On boot, this happens. And it just hangs here. No bootloop, no crashing, just waiting for something I don't understand.

Nothing interesting in dmesg.
EDIT: re-flashed rom and fixed, but still, I'd to know what happened.

It starts some process during boottime, and just waits for it, and never actually boots, because it is waiting for a response. No errors reported anywhere.

Hi all,
I have visited this forum for some time and always found helpful information.
But this time I messed up this android phone and don't know how to fix it.
Late at night I was flashing custom roms to Motorola XT1032 and couple of other aps, I do it on CWM recovery using adb, so I where operating as root inside of device, had mounted all partition in Read and Write permissions.
Then when I finished applying custom stuff I wanted to delete not needed stuff what I put in /data/local/tmp. At this moment I thougt I am in this path, but I where in / and made "rm * " .
A second later I realized my mistake but that was to late.
Since that I tried to flash custom roms but that did not help to make wifi working again.
After flashing custom roms like ClockworkMod phone is working, mobile reception and bluetooth but no wifi.
I tried to insmod /system/lib/modules/wlan.ko but I got "insmod: init_module '/system/lib/modules/wlan.ko' failed (Operation not permitted)"
I think that need to flash rootfs but not 100% sure and I don't have copy of it.
Please help me.
Chris
I have the exact same problem and I have no idea how to fix it.

Android IPC binder throwing "failed to retrieve pid" in Samsung Galaxy S6 Nougat 7.0
Hi,
1). I just updated my Samsung Galaxy S6 device to Nougat 7.0.
2). Then after i rooted the phone, put the device into SELINUX permissive mode by doing the following command.
setenforce 0
3).Downloaded and compiled "SM-G920I_SWA_NN_Opensource" from opensource.samsung.com site.
4).Flash the kernel image using mkbootimg
5).Then i installed my android test application which calls IPC binder native service methods (testservice) from JNI (IPC client). For the first time after installation, application is able to get the testservice binder object if i called as below in JNI file,
binder = sm->getService(android::String16("testservice"));
6).But from the second time onwards i am getting the following error,
09-14 19:42:51.217 3177 3177 E ServiceManager: SELinux: getpidcon(pid=0) failed to retrieve pid context.

Getting the above logs continuously even though the testservice is running in the background.
Please help to sort out the issue.
Hello sr4shantan,
Were you able to resolve the issue? I am facing similar issue on Samsung GS7 Edge phone after upgrading to Nougat 7.0. Any pointers to help resolve the issue would be appreciated.
Thanks

And so on, and so on, until it fails to load everything and starts all over again.
And yes, if you look at the logs, I am porting a ROM to an obsolete device and no, I don't really care that it's "not gonna work". I just want to fix that dex problem.
What I tried so far:
- cleaning up the rom (did nothing)
- changing up a few libraries that had something to do with "dex" (did nothing, but I might have missed something)
- re-unpacked the frameworks (did nothing)
- re-downloaded the rom then re-unpacked the frameworks (also did nothing)
- downloaded another rom and re-unpacked the frameworks (did nothing, what a waste of bandwidth)
- cleared Dalvik cache (did not do anything, I do that every build alongside with a factory wipe in CWM)
- changed the kernel TWICE (did nothing except for making logcat work (it wasn't working for a few builds))
Anyone got any ideas?

Yeah. You need to Deodex both ROM BASE and PORT BEFORE you build. That is the reason you keep getting dex errors. Use ASSAYYED Kitchen or @superR's Kitchen or similar to accomplish this ?

Installation Instructions
ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST!
Coming from another rom/clean install:
Reboot to recovery, flash required firmware
Wipe system, cache,, data
Flash rom zip and gapps
Reboot
Updating from a previous build/dirty flash:
Wipe system, cache in recovery
Flash rom zip, gapps and any other zips you may use
Reboot
Never dirty flash from one rom to another
Builds are rootless, so to be rooted, flash your SU of choice
If you have any issues, grab a log after a clean flash, upload and link here please. Add steps to reproduce the issue in your post.
Do not report issues dirty flashing this over some unofficial build or with some kernel flashed.
Logcat Extreme app is great as you can choose to start recording a log just before reproducing an error and stop recording just after so you log just the part you need.
Xposed is not supported here, if you want to run it and have issues, try an Xposed thread for support and bug reports here only welcome with a clean install with no Xposed present.
Make sure to state which rom you are running when asking for support

Hi, thx for your hard working, the ROM is good.
I found some minor issues:
- System time does not synchronized with the internet.
- First time opening the wifi preferences page leads an ANR of system, please see the attachment.

Do you mean headphones or a proper hands free head set with built-in microphone?
Headphones worked perfectly for me during a call, I don't own a head set...

Encryption and SELinux
Thanks for creating this ROM. Does this ROM support device encryption? Is SElinux enforcing?

the sound of a voice in a wired headset appeared in both ROMs.
Validus (clean installation):
If you flash openengapps immediately (with a reboot in recovery), then it is impossible to connect to Wifi. First installed ROM, booted into the system, turned on Wifi, then flashed the gapps. When installing apps from the market, only 9 was downloaded and then froze. When you press the power button and try to boot from its menu in recovery, the phone also freezes.
A clean flash of GCOSP did not cause problems, while everything is working. I'll try all day tomorrow.
for some reason I can’t install the Pixel Launcher 10, only 7.1 works.
Thank you your work.
the test failed. Chrome does not work, applications constantly freeze, even a gps test.
as a daily rum I do not advise

Would be good if you logged all that and posted...
It does sound like a gaps issue though

no, it's not gapps, on another ROM everything works after they are installed
opengapps nano 20191209 beta

Please link me the gapps and supply some logs, I need to examine this...also, did you restore any backups before?
