Innocell 3000mAh Extended Life Battery
It has been quite some time now since this was announced, is anyone else as anxious as I am? Hopefully when it is released we will start seeing different battery covers coming out. Just thought I would get some other people's input.

I couldn't care less. I get 24+ hours on my battery now, with chargers in everyplace I frequent throughout the day and a spare charger in my laptop bag for those emergency moments.
I seriously doubt you really use your phone very much. The only time I got 24 hours out of my battery was when it sat unused an entire day.
For the rest of us that actually want to use a smartphone that isn't crippled, this extended life battery is a huge deal. So yes, OP, I check their website every week to see if I somehow missed the announcement. I can't wait!

I broke down and bought the 3500mah from ebay, but no cover
I wanna use the phone how I wanna use it, and not need to worry bout battery being to low to listen to music or take a pic.

I'm glad that there are some other people who are waiting for this, I for one am tired of charging my phone halfway through the day only to have it die again before I go to bed. This battery better come out soon, come on Seidio!!!
Sent from my soon to be 1.6ghz Epic 4G
I remeber that the sedio battery used to say 3200mah. I have heard nothing but good about the sedio battery for evo. I know it adds bulk, but how bad can it be.

This battery, coupled with my two spares and the original might actually let me go away for a week (almost) without being near electricity. That'd be cool.
this would be nice.... I am sucking down 2 and a half batteries a day......

x2, atleast i'm not the only one that knows how to manage their cell phone battery life.
Right now i'm sitting at 80% with 3h 52m on, time without signal at 1%, screen on time of 16 minutes voice calls of 7 minutes, and I've been listening to music on my phone from the SDcard for about 20 minutes.
If you actually take the time to set up your phone correctly, you can save a ton of battery life. I use tasker to accomplish a majority of these tasks. For instance, when angry birds is being played i have the phone automatically adjust the brightness to a slightly higher level and i have it turn off the data connections and wifi. Then when i exit it returns the phone to the state it was in before angry birds. I have a ton of these profiles set up.
how many people will take the time for that?
also are you running a custom kernel?

Phoenix 1.43 right now. And it takes a few minutes to set pretty much everything up. I just set them up as I need them.
Battery life isn't the worst, but for me its inconsistant. One day I will make trough a day, next day ill get half.
I know it will get better with froyo and updated kernals and roms.
The touch pro 2 had great battery, I always had gps on and palringo going and didn't have to worry about battery.
The other day I was in vegas taking pics with some random person, I was able to take one, while trying to take another

I had the same issue. I found that it was something causing the battery not to go to sleep. For me, the music player (Fascinate one from EE rom) would start CorePlayerServices which would run and not allow the phone to sleep. As long as that service is running, my phone wasn't sleeping correctly. There are other things that cause this not sleeping problem as well, but that is the only one I have identified personally.

You are misunderstanding the reasons why I want this battery. Yes I could set up my phone to last for a whole day no problem, but that would severely limit the amount of time that I spend on it and the purpose for which I use it so often. I am constantly testing and flashing new zips over and over and over, which will drain the battery tremendously as it is. Testing a 32 x 32 icon on a 480x800 screen is straining on the eyes when the brightness is turned all the way down, so that must be up to see the fine details of images that I have edited.
I understand that it is completely possible to make my phone last much longer than it currently is, but taking the steps necessary to do so would thus render it useless for the tasks that I am trying to accomplish. I live off of my phone because I can and choose to do so, it is my hobby to develop custom themes/ROMs for the Epic and I don't plan on stopping just to have my battery life last 2x longer.
When this comes out it will mean the difference between being able to do whatever I want on my phone for 8-10 hours under very heavy use and only being able to make it last for less than 6 hours. IMO this is significantly to my advantage.
what is med usage to you?
I am testing out a 1800mAh battery for my Epic 4G and will report the results.
I just got this in from a friend overseas and I am fully charging it now.
The battery does NOT require a separate cover, so this is nice. I'll let you know how the battery performs as soon as I can.
Right now I am using the Syndicate ROM along with Vision Kernel v1.1
I usually have my phone clocked at Ondemand with SetCpu with a max of 1300 and min of 200.
I also have profiles set for when the screen is off at 200min and 400 max. My brightness is down about 1/4. I have K9 mail poll every 30min and Plume twitter client poll every hour. Missed reminder usually runs along with MSNBCs air mail to pull any breaking news, and I am running Zeam Launcher.
On a full charge with the stock battery I can get between 19 and 30hrs depending on what I do. The 30hrs I can usually achieve with not much activity and the phone will usually be around 14% at the 30hrs. I do leave my phones data on all the time, so that is without turning the power off at night.
Anyway, that's just a little info on my configuration.
Will report new 1800mAh battery in the next day or so, or as I go along throughout the day.

When you are done testing the battery can you provide a picture of it or maybe take a picture of the battery in the phone. Thanks.
So here are my pictures from my battery usage for the 1800mAh battery. Again, the phone is running the apps listed in the OP and The usage will consist of checking tweets, texting and a few market update checks.
If you are looking for a battery like this one, I can probably get them for you at around $15 a battery. This all depends on how many people want them. While you're not going to get 50 or 80hrs out of it, I can say that i've gotten a few more hours out of it than the stock 1500mAh. In fact I have never hit a 40hrs PERIOD until I put this battery in. Now you may get more or less than I did depending on your usage, how often you text, internet usage, or running programs that check for emails, tweets, etc.
The 40hrs too are with the phone on ALL OF THE TIME. By this I mean I don't turn it off at night when I go to bed.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I'll post a pic later today. When I pulled the battery to take a pic I had to factory reset the whole phone (cause when I put the standard one back in I got FC all over). So it'll be tonight until I can get my camera to try and take a pic.
I guarantee you though that it is a 1800mAh battery.

FC close from swapping batteries? Ouch! I hope that was just a glitch, as I never plug in the power cord to charge anymore - I mean hardly ever - as I only replace my batteries approximately once a day and rotate between 4 OEM Samsung batteries.
It doesn't seem to have a charging system like my old PalmOS Treo
But I would be interested in one if swapping between the stock battery and the 1800mah one didn't play havoc on the phone and FC or screw up the battery metering system.
Thanks for your info - please keep us informed!
Which 1800mah battery is it? Do you have a link? I'd love to try them out if you're getting positive results.
Mabey it this one?

Yeah I checked out ebay, but there are a couple there.. and those Chinese batteries are notorious for being fake. If he said he's seeing better battery life I want the EXACT battery he got.
I actually did get one of those Chinese batteries. Didn't get it off of ebay though.I was skeptical at first but I thought.... Not like i'm paying $35 or anything, so it's worth a shot. But yes, like the pic.
Fits perfect, and have been using it for a few days.
@mouseglider... I was going to take a pic of the battery as requested, and that's when I realized that the digital camera wasn't working well for that, so I was like... I'll just pop the OEM back in and snap it. I didn't shut down properly and yeah, FCs. My fault probably.
I did have a backup from clockwork so it was all good. It did take a bit to restore because I didn't have a backup since the 17th, but all is well now and back to normal.
The only odd thing I noticed with the battery is that when I put the battery in, booted for the first time I had no data and it was on airplane mode. Found that odd, but I just turned airplane mode off rebooted and then it was all fine.
So far I have noticed nothing else besides that glitch and the FC glitch, but again I just yanked it then went... CRAP, i'm prob going to get FCs.
For the most part I seem to get 2-3hrs more on this battery. The test I did with the 40hrs was a basic light usage test. Not much internet usage or phone calls.
I will be testing it though with a longer twitter update, longer email poll, and no MSNBC background update nor Pulse news reader every 12hrs.
We'll see how that works. I just changed the email push to 1hr instead of 30min and Plume twitter update from 1hr to 2hr and disabled airmail for MSNBC.
Osama Bin Laden is dead and that was the most important notification.
Hey can you post a way for us to get it. Need to replace mine thanks.

Wow that took some cahones for the one who tried the chinese batteries lol.
Wasnt there a huge thing about chinese knock off batteries exploding!
but 40 hours is pretty good for and for 15$
I know right? Took some cahones. Anyway the battery seems to be ok. I haven't had it get real hot, get all weird on me or anything. Not only that, the Samsung battery says assembled in Korea, so I assume everything is going to be overseas.
As far as the link goes, I don't have one because I got it from a friend from china who does business over there with that type of stuff. I told him I was looking for a battery and he pointed me to this and I got it sent to me.
I can order a bunch from him, but i'd need to know how many because it does take about a week and a half to get them sent. This way I can have him get 5, 10, or whatever and I don't have to keep getting 1 here, 2 here, etc. Unfortunately shipping from China is not quick.
I there is a high enough interest i'll get them & anyone that wants one can let me know and you can pay by paypal once I get enough people wanting one to make it worth the shipping. Once I receive them I can get them to you for $17 which includes shipping as long as you are in the US.

I have bought 4 of those China batteries - 2 for my Moment and 2 for my Epic and had one of each lasted only 2 hours so I tossed them and the other one of each lasted for about 4 hours each - I actually did not buy them for the batteries, but bought them so I could get the chargers that they came with - so for me it was really no loss as they were really cheap - $6'ish dollars for one battery and charger - love the chargers!
I just use the standard stock Samsung batteries and simply rotate them - it works best for me and stays at 100% in the phone for at least 30 to 45min depending on light use - unlike when I charge them in the phone, and when I unplug them they always drop immediately to 96% to 98% even when I try to bump charge which is a pain in the butt and never works.
External AC chargers are the BEST!
Hmm,
I run less data update programs than the OP with a stock battery, Syndicate ROM, WIFI, Bluetooth, setCPU at OnDemand 1300/100, and Fancy Widget Pro (updates once/hour) all running 24/7.
I typically get anywhere from 24-48 hours of battery life. 48 hours has been achieved with mild web browsing, one 15 minute Google Nav trip, some emulator gaming, and various android games. I'd liken it to a medium total usage.
I had about 2% battery remaining by that 48 hour point.
If I turn off bluetooth and Fancy Widget Pro, but leave WIFI on, I can expect to have 70%+ battery left after 18 hours of use.
I'm not sure why it lasts this long, but I love it.
Thanks for trying out those chinese batteries.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906611
However, this thread, says that all chinese batteries are inferior to the OEM samsung battery. But its a good backup battery for cheap, neverthless.
How many accounts do you have syncing? Brightness level? I copy many setups people have on these forums and the most i have seen in battery life is 18hrs using seidio 3000 mah battery. Stock most seen when it was new, about 12 hrs. What Apps can i use to monitor application usage?

As far as the previous poster, it seems as if they get a good deal of juice. I think it'll vary, but nothing should be THAT drastic I don't believe.
Yours seems to be drastic, or at least from even what i've seen from my set up. Right now I checked the phone, (it was on all night last night) and I have 71% left and unplugged at 12hrs...pushing 13. Now that is with the 1800mAh battery.
Again, ones internet surfing, phone calls and all of that makes a difference. I can say that with a few phone calls it'll drop and with surfing the net. But if you are running a 3000mAh battery and only getting 18hrs, you must have that thing running lots. I could see that usage with Facebook on, weather updates every hour, email every 15min, twitter updates all the time, etc etc.
What type of setup are you running?
Two gmail.com stock settings, facebook only contacts I have. No twitter.
Fancy widgets weather.
Brightness level down to bottom.
Calendar contacts mail on one gmail.com and only mail on the other.
How would you change how often gmail checks mail? I see no settings for it.
Still 30hrs even more 40 is exaggerated.

To make a long story short, my mom and I both got G2x phones on launch day. Two weeks to the day after our purchase, her battery died and refused to boot even while plugged into the wall charger (which I now know can be fixed by simply pulling the battery). I was busy at work and couldn't help her, and since it was the last day to return the phone within the 14 day period, I just told her to go ahead and return the phone for a replacement.
Prior to her replacement, we had pretty similar battery lives. I used mine more during the day, but she kept Bluetooth and other services running because she was used to an EDGE-only iPhone 3G where she never had to turn Bluetooth off. Our phones lasted between 10 and 12 hours depending on usage. Not great, but not terrible either.
Since she swapped hers out, her battery life is insane. I've attached a screenshot that shows 70% battery life after almost 24 hours. She had Bluetooth running 24/7 (notice it has the exact same usage percentage as Cell Standby) and WiFi running for a good portion of the time (though WiFi slept while screen was off). She had 4G running the whole time. While I know people might balk at the bad LG battery drivers, after 48 hours, she still had 17% battery life left. I apologize for not taking a screenshot--I didn't think about it until later that day. Though if anyone wants me to, I'll take one the next time her phone gets that far along.
I should mention that this is with no optimization at all. She did fully discharge the battery the first time she used it and charged it completely afterward, but that's it. The phone was unrooted and running stock everything with no special tweaks.
I'm very much considering going back to T-Mobile and seeing if they will swap it out. While mine doesn't seem to have the bleeding or other issues that other people have described, if I can trade mine out for a replacement that will quadruple my battery life, why not?
Wow that's amazing. I personally feel the G2x has excellent battery life. It has been way better than other Android phones I've had in the past (except for the original myTouch, I would get like 3 days out of that thing).
I wonder if the crazy battery life from your mom's phone is from the phone itself or the battery. I doubt T-Mobile will switch out your phone passed the exchange period (I'm a Tmo employee) but if they have any return G2x phones in stock, they should be cool to switch the battery out with you. I'm interested to see if it is indeed the phone or the battery.

That's a good suggestion. I'll experiment by swapping batteries with her to determine if it's her phone or her battery. I am inclined to think it's something different with the phone, but we'll see!
this would REALLY suck if it's true... because I got mine at Radioshack.. and I really loathe going to that store... ugh.
I also have amazing battery life. I can go 12 hours at work and still have 80% left. Got mine from the store on launch day.
((LG Tegra G2x)) @FiberOpticRLD
Could you please post the manufactured date (back of the G2x Box) for the second phone? Saw some posts which said phones on or after 4/29 are really good without any of the previous issues.
Curious to see what the verdicts are. If we can get that kind battery life out of our phones, that'd be incredible!

Yesterday I pulled my phone off the charger at 8AM. Went all day. I leave Wifi and Bluetooth on. Made about an hour of phone calls. Occasional checking of a website here or there. Did not charge phone at night. when I went to bed around midnight it was at 25% or so. Did not put it on charger. This morning it was at about 20%.
Not to rain on your parade. But from your screenshot, it shows no voice calls at all and little to no display use. 24 hrs on a charge without every really using the phone isn't really an accomplishment. Now if she can get 24 hours on a charge and have actually used the phone at least moderately then that would be different. I'd like to see how long her battery lasts with actual use of the phone. That would be a more true indicator of the battery life.
I was going to state that... based on that... her screen was only on for a total of 30 minutes out of 1440 minutes... not a major accomplishment. These phones are meant to be used not just carried around like a flip phone from 2001.

Exactly! She could have pretty much accomplished the same thing by just leaving the phone turned off or just leaving it at home. Some of us would like to actually use our phones, not just have them around for decoration lol. Now if someone gets 24 hours on a single charge with actual use, then I'd love to see that thread as that would be useful information.
What's the date on your phone.
What's the date on your phone.
Mine is in my signature
Is the battery life shorter than the life of a fly? I'm coming from a HD2, which I was constantly wanting to turn into a bomb and ship it back to HTC because of it's poor battery life, until I upgraded to CyanogenMod.
The other thread about the phone is filled with silly, useless blabbering about benchmarks, so if you have the phone, could you please spare us drudging through that thread and post your battery life results here?
+1 to T.S
If the Sensation can run more than 8 hours on Battery I'mma pre-order this beast on Handtec asap
Good initiative. Change the topic title to 'battery life' or something similar otherwise people interested won't think to look in this topic.
the phone only came out yesterday, it always takes a few charge/discharge cycles to get it conditioned properly, so any comparisons that are done after just one day aren't going to be very accurate. give people a chance!!
For who?
Don't expect any better battery life than present phones. It's dual core. I don't have it but I think it's predictable. You will get 1 or 2 days depends on how you use it. I'm saying that might be 2 days because for normal usage it will run only one core which is new chipset etc. so it will spend less power than 1 core phones when one core is running. It will spend more power when you play gamse etc. because of 2 cores.
As long as it's better than my Desire (AMOLED), I'm happy.
I've installed CM7 and undervolted it and when I run my usual set up (Podcasts/Music, Trillian (Battery Saving Mode), GTalk, Latitude activated) it can happen that it doesn't really reached the end of a typical work day. When I had certain widgets installed, it didn't really reach the end of the day.
I don't need it to last 2 days, but easily one full day with nearly heavy use would be somehow nice...
Had my phone for 3 hours, battery life is about 10 billion times better than my HD2 was. Been using it pretty constantly since, and my battery would have gone down by about 25-30% on my HD2 (mental!!) but battery has gone down by about 5-10% and I haven't even charged it yet. Very happy soo far! .
I unplugged my phone after it's first charge cycle 7h 38m ago. It's gone from 100% to 23%.
During that time, my phone has been used almost constantly, including benchmarking, taking screenshots, as well as the usual few phonecalls, facebook updates every hour and Twitter updates every hour. Plus, of course, all the mucking around that we all do when we get new phones!
sjgore, great news! I have a question about your signature, how could you possibly be holding both your phone and your baby at the same time in each hand?

Thats is very promising, waiting for my Sensation! Have to wait a damn week though!
This thread is relevent to my interests...
A good reliable benchmark will be good only after everyone stops playing with their new phone for 23 hours out of the day!
Can't wait to get mine when it hits the US soon!
Also, battery conditioning isn't applicable to these kind of batteries. The first charge is as good as the 50th or the 100th. Of course, this is pending the lifetime of the battery. They do wear out!
I have been using my phone since 8am this morning, the battery is at 53%
My HD2 would have easily been dead by now!

Could please more users comment regarding battery experience so far? Even though you might still hope for an improvement after several charges, I'd like to know how it has been for you guys for the first couple of days. Thanks
I charged mine about half 5 yesterday, been using it as normal and had WiFi turned on, and its just hit 25%.
A lot better than my Desire HD.

Mine's been off charge since about 9:30, and today I've been recording some 1080p video clips, taken some photos, playing Angry Birds and general usage. It's currently at 65%. So I'm pretty happy all in all!
Ok people who say "I've been off the charger since XX:XX and I'm at XX%, my YYY phone would've been dead by now!" please stop... people use their phones every differently and moderate/heavy usage varies greatly among different people.
If possible just look at your battery graph and report how long it says it's been off the charger, and also press display to see the DISPLAY TIME ON. Also, if you've made a lot of calls, report the voice call time as well. Signal strength is another major factor.
With Gingerbread it's MUCH easier to see battery life performance because of that new graph. Signal strength, display on, awake, etc. are very important in determining how long the battery will last and also if your phone isn't getting as much juice as you think it should.
20 hours 5 mins off charge, 100% to 39%, display time 1 hour 26 mins. WiFi on all that time. Is that any use?
Edit: Forgot to say, my phone's on its third charge cycle now.
Thanks. Did you make many calls? 1.5 hours of screen on time seems like light usage for 20 hours off the charger. The battery life on this phone seems quite average... on par with other 1500mah phones I guess.
More data is always welcome =)

Ok, so I have my Sensation XE since februrary never experienced battery issues since, except in the past these days. I usually recharge my phone once every 2 days, but now I am *forced* to recharge it every day right before going to sleep.
I don't know what to say excepting giving you some situations. I fully charged my phone saturday at around 5-6 PM. Next day at around 5 PM my battery went to a little under 15%. My phone usage was minimal (only 45 minutes of display), i don't really talk much on the phone, I don't remember how many minutes I spent on phone calling during that time, but I know it was around 10-15 minutes MAX.
Now more recently... i fully charged my phone on the following day (sunday, yesterday) at around 11 PM. Now it's 7 PM, Monday and i'm sitting on 14% 2h27m display time (in 20h30m since discharging from 100%). I usually get a time of 1d10h with 2 hours of display on, but now I'm struggling to get more than 24 hours.
I'm really considering replacing my battery with a better one (not the OEM standard one).
PS: I haven't changed my usage habits, I haven't installed anything that could drain my battery (besides, I always follow the "Awake" bar on the battery history details, and it's ok), I'm using stock ROM.
Try rooting and install different ROM. See if it helps. If not then maybe its time to get a new battery. Btw Anker 1900 mah battery is cheap and works very well. I bought some time back and really happy with this.

No. I want to keep it stock.
If you're going to get a new battery, I'd advise you to get an Anker.
I'd try another battery then if you want to keep stock not much can be done in the way of tweaking. I highly recommend a extended battery. Anker is a good one. If you want an even bigger battery try mugen. Most are very happy with Anker.its inexpensive and works well..best of luck.

I've solved my problem, the battery is fine. I removed Google+ (or at least the data associated with it).
