I just got a inspire 4g and rooted it. I flashed honey3d after a full wipe. How do I go about flashing the themes that are available for honey3d? go into recovery and flash the theme as you do a rom?
thanks
yep same as a rom. wiping dalvik cache is a good idea before flashing the theme but not mandatory. option to wipe dalvik is in your advanced menu in cwm recovery.

Sam is good about having properly ported themes available for his Honey builds, which makes getting themage just a flash away. Just a tip - I learned this the hard way - when you get the itch to try other themes, or another ROM and theme what you will want to watch out for is your Roms Build number, sometimes refered to as its Base, Base Build etc. Honey 3D is 1.35 or 1.37(?) So any themes not ported by Sam or the team would need that same base. Different Roms, updates, phones, etc, will have different bases, so you will want to make sure your chosen theme is made from the same foundation.
I thought my phone was dying - I was flashing and downloading, reflashing, wiping, and everything in between only to realize I couldn't just find a sweet theme and flash it and all be well. Anyways - best of luck!
ok, thanks!

AOSP Magic v 0.4 ~ DI18, Deodexed, Zipaligned, AOSP Lock-screen, & CyanogenMod Theme ~
Looking for an AOSP, fast, clean, cyanogen mod type ROM, well AOSP Magic is for you!
A whole slew of changed are coming down the pipe this time with the birth of version 0.4.1, including a cyanogen mod theme, including the white status bar, Pandora fixes, and more.
Both the original and universal iterations of AOSP Magic boost many AOSP applications including messaging, calendar, and calculator.
All of the iterations, as well are deodexed for faster speed and zip-aligned for better performance.
The only difference between the original version and universal are your launchers and widgets.
Original removes touchwiz and all related widgets, and universal includes both touchwiz and it's specific widgets.
All Sprint apps have been removed.
This ROM will not format your data or delete your kernal, no kernal is included you must flash your own or the kernal you were using will stay.
Themeing is still a work in progress, more updates to come.
V 0.4.1 Changelog
Fixed several aspects of the theme including the loading bar, and 3g signal icons and strength, as well as fixes for the battery meter. All thanks goes to Envynet, who has officially joined the team in development for AOSP Magic.
Changed icons for most stock apps to AOSP icons, pulled from cyanogen mod. (thanks to the whole team there)

You must wipe data/factory reset for either to work properly, just follow the tutorial below to keep your data or only wipe to start clean. If you are coming from a previous version of AOSP Magic, just flash the ROM in Clockwork recovery no wipe needed.
How to Flash
Unless you have are flashing over a previous version of AOSP Magic, DO NOT use ROM Manager to flash this ROM, and if you do don't select wipe data and cache.
1. Make sure you have ClockWork recovery installed.
2. Backup your current ROM. (to recover data and files)
- To do this simply go into Clockwork recovery and scroll down to Backup & Restore, select Backup then your current data and setup will be backed up.
3. Download any of the above 2 variations, and put it on the root of your SD card.
4. Factory/Data reset, don't worry you'll be able to get your data back.
5. Choose "Install zip from sd card."
6. Find the appropriate ROM you chose in the list, press the camera button and install the ROM.
7. Reboot.
8. Wait for the ROM to reboot into the lockscreen.
9. Success!
10. Go back into clockwork.
11. Backup and Restore.
12. Advanced Restore.
13. Choose your backup you made before flashing AOSP Magic.
14. Choose restore data.
15. Wait for Clockwork to restore your data and files.
16. Reboot.
17. Enjoy

Under volt and overclock kernel's will be available in the near future made by myself, but for now any kernel should work with either flavor.
thanks man. i'm downloading now. i was looking for something close to cyanogenmod.....
I really look forward to the development of this. I don't see any near-future support from Cyanogen, but all I want is AOSP. When you get a custom kernel up (OC, UV) and some screenshots, I'll move over. A tested, stable release would be nice, too. I'm super excited about this.

It's not much yet basically just a base, or beginning. I'm goingo start working on version 0.2 tomorrow with a release more than likely tomorrow night. Have to sort out a few fc issues with using vanilla apps. Thanks for your kindness, and let me know what you think.

Thanks for the support, I feel the same way, that's what sparked my development. All of the rest will come tomorrow in version 0.2 as of yet it is only a open beta. AOSP apk and kernals are on the to-do list.

it has more features then the stock one. like error message notications and liitle stuff like that.... i'll test it out if you show me how...
Good luck brother. Make this a bad ass rom and everyone will praise you. I am looking forward to try this rom.

Do you know if this will work with the Mixup kernel?
This is super relevant to my interest. I will beta test anything you can throw at me.
IMO people may like it better if you include ADW/Launcher Pro (ADW fan here) as opposed to the stock launcher you have included. MixUP kernel plays nice with this ROM as well.
Edit: shoudl've posted this a second earlier lol

I won't bother yet to take any screenshots as it's basically purely stock either with or without touchwiz now, untill version 0.2 hits tomorrow replacing all Samsung apks with that of the standard vanilla AOSP.

I am also a fan of ADW, however for whatever reason it isn't installing. It is included under /data in the zip if you wish to manually install it. Ill work on that though tomorrow.

i would also vote for something unstead of the stock launcher like adw since it just plain works and is stable even though i'm a fan of launcherpro. but i would keep it on /data side (i believe) so it can be easily uninstalled.
So does this have like the AOSP white taskbar etc. or does it still have the black one with the blue battery?

Black with blue. The main thing right no I showing off the speeds of the rom, deodexed and basically just to put something out there and my ideas I'm rollin' with and let the community supply their intrests. Don't worry by version 1.0 it'll be there, just a matter of messin' with the framwork a little.

Doesn't fully work. The Dialer is not theme. Only things I'm seeing themed are the status icons and the lockscreen.
Im on linuxs first initial port of the cm7 (the one he built and posted a link to) i just flashed it and got a loop boot of the cm7 boot screen. Pulled battery and tryef wiping the dalvik cache seeing if that might help but still bootlopped. Had to reflash the rom real quick. is this a theme that takes effect agter flashing or should have this shown up in the theme chooser app that comes with cm7? Didnt work for me though (most likely my error)

Running CM7 here. Love it
hi im new in this i rooted my phone via revolutionary cwm i wanna put a theme but i dont know how can i find it someone can help thanks
Where to start?
First (welcome to root and choices), find a theme that's built for whatever rom you're using. I dunno if there's much out there for stock Evo 4.24 rom. There are many for synergy, and the other new sense 2.1/3.0 roms.
After you find a theme you like that's built for your rom, put it on the root of sd card, boot to recovery, wipe dalvik cache and cache. Go up a menu to 'flash zip from sd catd', find the zip you wanna flash and flash it.
Oh, I know ldc has a nice Gingerbread themed entire rom in the dev section based on Evo 4.24, also, he has a theme/mod thread in the themes and apps subforum for Evo 4.24. I can't remember his exact user name, but it starts with ldc.
Good luck. Enjoy.

My bad. Ldc2335s theme thread is built off mikG, not Evo 4.24. But I still think he has a thread in development forum that IS a rom built from 4.24, and themed all Gingerbread green. Just a place to look. Good luck.

i just rooted my evo 4.53 with revolutionary.io,and i have a nice slpash, buti just downloaded darkhoarse theme and i was wondering if i unzip the file in astro or do i go straight into recovery.it says its for cm7 which is what im currently running.thaks in advance
sry,i just read how to.....dehhrrrrrrr.
I would suggest starting out with FroYo as it gives you MORE choices to choose from
GingerBread is a new OS and not very many kernels or ROMs out when compared to.
May I suggest netarchy-toastmod's 4.3.2 CFS-SBC kernel and a faster 2.2 ROM

Here is a complete guide on kernels

Hi Guys,
I have my phone perm-rooted....BIG THANK YOU....but I can't seem to get any custom rom to install except for Mikshifted 1.6. I've tried several AOSP roms, Cyanogenmod and Miui and they just stay at the HTC white screen. I've wiped everything and still no go. Any help is appreciated.
Did you wipe data, cache, and dalvik 3x before each install?

That's your problem, your using an old recovery. Download ROM manager from the market, open the app and at the top you'll see flash recovery. Once you updated your recovery you should be good.

hey,
im new this with whole thing and have a question about themes. I have a G2X and have it rooted with GB. Can i down load any theme to put on it or do i have to have something else?
Depends. Look in the theme thread for what roms the theme is compatible with. All of my themes are for the weapon rom.

Well you have to flash all the themes typically unless the rom has Tmobiles Theme Chooser (CM7 Themes) support. In order to flash you have to NVFlash Clockwork Recovery. And if your that far you wouldn't be using a stock rom because you'd be using a much better rom, probably with theme support....
Hence why no one really plays with stock. It's stock for a reason. If you start flashing, modding, changing, and themeing the stock rom... you don't have a stock rom.
Non-CM7 based roms require flashing themes
CM7 based themes can be downloaded from the market and installed on the fly
MIUI's built-in theme editor can download and combine tons of themes on the fly
I'm not sure what I have now. Think stock but rooted. I added some add ones but that's it. I did flash to get it rooted
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
In all honesty once you flash cm7, you wont go back to stock. Not only can you choose themes and more settings, but your battery life will increase. Mine nearly doubled in battery life. I can go all day without charging, stock rom I would be on the charger by 5.
I'd recommend cm7 period.

Where can I get that one at?

Seems like you're really new to all this so before doing anything I suggest you do some light reading on CM7 and what it really is. Head over to their website and see what it is.
http://www.cyanogenmod.com/
Also, did you root via NVFLASH method? If so then I'm assuming you at least have CWM 3.x.x?
If so, then the rest is easy.
Wipe data
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik cache
Format /System
Then flash CM7. Good luck.
Yes I am. Yes I'm pretty sure I did that way to root it. I will have to read and about everything.
