Whats happening to the roms for infuse? - Samsung Infuse 4G

There are no more devs interested on the infuse or y arent we getting anymore roms?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997R using XDA App

Because of things like this....
This is not a development thread please post non-development threads in general
Thank you

I believe the reason we aren't getting more is because you aren't making them.
So, stop complaining and get to work.

Whoa don't gotta be so harsh to the guy. If I remember that's the same reason gtgs post got locked. So he made a mistake ,big deal.
Infuse running infused v2.0.2.

To the OP - It was a legitimate question. To me, it's about development, so should be asked here, but the moderators say questions should be asked in the Q and A section.
When asked a 3 months ago, it was said the lack of ROMs was waiting for Rogers to get GB. That came and went without updates. Now the same is being said for AT&T GB, and we all know the timeline ATT runs on... the government minus 50%.
Either way, there aren't many ROMs for the infuse, so it's kinda just a wait n see thing. I'm sure the couple that have been around will stay around, but ATT's next killer phone is coming out this month or next, so Infuse is going to end up in the graveyard of cell phones past from a development perspective, IMO.

I don't think galaxy will bury the infuse. I think more people down the line will get the infuse cuzz prices will.be cheaper.

I disagree. It's like saying when the iPad 2 came out it made the iPad 1 more popular. Sure, there are some incremental sales because it's discounted, but 95% of the iPads sold within 6 months of launch have been iPad 2.
Just the nature of the beast, that's why when ATT releases proprietary releases it kills the users development ROM options :-(

The reason is because some of the more influential developers have begun looking down on "hey look I can deodex too" ROMs. I personally believe that's the problem. There should be more "hey look I can deodex too" ROMs. Without those, there is no development.
Hey, "hey look I can deodex too" propigators... read this. Pay attention here.
There needs to be more encouragement for those who want to make their own ROMs. It's a pride thing. If someone believes they did a good job, then they will continue to work and do a better job.
I whole heartedly believe that additional ROMs are required. When I get some time I will be making one. I'd like to wait until we get an official or leaked 2.3 source because I'm not a cutting edge type of guy. I'd rather work with a solid base and improve upon it.

3 Months ago this phone was but a twinkle it Rogers eye. Stop acting like a fool. As soon as the dev's (gtg) got his hands on the Rogers dump, Infused 2.0 popped up. Others are still working on their GB roms, or they are waiting for AT&T to release it. The CWM build is updated almost daily.
Seriously you have 1300 posts and if this one is any indication, none of them are worth anything.

Guys, calm down on the flaming. That being said, I don't understand the question (which btw, should be in the Q&A section). This phone is still relatively young, and we have bionix, infused, refuse, and now we even have ports for cm7 and miui. The development is about to kick off even more, and I can feel it already. Also, I don't think people who are new to development are afraid to post ROMs. I would love to post ROMs, but I need guidance on how to make them. For me, it's lack of the proper tools and guidance, not shame stopping me from development.

most important thing is we need stable roms.
used to have htc inspire and there were plenty of rom and more or less stable.
i feel infuse is not popular right now and Samsung/ATT are also to be blamed for delaying Gingerbread.
but i am counting on the devs who are working on infuse one way or the another.

This is exactly what I DON'T want to see in the development forums. This is a discussion for General, but it started out as a question, so Q&A.
BUT! It's in development. The discussion IS constructive (as long as you people keep playing nice ), so create a thread like this for discussing this in General and you can continue.

What is up with CM7 deving?

Please, we need to start CM7. It is not hard at all for this phone, even the vibrant and captivate, which came on eclair have it. And the Galaxy s 2 even has it now. Also the year old Galaxy S 19000 has it. We need to do so.
Hasn't this been discussed several times in the past two weeks? I am pretty sure it has been! It is in the works.
If it is so easy to do then why havent i seen your cm7 rom posted here yet?
and next time dont post **** like this there are like 10 of these damn threads on here.

Airfluip, I hope you're trolling.
Ohhh boy are you gonna get flamed for this.
It's not as easy as you think. Vibrant and the SGS4G are very different in many aspects.
Plus you have to consider the dev ratio from here and the Vibrant Forums. There's only like 3 devs on the SGS4G and only one working on CM7. So it wouldn't be fair to compare it to the Vibrant.
Air its really hard cause its just krylon deving it. 1 person! Other phones have like more than a couple. So one person had to make a whole new kernel new mods modems and tweaks. Just really hard. Plus you need to make sure its encoded for cwm flashablw
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
I know you make some good posts here, but you seriously sound like someone that thinks they're entitled to these things.
There's some things to consider about getting CM7. One thing is that krylon360 is building this from scratch. All the developers on this forum have mentioned that the SGS4G is very much different from the Vibrant. Another is the popularity of this device. The I9000 and Vibrant have CM7, because they're older and more people have them. Not much people wanted to make the jump to the SGS4G. Although the SGSII is newer, it had so much more popularity than the SGS4G because of its power.
So, all in all, not as easy as you think.
OK, I didn't mean to offend anyone.
A. Somebody rudely accused me and stated that why I didn't make it myself if it is so easy. Answer, because i don't have time as I am a Freshman in High School
B. I didn't even know that krylon was working on one, and I would happily help him when I have free time.
You have to understand that everyone is feeling anxious to use CM7. It has been a while since GB was launched and our phone has been here since Feb.

Yes everyone wants it but not everyone keeps asking where it is and when will it be done. Keep in mind that the sgs4g has about 3 dedicated devs. Dsexton who has his own line of roms Raver who has his own line of roms and I think does not even own the phone and krylon who works in a lot if different projects is building cm7 from scratch and just got the phone. It will come just have patience.

There is no need to make an entirely new thread asking the same question, especially when there are threads about the actual development of CM7 that you could easily be following. You should probably subscribe the the 2-3 CM7 threads on this forum, to keep yourself up to date.

You should have used the search feature. To search for a thread you created for CM7. Not a person was being verbally abusive, they were simply stating that there are several threads created on the subject, and one of which was created by you. Put simply, dev or not, if a thread is created on a subject that already exists multiple times, I will point it out. That doesn't mean I don't respect the work you devs do for us.

Should have known better then.
Lots of Infuse devs left 'cos things here got very unruly. This could be one of the reasons mods on Infuse forum are more strict that on others.
To Sqdnguns...I have been a member over a year...and had I read the rules...I would have known but I didn't...surfing for answers with issues.
I can man up and take the blame for my lack of paying attention to the rules. I meant no harm...just asking questions. Trying to gain the ability to ask tech questions too.
Regardless of how many posts or how long he has been around...that doesn't make a bean of difference to me. He could have pm'ed me like I said before and told me to chill out or something. He is still a nuisance in my book.
Now...with that said...its all irrelevant to what I am here to accomplish. I have found the answers I needed and will sit back quite again till next year.
Thanks and Merry Christmas.
Subscribed, I really want to see how this one plays out.
Ohh yea, OP, I'm guessing you will be getting that PM you were talking about.
Being ignorant to the rules of the site do not exclude you from them. If you have been lurking here for a year then you should understand that you WILL get called out for stuff... In the open and without mercy.
That all being said, I will answer your question.
Yes technically the skyrocket and the sgs2 are upgrades (even though the sgs2 came out before the infuse...worldwide atleast) but this does not mean our infuse is worthless. those other phones are upgrades indeed but the difference is hardly anything to bash your head against the wall for.
Also, get use to constantly not having the best gear, these phones come out frequently so the odd are any phone will no longer be top of the line a few months after it hits the market. Welcome to android
Tldr: grow thicker skin; read the rules; Infuse is still great; get use to upgrades coming out every few months.
carry on

Here's a more important question for you. Why do people keep putting these idiotic posts about no development in the development section? If you just can't live without ROMs to flash start learning how to make them yourself instead of complaining about it.
Alright, this is the last time Im letting this happen. The rules clearly state not to post non-development threads in the Development section. The next person who does this will be sorry.
Development is for Development, not for asking questions or making stupid statements.

[Q] Superlite or Sky ICS (the real thing)

These two ROMs, Superlite and Sky ICS seem to be the best alternatives for moving my Skyrocket to ICS. I'm not going to ask which to install, I know what you will tell me..…try them both.
I'm hoping I can get some opinion as to which is more stable, more likely to install well over my configuration without problems, which is being developed more regularly, which has more known bugs, stuff like that, battery life.
I have a 727R, that's the Rogers Skyrocket, with the latest CWM, the faux kernel, 2.6.35.14, v10m. The radio is i727UCLA3, and the ROM is UCLA3_2.3.6_rom.
I want to install with a ZIP file, without the leaked ICS via ODIN. Not sure if this matters.
So grateful to any advice.

They are both being developed regularly. Read through the threads and you will see development, bugs, and progression.
there are 100's of pages of threads from different periods in their respective developments. It's hard to keep straight what's old and what's current.
I'm looking for help, the same as I would give you if you asked. so please xcrazydx, if you have nothing of value to offer it's better you just don't waste your valuable time replying.
Its easy to try them out yourself. Everyone is different. Flash one, run it for a few days then flash the other.
PS. Don't be a jerk, and just go read for yourself. We don't owe you anything. Quit being lazy!!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Not as simple as you think. Over the last 2 weeks since the leak, there has been talk of Rogers not working, or having to install the leak first with Odin and then install a ZIP rom. Also worried about the radio with Rogers, I've heard problems with that.
So I'm nervous, and I'm looking for some help. No, you don't owe me anything. I try to help people here who I don't owe anything. It's just the decent thing to do. It's why we have discussion forums with places for questions. And how is it lazy by asking people to share experiences? Jeez, this place is turning ugly. Try to remember when you were new here.
The whole thing about it is, if you don't do the reading, you will most likely end up writing repeat questions because you didn't feel like doing the reading to fix any little issues you may have with a ROM. Reading first is like getting free experience.

You asked about 2 specific roms. If you don't have the time to read through some posts you shouldn't be here and you shouldn't be flashing anything at all. I help people all the time, but this is something you must do on your own. No reading = you asking stupid questions that have already been answered multiple times.
I gave you a courteous answer and explained they are both worked on regularly by the devs.
Which is not what I asked. Why don't you go away. I can say for certain you've turned me off this forum.
Jeff, I have read both threads completely. I don't understand why I can't ask a simple question here about experience with Rogers phones on these two ROMs coming from Gingerbread just to get confirmation that there are no major issues which were first reported when the leak came out.
And I don't understand why people who don't want to answer, feel they have to come her and criticize.
Didn't even ask about smooth ice by rem... Which i think is super awesome too... The long and short is this, all the roms are built from same base so not really any huge differences
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I can give you my opinion if that would help. I had less problems with sky ics. None are perfect. But both are better than stock.

Hahaha, I tried to help. Without reading the threads of the roms in question one cannot make an educated decision on which one is best for your needs. I even answered one of his questions. I don't get what his problem with me is.
If u want an opinion. Sky ICS. Then remove more Bloat if you want and make it more "super lite" my "opinion" is Sean updates more often and listens what people want. But it is so easy to just flash both and give both roms a try and see what "you" think is better.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Both roms are based off the same ics leak so in that regard they are equally stable. Just install the from that has more of the features u want, because from a majority perspective both have been well received
I can't comment on Sky ICS but I've been using Superlite 5.0 for a while now and I'm very satisfied with it. It's very stable and relatively bugless for me. But to repeat what others have said, it's really down to personal preference. Both roms come from the same source, therefore stability wise there isn't going to be a major difference. If it helps, I used both sean and mhx's GB roms, and I preferred the latter, which was a big part of why I went with ICS Superlite in the first place.

Flat out fastest rom out there?

I know this is kind of vague and broad, but I wanted to get your opinions on what the fastest roms are that are out there for the Verizon version of the Galaxy SIII.
I just got mine in the mail today and will be ready to root and get goin in a couple hours after the battery charges. I am coming from the Thunderbolt, may it rest in peace, and MY GOD the lag drove me crazy, so I want the quickest LEAST laggy rom for the SIII !
You've been here since 2011, you should know the difference between Q&A and Development.
this isn't development, shouldn't go here
as far as your question goes, i feel aerovans 4.2.1 is plenty fast enough....others you can tweak and screw with all you want if you have a kernel that supports OC'ing your device......only way to tell what is the fastest in your opinion is to flash each one and test it out...simple as that
edit: damnit was ninja'd of my chance to say that for the first time lol

Uh oh.. a wrong section violation. OP, hope you have a good lawyer..that's a crime punishable by death around here.
To answer the question though, people's mileage varies with ROMs. Its all in what you load with them(apps, etc.). The fastest are the AOSP ones, if you don't mind losing the bells and whistles, and putting up with the inherent bugs. Other than that, the more stripped the Touchwiz rom is, the faster it generally should be. Look around, see what one has the minimum of what you want, and give it a shot. Unlock your bootloader. Try an overclock kernel. See how it goes
lol, unless its a thread about a ROM you created, it shouldn't go in development or original development threads
if its a specific question relating to a certain ROM, ask it in that ROMs forum but beware to be flamed for not using the search function
if its a question about a theme or app and theres not a thread started in the themes & apps forum, then a question could possibly be asked in there if its relating to that only
all other questions and inquiries should be posted in the Q&A forum.......at least thats the logic i use when posting on the forums lol
It should be in q and a

This rom has been CRAZY fast on my s3. I tried Paranoid Android and Synergy too. The battery life is also insane, I got 26 hours yesterday (few hours on airplane for overnight).
While everyone is fluffing up their post counts by restating the SAME obvious information over and over for community brownie points, just thought I'd duck in and mention that the sky is generally blue, unless there are clouds in which case it may appear a color between white and dark grey.
In all seriousness though a mod will see that the thread is in the wrong section and move it accordingly. That is their job.Why 267754 people have to let that person know it's in the wrong section is beyond me.

Look the problem is if questions are posted in development then it will start to be hard keeping up with development because it will be cluttered by questions. That is why there are seperate sections.
As for them not being answered... Have you looked lately? There are many senior members who spend there time just cruising there to answer questions. Droid style, con, sdy(can't remember the rest now) to name a few. I personally spend most my time in q and a helping out with the little knowledge I have.
To the OP it depends what you mean by fast. If you mean benchmarks then stick with with tw, I prefer beans with lean kernel WAY overclocked. If real world I say AOSP based, they're light and lag free. My personnel favorite is Eclipse

What are you talking about? Did you read what I wrote I even answered the OP question. I simply pointed out the reason it does matter what forum. As a matter of fact I never even mentioned this was in the wrong spot.

I've always had really good luck with AOSP ROMS in the past on other devices as far as speed goes. Since getting my gs3 I've only tried a couple of TWIZ Roms so far and I'm really pleased with MLJBM with Lean Kernel. Its super fast and buttery smooth and battery is decent as well. With that said I've noticed in the past with previous devices that some Roms respond better on one device and not so much on another. Youre probably best off taking the advice that was mentioned earlier and try a few different ones out for yourself til you find what youre looking for

All i was getting at was instead of bashing the person for posting here just help em out and let the moderators deal with moving this to the proper area thats why there are moderators. We are supposed to be a "helpful" community.
