went to froyo how to go stock

I followed the directions and went to froyo if i want to go stock what do i need to do?
thanks
Try this [STOCK ROM] Odin3 One-Click Downloader and Drivers CAPTIVATE ONLY
Good luck!
Make sure you back everything up first. The Odin3 will wipe everything out.

Good advice, but I assumed that if they could go to Froyo they could also read the OP of the Odin post.

I did that then I went in to check for any updates. It went threw the hole deal then said up date not completed? will I not be able to get the official 2.2 when its released? the only reason I went back is the unofficial one kept freezing up on me
Trouble with recovery mode
I'm trying to flash Cognition V2.3B1 while using Rom Manger and I get the following message: E:failed to verify whole-file signatureE: signature verification failed Installation aborted I have backed up titanium and I currently have the following on my Captivate:Firmware 2.2Baseband I897UCJI6Kernel 2.6.32.6Build FROYO.UCIJ6I've tried to root following a few posts, using ODIN, to swap kernels but get the same message.Any help is greatly appreciated.
Did you ever figure out how to solve the E:failed to verify whole-file signature issue? I've been trying for a couple of weeks now. Did you revert back to stock rom? Please lmk. thanks.

You have to reflash clockwork and re-install packages, then try to flash the rom from rom manager.

I don't know if ur recovery has this option, but on CWM you can turn the verification process off, if u are sure your file is ok.
I flashed a new kernel too today and i had to try it 3 times in a row until the flashprocess proceeded.
Sorry 4 my english, not a native speaker
it doesn't it's the Recovery from the stock HTC sensation. I dunno how to flash the su.
Flash from Clockwork
EDIT: have you checked the MD5? Should be

If u have already S-OFF try to install ClockworkRecovery.
Follow Step 2:
-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
done fixed.
I received an error in cwm also, but after reboot everything worked.
I recieved the same error but I remembered the same thing happening with the update.zip on my old vibrant so .. I installed it twice. When it errors out the first time, select it again and install. Worked for me...

signature verification failed when trying to flash rom

I rooted my sidekick with SuperOneClick. I downloaded glorious overdose v2 to the root of my sd card. when I go into the stock recovery (which is blue), I clear my data and cache. the only other option to flash the rom is 'reinstall packages.' So I click it and I get an error message saying
'E: failed to open /mnt/internal_sd/update.zip (No such file or directory)
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.'
Did I do something wrong?
You need to put cwm recovery on your phone, and then when you reinstall packages, you will go to cwm, then you can flash the rom.

i actually have the exact same problem but i have CWM ........or at least i think.........i flashed it from rom manager......but i'm not sure if it works...........plz help....its urgent :crying:
Use the search bar and read the forum.
FYI: Installing from that app won't work.

I've used search and still can't figure it out. Rooting

I rooted my Captivate but got the
e:failed to verify whole-file signature
e: signature verification failed
error in CWR.
I tried Odin 3v1.85 and when I put the phone into download mode, Odin has 1 yellow box with 0 comm 9.
Rooting with Super1 click still gives me
e:failed to verify whole-file signature
e: signature verification failed
I tried 3e_recovery to fix the 3e error.
I want to flash a ROM but an stuck on how to successfully root the device.
Running stock Froyo 2.2 Kernal version 2.6.32.9
What am I doing wrong?
You could download a Froyo kernel with root, and then flash it with Odin. Your root and recovery problems will be solved...
here is a guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350266
OP...use TRusselo's Guide linked by -SGA-. There is no need to get Root first in order to flash a Rom.
That guide is up to date and is all u need to follow to get to a custom Rom.

[Q] E:signature verification failed -- in System Recovery

I tried to run CWM in System Recovery but everytime I try to install a ZIP file I get:
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
I read over several posts on this subject but cannot figure it out.
I have:
Samsung Infuse
Gingerbread - installed after I had bricked my phone - UCLB3_Unbrick_root_1.1.zip
My Android Recovery Menu is blue - <3e>
When in my phone, I can run Terminal and get a Linux prompt - so I assume that means its rooted.
Wanting to get CWM.zip installed so I can go on to installing ICS and then on to JB.
Any ideas on how to get passed this roadblock?
Thanks
Carl
