yes i did search, google too
but i doesn't found any article about OC darky rom

You need to research Kernel's and find one that can be overclocked and works with Darky's Rom.

so xxkg6 unable to oc ?

XXKG6 is your Modem, not your Kernel, if you look at the first post of Darky'sRom it tells you about the kernels, I suspect you are on CF-Root kernel.
There are various kernels that can be overclocked, look at Ninphetamine thread. I don't know if it is comaptable with your rom, but the only way to find out is BACKUP, flash new kernel through CWMManager or Odin and give it a go

erm ok like this . i jus bought this phone not longer
and didn't even install any other app now
jus F.reset
and i have update my firmware to xxkg6
so now what should i do to OC ? i should install my custom rom first or OC first?

and this my current kernel CF Root SGS2 XX OXA KG6 v4.1 CWM4

I don't mean to be hard on you, but from your post's, you don't seem to have a great knowledge of rooting, never mind overclocking your phone.
Can I suggest that you do some hard reading in the relevant threads before you end up frying your cpu and seriously ****ing up your phone.

now i facing a problem.. i updating my firmware from original to xxkg6 2.3.4
with odin but it's almost half an hour but still doesn't pass

lol, I take it you didn't take the advice and do some research then. I for one do not feel bad for you at all.

lol, funny
i remove and do it over again it finish in few min = =
and i have done rooting
now i jus downloading the rom

Flash kernel info needed

Hi experts,
I am currently using LG P500 with stock rom & kernel. I have never rooted rom before this. I have read somewhere from useful thread from this forum like here but am still not so sure and wondering if any problem will effect to the stock rom if I would like to flash kernel on my phone.
Most of the time I depend on my mobile phone such as alarm clock so just worried anything happen to the rom will cause me troublesome. ^^; I might flash rom in future but not now. So am interested about flashing kernel since people said that flash kernel will save battery life as well as overclock cpu. It would be glad if someone could explain to me or sharing link with great info.
Thanks a lot.
regards

can i ask which software you are using?
you have to be careful when flashing kernels as some kernels may not be compatible with your specific software.
I would search for specific kernels for your software and if you have root, then make sure you have a backup kernel for the one you are about to flash and if any problems arise you can flash it back.
I use Kernel Update Utility 0.9 to flash different kernels to my device so maybe you can look into that once you have done your research

[Q] Samsung galaxy s i9000 noob asking

Hello xda forum! I am new and totally NOOB! I recently bought a galaxy s i9000 from a little research in the forum I decided that I have to root it because I am already having a lot of problems.. I am having now the original firmware from samsung(updated via kies) and I am in version 2.3.3 (basebend version I9000XXJVO and kernel version 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVI-CL210427 [email protected] #2 ...I have no idea what are those things!!! and build number GINGERBREAD.XWJVI) I want to root it on Ice cream sandwich! It look so cool and fast. but I have no idea how and which rom to choose because I saw 3-4 different in the forum.
So...
1. I want to learn how to root and what do I need.
2. I want your opinions on the ics roms (suggest me whats the best)
3. Is everyone have the same problem with the battery!?
4. If I done this and then I want to take the rom out is it possible?
I really thanks you for your time! and sorry if I created a same post..
more info about my phone (found them with a code):
GT-i9000HKDEUR
PDA I9000XWJVI
PHONE I9000 XXJVO
CSC I9000 XXJV9
Thanks again for everything!!!
1)To root your Galaxy S you can use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682 quick and easy.
2) I personally have not used the ICS roms for SGS but this one seems to be the most stable one around http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398223
3) Battery issues plagued me when I got my SGS as well, I would suggest getting something like Juice Defender off the market it can greatly help out battery life
4) Yes it is possible to go back to stock firmware all you need to do is flash back the stock firmware which you can find through Google.
1)to root my galaxy I used a modded kernel like cf root or semaphore which give you the root permissions and cwm
2)i never tried a ics rom because i'll try one of them when they will become stable, i don't like beta/alpha roms
3)battery isn't very very good...i can arrive till 8 pm normally, but if i start playing, wifi, music...in 4 hours battery is ko
4)yes if you want to take the rom out, you can flash a stock firmware/rom
hope it helps
then tell me how it has gone
thanks guys for your answers..I will think about doing it..and if I have any other question I will ask you...really thanks from your help
I use and still testing the stock ICS and i have to say that you MUST not install it in my experience so far in a week it have some issues. I am a noob too but learning, and this is a very versatil phone to use and manage. Meanwhile i sugest to upgrade to oldEr versions of GINGERBREAD

[Q] shw m110s

good day to all..
im new with this phone..this one is a korean version of galaxy s1(shw m110s)
im confused with how to install custom roms here...
what do i need to download..a kernel or a custom rom?
thanks xda
Moved to General Q&A.
The kernel allows the ROM to communicate with the hardware specific to your device. All ROMs have a kernel build-in. If the custom ROM is designed fir your phone, it will work fine. If the ROM was intended for a device in the same family as yours, you can flash that ROM, then flash the kernel for your phone, & it'll work. If the ROM was designed for a completely different device, nothing will get it to work.
Remember to always do a nandroid backup before flashing stuff!!

[Q] Question about overclocking~ (Note 2 N7100)

Hey xda~ noobynoob here and I got a few questions about overclocking, here we go:
1. Is it safe?
Just bought a Note 2 N7100 and got it in a bootloop [scared me senseless, thank god i fixed it]
2. Kernels?
Um what are kernels and what do they differ?
3.Are all kernels for overclocking compatible for my device/rom?:fingers-crossed:
Note 2 N7100 with Dr.Ketan's Custom Rom v10.0 android version 4.4.2 (I currently have my eyes on this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001838)
4.What kernel do you guys recommend (in case this one isnt compatible or if you just know a better one):victory:
I'm open to suggestions, I just want whats best for my phone
5.If something goes wrong flashing the kernel is there a chance I get bricked/stuck in a bootloop?
already messed up once when trying to flash my custom rom, im afraid itll happen again
ThanQ

The kernel, in the simplest terms, is the piece of software in the operating system that tells the OS how to use the hardware.
Custom kernels typically take the stock kernel and modify the settings, and/or add features and setting parameters (often ported from other custom kernels).

I don't know. It's your responsibility to make sure it's compatible. I know Samsung makes many different versions of their Notes and Galaxy XS models (for different carriers, different regions of the world, etc), so a kernel for one version of the Note 2 might not work with your Note 2.
Further, just like it is with computer processors, not all are created equal. After manufacturing, processors are tested sorted into "bins" (literally) according to how well they work. Typically processors are all underclocked below their potential to some degree. That way they're not maxed out and overheating won't be a problem. Since they're underclocked, that means they can be overclocked to their true potential, but how far is a roll of the dice. One guy's Note 2 might have a processor from a higher bin and stably overclockable to 1.9GHz. Or you might have gotten one from a lower bin, and all you can OC it to is 1.7GHz. OC'ing too far will cause glitches and crashes.

I can't help you with that. It's best that you just read up on the kernel(s) you want to try, and by "read", I mean start from the first post, and read every post until you've read them all. That way you know about possible problems and how to sort them out if you encounter them.
5.If something goes wrong flashing the kernel is there a chance I get bricked/stuck in a bootloop?

If you have a custom ROM, that means you have a custom recovery (TWRP, CWM, etc). From within the recovery you can do what's called a nandroid backup. It probably won't be labeled as "nandroid" (even though that's what we call it), but just a backup. This creates an "image" of your phone as it is when you run the backup. Store it on your SD card or PC (or both). If something goes wrong, you should still be able to reboot into recovery and restore your backup. Or, if you have a copy of your current kernel (custom ROMs sometimes have their own kernels, and might be available to download), you can just reflash the old kernel in recovery.

hmmm I guess ill need to read up more, I read on the kernels page something about needing a touchwiz based rom? what does that mean and how do I tell if my rom is tocuh based? As for that backup idea, that seems pretty useful, im gonna do that right now

TouchWiz is what Samsung calls its interfaces.
