can't flash su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip - HTC Sensation

It says e: signature verification failed. S-off but no Root. Btw doing this from recovery 3e

It means you have a corrupt file. Re-download and try again.

I don't know if ur recovery has this option, but on CWM you can turn the verification process off, if u are sure your file is ok.
I flashed a new kernel too today and i had to try it 3 times in a row until the flashprocess proceeded.
Sorry 4 my english, not a native speaker

it doesn't it's the Recovery from the stock HTC sensation. I dunno how to flash the su.

Flash from Clockwork
EDIT: have you checked the MD5? Should be

If u have already S-OFF try to install ClockworkRecovery.
Follow Step 2:
-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300

done fixed.

I received an error in cwm also, but after reboot everything worked.

I recieved the same error but I remembered the same thing happening with the update.zip on my old vibrant so .. I installed it twice. When it errors out the first time, select it again and install. Worked for me...

Help with flashing first ROM

iv read the how to guide, it was very helpfull, however when i put my clockwork file to my sd and name it update.zip, and try to re install packages at the recovery menu i get this error:
E: failed to verify whole-files signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted
iv read that once i get to clockwork i can turn signatures off.. is there a way to do that with the recovery menu? thanks alot
You gotta search for the process on changing that sig requirement. I just did my first flash too. Its not hard @ all. After you change that file out, clockwork will work. Good luck. Im on my phone, but ill try to look for the quote on what to do for that sig stuff for you.

Search for "[recovery] 3e recovery modded w/ no verification" to download the file and these are the exact steps I followed: good luck.

@davidis57: i had the same problem as you did... but i just followed existz's instructions and got it to work
delete the update.zip in the sdcard root
delete the recovery in system/bin
paste the new recovery in system/bin
open rom manager and reinstall clockwork (even if it says it's already installed)
select 'reboot into recover', and it will take you to 3e recovery
select reinstall packages - this will take you to clockwork
big thanks to existz. works on rogers captivate on stock froyo.

Ummm lol. Haven't read anything on that... Try posting that question on the q and a section. Or try re doing cwm. Orr if its really messed up, flash back to stock and start over.. Oorr just wait for another response.

evo noob needs help!!

im currently rooted via visionary and i want to go bak to stock ruu. my phone doesnt seem to connect to my computer every since the root and i cant use htc sync to run the ruu. i have sdk tools and when i try and download the drivers it says that i already have the updated driver (which i dont it comes up as unknown device) the only reason i want to unroot is to see if that will solve the connection to comp problem. i tried to flash the pc36img but that comes up bad and installation is aborted
any suggesstions on ways to either unroot or get drivers up and rolling?

Put the zip file on the root of your sdcard power the phone off hold volume down and power it will boot to bootloader then it will search for the file once it finds it it should ask you to hit up I think to apply and once its done reboot it....bootloader and recovery are different

I had the same problem at first try to use a different sd card. Make sure its a blank card and format it using the phone or your computer, then put the file on the card and try to load it in the bootloader.

Your going to lol when you figure out why you can't flash the zip. Recovery doesn't like spaces in your path(s). */ruu image/*
You need to remove the space. Example: */ruuimage/* or */ruu_image/* or */ruu-image/*
Something to this effect will fix the issue

I also forgot and it should have been listed I think you have to be on a sense rom in order for bootloader to load the file it should only be nammed pc06img.zip on the root of your sd card and bootloader should automatically do its thing, newkidds ruu don't get "flashed"

steps
1. rename zip to PC06IMG.zip
2. put on ROOT of sdcard (not in any folder)
3. power off phone
4. power on phone while holding vol. down
5. Once bootloader comes up (white screen with green/black/red text) it will initialize the sequence and automatically flash the zip. YOU DO NOT FLASH THIS ZIP IN RECOVERY
it says model id incorrect and when all of the image names pops up when it reads the sd card all of them say PG not PC so i switch it and when try and load it thats what it says?
is the image wrong ?
does anyone have the right image?
thanks again

signature verification failed when trying to flash rom

I rooted my sidekick with SuperOneClick. I downloaded glorious overdose v2 to the root of my sd card. when I go into the stock recovery (which is blue), I clear my data and cache. the only other option to flash the rom is 'reinstall packages.' So I click it and I get an error message saying
'E: failed to open /mnt/internal_sd/update.zip (No such file or directory)
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.'
Did I do something wrong?
You need to put cwm recovery on your phone, and then when you reinstall packages, you will go to cwm, then you can flash the rom.

[Q] [Sidekick 4g] ISSUES FLASHING CWM RECOVERY. HELP??

okay so im having a little trouble flashing cwm recovery on my sidekick 4g. i tried the rom manager method,. i tried the method where you change the recovery image manually. havent had no luck at all. when i go to my stock recovery to "reinstall packages all it says is "E:failed to verify whole file signature
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted.
help??? please and thank you..
Im having the same issue hoping this can be resolved
I have had so many isssues with this phone.
Last night actually, I had a similar problem.
I had to format my sd card (don't forget to back it up) and then restore the phone to stock firmware.
Then I rooted the phone again (a file called sk4g with good recovery).
Redownloaded rom manager.
Flashed clockwork recovery.
Rebooted into restore.
Reinstalled packages.
Seems to be working fine now.
All the files you need are in the sidekick forums on this page.
This is possibly the best website I have come across.

Can't flash roms/semi-bricked

Ok, so i've done this before and i *thought* i knew what i was doing... so i unlocked my bootloader on the htcdev page, then i flashed TWRP recovery and, i thought i rooted my phone by rebooting into recovery and flashing SuperSU. So after that I went ahead and wiped my entire phone essentially, and tried to flash Cyanogenmod, but all it does is saying this:
Installing '/sdcard/ROMetc/cm-10.2.0-ville.zip'...
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found.
Updating partition details...
And then it claims to be done... ofcourse it's not working. All it does when i reboot is show the HTC bootscreen and turn off. As you can see i need help badly, anyone know what I can do?
Hi,
Try to flash another recovery like CWM.
I had this kind of fail when installing cyanogenmod last time.

what version of twrp did you flash? i would also recommend, that you install cmw and try again.
