I can't find a SIP client or SIP config (like there was on W6.5) for my WP7.
Can it be that MS left this possibility out?

Now that Mango is in developer hands, I would imagine we will see one soon since Mango supports sockets.
Waiting for SIP client !!!
I will switch to WP7 only after there is a good SIP client for it !!!

Anybody has recommendation about which SIP client I can use to make SIP calls over WiFi for WM 6.1? I don't want to use built-in hack for Live Messenger but real SIP client if available.

I am a long time WM user thinking of jumping Symbian wagon with N97.
Question that interests me most is the one not answered by any looney reviewers - does the phone have the native Nokia SIP client? and if not does it get enabled by installing "SIP VoIP Settings" application from:

While it's clear that Skype integration is there, presence of a native sip client is not confirmed
N97 doesn't come up on the official "supported voip devices" page yet:

the answers are both NO.
I got the N97 yesterday anfd there is no voip client, only the sip stack but no client to make or receive calls.
I called Nokia and got the answer that it was removed :-(
(Fring work perfect ;-)
Skype ist not integrated jet, Nokia say it will come in sep./oct. as an ROM Update.

I am using WM6.5 and already configured the VoIP/SIP Client.
Is it possible to activate the earpiece speaker?
I don´t want to use Fring because I think they are routing the traffic from the SIP server to their server and after that to the phone. I am not sure.

Sorry not useful I know this App but it work only on some providers, I have my own Asterisk and it has IP address so I need the application that I can enter IP address of SIP pbx and enter user name and pass to login. It is a softphone application lik 3CX for example or SIPdroid and etc.

I'm not sure how much effort is going to be put behind a SIP client for 7.5-7.8 as it looks like WP8 natively supports VoIP... hopefully someone can backport it?
