problem with X10 down grade from 2.3 to 2.1 - General Questions and Answers

Hello...
plz! need a help ..
I've been trying to downgrade my x10 from 2.3 into 2.1....cos i faced the sudden reboot problem after this update. It occurs during browsing & when i show videos at youtube.com..some heat is also felt at the back of the phone.
so i tried the flash tool way to help downgrading...but the problem is when i Click the "X10FlashTool" icon, nothing is happening & it's not opening!!
so plz i need ur help with this..
notes:
- I've never faced this problem before the update!
-my phone is not rooted.

X10 has official 2.3?

^^
(Gingerbread) ,dear

I didn't even realize that SE was actually going to push an official 2.3 update (I gave up on my gf's phone when they said that they weren't going to release anything after the 2.1 dualtouch)!
(Also, thanks "dear". God, it's weird when someone other than old women say that to me)
Anyways, it seems that flashtool 0.3 only works on android 2.1 devices. I think you might be stuck since your phone isn't rooted though...
*edit* Can you try to "repair" the phone using SE PC Companion? Some other people got problems updating apparently but they fixed it through SE PCC

[Q] Some please help me how do i recover my phone :(

Guys im really worried wt to do....
i had xperia x10 mini pro with android 2.1
i rooted and flashed it with cyanogenmod7 v3.4
bt the radio wsnt wrking so i again flashed it with MiniCM Beta 2
after i rebooted cell from xrecovery once the flashing of MiniCM was done i cant access the touchscreen i.e it says touch the android to begin but when i touch nothing happens.....and also now i cant even go to xrecovery....i tried many times.....someone please help :'(
I would suggest just repairing (i.e. completely reinstalling) your phone using Sony Ericsson's PC Companion or Update Service utility.
What it does is wipe out everything and install a fresh default operating system. Then take it from there.
Would suggest using FlashTool if you want to root the device and install XRecovery. Its an all in one solution for beginners who want to root and do all the nerdy stuff Just search for it on the XDA forums.
Hope this helps. Good luck

[Q] Unable to get stable Working ROM

Hi All,
I own a Motorola Defy. I am kind of new to android developement. i had 2.2 on my phone and wanted to upgrade, followed all the steps available online for cyanogen 7.1, liquid arc, etc. with all the ROM's i had the same problem. Everything goes fine, until i reboot my phone. The moment i do that after installing new ROM. I loose network connectivity and a pop up msg comes up continously saying android.phone.com stopped responding. From there i have to do the complete wipe once again. i read in some forum about flashing radio, however i dont see this option in my recovery mode at all.
Anybody who knows how to resolve this????????
I looked this up in the forums. This applies to going from 2.1 to 2.2, but sounds like it may help you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947578
Thank you for the reply.
However, I was already running Froyo on my defy. I can also go back to that via RSD or by restoring it to the ROM i backedup before i started this testing. My concern is why i am not able to Install this custom ROM and make it working when all others can do it without any issues. I am still running Cyanogen nightly ROM (2.3.7). I also know the moment i restart my phone it will loose network connectivity and will keep getting those pop msgs. Is there a way to curb that.
Appreciate the help...
You can look for MIUI for the defy. I have also MIUI on my Defy and it works perfect

Thanks for your reply....
I was missing the defy baseband update. Thank fully that fixed the network connectivity issue. Now i am running ICS 4.0.1 perfectly. Except the camera everything is working smooth. Had little issue with restore from Titanum backup. But an unregistered version of TB fixed it.

[Q] [HELP] G2x on 2.2.2 CANT UPDATE?!?

I have a g2x on the 2.2.2 android version. I tried software updating from the phone but it always gives me -Current version is the latest version- which is definitely not true. How can I fix this? I tried rebooting and hard resetting but nothing works. Also, I cannot do the LG updater thing from the site cause I don't have a laptop or PC I just want to do it manually from the phone I know there's a way. Any help is appreciated!
Could you tell me the device manager server settings for the update? I could tell you how to get to them.

I read that you have to be on 2.3.3 to get the 2.3.4 update. You will need a computer, beg, borrow one.

[MIRO] Problem with the SIM card

To start of, I have been into rooting, installing custom ROMs and everything regarding it for quite a while but never ran into a problem like this. After Love posted his MIUI V5 I downloaded it and installed it. When it booted up I couldn`t unlock my SIM card due to a resolution error, you can`t see the "OK" nor "0" button. Then I switched to the Paranoid Android ROM ported and it booted up successfully. I went into options and changed settings regarding interface from "Phone mode" to "Phablet mode" as much as I remember it was the only thing I have done... Then when I had to reboot the phone, when it booted up, I inserted my PIN, but it showed something like "SIM card not inserted" and there was a popup which allowed me to reboot the phone. Now I can`t do anything about the problem. Tried switching back to the stock firmware and there I can unlock the SIM card without the "Reboot" prompt but still have no 3G access nor access to my contacts. I am asking you if you know anything about such a problem and if you have a fix for it. I also tried inserting a SIM from another phone, same problem- its not my SIM that is causing the problem. I think that it could do something with the radio, perhaps a component got corrupted somehow. Would really appreciate your help!
i also have the same problem on tipo caused from touchwiz rom, i am afraid only sony center are fixing this problem
I have spoken with my bro that has a Sony Erricsson Xperia X8 about the problem. He had the exactly same problem and he tried the same things as I did, but managed to fix the problem by relocking the bootloader and again unlocking it for further ROM installing. I will try and keep you updated.
Still nothing, nothing seems to help. Not even relocking the bootloader. Come on devs, can anyone at least try to assist us here? There seems to be something wrong with updating to another ROM. I would really appreciate some help here!
well yes i have also tried that locking and unlocking the BL, not just once about 10 times but still nothing, i tried almost everything and still have no clue, how to fix this
There is a fault in the ROMs, whichever caused this problem. I also saw the same thing happened to a Xperia J user with the MIUI v4.
Came across this today, I think some bring to light the issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39845122
Nice find mate. So basically we need the stock radio files that we can flash in order for the SIM card to work again? Correct me if I am mistaken, in case I am not, can any of the devs look into it to try providing us with the radio file? I am not really keen in waiting a month until the phone gets repaired... Anyone?
I think that i have the same problem with my Xperia TIPO. After unlocking the bootloader and try some ROMs i found that i can´t do any calls.
I have try with a stock rom and another rom, but it doesn´t work. And the problem is not the sim card...
I am going to try relocking the bootloader, but it looks that the problem is going to stand there.
P.S: Sorry about my English
Well, it certainly seems you have the same problem. I would like to point out at this problem as it seems that everyone will have this problem when flashing a couple of ROMs...
Here is a topic regarding the same problem but with the exception that it is a problem the guy has on an Xperia S instead of Miro. It seems that the MIUI v4 3.1.11 ROM fixed the problem for another user(reply number 3 or 4 in the link). One of the repliers copy-pasted a probable fix but the download link for the provided radio modules are down. I sent a PM to Love if he can get his MIUI V4 3.1.11 download link back online. Will post for further updates!
Any luck with this? I have the same problem on my Tipo, and have had it for a while now. I outlined my problem here. I have had contact with devitrified, who has the same problem, and he has some more details here.
In any case, it is heartening to know there's more people with this problem.
i believe there are many people with this problem... i didnt figured out fix almost 2 months

First of all thanks for posting something so everyone get to know that this problem exists, it seems like devs don`t really care or aren`t doing much to fix it. I hope that by time a lot of people will get this problem and that it will be fixed soon.
Is there any fix for this already?
It's really weird that no one said anything about this yet, since it's a problem that's being more and more widespread.
I have got a confirmation from the above poster that the problem stated in this topic started after flashing the Paranoid Android ROM for Sony Xperia Miro device. Can anyone else confirm the same thing?

mine problem became after installing touchwiz rom for tipo
This happened to me on Tipo (ST21i). I Flashed paranoid android fine, could a make call. Went looking around the settings and saw the page of DOOM, as i'm calling it, and there was no box checked, so I hit Phone mode and it asked whether it should reboot. I said yes, and then it broke. I thought it was the kernel so flashed pure CM10 kernel, which is what this port of P.A. was based on, and that didn't work, so I flashed MIUI port, but didn't do the kernel flashing, so it was on the CM10 Kernel. That didn't work and I couldn't enter my sim pin to try anyway, So I've flashed it again after flashing the kernel properly. Still didn't work. My grandad & mum are gonna be so angry. and it looks like I can't revert to stock, and Without stock it will cost a fortune to send it to sony. :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: :crying: . Keep me posted if you find a download for the modules.

Restoring the milestone to the original ROM

Hi,
Snce all the Android 4 ROMs i tested were not working oe way or another i was decided to switch my GFs phone back to stock.
Just to make sure i do the right thing; I just grab the (german retail) sbf, the RSD tool and then connect the phone to the computer and use the tool to flash said sbf?
Anything else?
Thanks in advance
That's right. Too bad android 4 didn't work out.

Yeah.. it is strange.. 4.1.2 had the same bugs i know from my Huawei phone like "auto rotation" eating up battery draining it so hard, that een while connected to power the battery was drained..
4.2.3 worked fine for a few days but with the drawback that the camera was mirrored (and she uses the camera a lot) - plus after a few days the system wen very very slow. Cant see any reason for that, but it went so slow, that unlocking took up to a minute just to see trebuchet crash... bad luck.
4.4 ended up in a bootloop.. so nothing to use either :/
So its back to stock..
mmh... looks like something was wrong in each update... I have used 4.1.2 for more than 1 year and had no problem, 4.4 for about 2 weeks and everything looks fine till now, so maybe something is wrong from hardware point of view or something went wrong during the update... my advice is to flash a stock rom and start over with the modding process following precisely each step In case you want a 2.3 rom, you can try Cyanogen 7 from Tezet that I remember was very good!
