update 1.45.531.1 - HTC Sensation

so I went into my settings I checked for htc software update today and it said that I have 1 ready , so I now have "upgrade version 1.45.531.1"
I haven't had long to play around with it but I'm 1 of those people who definitely had a death grip issue on my wifi, and it seems fixed now.
I'm in the same spot as usual and I can grip it with both hands in landscape mode and will drop signal but it won't completely lose like it used to

I'm in southern california

same here just got update to 2.3.4 and things seem much better i still cant get rid of the voicemail symble at top tho ahhhh lol

Try this, leave yourself a voicemail and wait for the notification. Check your new voicemail and then delete.

now I'm really confused, you just said you got 2.3 .4
that's the update that they say we are supposed to be getting my date is version 1.45.531.1
Is this the same update just with 2 different names I'm really confused

Just got the update but I will not install it over my S-off, CWR, & Root. Instead I'll just flash a 2.3.4 cooked rooted Rom over in development!

The phone's firmware # is 1.45.531.1.
Part of that includes updating the OS to Android 2.3.4. That's where the 2 diff numbers are coming from.
Currently updating... *hopeful look*

Question:
I have a Sensation brought in the UK via an Ebay supplier which was £80 cheaper, new and boxed but I find it has an Asian ROM 1.35.707.1 also had free maps for various Asian countries in the box.
If I update this to the standard UK OTA 1.35.401.1 will this then update to the latest version vai the off air update, or does HTC use other means to identify the orgin of the phone and then apply the update?
I am probably going to try this route first and then update to the latest release later if and when HTC release it official for download.
Cheers,
Ant

You probably won't be able to update to anything except another asian rom via ota. You could try flashing an ruu if you don't want to root, but it depends what your cid is.

Help me please!!!
i just unrooted my htc magic vodafone 32b and installed the official mytouch build from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547133
but after i installed i saw that it was android 1.5!!!
so i dug into settings and checked for systemupdates. but it says im up to date!! how do i get the mytouch android 1.6 now?
i live in the netherlands and has a vodafone magic 32B.
please help me!
EDIT: okay i have tmobile official android 1.6 update.
but now when i try to search for system updates it immediatly displays im up to date.
i think it wont search for updates because it displays INSTANT im up to date.
with and without a data connection it says im up to date.
is this normal? or should it says 'searching for update' or something like that instant of im up to date??
Thanks
ITs prolly not very hard, but you can wait a bit since it seams that mytouch 3g gets a froyo official update tomorrow.

It seems to me that what ROM you have installed is not what matters. What matters is who your carrier is. It's T-Mobile that is pushing out this update, and since you aren't a T-Mobile subscriber, your phone won't receive the update.

The update is a service provided by T-Mobile to T-Mobile customers that have the T-Mobile branded myTouch 3G phones. It seems to me that unless you have a T-Mobile account and a T-Mobile branded myTouch, your phone will not receive the update (I'm sure they can tell what phone you have, regardless of what ROM is installed). Best of luck to you though!

It is not instant. The last time I had to unroot to send a phone back ( bad camera) it took about 2 days for the phone to see an update available. Just be patient. I do doubt you will get the OTA froyo where you are but here on XDA some one will have it posted shortly after it pushes.

[UPDATE 11.22]2.32.651.2-rootable!! + info-

2.32.651.2 is available. I got a new hero today and updated OTA to the new software. then I applied this root method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804296
ive been deleting much bloat. the update has a new baseband, new software, new PRI. kernel is the same. im sure theres more that i dont know about.
This update makes it feel fast and responsive. To me-a little smoother than the last .7 official.
sprint zone is in here...SprintZone.apk

sorry i can't tell you one or the other; however, i was curious why you're jumping on a hero instead of something like the lg optimus s which is cheaper and has gotten great reviews?
one obvious negative of picking another device is that the community isn't quite there for it yet, but... i know it is rooted at least.
also, if it's a matter of price, two of my brothers ordered their evo's from this site:
http://ordersprint.cellbenefits.com/ind/sprint/devices.html
the prices seem unreal, to be honest. but it might be worth looking at what they have available. much cheaper than direct from sprint and the lg ends up being $50 in your pocket after contract, rebates, and/or giftcards.
anyway, just a thought. i do love my hero, but this late in the game, i'd be looking to snag a slightly more modern device. or, maybe you could find one to buy from people in the forum. i know a lot of people have been upgrading recently (i'm up in a week or so, but plan to wait until after ces before i buy a new phone).
sorry for the off-topic question!

i flashed nfinite's .7 update 3.1 odex version after all that. device retained the baseband and pri versions. if i try the ota update to the new software, i get the triangle exclamation point. when i press menu, im at clockworks menu. id like to have the latest software but a new baseband is good too.
Any way to get the update other than OTA?
I'd like to have the new PRL and Baseband as I run CM.
Thanks.

Rom Manager went on fine too.
Edit: My bad, I lost root after booting. I will try your root method. Sorry
Getting the S-off again is now trickier due to the new radio baseband.
why not pull the update off your phone change the script a little sign and flash through recovery
so the new update is worth keeping? I was planning on rooting my device to get the wifi sharing option that 2.2 has but i wasn't thinking and let the new ota update go through the other day. the only difference i've seen is more lag and more battery usage. opinions?
The only way to get WiFi sharing on the hero is through rooting the hero does have a native usb tether but u have to pay for any data u use on it

Unless I'm mistaken, I think you just got pushed the HSUPA update. This part of the file name, "1_84_502_11", matches my firmware number after the HSUPA update. I don't know what number was on the firmware before the update, but my firmware is 1.84.502.11 after said update. From what I remember, the file name is exactly the one I got when I checked for it after the update was officially released last month.
EDIT: Unless of course, I'm wrong, and that's a totally new firmware update. Though I haven't seen any info on any new firmware updates for us since HSUPA.

I got the push on this via wifi yesterday afternoon also. I was assuming that this was the update that would enable installation of non market apps but I was wrong. Anyone have any additional information on this OTA update?
Personally, I do not think this is a recent update as I have been running custom roms since I bought the device but had to revert back to stock because of a warranty issue that will require me sending the device back. I think it is an update that was missed in the timeframe from February launch up until about 3 days ago.

I just referenced those numbers to mine and it IS the HSUPA update. It wasn't released till late April, so it hasn't been out that long. I just don't know if you should install it. If your sending it back, and since you reverted back to stock, maybe you should try installing it.

I just hope this doesnt effect rooting it in the future as i plan to do so.
Just got the Inspire for my wife today. Saw this update as well. She doesn't want me to root or flash anything yet. Wondering if it's ok to run this update without it affecting the ability to root and flash anything later.

• Resolves signal fluctuation.
That's the big point right there.
Once its released, we should be able to have the update baked into a custom rom and made available to root users..right?
This might be a bit of a noob question here but this update is pushed out to carriers by HTC correct? So in theory, these fixes (mainly signal fluctuation is what im worried about at the moment) will eventually get pushed out by all carriers that have this phone?
Im on Telus in Canada and still within the 14 day return period of getting a new phone until next tuesday and so far the phone is fantastic except that the signal quality is absolutely terrible which makes it pretty unusable as a phone. On a sunny day outside where i would have gotten 5 bars with my Desire, i am either getting absolutely nothing (Emergency mode/0dbm) or at best one bar (-107 dbm). I really want to keep this phone, but if a fix doesn't come before next week i might have to ditch it and get a Galaxy Nexus or something else, which i would rather not do.
It looks like they just changed the memo to June 4th now.

Would you expect it NOT to? Rooted phones not updating isn't that uncommon. Simply nandroid your current ROM (make a backup of it too), and flash a stock nandroid to get back to your original state, and it'll most likely update just fine.....whenever the update comes out, that is.

From what I read, you'll need to reflash the stock recovery, relock the bootloader and flash an RUU to remove the tampered and unlocked so the OTA will work. I'm hoping someone will get the OTA and make a zip we can flash on top of the current stock to get the fixes...

Agreed, but the issue at hand is whether or not it will flash a new kernel. As of now, i don't believe we have a way to flash a kernel, but I could be completely wrong.

update for GSM
hey!Im currently using this phone on a gsm carrier. .anyway i can update the phone directly by putting it in CDMA mode or something?Or do i need to wait for a RUU to flash? Thanks!
Has anyone been able to get the ota update from verizon ?
I went back to completely stock 4.4.4 rom with no system roms removed, stock 4.4.4 recovery and I flashed back to 4.4.4 firmware and the verizon ota updates keeps coming up that I have the latest software.
I know its out because verizon itself even shows it on the net going over the update in detail. They even show you can also get the update through the htc sync software by plugging your m8 in to yuour computer usb port and downloading the update. Which the htc sync software keeps showing no update either.
It would show a repair software option though which I tried that knowing I would still have s-off even if they did relock my bootloader because I could change my cid and use htc dev to unlock that if I needed to.
Anyone have any luck going back to stock and taking the LP ota from verizon ?

Anyone have any luck going back to stock and taking the LP ota from verizon ?

That would be most annoying if they did not. Seems like other handsets the same age have it. If this is a ploy by HTC to get you to keep buying phones I might reconsider another HTC..

The Lollipop update to the AT&T version of the M8 has VoLTE, indicating it's probably a carrier thing more than an HTC thing.
FoxFi
Does anyone know if FoxFi will still work after the Lollipop Update?
Has anyone actually received it? Droid-Life said it started rolling out last night.

Imagine Verizon ruining the experience.. like their bloatware lolz
I wonder since it has not been tweeted, and stated on the HTC site if vzw prematurely posted the update info page on their site?

The sites reporting it as already rolling out should wait until someone actually gets it.

Probably. HTC's update page still says that it's in the "3 - Certification stage of the Android Lollipop Release."
Although Mo Versi did say to expect it the first week of March. So must be close.
I just ordered an m8 from Verizon and I really hope it didn't come with lollipop.

Mo Versi replied this morning: "It's approved, you should receive the OTA soon. Thanks!"
Pretty sure one site saw that the lollipop documentation was up and just assumed the ota was released and then all the other sites just copy and pasted it and now its a runaway train. And it being approved is not the same as the update being pushed out. Pretty sure we got played as far as getting it today.

You'll be fine, just Sunshine before you accidentally hit update.
Just wait until our devs get their hands on the update that you dont shoot yourself in the foot

Will it ship with the first firmware ? (4.4.2) or the latest? (4.4.4)?

At this point your odds are 4.4.4. There is practically zero chance of it having lolligagger on it.
