hey all, ive been running android for a long time, and am switching to wp7 (new omnia arrives this week)
i understand HTC have a built in sound enhancer app, using srs technology.
are there any 3rd party apps that serve the same purpose?
or has anybody been able to lift the sound enhancer app, and drop it into another device?
the available of an eq would be priceless to me (i know, should have bought the hd7, or the 7 pro, but from what ive heard the screen on the hd7 isnt great, and i dont really fancy a slide out keyboard)
any help, very much appreciated

Hi all,
I have an O2 stereo BT headset which is 1 year old. I used it with my prophet previously just fine with S2P. No problems when I press play etc.
Since using it on my Touch Pro, when I press play on it, both WMP/tf3d player would play simulatneously. I have to stop s2p. It is annoying to say the least. I would like to continue to use S2P than wmp/tf3d.
How come I'm having this conflict & what to do about it?
Thanks
Posted it here because I thought it may be a general question rather than a problem with S2P.
I have the same problem...
I am having the same problems and from the research it looks like the profile for the blue tooth is set to always call up Window Media. I have been using Mort Player with no issues on an older model S9 motorola stereo headset. Now with the new one no go!!! always calls up Windows Media.
I have tried different media players - looks like there was a version of pocket player 4 that bypassed this issue and cut off Windows media player. Unfortunately it jsut doesn't work for my Touch Pro 6.1 stock rom.
i am thinking if anyone out there can make this fix available it must be the XDA people...
Anyone have suggestions, hack, new profile that can fix this annoying issue??? Please???
i thought no body else had this issue but i'm sure other people have it as well.
thanks for the research. tried looking in the registry for a2dp profiles and wmp, but no luck.
Hello all.
I am a very new owner of a Samsung Captivate (I've literally only had it for two days). In fact, I'm actually fairly new to Android in general. Prior to the Captivate, the only smartphones I've owned were Windows Mobile phones and an iPhone 3GS.
I'm doing well so far, but there are a few apps that I would really like to have, but can't seem to find.
To begin, is there app that allows you to download TV shows/movies. I've had apps like this previously and it would be really nice to have a similar app for the Captivate that works at least half as well. Second is an app I had from my WinMo days; TCPMP, in particular. TCPMP had an option that allowed you to slow down or speed up music playback and I was wondering if there are any music apps that allows that on Android?
Ultimately, I appreciate all replies, and thank you in advance!
Hi is there anyone notice about the music apps frequently change or stop the music automatically when you lock the phone?
And at times it automatically call my phone contacts...

Not to completely hijack, but I too have a question about a music player and don't want to put up a new thread:
Does anyone have a recommendation for an app that is: low-resource, devoid of lockscreen freezing/dialing (no exp with this, but above poster made it sound terrible), and supports control via a2dp/bluetooth?
I frequently use my phone as my GPS in my car and would like to be able to run a music app in the background that I can control from a bluetooth headset. I assume that there are some "simple" music apps that require fewer resources in the background.
Does anyone have a recommendation? Is the sensation powerful enough that any old app should run fine in the background?
Best,
NR

PowerAMP hands down is the best application I have used, and trust me, I lost count of how many different ones I have tried. It isn't cheap though at $4.99, but give the 2 week FULL trial a test drive and see if you like it. I liked it so much I bought it. It has all the features you requested above.
Anyone know of a decent multitrack recording app for windows phone 7, for musicians such as myself?
Thanks in advance..
I used to use Meteor, but it seems to only be good for older versions of Windows Mobile..
Do tell
THANKS
Seph
after using windows 8 for a little bit and seeing their interesting take on what multi track recording and music creation could look like on a touch screen, i've had an interesting idea on a recording app for the wp7. however, i'm a bit new to the development field, and this would take some time for me to create.
so far though, no app exists that i know of.

yeah but how would you record, trough the phones mic? Multitrack recording is possible i think, although wp7 is not super good with audio.
I have some classes for a drum machinr/sampler but was not satisfied by the latency, however this might be solvedeable with some sort of offset.

Yeah, it would be for fun on the go. Can't be worse than what I used to do with Meteor on my htc touch wm6.1
I have seen some decent apps for iphones and was expecting to at least find one with wp7. I agree, there appears to be none. For now...
O well.
Multitrack Recorder for WP7
I know this thread is pretty old, but I was surprised that there hadn't been a Multitrack recording app for the Windows Phone 7 yet.
So I made one! Just search for 4-Track Recorder in the Windows Phone Marketplace. It's free!
Thanks for the inspiration!
I am looking for a music player with a good graphical equalizer. I have yet to find one that works without flaws...
(Running MIUI ROM on an Inspire 4G)
MIUI stock music player:
Sounds good, equalizer is satisfactory, but you can't tell it what folder to pull music from. It just reads the whole phone. It has a setting that you specify minimum file size for, but that's crap. Should be able to just tell it where to find music and only load that music... It also skips/cuts off etc A LOT!
PlayerPro:
This player has a really crappy equalizer. The only positive I can think of about this app is the ability to use SRS enhancement in HTC phones that have it. This one skips/cuts out music more than any other app I have tried. No matter what happens, screen turns off, like 5-20 rapid cutouts. Quality of playback is poor. Accessing certain features are a pain and needs to be able to be accessed from Menu button while in the player, not just the main screen. But the cutouts for anything happening to the phone, browsing for the next song, volume up/down. Minimizing, screen on off. Huge/a lot of cutouts in playback.
PowerAMP:
This was probably one of the better apps. Great equalizer, very direct navigation to whatever you need. But this player also suffers from the cutouts when locking/unlocking or interacting with the phone. This app does have that Buffer setting, but even set to huge (725ms) it still suffers from these cutouts. And the update that came out today.. well that just screwed it up even more...
UberMusic:
Smooth, looks pretty, can tell it's a complete rip from Zune so I know how to navigate it at least. Cutouts while navigating the phone weren't nearly as bad, or didn't happen. The problem with this app is that it doens't have an equalizer. I googled, and found out that Fede (many may know him from that scam app LPP) promised to implement an equalizer. That same dev also promised a re-write of LPP be the end of 2010 and look where LPP is at.. completely abandoned for this music app. With that history I won't buy his music app until the equalizer is implemented. But based on what he's shown with LPP I don't see that happening for 932750923 years.
WinAmp:
Loved it on my computers since middle school... But for the phone, the cut-outs are almost as bad as PlayerPro, and it also has a pretty crappy equalizer.
Anybody else know of a good/smooth music app, with no cutouts in music playback and a good equalizer?
Thanks!
What do you mean by cut out, I use pamp and really smooth no problem whatsoever

Music playback like stops/freezes whenever the screen turns off, or on, or when I unlock, or when I hit menu, or when I hit any button on the phone. If I OPEN something, like browser, it chops like crazy.
It's Depend on your phone & rom. I normally use power amp & never have the problems you mentioned. It never cut out except when receiving incoming sms or call receieved.

Try double twist. If you like it i'd highly advise buying to unlock all features.

Same problem with double-twist. Didn't even bother to check for an equalizer...
I guess the problem is with MIUI. Figured after years they'd at least have it compatible with music players that millions of people use..
Never have problems with PowerAmp here, either. Could the cutouts maybe be an issue outside of PowerAmp, like your memory card perhaps, considering that it looks like every app you use has them?
Probably a Rom issue, I have no such issues with either playerpro or poweramp

I had a similar problem a few phones back with HTC Hero and Desire. I had it underclocked on screen-off and an app-killer killing on screen off/memory killer. Both caused the music to "jump around" and/or kill the music. Underclocking sounds the more obvious issue here.
If not using either, make sure your SD card is class 4 or higher.
Poweramp had never failed me before, but now using google music on CM7 with DSP manager for the GMusic streaming...
Swyped from the past.
Discard this..
Google Music 4.0 with DSP Manager
I am using PowerAmp for an entire year and dont remember having a single cutout. You probably have a problem in your rom.
Yea I believe it might be a ROM issue, others in the ROM thread confirmed they also have this problem. I'm using the SD card that came with the phone, not sure what class it is...
Thanks for the tips!
ive tried all of the apps you mentioned except poweramp and none of them had "cutouts"
