[Tweak] Stock Android Animations - T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

Hey Everyone, The SK4G is known to have to have good graphics though you might have noticed that stock samsung window animations arent the smoothest, luckily I found a nice mod/tweak for that. Just Replace the "Anim" folder to your framwork-res.apk in the res folder and reboot. Enjoy!

Do you have a link for the stock SK4G anim folder? I would like to try them on a different device.

uhm..
can I get a guide on how to install this? and idk if this has to do with the animations but my web browser is uber sluggish when changing pages...?

not sure why this is in development and not themes. But you have to open your framework-res.apk (use 7zip or something similar) and delete the anim folder in /res/ . then drag this anim folder in, close it. then push the apk to system/framework on your phone and reboot

soo... where am I putting the anim file on the sd card or the /system of the phone?

pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk from your phone onto your PC
open the framework-res.apk as a zip using 7zip or winRAR
place anim folder in /res/, overwriting the anim folder that's there
place framework-res.apk back into /system/framework.

take the framework-res.apk from system/framework and place it on your SD or use adb.
then from your PC open the framework-res and delete the anim folder in res/ . then drag the anim folder from here into there. then close it and push it back to system/framework
edit: Sduvick got me this time haha

replacing framework-res.apk?

(basically im tryna put villians themed framework-res into sanpeis latest rom)
ok i found this ROM with a modded taskbar thing... the battery icon, 3g icon, etc were different.
i took the framework-res.apk from that rom and replaced it with the one already in my phone but now my phone wont pass the second flashscreen even if i leave it for half an hour.
wtf i checked the permissions of the new framework-res and made it to match the rest of the files in the system/framework folder but nothing changed
is it just not compatible?
if you change it it has to be from same style rom, if it's a legend rom you need one from legend rom, you cannot mix that easy hero and legend framework files
If the only thing you wish to change is those icons, then take both apk files apart with some compression tool(I know 7zip works), find the files that you wanna take from villains that are in res folder and copy them to res folder from sanpeis rom(ofc you need to put them in right folders, but when you open up res folder you'll know what to do. After you replaced those files, take all the files that were from start in sanpeis framework and the edited res folder and create a .zip file. Rename the file to framework-res.apk(no, the name shouldn't be xxxx.apk.zip, but you need to change the extension from zip to apk) and push it like you would normally do. Also you should probably want to know that the more compression, the more likely that the apk will fail So your best bet is to go with store. Good luck

You will have to sign your framework-res.apk using testsign.jar if you have made any changes to it.
Why would he need to do that if he's just going to push it?

yea i just want to push it from one legend-based rom to another.. it doesnt work but im going to try to tear them open and see what i can do from there..
Thanks
EDIT: NICEEE i got it working.. and i just replaced a few things from one framework-res to the other.. thanks again, i didnt know it could be opened with 7-zip hahah
No prob, glad to see it's working for ya. Enjoy it
png
i edited 166 icons in framework-res.apk
adb pushed it, worked flawlessly.
even on XDAndroid on htc diamond 2

Incorrect. /system/app/*.apk's donot require to be re-signed upong modifying them because the core doesnt no check its certs/hash for consistency. So just pull/modify/push. Use apk manager in my signature if ur new to this

[Tutorial] Status bar transparency

I've been seeing way too many requests for this with just about every mod possible. Considering the simplicity of this mod, the easiest way to please everyone, is for all of you to know how to accomplish this mod yourself.
BTW, this is for the status bar itself, not pulldown bar or notification background.
What you need:
- Paint.NET software (or any other image editing software that you are already comfortable with, this one seems to be the easiest for setting transparency though.)
- Your framework-res.apk AFTER you have all of your other mods applied to your phone. Otherwise you will have to apply this mod again every time you add or change mods (most likely).
- 7zip
So, you should have your framework-res.apk on your computer and 7zip installed to open the apk. Open up the framework, navigate to /res/drawable-hdpi folder. In that folder, find the file statusbar_background.png. You can either pull that file out to your computer to edit it or open it straight from 7zip (which is the best way to ensure there is no issues when pushing framework back to the phone) but you must have your editing software set as the default to open .png files.
Now once you have that file open in Paint.NET, you will see the image of the status bar as you currently have it. Up on the top toolbar, you should see the option "Layers". Click that then select "Layer properties" at the bottom of the drop-down. At the bottom of the window that pops up, you should see "Opacity" and the number set at 255 with the neighboring slider all the way to the right. I suggest using the slider because as you move it you will see the transparency applied to the bar image, allowing you to slide it around to the desired transparency.
Once you have finished setting your transparency, click the little disk image at the top left to save your changes, close the program out and you should then see a box pop up in 7zip (if you made changes without unpacking the file from 7zip first) asking if you would like to apply changes to file you edited. Say yes, then close 7zip, which may or may not state that changes have been made to the apk and if you'd like to update it, which you would say yes to if it does. If you unpacked the file from 7zip, simply drag and drop the file back into its correct spot, confirm you want to replace the file, then close it up. After all of this is done, just put framework-res.apk back into the framework folder on your phone whatever way you like, turn your phone on and you have a transparent status bar.
As a side note, you can play with Paint.net to see all of the modifications you can make to your status bar like changing colors, texture, and a few other things. One piece of advice is to have a backup framework-res.apk in case you make a mistake or something.
excuse my extreme noobness, but what is the best way to transfer the apk back and forth from the phone to computer? yes I am new to this and yes I am a retard and yes I probably shouldnt even try this..

Easiest way would be to get root explorer so you can navigate to the /system/framework folder and copy the apk from there to your sdcard, where you can just copy it to your computer. the other option would be plugging your phone into your computer, phone should be on, open up command prompt then navigate to your sdk/tools folder (get it if you dont already have it), then type "adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk c:\" without the quotes. the file will be in the root of your C directory. To get it back on your phone when finished, for root explorer just reverse the steps, but when moving the apk back to its proper folder, just hit the "Mount R/W" button at the top right of root explorer, copy the file back in and reboot. For alternate method, boot into recovery, mount /system partition, then in prompt after navigating to sdk tools folder type "adb push c:\insertdirectoryto\framework-res.apk /system/framework/" without quotes, then boot up and youre done.

Did you try editing the file without extracting it or did you extract it and reinsert it?
Or you could edit the .png and use metamorph to push it into the framework-res.apk without moving or unzipping anything. And you could just keep the metamorph theme with that one .png on your sdcard to re-apply it whenever you flash a new rom, without altering any other theme elements you've already applied.
What do I edit to change the pull down notifications?

transparent, transferring back to phone now..we will see
edit ..boot loops too..
i used root explorer ..extracted framework-res.apk to my sd card ,,then on my computer i opened paint.net and edited the statusbar_background.png file and then
zipped back up the framework-res and renamed to apk then copied back to my framework folder and it the forced closed and went into boot lopes...
i know im close to getting this right ..what step am i skrewing up?
i edited the file w/out extracting it...using root explorer i copied the framework res to my sdcard...plugged my phone in to comp, opened the framework res w/ 7zip, edited w/ gimp, saved all changes...unmounted phone, used root explorer and copied the new edited framework, then navigated to the original framework res and pasted the new one there to overwrite the original...then it force closed so i tried to paste it again, then the phone rebooted and boot looped? not sure if i did something wrong

That file is a .9.png file. editing these is ridiculously difficult and ill-advised.

I JUST remembered that I think you need to be running a deodexed rom to allow modifications. I've always used deodexed roms and forgot that it might be a requirement for things like this. Do either of you know if what youre running is deodexed or not?

metamorph is definitely more useful. I just have never created anything to run with it so I don't know the process of doing so.
im running skyraider vanilla, i tried to look on the thread to see if it is deodexed and i couldn't find if it is or not...may not be...thanks for your help

running new skyraider 3.3 and im sure it is
Yea it seems they are both deodexed, and btw I didn't know skyraider 3.3 was so awesome I'm tempted to switch over to it. But yea, I'm not sure why your phones aren't allowing the modifications to the framework. I might as well load SR 3.3 and see for myself what's up. I'll get on that later tonight when I have time and let you guys know if i figure anything out.
Use this with metamorph. It will work on any rom (tested on skyraider 3.3) except those that still use the "drawable-hdpi-v4" folder in the framework-res.apk. If your rom uses that folder, simply rename the folder it puts on your sdcard in /sdcard/AndroidThemes/HalfTransparentBar/
If you'd rather have a different transparency just replace the .png in the folder with yours.
In fact, if you want to edit ANY graphic on your rom, just put the .png in the /sdcard/AndroidThemes/xxxxxx/framework-res/res/drawable-hdpi/ folder with the same file name as the one you want to replace. And of course, do a nandroid backup just in case.
EDIT: As Berzerker7 pointed out, this file probably wont make anything transparent unless you have a modified services.jar. oops.

Well then that simplifies a lot of things lol. Thanks for putting that up for us, makes everything even easier.
Simply swapping a file won't work. It's the same reason simply swapping a transparent image for the notification pull-down doesn't work. Opacity is controlled on another level by services.jar. You need to modify the values there, as well as swapping out for a transparent image.
Btw, this didn't work for me on SkyRaider 3.3. (Metamorph or swapping the file).
It makes the background black but not transparent on virtuous 3.0.1

Ah, I must have already installed a theme that modified it, then.
WOOOT!
SO can't wait to try this!
Wow... epic fail on my part... edited the image, repackaged, compared to original, file sizes/compression were similar enough, so I copied it onto my SD card and went in to Root Explorer... Mistake number 1)forgot to do a nandroid OR a titanium, Mistake number 2)Renamed the framework-res.apk to framework-res.bak BEFORE I copied the new file to the /system/framework. As soon as I did that, everything went haywire so I did a battery pull and went to do it the ADB way from recovery. Thought I did that right, so I rebooted into a bootloop... Finally gave up so I decided to do mistake number 3)full nandroid restore of a backup that was admittedly a few days old (See mistake 1 lol) after which I had rearranged a few things and added more apps etc... Now on to the important stuff...
MAKE SURE YOU DO STEP 1 BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY OF THIS AND IF YOU RUN INTO PROBLEMS, DO STEP 2 SO YOU DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!
Step 1)For the love of all that's holy, do a Nandroid and Titanium backup first!
Step 2)In Clockwork Mod Recovery, do NOT do a full restore, instead go to advanced restore and simply restore the system (the part that you were messing around with to do this mod lol I realized this gem just as I clicked "Yes" in CWM, I still have the palm print on my forehead... haha
Hopefully you folks will have better luck than I did, but if not, hopefully I can save you some of the headache I went thru...

[Q] I want to make a theme...

But I don't exactly know how to get there.
I'm runing Wolfbreak's CM ROM V055, afraid to go to V06 because it might break my kernel install(still getting info on just what to do)
What I'm wanting is:
The status/pulldown bars(all icons except Wifi, and I want to keep Cyanogen 6's default slidey bar[the thing that ends up at the bottom]), and the animations from the theme used in SEMPITERNAL's Eternity 2 Build 0003a ROM. That will have to be ported to FroYo, I'm afraid(unless my theory at the bottom of this post will work).
I want the menu from LUCID-X10 by SicNside, with the black BG and white elements, but the png forthat i guess I'll have to negative a white hdpi one.
That's about it, the rest i want from arc theme which is default on my current ROM, including tickboxes, those arrows inside circles, the menu icons, etc.
My theory to sort of make this is to get the two involved APK's(default in CM and default in Eternity) onto my computer, and make them ZIP's. Then i can extract the drawable-hdpi folders from each and paste what I want from Eternity into Arc. Then I can replace the drawable-hdpi folder in the Arc framework file, and zip it at store.
That's where I stop knowing what I'm doing. Searching has not found me a guide on just how to make a framework-res.apk, nor even really making a theme altogether. All i can find is about xml files, resources, never anything about actually making the apk correctly.
Help, please?
I am stuck at the same point as you, I have no idea where to go from here :S
Anyone? I'm sure the two of us aren't the only ones...
Here's a zip of what I want. All I did was:
Took the framework-res.apk from the ETERNITY Rom and from the CM ROM, and pasted the png's i wanted from Eternity into drawable-hdpi-v4 in CM framework. Now, can someone make this work, please?
Its quite easy.
Just select the images you want to change.
Then open the framework-res.apk of your ROM with winrar or 7zip your choice.
Without extracting the files drag and drop the files to the winrar window in the right place. If you want to change images in drawable-hdpi migrate to res/drawable-hdpi and drag and drop images there.
Now close the archive and type this:
Code:
adb push <path to modified framework> /sdcard/framework-res.apk
adb shell mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock2 /system
adb shell dd if=/sdcard/framework-res.apk of=/system/framework/framework-res.apk
Make sure you take a backup with xrecovery before doing this. If you do something wrong you may end up in a bootloop. In that case just restore from backup and try again!

Grr, sorry but right now all my failure is just making that less clear. Type that where? Drag the files to the winrar/7zip window? Isn't that where i dont want them?
Ive followed all the different sets of instructions including yours on this forum as closely as i can make sense of them and always end up with a stream of FC's and reboot loops.
EDIT: does it only work on the stock kernel? I'm running Trip's kernel. I just pulled the framework apk then pushed that same apk back and it's still doing it.
EDIT 2: ok no stock kernel and its still doing it WHY THE HELL IS IT DOING THIS?!?!? I FLASHED THE SAME DAMN STOCK FRAMEWORK!
ok if i got the modded framework apk to my sdcard and used root explorer to paste it in, should that work? This laptop might be what's causing it
I have posted few tips here n there when ever people ask about it.
Check this for overall requirements
For your requirement, skip the optimization part out and just do image swap.
Like realunited123 said, dont extract, just open from 7zip, I use Win RAR and drag and drop the new image to the correct folder.
You need to remember few things here, check images name matches against old to new. Other important thing is resolution. you might get in to trouble if you take mpdi and put it to hdpi.
after updating the framwork I made a small template for you guys to play with.
Download attaches zip file open and go to
Framewrok-SJ.zip\system\framework folder and drag and drop the modified framework-res.apk
Dont try to install the attached file. its only a template for you guys to start working on....
After drag and drop you will see zip file size increased.
Simply copy to SD card and install via Xrecovery
You can try any framework to install like this without adb stuff
Remember to make a backup... because you will definitely screwup... we all have...... LOL

And one more thing, Is any sort of file transfer possible with ADB, or will i have to stick with WiFi File Explorer?

Thats good news.. one less problem to deal with....
create a folder call app on your pc and drag it to system folder in the zip file.
So you should have framework and app folders inside of it.
then copy Phone.apk & Contacts.apk and try to install via xrecovery.
there is a chance you might not be able to install as my initial signing of Zip file dosent included app folder and so MANIFEST.MF & CERT.SF dont have reference. on the other hand during installation Xrecovery dont check
key signature.
I didnt test this way so try, no harm will come to your phone.
Dont know about wifi explorer much. Im testing with adb generally. only final version im publishing in xrec.

In META-INF create \com\google\android folders for update-script file.
Make update-script a text file containing the following
Code:
show_progress 0.1 0
copy_dir PACKAGE:system SYSTEM:
show_progress 0.1 10
Be sure to add an extra blank line after "show_progress 0.1 10"
Compress META-INF and system folders to a zip, then move to your sd and sign with signAPKtic which is a free app in the market. Use "test keys" to sign. (signAPKtic is easiest to me,or you can use 1 of the methods Shiwantha suggested to sign)
I would also suggest zipaligning your apks before adding them to optimize your phone's performance when accessing them. Search zipalign on XDA and you'll find what you need...
*Edit- Also, X10 Mod Tool is great for pushing/pulling apks via adb without all the typing. I use it a LOT when testing different pieces of themes.

Make update-script a text file containing the following
Code:
show_progress 0.1 0
copy_dir PACKAGE:system SYSTEM:
show_progress 0.1 10
Be sure to add an extra blank line after "show_progress 0.1 10"

I think adb mask controller can do it in the zipalign tab> zipalign /system/app button.
And what format does the text file need to be in?
Signapktic is either telling me the zip doesnt exist or gives me an unzp error... and I supposed to me signing the apk's or the zip?
EDIT: I think I got it. Zip signer instead of signapktic. Let's see what my phone does.
Ok it looks like it worked.
Make sure there are no spaces in the zip's name. Looks like you got it!

EDIT: Oh, I'm stupid, I didn't even post it. Can you test it please?
It looks like it's signed already. Are you asking me to test the app or signature?

[Android 4.0][GUIDE]Port ICS transition animations on EVERY ROM & EVERY PHONE

Because some people asked me, I wrote this tutorial that explains how to port ICS transition animations on EVERY ROM & especially on EVERY PHONE!!!.
1) First of all, you need to download and install APK MANAGER:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701
2) Extract with WinRAR, from the ROM you want to modify, the file framework-res.apk, that you can find in the directory \System\framework\.
3) Go to the apk manager folder and place the framework-res.apk file in the folder "place-apk-here-for-modding".
4) In the apk manager folder, double click on the file "Script". A cmd window will open.
5) Where it says "Please make your decision", write "22" (Set current project) and enter. Then enter "1" (to choose the first apk) and enter. Then enter "9" (Decompile apk) and enter.
The script will decompile the framework-res.apk.
6) Now go to your apk manager folder, go to Projects\framework-res.apk\res\anim\.
In this folder there are the animations of your rom. They consist in some .xml files decompiled.
7) Download this:
http://www.mediafire.com/?1qjwtotg1r8umm1
8) Copy the files from the folder "anims" of the zip downloaded into the anim folder and you are asked to replace the files; choose yes. Then copy also the files from the folder "other_files" to the anim folder.
9) Now go to your apk manager folder, go to Projects\framework-res.apk\res\values\. Edit the file integers.xml and put these two lines under the line of "shortAnimTime":
<integer name="config_activityShortDur">150</integer>
<integer name="config_activityDefaultDur">220</integer>
Save.
10) Return to Script. Enter "11" (Compile apk) and enter.
The script will rebuild the framework-res.apk.
11) You are asked if this is a system application. Enter "y" and enter. Then a second question appears. Enter newly "y".
12) Then after it processes, Don't press anything & DON'T CLOSE THIS WINDOW!!! A new folder "keep" is created in the apk manager folder. Go inside it and delete the file "resources.arsc". Now go inside keep\res\anim\ and delete every file with the same name as every file of the "anims" folder of the zip downloaded.
Then return to Script and press enter. It processes, then if everything went ok, in the folder "place-apk-here-for-modding" a file "unsignedframework-res.apk" is created. Copy it outside and rename it "framework_res.apk".
13) Now you can create a flashable zip or you can simply push it to your system (but you have to sign the apk).
CONGRATRULATIONS!!! YOU ARE DONE!!!
And if you think this tutorial is useful, CLICK THANKS!!!
Now I'm satisfied and i can continue studying phylosophy for tomorrow test...
P.S.: If you think that this post can help or interest people of other forums (with other devices), please share this post and also give credit to me!!!

Did you pushed the modded framework-res.apk directly into the phone?
Do you think [Android 4.0 ICS] should be in the title in this form? It's a little misleading.
Hmm...It started FC. Removing my links for now. Gonna see why.
Works great
Great guide. It worked for me.
Oddly though, I replaced my framework-res.apk through root explorer, set all the correct permissions, and when I rebooted, my google accounts were deleted, along with my contacts and google music library.
Not a problem though, Ill just have to relogin to them.
Great, it works very well. I maybe found a more simple way to do it :
1. Dowload ApkTools package I've done here :
http://www.multiupload.com/Q6YSAF2MH3
2. Unzip it to your harddrive and put your FrameWork-res.apk in it,
3. Click on "decomp.bat"
4. A new "unpack" directory has been created, with decompiled files in it,
5. Download this:
http://www.mediafire.com/?1qjwtotg1r8umm1
6. Copy the files from the folder "anims" of the zip downloaded into the anim folder and you are asked to replace the files; choose yes. Then copy also the files from the folder "other_files" to the anim folder.
7. Now go to your apk manager folder, go to Projects\framework-res.apk\res\values\. Edit the file integers.xml and put these two lines under the line of "shortAnimTime":
<integer name="config_activityShortDur">150</integer>
<integer name="config_activityDefaultDur">220</integer>
Save.
8. Patch the anim files in it, and edit the xml,
9. When finished, just click "recomp.bat" to get a new compiled file "framework-res2.apk",
10. Juste rename the file and put it in a update zip file, you can use this one and replace the framework file in it by yours :
http://www.multiupload.com/PPMFV9Y316
Should work !!!
PS : If your framework-res.apk contains .9.png files, decompilation will fails. No problem with standard CM7 framework-res.apk, but some custom themed ROM can have the problem. Don't know how to fix that, maybe the 1st solution with APK MANAGER work better !?

Maybe this is the problem someone is having...Someone must compare your version and mine, to see which one works and which not. (Obviously with a non-cyanogenmod rom )

Well, in the APK MANAGER post they say :
>Optimize pngs (ignores .9.pngs)
So it should work better !! (but as I'm lazy, I still use APKTOOL one click solution )
I got instant bootloops! How? Can u patch for me??

Just a heads up. I downloaded your file and you renamed your framework-res wrong. There's a space between "framework-res" and ".apk" so it won't overwrite the original.
this does not have the rotation animation..
anyway to get that..

How to customise APK's Images [EASY]

First off you need a deodoxed custom rom , next copy the desired APK's from your System/App folder or from the zip you flashed or from wherever.
Download and Install WinRAR or 7Zip and drag the APK onto the shortcut on your desktop. It should open it up , next extract the LDPI and the HDPI folder/s onto your desktop.
Edit your pics with any program e.g. Paint.net . Then replace the modified folder with the old one.
Next download SignAPKTics from APKTops and install that. Drag the modded APK to your SD card.
Click START , choose the APK , click next , choose Test Sign and click sign! Wait 1.5 mins! And ot should be done. Now just (with root browser) replace the old one with the modded one.
And re-boot! Enjoy...
hah great tip for us
thanks
Has the OP tested this trick?

I'm not sure if he has tried it with system app. replacing a file like systemUI.apk or framework-res.apk will make our device continously give FC message. we should use zip file to push the apk to /system/app. system app is also should not signed. I always using this trick without signing stuff and it works. we just need to make sure that we're replace the ordinary file (not the .9 one) and put a picture with same resolution with the original one.
Exactly my thoughts. Resigning systems apps is a big NO. I already did it twice (SystemUI.apk) and I ended up with no statusbar. Good thing I had a backup.

afaik, it's all or nothing. if you resign one system apk, you have to do for all system apk with the same key.

Thats the reason I prefer flashing instead of manually replacing the files cuz then you dont need to set the permissions. Its good for lazy people like me
I have tried it and it works. I did it because when I didn't it said "status bar force close".

lol?
show us screen shots
when making a guide always post screenshots dude,
not just post words,
make it clarified and very detailed so that people reading this will not get lost,
also don't post for the sake of just putting it there,
you have a good title
but when people read this its not "easy"
try to put yourself in other people's shoes,
even i can't comprehend the output you put on this
no offence but make this better and stop posting threads that are useless
The easiest and foolproof method is to use Ninjamorph or metamorph app from market.I've modified tones of .pngs with them.
First open the apk with the app
Exit the app
Go to myfiles/Androidthemes/workspace/name-of-apk/res/
Then go to drawable ldpi
Take a look at all of the .png files
Find which .png you want to replace.
You should make your own pic with photoshop or anything to replace it with exact resolution and name
Store it in the sd-card
Open the app again
Go to Existing project/name-of-apk/res/drawable ldpi
Click on the .png you want to replace
App will ask you to replace it with some other .png
Navigate to the modified pic
It'll replace the .png
Then go back to homepage of app
Then click finish project
Tap on the apk name
App will ask you whether you want to replace the original apk
Do as you want
Reboot phone
Make a nandroid backup before everything. cheers

yea metamorph/ninjamorph is great but i'd prefer to do it in PC and just push it via adb cuz i use photoshop and i find it a hassle to use my phone to edit apk's
It's for those guys who dont know how to decompile/compile apk files with their pc.But I agree with you, pc is the best way to go.

May be you should try it out first.Replacing system apps with root explorer is a very dangerous business.I'm familiar with that.My phone started to do endless boot loops which even a nandroid restore failed to fix and ended up in flashing a new stock rom.

agree
pushing it using adb is a more safer way, because if something goes wrong with forcing it to system then you can just repush the original system apk
you was replacing a running apk. there's no doubt it will give you FC message (lol). try your method to replace framework-res.apk or any system app/framework. b16h22 is right. your method is dangerous.
I modify my systemui.apk but signapktic give
Doesn't exist
132 installed package
Error ...
I'm just trying to help people , if you don't like it then good for you. I'd love to add screenies but laptop is broken. If you could provide them then brilliant.
