could reuse the revolutionary tool to flash the 4.0.0.8 recovery, then install CWM to update the recovery. As long as "Locked" was sitting where "revolutionary" normally is, I found it impossible to use fastboot, so my guess is security remains off but fastboot is locked. Just my guess anyway.

thats what i did. I wanted to test drive the new ota's so i flashed the tmobile signed stock rom, which removes root. Fastboot became locked after the ota's but the bootloader wasnt since i was able to just reinstall the same stock rom and used revolutionary to install the recovery. If you were s-on and took the ota before you had a chance to use revolutionary, you are stuck for now.

Buttons do not work at ALL, only in bootloader porwer and volume and power on func.
In all other modes don't work, no response in ROM, no response in Recovery, only touch control!
Track pad lights red and proximity sensor too when phone ON, no illumination from buttons.
SORRY FOR MY POOR ENGLISH!!
If power button and volume rocker work fine in bootloader mode, but not in rom and recovery, its doubtfully a hardware issue. I would suggest flashing a new recovery first (through fastboot if you have s-off) then flash a new rom. Have you tried this? Are you s-on or off? When did this happen? What have you tried to fix?

Yeah I`m S-OFF 1.44 revolutionary, now flashed TWRP because it`s touch controlled, tried GB, ICS and JB...
It happened once on GB yesterday, hard lags and not working buttons(battery was low) then reboot, charging, all ok, then I`ve flashed JB CM10, first run was ok, all good, only autofocus in camera wasn't as awesome, after reboot buttons died and no way to recover them now :crying:
I think i need to flash pg59img, full stock(boot, radio, recovery, rom) but I have a question: S-ON or not S-ON
AND YES, THANKS A LOT FOR FAST RESPONSE!! I`m living in Russia, Moscow time(gmt+4), 22:40 now
to return to stock follow this LINK
hopefully all should work then
when finished i suggest you get true radio s-off following this LINK

If you want to return your phone to stock you will be s-on, to then root your phone again, as revolutionary won't work, you will need to follow the next guide to get s-off
Maybe I'm not following your question?

tried after first flash CM10,better battery experience, but that bug is unremovable
My phone is almost bricked after todays last update.
I can enter the settings (after I slide down the menu from the top) and that's it. There is NO WAY to access the home menu or start panel - also, my HTC One S was pretty warm.
I've restarted the phone for 15-20 times but no effect...
It's branded (T-Mobile) phone, rooted and some of the bloatware was removed (nothing too important, tunel radio, soundhound, FB and games)...
Is there any chance that this is possible to repair?

Damn you! Your phone isn't even bricked it's so annoying when people say their phone is bricked when it still lives! My phone is completely dead and it won't turn on! THAT IS A BRICK! Now boot into hboot and run a stock ruu. You should be fine.

i have an htc evo shift 4g that originally had 2.3.4 on it. i successfully (i think) downgraded the system to 2.2. but every single time i try to flash the hboot_eng.nb0 to gain S-off the md5sum comes back different than its supposed to be. funny thing is, its perm-rooted somehow. i decided to go ahead and reboot anyway and attempt perm-root and it stuck. no brick, no errors, no nothing. its fine. but as far as i have read i need to have S-off to be able to flash custom roms.
am i correct in this assumption?
before anyone tries to point me to an hboot flashing tutorial, be aware i have looked at ABSOLUTELY EVERY SINGLE ONE AND FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS TO A T!!!!!
any help would be absolutely appreciated
EDIT: SOLVED
ok so after thinking i did everything right (which i sorta did) i glanced through all the tutorials again and found the answer.
CREDIT GOES TO gzetski and unbrkshft AT ANDROIDFORUMS.COM
All I had to do was re-install 2.2 per gzetski's instructions. Then I followed the rooting instructions at the top of this post as if I was running 2.3.4. It was flawless. I was able to downgrade the hboot and S-OFF. The phone is now running CM7 and the owner is quite pleased.

so basically read the instructions found HERE but follow the instructions for 2.3.4
now im happily running JellyBelly CM10 :highfive:

You don't have to be S-Off to flash custom ROMs... but it sure makes it easier. Go into bootloader and let us know exactly what it says at the top, there should be about 4 lines.
Re: [Q] Cannot for the life of me flash hboot on 2.2
Yup, if you're s-on you can flash roms but you have to flash the kernel seperately, which means you have to carry around a computer with you whenever you go on a flashing spree

That method won't work with S-on on 2.14 hboot lol
Whoever made that post should have made that clear.
In any case 2.14 has write protection, stopping you from writting the CID and the exploit for 3.18 doesn't work for non-at&T phones.
You would need to make a linux boot disk and run JET tool to downgrade your hboot and then Super CID, then S-OFF then RUU.
Also, that method is for the HTC ONE and you are in EVITA one xl forums... what phone do you have? You're all over the place -_-
