Yeah, I know it's a Q, but its a strictly ROM development Q. Is anyone working on an MIUI ROM? What are the issues/hurdles involved? As a non-developer, Ive a lot of curiosities concerning this.
BTW... THANK YOU!!! to ALL the Developers out there!!!!!!!!!!! For everything you do!
no, there is nobody working on miui, this because miui is based on cm7.
and because there isn't an stable fully working cm7 yet, the people that are making miui roms also won't start cooking.
we have to wait until there is an stable working cm7, only then we can talk about miui
Number 1: Doesn't matter what kind of question it is, still belongs in Q&A.
Number 2: No, not currently.

I have rooted my phone and cannot seem to find any stable 2.2 roms and rom manager(which I bought) has only 1 2.1 rom. its call BUUF and it isnt to my taste of looks. Any suggestions and or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Well, just about everything in the ROM Development section is stable now. You can pick whatever you would like. 2.1 has been out long enough now that our great developers have made many great custom roms. And Darchstar has been working on his Heroc version of Cyanogenmod (2.2) for quite a while as well. I'm running that personally, and it works better than anything I've run in the last (almost) year.

As the title says.. any informations?
MIUI is based off cyanogen I believe, so once we start seeing 2.3 cyanogen builds I can bet MIUI will not take long.

I am also waiting eagerly to see a 2.3 miui rom. Even better would be a 2.3 miui ZIP-ROM. For those of us with CWM.

No, it's not based on Cyanogen - it has nothing to do with Cyanogen, except that they showed him their code.
It's done by a group of Chinese coders. They're currently working on a UI overhaul and, as far as I'm aware, have not announced any plans for a 2.3-based ROM. Miui-Dev would be the best place to keep up with MIUI developments, since it's an English-speaking site that's responsible for most of the MIUI roms available.

MIUI is not based on Cyanogen? Someone said it's on Cyanogen
MIUI on this phone would be amazing. Especially being the first dual-core phone from HTC.
What HTC Phone that currently has the MIUI Rom is similar to the system specs of the Sensation? I believe both the EVO and MT4G had ports from the builds for the Nexus, which made them faster and easier to port than to start from scratch.
As I understand, everyone is still waiting for some extra unlocking goodness before the real dirt begins...but this project would probably be the biggest of all over any CM, Vanilla, or Sense ports combined.

Oh no sir. No no nooo LOL. This is nothing like MIUI. Its not just the GUI (which looks nothing like this combo), but the coding and interface and stability.
MIUI is...a soulful experience. Nothing can compare.

I'll be eagerly awaiting MiUi!!! Will most likely have to use CM until we get MiUi. That's once we get CM lol. That should be very soon.
I'm hoping we can just get a port from the Xiaomi M1!
The Xiaomi M1 (MIUI Phone) is brings a faster Qualcomm 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 768MB of ROM.

My understanding is that MIUI gets developed based upon the CM build for a particular device. Do you know if that is accurate? Or is that just something which happened before in the past, but is not always the process for all builds?
In any case, I will also be eagerly awaiting some good news from kmobs about a stable CM build for our newly-freed phones :]

It's eyecandy + functionality + speed!!!!
It's a good clean performing ROM just like CyanogenMod but with a different UI and some other differences here and there. People say it looks too iPhone'ish but themes and tweaking can change that. I will admit it takes some good features from the iPhone. Surprised Apple isn't suing them....
I've used both CM and MiUi heavily. Love them both to death but I prefer the eyecandy of MiUi and the functionality more.
Sensation is my first Android phone and it looks like CM7 and MIUI are the most hyped/praised ROM's and I can't wait to try them out when they arrive!
I can't wait for a MIUI Rom for the HTC Sensation! I am in love with the practicality of their ROMS. Does anyone know if there is even confirmation that they are working on one as we speak?

I absolutely agree!!! I can barely look at my sensation without MIUI. I still have a mint condition Glacier with MIUI on it and I use it as my everyday phone still just because of MIUI. It is smoother than my sensation is right now for sure!
BUT don't get me wrong the sensation and MIUI are gonna be a match made in android heaven! They are meant to be together. Until then.... I'll play with whatever other roms are out there.

So there's all this stuff about ICS going on here, and I just discovered this:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/13939-rom-miui-port-miuius-galnet-miuiandroid-updated-01212012/
It's ICS on MIUI. It's working on my phone, and it's butter smooth.
I love it.
All you have to do is install the galnet MIUI build on the link, and then install the MIUI ICS build right there.
It's beautiful.
Tell me what you guys think!

I'm pretty sure it isn't the real deal, just a very close mod.
That's been out for some time. It's just a Miui Galnet build that they claim has some framework tweaks from ICS. And that link is a port from Legend.
Here's details of the Galnet ICS Miui build:
http://galnetmiui.co.uk/landing/ics-change-log/
I had ported a version for myself also and it was very smooth but i found no real difference or benefit.
Edit: just noticed your link there mt3g
Also, Many folks just don't know about it here because Galnet builds are banned at XDA
Why are they banned here??? And they dont have a p999 version.

They don't, but the one in the OP is a port to P999 from O2x.
I already posted a thread about this earlier in Q&A, It's BS not ICS. They just altered the version number. That's probably why they're "banned", for making false info, low quality ports. MIUI was fine until I installed the ICS build over it then it got stupid, no vibration on touch, missing sounds and nothing that even remotely resembled ICS. Don't waste your time they are just praying on your eagerness. One more thing; if this was a working ICS build Cyanogen would also have a working build...food for thought.
ALL BS http://galnetmiui.co.uk/landing/ics-change-log/
Not quite, only an MIUI regular build with pieces of ICS functionality integrated into it. Thanks for sharing though!
Hi everybody,
We all know our phones CM9 development is soon gonna be complete(?) AS FAR AS kernel 2.xx CAN ALLOW... So the question that everyones asking is this " When will Dhiru start compiling CM 10 ?? "
I OPENED THIS THREAD TO ASK YOU THIS :
SHOULD WE GO FOR CM7 OR CM10 ??
This question arose when my brother wanted to take an android.. He asked bout SL.. Even though i love my SL i had to suggest s2 bcoz it has stable aosp rom support.. Our fone, well, right now belongs to the low development area... Development is at starting to get low... No custom roms, no themes and lot of incomplete aosp roms...
If we go for CM7 dvelopment, i am hopeful that we'll hav atleast a 100% stable AOSP rom.. Even though it might be ancient in the current scenario, we'll get a lightning quick rom that will just fly on our fone..
And well, a stable CM7 will lead to a stable MIUI... Ppl can work on things with a stable AOSP base...
I know its for Dhiru to decide.. Wanted to know what the community is thinking...

Why would he do that? That's like saying that Froyo should be developed for the S3.
Dhiru is going to fix everything with the help of everyone in this community (devs and testers). I truly believe that. He doesn't need to do it (he has 2 other phones) so he does it for the pleasure of the challenge. Kernel 2.x.x isn't a limitation and kernel 3.x.x isn't aborted. The way things are going, I imagine that CM9 will be out of alpha with everything working very soon. That'll be when the tweaking and mods flood in. CM10 will be just a few ports away.
I say leave CM7 where it should be. History. Sorry to be a buzz kill, but CM7 is for devices that really can't handle ICS and the i9003 can.
Also CM10 won't need many changes anyways, a working CM9 will probably result in a working CM10.
So nope, CM10 won't be an incomplete ROM, basically CM9 Bugs = CM10 Bugs, i am with improving CM9 and CM10 at the same time, and leaving CM7 laaater on.
I agree with sam too, CM7 is outdated.
@samisax
Wonderful answer, that!!n a good argument too...i agree one hundred percent that cm7 should be written off as history.dhiru will soon give us a stable cm9 AND Cm10 i m sure
I agree on what samisax says, if this phone can run cm10, there is no reason to go backwards.

As i said in the OP, outdated may be, but something which can be made 100% stable by a developer such as dhiru in a very short time(comparitively)... Something which can be used as a TRUE daily driver..
As dhiru and othr developers say ther are many things in cm9 & cm10, which can only be fixed when kernel 3.xx comes out.. Ad dt get me wrong, i know our fone can handle ICS perfectly... But it'll take tym.. Till the time comes, cant we hav cm7??
i think it is a bad idea to make cm7 stable, because a single step on working cm7, will lead to delay stable cm9...
i hope dhiru can finish developing cm9 soon.
we must settle for cm9 first and then cm10 can be developed by some good guys
thanks dhiru for cm9 even it is not finished yet. it is good to see my phones capabilities.
