[Q] Neck Strap / Lanyard - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hello Everybody
I heard that T-Mobile G2X doesn't have Gorilla glass display and is delicate.
So, i am try to connect a Neck Strap / Lanyard.
But the mobile phone didn't have any provisions to connect such accessories.
Did anybody found cheap Neck strap and Lanyard accessory for this mobile phone?
There may be couple of pouch based options, but i am not interested on them.
As it would make the mobile phone appear big.

What you could do is take a case and make two holes in it. Probably better to use a hard case over soft but still

Not sure about the strap thing but the G2X does indeed have gorilla glass. Its listed in the specs on T-Mobile site. Check here and about halfway down the page click where it says Specs.

I dropped my phone on pavement and it slid, face down, for 4 feet. Not one scratch. This phone has gorilla glass.

Thank you so much for revealing this important information.
Even i suspected my mobile phone to have Gorilla Glass as i couldn't see a single scratch in the screen in spite of being a used mobile phone and it has visible wear and tear in bottom edges of the body.
I became cautious about the display's quality after seeing the below post in LG Optimus 2X forum.

Root. And flash a stable rom. Then its verry safe.
The downside is that when u drop it, the screen cracks really fast. The + side is that it is not that difficult to replace the gorilla glass by yourself. There is a nice vid of it on youtube.

omg I wanna cry.... but this is good to know.... don't drop it from ear height or perhaps shoulder height if you're a bit taller then this guy... and as long as you don't carry razor blades in your pocket, there's need for a screen protector
I hate you for making me cringe, but thanks for the post
Yeah, kinda bummed I put a screeen protector on. Prob. take it off now.
Yea I put one on and the screen didnt look as nice as when its bare. Whats the point of having these beautiful displays if u r going to cover it. I have a bare screen right now and it's amazing !!!!!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
i had a ClearProtector on my vibrant but it looked too dirty and old so i put it off and now is shiny like diamond (?)
If you guys have been in the Accessories part of the Captivate forum.. you'll hear alot of people's opinions with different screen protectors.
Such as me who's currently rocking me some PhantomSkinz.. I seriously don't notice I have a screen protector on unless I try to dig my nail into the protector lol but why would I do that!? Not to mention it doesn't really have that rubbery texture.
It's really awesome. if you're not a fan of PhantomSkinz someone said SGP skin protectors are awesome. The user even said it actually made the touchscreen much more sensitive to the touch. just a heads up for those who aren't sure about screen protectors.
The video btw shows some scratches on the device .. a lot actually.. so reconsider if you value your phone's looks
Screen protectors belong on cheap plastic panels. I enjoy my phone so much more when touching glass. Just make sure to get a BlackBerry like sleeve for putting it in your pockets. Since going bare, I will never allow plastic screen guards to deface my touch devices again.

Ok cool so there showing a euro i9000. Can anyone confirm that gorilla glass is used on the captivate? I have not seen in any reviews that samsung is using this in any of there handsets. Its a selling point. Why would they leave this out?

Lots of discussions on this in other forums. Some people swear the phone doesn't have gorilla glass, some do. The vague press release (dated the 24th of august i think) says that Samsung uses Gorilla glass in the galaxy S handset - but it doesn't mention which ones. Engadget ran the story and claimed that all US Galaxy S varieties have gorilla glass. Corning mentions that is part of the AMOLED manufacturing process.
It seems that Gorilla glass is in the phones - it would not make sense to make different AMOLED sandwiches when they are so expensive to start with - but I would love to see something official that says "The Captivate uses Gorilla Glass".

I would like to see the same. I have a small scratch on my screen from being in my pocket. Its one of those scratches you cant see unless the light reflects off the screen just right and the screen off. I know its there but its not noticable. Plus i dont ever keep anything in my pocket where my phone is other than my phone. thats why im iffy about the captivate having gorilla glass.
I got tired of having a screen protector and ripped mine off a week and a half ago. If the screen is not Gorilla Glass, its is still better than anything I have had on a phone a before. The plastic on the top front part of my phone has a few scratches on it, but I have yet to get a scratch on the screen. Only thing I am using now is the Bodyglove case. The screen feels so much better.
... Despite the fact that it is gorilla glass ( or not? ) my screen have two light small scratches on it... and i ' baby ' my phone too. >.>
This article gives confirmation:
http://www.intomobile.com/2010/08/2...ts-the-samsung-galaxy-s-super-amoled-screens/
[I wanted to post a link to my other post describing my experiences with Gorilla glass but I am not allowed to post a link, so I'll just repeat my message.]
Unfortunately I found out the hard way that Gorilla glass doesn't prevent scratches on the screen. The phone is only 2 months old, I am using it with a silicone skin and no screen-protector. The phone is always in my jeans-pocket, without anything else in it. And still there is a small scratch (2mm) and a dot...
I guess I have to go to screenprotectors. I cannot trust the claims of Samsung and Gorilla glass anymore. :-(

[Q] Sprint Screen Protectors

Anyone else using the sprint screen protectors for their epic? I just bought a pack and I'm really disappointed with them. They are just big enough to cover the screen it self. So there is no margin for error when putting them on. Also I think they are supposed to be anti-glare so make the beautiful screen of my epic hazy and almost pixelated. Any suggestions for decent clear screen protectors?
Does the epic really need a screen protector? I thought the screen was made from some super durable stuff?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
i know i made the sprint people put one on
i can take the hazyness until i get my skinomi
i recommend skinomi
Its still plastic and there are a lot of things that can scratch plastic.

I'll give skinomi a try. Thanks.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I took mine back for a refund. They just cost too much and made the screen feel unatural. They let me keep the one I had installed already until my new protectors came.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
People have been saying that the skinomi ones are too long I think... I'd recommend the phantom skinz one since I've had no problem, they have a cut out for the sensors and camera (which the skinomi does not have) and they have a lifetime guarantee.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
this is the one im talking bout i ordered one it has lifetime replacements and openings for the sensors and cam it is awesome on the htc hero so i hope it continues
Well, all I know is that at least the first batch of Skinomis didn't turn out so well. See this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=746037
Too long, but possibly good customer service? And like I said, no cutouts for the lights/sensor/camera. Skinomi has gotten plenty of good reviews for other phones, but for some reason the ones for the Epic haven't been well received.

The Sprint ones are total crap. Took mine back a few hours after I bought them.
yes they are but fools wont take it back cuz i used one

Yup! I am no doubt in the minority but I have managed to scratch my screen. It was in strange circumstances having to do with hiking on a trail (and I hardly ever hike, less have my phone out...) but scratchedy it went. No 20ft heights or bouncing. Just fell face down from my pocket on a dirt path with a pebble somewhere in there. They're not invincible, people.
lol unless ur doing stuff like that you dont need a protector
under normal use pocket car table things like that no but if ur roughing it why not protect it and get a skinomi

Scratched mine easily... I have 2g steel plugs on my lobes, and the first time i heard them click against the screen I knew I'd have a problem. sure enough, there are tiny scratches from where my ear hit the screen. My fault for not putting a protector on sooner.
Also managed to put a little hairline scratch down by the menu button, but i have no clue how i did that.

The i9070 dont have Gorilla glass!!

http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/products-with-gorilla/full-products-list
the i9070 is not on this list so it havn't got gorilla glass
yeah, so...?
So, buy a simple screen protector for $3 or so.. and that's all, no more worries.

Maybe because it' scratch resistant, not scratch-proof.
http://www.diffen.com/difference/Scratch_Proof_vs_Scratch_Resistant
And quote from the site OP linked: Due to customer agreements, we cannot identify all devices that feature Gorilla Glass. Your favorite device may include Gorilla Glass, even if you don’t see it listed.
Edit: Note II isn't listed either. Nor S Plus, or S2 Plus...
Edit2: OP's logic is terrible (not on a list -> it hasn't got it)
Guys, I found proof our phone has gorilla glass. Here " said, the screen is protected by gorilla glass, so overall the phone shouldn't prove too fragile over the longer term and certainly the chassis feels pretty solid." Got info from http://www.trustedreviews.com/samsung-galaxy-s-advance-i9070_Mobile-Phone_review
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
Well... it's a bit funny, whatever review I read, before I bought this phone, each of them wrote it's Gorilla Glass on the front.
After buying it, my second buy was a screen protector though, because the last phone of mine was a Galaxy S II, and that surely featured Gorilla Glass, but I made a scratch on the screen on its first day with me. Whatever.
About the phones plastic body: Although I'm really the plastic-protector-case-user type, on the S Advance's first 1-2 months I didn't used anything on it. I even hit a hardplastic table with my phone, and the phone wasn't even slightly sctratched. I can say its body is even harder and more solid than the S II's.
So I woundn't worry. It's not a powerful phone (signifiacant change from S II), but it's surely hard as rock!:good:
If It gonna get a highley stable Rom, I'll stick with it for a while.

If that link says that our phone "Runs older Android V3.2 Gingerbread", I wouldn't trust that source.
even gorilla glass can be scratched / broken..
screen protector is still necessary to avoid any unfortunate breakage on the phone's screen..
gravity hurts, sometimes alot!! lol..
I had an i9003 (Galaxy SL) which has Gorilla glass and the difference is huge, this phone gets scratched much more easily than phones that have this feature.
That doesn't mean it won't be broken if it falls to the ground, I'm just taking about scratches, gorilla glass won't protect your phone from heavy hits / drops, just scratches

SGP tempered glass .4mm protector

So every time I purchase a new phone I go through the same process.
I spend a significant amount of money on a screen protector for it then to scratch and realise it's more effective to keep buying cheap protectors.
Well..... This time is no different, £30 on this screen protector. I have placed the phone in my pocket a few times where there is no grit or anything that should scratch the screen and it's got light scratches......
Never again :')

File a claim with them. They will replace it. Their customer service SUCKS at their best, but keep at them. You paid good money for what was suppose to be a good product. If people keep letting companies get away with this crap, companies will keep on doing it to you...
SPIGEN is at the top of the "Doing it to you" list ( and not in the socially accepted good way ).

You can try keeping a tiny piece of anything on the screen(like a piece of tissue paper) to help the camera focus on the screen!
And try a halogen background lighting or you can first try using the flash to see if it brings out the scratches in the pic!:fingers-crossed:
I also got a scratch on the glass tR which I never know where it came from. Noticed that just 2 or 3 weeks after installing it on my phone. Very disappointed. I ordered MIME for the lifetime warranty then.

Just because it's scratch resistant it doesn't make them scratch proof. I've seen a few gorilla glass products get scratches on them. You've just been lucky. The only reason I use screen protectors (along with a case) is for a higher resale value.
I have the Glass.tr and it now has a very faint crack going from the center of my phone to the sides.. I haave never dropped it. I think it happened in my pocket.. I think maybe me sitting down or something caused my phone to flex a little bit creating the crack.. which is bull.. it is suppose to be 9h or 8h.. flexing the phone a little should cause a crack.. I mean the gorilla glass didn't crack.. anyway I sent in a request for a new one.. lets see if they will do it.. my experience with spigen is they won't reply for like a week

You have it backwards, the harder the glass, the less stress it can take while flexing. Making it thinner also reduces its capacity to remain rigid, making it much easier to flex. The hardness rating is there to prevent scratches. if you want a flexible protector, go with a quality plastic.

Draco diamond

I just received my
* DRACO DIAMOND "Premium Tempered Glass" Screen Protector - for Samsung Galaxy S4 today. So far it seems pretty cool. Appears to be just as responsive as it was prior to installing it. The thickness comes right up to the edge of the Draco Hydra aluminum bumper I have on my phone. The biggest thing I've noticed is now the home button sits quite recessed, but not a big deal. Easier to install than a normal screen protector as it is not flexible. I think having the bumper on at the time of install helped to guide it in place. At first I thought it might have dimmed the color and brightness just a tiny bit, but ten minutes later I can't tell at all. Will have to see how it fairs after some use.

CAUTION
*When removing for re-use, the adhesive properties might wear off to an extent where the screen protector will not adhere to the device. It is not recommended to reuse the GLAS.tR SLIM once it's been applied. *Using excessive force when installing or removing the screen protector may damage the product.
