How to port an apk. - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

How can I port a deoxed gb apk to another GB ROM that is not deoxed? Cuz I try just to install it and it force close it and I already wipe everything ...well where I saw the intructions how to install it the dude say it only for deoxed GB ROM base on jhv . and I wanna see if I can port it to.another GB ROM and how? any help would be great!!
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App

You can try ripping it from another ROM, then push it by using a root manager. Just make sure the apk you want is from a deodexed GB ROM as well.

I mean thats what I did but it force closed and I wipe and fix err but dosnt work ..

Titanium BU's New Dex Feature

Big problem I just discovered with Titanium Backup that everyone should be aware of... We all know not to backup/restore system settings between Roms...
Well now TB has rolled out a new feature that let's you move the DEX information into the system folder to save space on your data partition. Sounds good, right?
However, if you do so, make sure you don't plan on ever flashing a theme, no-wipe update or any other kind of mod to your phone.
See, with those odex files now in the system partition instead of the dalvik cache, flashable updates that used to wipe the dalvik cache to prevent force closes now can't. Even doing a factory reset won't solve it, because factory reset doesn't wipe /system. You've effectively re-odexed your ROM, preventing ANY changes.
If you've already used this feature, you'll need to either flash a full-wipe ROM to remove the odex files (factory reset isn't enough), or go in and manually delete them through adb shell. If you don't, any time you flash a theme or update to your ROM that doesn't do a full wipe, you'll have force closes.
Good post. (I always avoid odexed roms) . I've used TB for 18mo., and still dont know what 70% of the features do lol. Like market doctor. What is that?

Doesn't that attach your apps to the marketplace, in case you downloaded a file that was not on the market? Im not exactly sure, but that is what my guess would be.

Well if you wipe system, you would have to re-flash because you would have no system.... which is essentially the same as re-flashing a full-wipe Rom...
The point is it breaks modding system files through normal methods (just push/flash without wiping)...
oic lol i fail'd

Reboot problem after flashing rom
I had a bout of the reboots on Zeus and Revelations that would pop up after recieving a text and i cured it by following advice from Qster
boot into cwm.
Factory reset. Wipe data. Wipe cache.
Goto /advanced: wipe dalvik and optional fix permission.
Go back to main: /mounts menu: format system, format data and format cache.
goto voodoo menu:
at the WHITE text:
toggle - voodoo lagfix next boot: ON
toggle - system conversion: ON
go to main:
two options at this point: 1. flash from sd or 2. reboot RECOVERY and then flash sd
Go for it and i think this will fix the problem

Yes you need to wipe cache and dalvik cache from CWM
(Dalvik cache can be wiped from the advanced menu in CWM)
And no you will not lose any data so no need for backup..
Just be sure you dont factory reset by mistake

And if you wanna install a custom rom then first upgrade to xxkpq also pls tell me your requirements,as in if you want all the features to work or if you are willing to sacrifice camera and wifi tethering and stuff

Try fix permission in cwm, it can help on fc.

Check in System/Apps (not in framework )
If you have got two types of file i.e. *.odex and *.apk then you are not deodexed
If you have only *.apk then you are deodexed.
To upgrade to xxkpq just download xxkpq from the development section and follow the guide(also given in development section)

What ROM are you on?
If you're on Tweaked and you're going to change themes using TweakTools, it will automatically mount /system and wipe cache plus Dalvik cache.
If you're not on Tweaked, I'd recommend wiping cache and Dalvik cache as well. You can always wipe data/factory reset as well to be safe. Remember to mount /system in CWM.
Or the easy way and just flash the rom over the top....
now you have stock theme...

As cujo said, reflash the ROM over the top without wiping anything.
A quick primer on themes: they aren't just a collection of color or image changes. They're more like mini-roms that are built on top of a specific rom version. They change a lot of core apk's to do what they do. That's the reason that themes are built for specific roms and you should never flash them on a rom for which they are not intended. It's also why if you have a theme installed and wipe data, you will still be on the theme.

No its not just the apk thats needed for it to work the Lgmms apk needs lgTelephony for mms sms etc thats why you cannot use the one from SU760 iCS thats why i added it to be deleted in updater script along with messages apk as it will fc and services.jar is modded to disable apk uid signatures needed in order for package manager to allow apk to run now you can pretty much pull apks from any other device without worrying aboud uid mismatch error
Now i understand why there is the message's bug...because despite the apk the lgTelephony for mms sms is from SU760...however thanks for your great work! Now i can't test this new fix...however i will!

Locate LGTelephonyKrOemProvider.apk in /system/app and delete it
Locate Messages.apk also in /system/app
Copy the apk's from ZIp
Reboot to Recovery i use CWM dunno about TWRP
Then in CWM mount system
then
adb shell
# rm /system/framework/services.jar
in another cmd prompt
adb push services /system/framework/
back to shell # chmod 644 /system/framework/services.jar
if you wipe data it work with no FC now the thing is the Old Messages apk left some .db database file which causes it have SQL errors hence the FC cant remember the exact path as i Just cleared the data just post Logcat so we can track down that db file and delete it.

It is in data/data/com.android.provider.telephony/databases/mmssms.db you need to delete it.
Optimus G is also working. It is very nice. Has themes And popup. I used telephonyprovider.apk from optimus 4x and G mms.apk
I can upload here so you can add it to first post.
So what you need to do is as defcomg said before:
Download zip, extract apks an copy them to /system/app/ before that backup and delete original message.apk and LGTelephonyKrOemProvider.apk. Set permissions to rw-r-r then clear data for LGMmms3.apk from /settings/app setings. Then go to data/data/com.android.provider.telephony/databases/mmssms.db and delete it.
Reboot.
