honeycomb bootanimation

Hey all, I know this is old but I couldn't find the honeycomb bootanimation in these forums. I wanted it to fully complete my honeycomb theme for CM7, and after some digging around I managed to find it on another forum.
EDIT:As per request, I've made a few flashable zips for this bootanimation. I've tested each out and they should work if your using CWM3, sorry about the previous posting of flashable zip that didn't work! I've corrected the mistake and hope that you all enjoy this animation as much as I do.
If you haven't completely read this thread and are new to the rooting 'scene' each rom is different, the animations can be placed into different places depending on what your running be it /data/local/ , /system/media/ , or /system/customize/resource/ . It's up to YOU to know where it belongs as I've made each zip for each location. If you don't know where it belongs, get to reading your roms thread in the Dev section and see if there is any information there.
And remember.. NANDROID first!! I will not be held responsible for anything happening to your phone or life because of this. Although if the flash fails you'll either be left with your original animation or a black screen. I'd much rather you use Root Explorer or some other file manager with root access to do this so you'll know where to place the bootanimation.zip in the future.. but thats completely up to you.
Enjoy and let me know if this works/doesn't work and I'll do my best to help you- I'm not a serious developer nor will I take the title of devoloper as I only have a basic understanding of code and how the android system works.
Anyone want to make this a flashable zip? I would be eternally greatful! Also what are the dimensions on this guy? Fit an incredible screen?
Yup I have it running on mine and it looks GORGEOUS.

I've tried other apps that say root explorer, but couldn't get them to work. They might work but I bought root explorer, easy and well worth the money. On two different roms i've used you have to place the zip in system \customize\resource and name it exactly like the existing bootanimation. Same with audio. Example VZW_bootanimation.zip just rename original adding (.bak) incase you need to go back.

I agree, root explorer is a valuable tool if your planning on customizing your phone out. Its well worth the money and has replaced every file manager I've ever used. Great for me since I like to do things on the fly when I'm not home.

What permissions should it have? So far I've been unable to get it to work. I either get the default "android" or a black screen. Either way it boots anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter, but it's just fun to change things around some.

This is what mine is set up as, where have you guys placed the zip file? Depending on your rom you may have to rename it to " vzw_bootanimation.zip " try that out.

How To: GTalk Video Chat on CM7

Hi Folks,
As some of you may know the AT&T Atrix 4G just got a Gingerbread build yesterday, that build was 2.3.4. Some of you may also know that the Atrix is powered by the same Tegra 2 chipset that drives the G2x.
Well as it turns out, it's very easy to get GTalk w/ Video support working on the G2x using CM7 and that update (Don't thank f-in LG, thank Motorola!!!)... Here are the steps (on OSX, adapt as needed):
Proceed to Step 2 of http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-EN/Atrix Upgrade/Atrix-Gingerbread-Update and Download the 161MB zip file
unzip -j ~/Downloads/Blur_Version.4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US.zip *alk*
Code:
Archive: /Users/.../Downloads/Blur_Version.4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US.zip
signed by Moto-SignApk
inflating: Talk2.apk
inflating: libtalk_jni.so
Follow the steps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056793
Code:
#mount the /system partition as writeable
adb remount
#backup the old Talk app
adb shell mv /system/app/Talk.apk /system/app/Talk.apk1
#uninstall the old gtalk, I think it clears the related cached bytecode too.
adb uninstall com.google.android.talk
#copy the two new files
adb push libtalk_jni.so /system/lib/
adb push Talk2.apk /system/app
Now for the bugs:
- G2x FFC thumbnail is upside down
- Confirmed: Phone can see video from other side, but other side can not see video from the phone. This has been confirmed G2x -> Nexus S and G2x -> OSX Chrome w/ GTalk plug-in.
Update 2011-07-27: bongostl repacked it into a flashable install (gapps-gb-20110613withtalk-signed.zip) available @ http://www.multiupload.com/WF29XUSINW
Update 2011-08-11: Word is one needs CM nightly #98 or higher if your thumbnail picture is upside down
Cheers,
-G

Never mind again, there was no box but i clicked all around the sentence and finally the link opened up. Thanks for the post.

yeah did not realize that ... my bad ... one more thing i wanted to ask ... what else can the atrix 2.3.4 update give us for the G2x which we are missing right now ?
also .. is anybody able to make a flashable zip out of this ?

This might be a dumb question, and I'm sure someone will let me know if it is. I flashed this GAPPS and everything is fine. When I go to open Talk, I can't find where I would find the preview so I can see if the FFC is working. It installed Talk 1.3, is that the correct version? I'm running Trigger 13 w/ new baseband.

The phone has it but its inactive. There are files that have iq in their names in the root of your phone thoae are your culprits. An example would be one under /system/xbin

Almost there. I'm at a stopping point right now, but RaverX3X and I were working on this earlier. with a bootanimation binary he gave me I was able to get bootanimation to work, but it didn't die after android was done booting.
I had to manually kill the pid.

Well, for us that are not ready to use the 2.3.6 GB build, and still want to remove Carrier IQ from our phones, I will write a Guide for all to enjoy and remove from their current ROMs. I am currently testing it, but am having grave errors when I recompile the framework-res.apk (BTW, there is a little more than just editing the apk). I have never had any luck with APK Tool or APK Manger. If there is anyone out there who could possibly help with this, I can finish and post my guide.
***EDIT***
I went ahead and posted my guide even though I haven't perfected the decompile/recompile of the apk. The service is still removed but framework-res.apk still tries to start it. I have no FCs or issues running it as it is.

Almost there. I'm at a stopping point right now, but RaverX3X and I were working on this earlier. with a bootanimation binary he gave me I was able to get bootanimation to work, but it didn't die after android was done booting.
I had to manually kill the pid.

Which was purely accidental and coincidental. I have removed ALL info contained in the post and have request it be removed as well...

krylon, can you link me to your caller IQ guide?
Flashed this from Ravers rom... lost root... Did i miss something?
TeamWhiskey, a sorely missed and very welcome tag I am glad to see in the first page again.
Krylon, thanks for this work, and thanks to those who collaborated with him on it. I can't afford a SGS2 for some time, so to see development and work contijnue as this device ages is a huuuge relief.

Hey guys! Here i made for you a C# program for ease of use in decompiling recompiling apks.
It has the option to sign the recently compiled apk or if option is unchecked, it will ask for you to select a new file to sigh, either zip or apk files can be signed!
Its pretty straight forward to use everything is at your finger tips!
To install, just extract the zip double click the installer and you'll be good to go!
Any feature requests/issues just let me know in this thread.
UPDATE: Added option to select jar files for editing
Added option to set "busy" window to back so its not always on top.

Is there any way you can have this work with the 4.0 .Net framework? I have an old PC!
First of thanks alot for your effort in this great tool ,
im getting this in the log
"" 'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file. ""
Awesome tool my friend keep up the good work :good:
Thanks for the tool, it's very easy to use but I am a real noob so I need some help in recompiling the APK.
I successfully decompiled the APK and made some changes which I wanted to in XML file.
But I don't know the procedure to recompile
Can someone tell the steps in brief?
Thanks!
Nice job on a GUI interface.
However, generates errors on de-compiling and will not create a re-compiled apk. Even without making changes.
Error log attached.
Files used SystemUI.apk and Framework.apk
Acer Iconia A701 system dump files. Stock 7.1.1 JB
MD
Edit....... Never mind. Administrator rights....
Edit again..... framework worked ok,, but systemUI still goes nuts when decompiling and will not create new apk. same error.
