[Q] What ebook reader apps are available? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been using an iPhone for a long time for one reason - Stanza Reader. By the looks of things, it might not get an update to make it compatible for iOS 5 so now, I'm reviewing my OS options. I've already found an ebook reader app on Android so just need to know what options are available for WP7. I know Kindle is available but I need something that is able to read side-loaded DRM-free ePub files. Any suggestions?

Try Freda.

Thanks for the recommendation! Don't have a WP7 device yet, but I'll definitely try that if/when I buy one.

You may try Freda in emulator...

Thanks. Didn't even know that an emulator was publicly available.

It is.. U can Download it at Microsoft.. Same place where u get application deployer..
I used to use freda & dropbox to transfer ebooks to wp7.
For those who can read Chinese, I recommend 书中圣 which can transfer ir ebooks via WiFi network..

or you can use overmedia. you can find it on the market, it's free.

Hi,
You can try "eBook Reader Plus - Your Free eBook Reader app". It's nice, with the search box on it you can find and download your favorite book in pdf format. There are nearly 10,000 books available in it right now, more are being added. With other essential features, the app is really so cool.
You can find it on Google Play or Google searching by the name.

Adobe Acroabt Reader 2.5 for your HD2 should be included in your HD2 already if you just want to read PDF....

What's the advantage of foxit? On Windows, I used to use Foxit, because it is smaller and faster. But HD2 has Adobe lite in ROM, so no matter how small foxit is, it takes some storage. What do I gain with Foxit on WM?
Tried Foxit and it looks rubbish, like it was designed for winmo 5 . Is there anything a bit more up to date?
Would ideally like just something like Adobe Reader LE which had bookmarking capability

I could't find anything better than Adobe in usability and Foxit in speed.
Aren't there anything new?

As we're talking about the Officiel IMdb app, it's not that hard to guess that we're talking about the one with the dev tagged as "IMDb".

I think it may only be available in the US.
kinda sucks that there is no access to the boards...the app is rather useless to me without board access...
other than that, very nice app, nice interface, doesn't look like an iPhone rip (though it may be)
4/5 stars.
here's the QR Code

Need some help finding an offline newsreader

Hey
I currently use newsroom on my note. It works but two things really bug me. It has not been updated in a long time and does not fill the screen. Does not show well on the note bigger screen.
Anyway I just need something that can automatically download new articles everyday so that I can read offline. I tried greader but you have to manually choose read offline with each article you want. Basically I need something that downloads full articles everyday on its own.
Can anyone recommend something that can do this?

I installed it but it doesn't seem to download the full article, just the first few sentences?
I used greader for a long time. It does download full articles. Very useful for offline reading.
However lately I realise that I am online 24x7 and can do without it.
Now use feedly which has a better interface but no offline support
@Taptalk-GalaxyNote
Yeah I figured it out thanks. I have very unreliable edge service in my area so having content available offline is a godsend.

been using taptu for a while now , try it , can do offline rss as well
I installed a bunch of newsreaders and I finally settled on JustReader. It is downloading articles for offline viewing really well. I like the tablet mode feature, not bad with the big galaxy note screen......

Here it is .
Thanks phil. The app install fine and opens too. Unfortunately it needs a US credit card too, even during the 30 day free trial. Sadly it doesn't accept my international card.
Anyway, thanks for the help man.
hahah i was just about to create a thread about this app!
i downloaded it last night and played around with the free trial. i'm glad that there's finally a decent magazine reading app for the android that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
the only downside is that it was crashing a lot when downloading the magazines. once the magazine is downloaded though, the interface can rival the ipad's magazine reading apps with embedded video and what not. flipping pages can be a little bit smoother too, as large articles take about 2 seconds to load sometimes.
has anyone else given this a try?
Google Play is now saying it is incompatible with Transformer TF101. I find this really odd....
Yeah, for some reason the market won't let you download this if you're using certain devices (Transformer, Transformer Prime, etc). I contacted Next Issue about this and they sent me a real helpful link that has the actual apk available for download:
http://support.nextissue.com/Knowle...ported--how-do-i-get-next-issue-for-my-tablet
I know someone already posted the apk, but I figured this would be a link to the actual, legit source
fyi: the current apk can be download from their official site: http://support.nextissue.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/166/

This is a 2013 thread and the app isn't even in the play store anymore
Is that app still working? I need to find something similar to create a project on home renovating. If you guys can suggest me any ideas, I will be very thankful for that. I'd like to see my old Persian rugs from DorisLeslieBlau gallery in a new design of my living room. That is why I want to find an app or a website where I can use real things or their prototypes to understand clearly how they will look in a real life.
