Dupplicate Messages on CM6 Ascend- HELP - General Questions and Answers

Okay so I have been searching and searching, and no one seems to know anything about this. I have the Huawei Ascend on MetroPCS. I am running Cyanogen Mod 6. Everything is working great except one thing. I will get the same text messages not once, not twice, but up to ten times. IT IS ****ING ANNOYING. I really need some help on this, before I destroy my phone. If anyone has some way to get rid of this, or knows of any way or can give me any info please help me. I have tried every messaging app on the market. I am currently using the stock messaging app. Please help.
Here is my other issue. On CM6. the signal indicator is not accurate. This would not be a problem, but it makes my messaging app think 5 out of 6 messages I send, are failed. So it will say "message failed" even if it sent. So if it was actually failed, I wouldnt know because it LIES. Can someone please point me to some fix to this? It seems like it would be something simple, but apparently no one has tried to fix it. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

[Resolved] G1 Data connection issue perhaps ... help please

Newbie here needs assistance PLEASE.
My g1 is rooted and using cynogen ROM. I think older version. My text messages are not coming through. I'm missing several messages but I'm still receiving some. Usually a reply to a msg will come thru as normal. I'm also not receiving notifications of new email msgs. And when I'm in the market downloading new apps, often they will be UNSUCCESSFUL. I never had this issue before. Also, when I do download, I have to be in the market app to complete any download. Previously I could just select to download, and it would finish on its own while I used different apps. Not anymore.
Seems like its a radio issue if I understand some of this stuff. It seems intermitent, not keeping connection or something.
Please help. Any advice or suggestions is highly appreciated. Thankyou in advance.

MMS issues / App Force Close?

When I got the phone (before rooting, etc.), my sister tried to send me a picture and I never recieved it. I kind of shrugged it off as a network error.
I use Go SMS instead of the stock SMS app anyway. Every now and then, I'd get a message saying "Messaging has stopped." but it never bothered me.
Since then, I rooted and installed the CM10 preview on the phone (amazing piece of work, might I add :highfive
I had issues reciving (and sending) pictures then, but I recall specifically reading there was issues with that.
After restoring to stock, the Messenger app wouldn't even load, and force closed every single time. It forced me to use a third party texting, but since I regularly use Go SMS, not a biggie for me. But no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the messaging app to ... well work.
Also, as before, I still cannot recieve a picture. No clue why. Makes no sense for me. Sounds like a software issue, but after multiple restores / formats, I'm really not sure.
A friend of mine also had the same issue. I'm posting to see if anyone's come accross this before, AND possible solutions.
Thanks for your input guys! :good:

Just noticed someone posting something similar about this. No one has anything to report on this topic?

Invalid Destination Address (No MMS)

Okay so I have flashed both the PAC-Man and Paranoid Android rom. Everything works how it should, besides the known bugs (if any). My problem is that every time I want to send an MMS, a picture message. It takes a couple second then it just says "message not sent" Invalid Destination Address" and my message can't be sent. I restore a touch wiz rom and I can perfectly send messages and receive as well. I see people in the respective thread for each rom, and I haven't seen one complaint about this problem. I have googled this and I have found nothing besides people suggesting that maybe the number has to have all 10 digits in the contact. (ex: 213-456-7890). But how the hell does it work on Touch Wiz but not on AOSP. Also when I get to the welcome screen right after I flash the rom, it says activating phone, it just hangs there saying waiting for service to connect for like 5-10 minutes. Then it says it couldn't connect and to find a place with better service. After that I can set everything up, I can make calls, send messages and browse the internet with my 4G except send picture messages.
I really want to go over to aosp but I send allot of picture messages so this is the only thing stopping me. And yeah I'm wiping clean in recovery and everything (I would flash every rom back when I had an Og Evo 4G so I'm an expert flasher. Lol)
If anyone else experienced this or knows how to solve this can you please give me some advice or suggestion on how I can get this issue solved. I would really appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance
Anyone?

[Q] message not sent notification

Hello, long-time lurker, first-time poster. Can anybody point me to a thread that solves the irritating "message not sent" notification that comes up every once in a while? I fixed this issue once, but forgot what I did. I've been searching through the forum, but couldn't find the answer. I've tried clearing the cache, and I know I've seen elsewhere downloading the handcent sms app, but it says it isn't compatible with this device.
I'm pretty sure my previous solution found a way to identify the specific messages that didn't send and just delete them. The annoying notification, however, just takes you to the messaging app and doesn't lead you directly to the offending mssgs. Anyone know the solution? Thanks.
I can't be alone in observing this... No one else is has had this problem and solved it?
Doesn't sound familiar, did you check your outbox? It may be stuck in there...

Let me clarify: this is for text messaging only. Is there an outbox for that somewhere?
Aha, text messages! I don't believe there is an outbox, but you may find that one of your messages wasn't sent. That may require some scrolling to find it... depends on how many you've sent...

A lot, which is why I'm trying to find a more efficient method than scrolling through all of them. I know there is something because I figured it out before, but I can't remember what worked.

MMS Autoretrieve issue

Good morning,
I feel like an idiot as I can not figure this out. Since updating to MM I do not get mms notifications, I have to figure it out by opening individual messages and manually downloading them. Auto retrieve is checked in the messages settings, also notifications. I thought it was a carrier issue but I was able to get them to flash their baked rom, but still no change. Anyone else have this issue? Ive been googling it for an hour or so and not finding much that is actually useful. Thanks
