Oh no... I don't know what I did but I did something wrong as I lost all my calendar entries, phone numbers and tasks etc.
I installed a new Windows XP version on my desktop and then Activesync, plugged my HTC TytnII to the USB-cable and pressed OK to everything (I know, I was too tired) and I think I accidentally DELETED the old partnership.
Now I'm searching for an old version of the Outlook.pst with RecoverMyFiles application, but is there a way to search the HTC TytnII for some remains of the data?
I simply depend on my contacts, calendar entries and tasks... lots of business related material in them Please help in any way you can.
I'm sorry men, My bother just did that, and had no backup..
"the most outrageous thing".. for the company to give with phone a Trial version of sync application(outlook), that stops wotking after 30, 60 days, and then you have USELESS device, that after any kind of malfunction DESTROYS LITERALLY Your Entire AGENDA, Contacts, calendar......
I'd like to Quote that sentence:
"That fact that it could be erased without any interaction from the user seems like programming incompetence that surpasses even Microsoft's ability to screw things up."
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/cms/forum/topic/29672
I Agree, Phone is supposed to be an APPLIANCE, Not WINDOWS pc braking up untill SP3 comes out!, No Automatic backup in a device??!! of the most vital data>?.. i have no will power to write about it now..
I Know some companies ARE Making up for M$ Mistakes, like HTC giving their own version of backup tool... Yet it should be hardcoded in system to make backups REGARDLESS of User interaction, kind of like system restore""
I Have also lost some important data, and found me a PIM Backup. works very well.
free, does the job MICROSOFT already TOOK Money from us to do and FAILED...miserably.
Unfortunately for MANY of "newcomers" that happens.. tired, late night, and ALL Your "life" essential data GONE!!, thanks to Activesync.. microsoft, and Bill G.
PARALYSED!!
Ech..
Seems, that nothing can be done AT ALL to get those back, unless you have copied or backed up your PIM.vol file by accident..
"NO, no system restore for PocketPC this time".. that SUCKS BIG TIME< .. Just like VISTA..
It's like selling a security box with only ONE KEY, so, when you'll brake it there will be NO WAY to recover contents of it..
"we" Have basically NO choice whatsoever to purchase alternative "security box", since like 60% or more(?) of mobile devices are WM devices..
I'm still trying to digg deeper into database structure to find any sort of way to reverse removal of records in database, or to find a log in which each operation done on database is being stored..
SLimmm chance?..
Worth taking to help The Brother out.. ;-)
Take care, and back up your PC, Microwave, fridge, "Ipod" and a car computer contents.. before it will get lost in a cyberspace "owned by M$"..

From what you wrote it sounds like all you did was delete the partnership, right? What is on your phone currently?
Yes, I deleted the partnership and my phone is currently blank. No contacts, no calendar entries... nothing
Are you using Exchange Server to connect to, or just your Windows XP box that downloads something like POP3 mail ?
If you use exchange server, your data is not lost, all you gotta do is re-establish a partnership with your Exchange Server.
If you reinstalled XP without making a *.PST export of all your Outlook files, and your PDA is now empty, you are pretty much screwed, sorry.
What you might be able to do (if your mail is hosted somewhere and you download via POP/IMAP, is get your XP box to connect to the POP3 service, get your mail, and then sync it to the device. Still , your contacts, agenda, everything will be lost.

OK, so live and learn... that's all I gotta say. Damn I hate Microsoft for not including a semiautomatic system restore/backup utility, but most of all I hate myself for not being more careful. I should've been more alert and backed up my data monthly or even weekly.
I'm off to buy a backup application asap :/
I have a HD7 running Mango with all my contacts, content, emails, apps all synced nicely with Zune / Outlook.
Decided to upgrade to the Titan (looks a bit bigger but I will get used to that and some of the apps look different as well) and was wondering if I could do a direct backup on the HD7 via Zune or a 3rd party app and then restore the image / content to the Titan.
I know my Contacts, Calendar & Hotmails will (or should do at least) all download on to the new phone and photos wont be a problem either but:
- I have an old email account still on there which is inactive (I can no longer access it therefore download them)
- SMS
- Apps
Anyone help with any ideas?
Has anyone recently moved from one WP7 model to another?
I looked at the backup app on XDA but needs to be sideloaded and will only restore to the same phone so not suitable for my needs.
Would really like to keep my SMS etc.
Thanks
Exact same question here.
Not Possible.
Zune Does not have option to backup and transfer apps at all and same for SMS.
Email I am not sure will have to look around.
There are tools you could use to do this pre-Mango (I have one, written using the same DLL as TouchXplorer, but it requires interop-unlock to use it on Mango which was tricky enough to get on my HD7 and not currently possible on the Titan). I'm afraid you're probably SOL.
The Zune backup-when-you-want-it tool does not require interop-unlock or even dev-unlock (it's a PC app, not a sideloaded phone app) but it won't help you either; Zune backups are full phone images and can only be restored to the exact device they were made from. You can't even take one between two phones of the same model, let alone different models.
So I get how the google account you associate with your phone can keep track of apps you have installed on your phone and contacts that youve chosen to sync with the account etc but how would I alter these? How do I view what apps it will reinstall in the case my phone gets lost and I grab another android? Sometimes I dont want alot of the old things I had on my phone. At the same time I like the setup I have right now and all the apps I have so I want those saved for a future restore. Ive found it pretty unclear on how to go about doing this. Any help would be much appreciated!
Hi, All.
I have had no luck and so I turn to the code hacking community in hopes that you folks will have some ideas about my problem.
In short, my wife and I upgraded from Motorola Droids to Samsung Galaxy S3's. She had kept several months worth of medical data in the calendar on her phone but she had never synced it to Google. I was attempting to copy her contacts and calendar to her new phone, so I initiated a sync between the phone and Google.
The contacts copied fine. The Calendar, not so much. It saved everything that looked like an appointment of some kind, but it lost all of the really vital entries that were tracking my wife's medication usage. Since it was a sync operation, the unfortunate end result was that the Droid deleted its own data at the end in order to match the Google calendar.
When we realized what had happened, I turned the Droid off. Too little, too late, probably, but I at least made sure that no more writing would be done to the system memory.
Is there any way to recover deleted calendar entries? I'm assuming I'm SOL but if there's any chance I need to pursue that chance.
The only product I've found online is a "phone recovery stick" that is a forensic data recovery tool that runs upwards of $200 from a place called Parben Sticks. I cannot find any reviews of this software or any examples of anyone actually using it to recover data, let alone calendar entries. If anyone can offer an educated or better yet a personal experience using this software or something similar, I'd be grateful.
Thanks for any help/advice/pointers.

Hey guys, I just updated my phone, all stock updates, no root or custom roms. Now all my music and pics are gone, as well as contacts but the messages are still there
Has this happened to anyone else, it's really stressful for me and I don't what to do :/
You're contacts should have been stored in google and when you went through the device set up after update they should have been restored after you sign into google? In the future there it's a application called my backup and it doesn't require root to use it. You can backup you're applications data and contacts that way if you are updating or things of that nature. In your contacts is there a way to see if they are stored on your sd card? It's been a long while since I was running stock but I think I remember settings that you can restore the contact's from your sd card back to your device. Look into the contract menu and see if that option is available . I'm a bit confused as to why they were not restored automatically when you signed into your google account? Being stock your very limited as to what you can and can not do. If all else fails contact your provider, they might know of a way to restore your contacts on there end. I wish I could be of more help but I'm not sure what kind of options you have available to you running stock .
Perhaps try a reset again and sign in through your google during set up and google should restore them automatically after sign in. I know when I flash roms and change my software, once I sign in the initial set up through google my contacts are all restored . This might work. It wouldn't hurt to try it. I wish you the best and hope you can get your issue resolved soon ! Hopefully they are not gone but stored to your sd card. If you have a card reader you can put the sd card in it and see which files are stored on it, including pictures. Unless the update erased them somehow. I wish I could be of more help. Best wishes.
