I was not too satisfied with my Kraken II that I got not so much due to its size but because I did not like the screen protector, the dust covers were not so easy for me to open(I have no fingernails), and just the overall feel of the case. I decided to order the Cyclops when I saw it was available to see if I wanted to either stay with that or to rebuy an Aegis.
The Cyclops was the easiest to install compared to the Kraken and the Aegis and the dust covers are also a lot easier to access. The buttons have a great feel to them, probably the best I have seen on a case. The power buttons are volume rocker clicks very easily. I am sure with a day of use I will adjust to it.
It has a great feel compared to the Kraken II. It is very grippy and easy to hold. It looks very similar in size but the Cyclops feels a little thinner. The screen protector is static cling unlike the one on the Kraken II. I never use screen protectors so this is a huge plus for me. It also comes with small protector that you can stick onto the back of the case to protect the camera and flash from dust.
I plan on adding more to this post. I opened the box and installed on my Charge around 10 minutes before I started typing. My initial thoughts are that if you are looking to purchase a case, the Trident Cyclops is the one to go with. I have used a cheap tpu case, the Otterbox Commuter, Incipio Double Cover and Feather, and the other 2 Trident cases and this one is going to be the one I will continue to use.
Edit: The bottoms buttons are very easy to hit. I needed to line up the silicone button covers up better.
Sorry that my pictures suck. The red case is the Kraken II and the Blue one is the Cyclops.

Verizon sold that case in store as the Double Cover. It seemed alright when I had it but when I realized it had no cutout for the hdmi port it got packed right back up and sent back. I might have had it on my phone for 10 minutes. I can't really give much more on an opinion on it other then that. It was nice and thin but the silicone seemed a lot lighter and not as durable as the Trident and Otterbox cases.
Thanks for posting info. on yet another option moondrius. I now have four cases to sell. The Otterbox Commuter, the Trident Aegis, the Trident Kraken 2, and the case I am currently using; the Casemate Barely There. The Casemate is a joke. It isn't good for anything other than scratch protection. I was hoping for better corner protection in the event of a drop.
The quest for the perfect case continues.
I actually ordered a pair of TPU cases for $3.50. If those don't work, I'm going to settle on the SILICRYLIC. I don't use the HDMI port and it seems to be a good compromise of protection vs. bulk.
How is the access to the pull down menu with the Cyclops?

It's a lot better then the Kraken. It's a little curvier at the top of the Cyclops so it's easier to pull down the notification bar.

I don't have this one but I got the snap on case and it is horrible the casemate snap on was way better, it is one of the worst cases I've ever bought and I heard this company made good cases.

It was supposed to be a question. I just forgot the question mark.... lol.
I doubt these are better
I second the Otterbox Commuter, it's amazing how well built this case is. I thought Incase made the best cases, but Otterbox takes the lead now.
Incipio cases are really rough and feel unfinished. The Feather case I got for my Nexus One actually damaged it slightly cause it had sharp uneven edges, not to mention cracked twice without dropping it even once.

Oh I just posted this in another thread (but is better posted in here)....
Ok well I got this Incipio silicylic hybrid case today, and I'm not that impressed.
It looks nice, and does give the extra support for the silicone down each side of the screen I was looking for. But they've totally cocked up the bottom of the case...
There is no real protection between the trackball and the USB port. The hard plastic is totally cut away there to the back of the phone, leaving a flimsy flap of silicone horizontally between the ball and port. Also the plastic and silicon is cut away right out past the dock port pins, leaving the phone body exposed to a straight down drop on its arse end due to this gaping cutout.
The plastic shell also has very sharp edges at that massive gaping cutout at the bottom too, so it needs dremmeling right out of the box.
If only they'd run a strip of plastic along that edge between trackball and usb port and not just silicone, none of this would be an issue, and it would have been my perfect case. Grrrr.

Let us know how you like it when it arrives.
I like the extra corner protection. The case system seems like something from Aliens.
I had this case on my S3 for a few days before returning it, only because I didn't like the way the belt clip attached to the outer case. It's too hard to get it clipped in when the belt piece is still on your belt and you're trying to put the phone back in it. Also, I wasn't crazy about the clip piece being close to the screen. If this had a holster like Otterbox or a Seidio case I had for the S3, that would be much better IMO. Aside from the belt clip, the case itself is a solid Otterbox competitor, assuming build quality is the same for the S4 as it was for the S3.
I like the Trident Aegis case instead- just got one for my S4 and it offers the same protection without the bulky corners. I've had the Trident Aegis cases on my S2, S3 and now S4 and I must say its probably one of my favorite lines of cases.
Using the clip became 2nd nature after 2-3 days. I liked it because you could tell if the phone was on board without doing anything. What I didn't like is the ear opening cut off half the speaker and they didn't care.

I bought one for $30.99 on ebay. I have one on my s3 as well. I love the 360 belt clip and removable kickstand. Ordered mine on 5th, will be here on today.
Now I just need the phone.
Got this yesterday. Looks like a cross between an Otterbox Defender and an Element Case design. I really like it; pretty sure I like it more than an Otterbox Defender.

Also, I discovered that the Kraken fits in the Arkon Galaxy Note 2 armband; I'm positive an Otterbox Defender case would fit also:

One of my previous Kraken cases use to drive me crazy when I wanted to put it on its back. Does the kickstand cause the case to rock when face up? Looks flush in the pics.

If you look on the back, the top corners protrude, so the upper 2/3 of the case are in contact with a flat surface when you lay it flat. If you push down on the bottom, it will tilt, however.

No. It is poly carbonate but has a small bit of texture and some louvers on the back (for heat maybe?). If you use the case without the back on it (Perseus) then it will have more of a silicone feel. Can't really compare this case to the Seidio Active because the Kraken is a Mil Spec case. Much more stout.
If anyone is interested I did a short video review of this case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288370

Just as it says, what is everyone using?
I'll go first. Currently using a cheap generic cover from mall. An otterbox defender is on order, however.
Ever since I saw the Nexus 5(one of the most fragile smartphones I've experience over the past couple of years) in a drop test in the Bugdroid Cruzerlite TPU case on YouTube, I have been sold on their cases. I was a fan of simple bumper cases before these.
Since I am used to having one of those on my N5, when I first got the G3, it felt too thin, was hard to grip and hold properly. Since then, I have received the black Bugdroid case(3 days ago) and I have been loving it on the G3. I couldn't say enough good things about the case and how it feels in the hand with this device
Love my Bodyglove case! Feel great and super grippy.

The plastic isn't flush on the corners like oem back but it doesn't look bad. Also the back feels more tactile. There doesn't seem to be a bigger 'bump' on the back vs oem. Main diff is the corners and the feel.
Not sure how hard it would be to do a transplant of the receivers....

Bought the case linked below while I wait for the red Seidio Surface case/holster combo to become available. For $9, it's much more than I expected. Very good quality and has a kickstand on the phone shell and the holster.

I have Spigen slim armor and zagg invisible shield glass. Both provide excellent protection.
Supcase Bumper C ase
I'm using supcase bumper case and a glass screen protector. It's a frost back so you can see the back of the phone and it's a perfect fit.. Its thin so it adds minimum bulk. Got it off amazon.:good:
Raw doggin it for now. Cases add too much bulk for my liking, till I drop it and it takes a beating. Then I'll most likely get as small and thin a case as I can find.
I picked up the AT&T tempered glass screen protector. It is on the expensive side at $29, but I used the $15 Isis credit that the AT&T rep hooked me up with, so the out of pocket cost was only $15 and it was great to get it right away. I bought the phone at bestbuy and they didn't tell me about the Isis credit.
The protector is great. No complaints.
I really want the official slim case when it is available in the US.
Im using the Otter Box Defender. It does add some bulk but the protection is extraordinary and it looks nice as well. The one downfall of this case is the screen protector is reflective.
On your defender holster clip, is there an excessive amount of space at the bottom between the holster and phone?
Just got a white Poetic Invictus case off ebay. The G3 version does not have the funky kickstand. Good fit with not too much bulk. It's no otterbox, but for $12.95 I can't complain. Only gripe is that the plastic is rather slippery.
Rocking a black incipio dualpro with an iCarez 0.2mm tempered glass screen protector. Works nice and looks good too!

Currently using the PT Platinum, it was the only thing Best Buy had in store for the LG G3. I was waiting for the Otterbox Symmetry Series to show up on Amazon so I can return the PT, but it hasn't yet..
I think the Otterbox site has themfor sale
I can count on a single hand the number of times I dropped my Galaxy Note over the past 2.5 years, and it was mostly onto carpet, so I felt getting a giant Otterbox this time around would be superfluous. I'm using a Spigen Slim Armor Case, which has much better grip than the actual phone, has decent padding on the inside, and isn't too thick. I've had it for five days and love it. The LG G3 would slide out of my pocket while driving, but with the case there's enough friction to prevent that, though not enough to make it a hassle pulling it out.

Actually, the defender series this time doesn't seem as bulky as in the past. But I'm still thinking about buying the slim armour and a leather holster.
super snug case. looks good.
Hey guys I'm looking for a really slim case that isn't raised too much along the edges of the screen or cover too much of the sides of the device. A couple I'm looking at is the Obliq case, spigen capsule, spigen slim armor, or maybe the official Samsung protective case.
I have a tech 21 case now and it's ok but it's a bit bulky around the edges and kind of hides the shape of the phone.
I had the Tech21 case and currently have the Speigen Capsule and Samsung cases. The Tech21 was WAY too thick and bulky, and the buttons were hard to press. The Capsule is very thin, but has sharp edges IMO. I found it really uncomfortable to hold without it feeling like my hand may get cut (it never happened, but still hurt).
The Samsung case is awesome though. Fits beautifully and looks like it's a part of the phone. It protects really well too and hardly adds any thickness. I'd highly recommend it. It's worth the money 105%.

Yes, try Amazon.
Look up verus iron shield champagne gold galaxy note 4 review by real reviews on YouTube thy have a link in the description probably the best thin case for the note 4 in the link the have different colors also
Ringke Slim case is the slimmest one IMO by far at the expense of drop protection. The black one has a nice matte finish while the other colors are more glossy which I don't like.
It adds the least bulk and gives a bit of protection - I've dropped my phone onto hardwood floors a couple times from 3-4 feet. The case slightly deformed but the phone was perfect. However I expect any drop onto a hard surface like concrete will break the screen.
Like the previous post stated, the Ringke slim is super thin. The SF black has good grip.
I would go with the Samsung Protective cover though. a little thicker but you are drop protected and the case feels better in hand.
Ringke Slim 9.99
Samsung Protective Cover:
12.00 (Blue)
14.00 (Black)
15.00 (Red)
Thank you guys for the ideas. I really like how slim the ringke is but it makes me a little nervous. I think I'm torn between the Samsung protective case and the verus. Both look super nice although the Samsung appears to be a bit slimmer
I have a Verus Thor on mine, and I think it's pretty amazing for its slimness to protection ratio. Camera's protected, there's enough of a lip in front to protect the screen (I've got a tempered glass protector anyway), and if there's a con, it's that it fits so tight and snug that you don't want to take it off too often; I ended up buying a new dock just so I don't have to. Well, that, and it's not highly textured or rubbery, so it feels a little smoother in the hand than I see a lot of people liking. Fell out twice at work a few days ago--once onto concrete, once onto steel car wash railings--and it still looks pristine. I highly recommend it.

If by "thick enough that the camera isnt exposed," you mean that when you rest the phone on a table, the camera lens isnt resting directly on the flat surface, then yes. There is a lip around the camera lens that will keep it from touching any flat surface.

Well after reading the comments from you guys I decided to pull the trigger on the blue Samsung protective cover. Seems like it offers good protection and a very slim form factor. I'll post some pics once it comes in the mail
That Samsung one looks nice. There is a great review on it from a guy named lawmanfj on youtube. I'll probably grab that one down the road. I just purchased the S-View case, and I really like it. It is a flip case, but it doesn't add much bulk. Seems like the drop protection might not be the best, but since it replaces your back battery cover, it's stay's slim. It does run about $26 through Amazon. I picked one up at Best Buy for a few bucks more, but got to try it out before purchasing.
You should post some pics when your case comes in, and give a review of it.
Does anyone know if there is a case like the Samsung Protective Cover, but replaces the battery door to make it slimmer? Basically i would like to find something with some protection around the edges, and a lip for the screen, but without adding to the thickness of the phone.
Just as the title says.
Im looking for a very hard, rigid case that wont bend, to protect my phone from bending while its in my pocket.
Thanks.
Ive been a fan of the unicorn beetle pro cases, I use one for my iphone6 for work and it has never bent and its in my back and front pockets. My only complain with them is the "screen protector" is plastic and attached to the case. eventually it becomes scratched. On my iphone i ripped it off and put a vinyl or glass protector. Others seem to like the two piece clamshell slide together cases.
When I do cases I usually get a clear skin from liek xtreme guard, and then put my case around that. Ive had dirt get in cases and scratch the phones. Some of these cases are so tight thats not an option.
Here is another thread on the subject, with some options!

Old design shows more of the screen but there was some flaws with it, the built-in screen protector was poorly done. It can be fixed by removing it and using a separate screen protector, I have a TGSP and its nice.
Nice suggestion! You're right, the older one is much better looking than the new one.

Yep, that new one sux's! What were they thinking?
I bought on of these off Amazon UK and sent it back; it's fugly and far too bulky IMO
Don't like the in-built screen protector on it either, much prefer a decent tempered glass which my 6P has already!
I've just ordered the Carpathian Elm Burl woodback explorer case from Cover Up and I've got x2 Orzly cases coming to me via eBay (Prime Armor & Air Stand).
I'm currently using the Spigen Rugged Armor case, but it's a soft case all round with no solid back which is ideally what I wanted; I'm disappointed that Spigen offered such a poor range of cases for the 6P and that Otterbox didn't even entertain making cases for it!

I have the speck candyshell. It has a hard outer shell with a soft inner liner. It's very rigid and should prevent the phone from bending.
The RingKe Fusion has a hard shell back.

one thing to keep in mind is that the black speck candyshell shows scratches like crazy. I've only had mine for 2 weeks and the back is already noticeably scratched up. I'm actually going to return mine and get the white one as that doesn't seem to show scratches as easily.

Thanks, but yes I do have the white for those reasons.
I'm waiting for a Poetic Revolution case which will arrive soon From what I've seen on the Web, this case might be very solid too and it also includes a kickstand and a screen protector. I will remove the screen protector since I never liked this kind of stuff. I'm very careful with my devices and all screens have survived without any scratches
