Thanks, I ordered one. Good buy!

Damn man. That's crazy. Although I thought $5 was a good price for my 12 foot cable. Although, I would never use this cheap of a cable for my home entertainment setups. The only kind of HDMI cables they see are ones made by Audio Quest. I prefer the Chocolate series since its right in the middle in terms of silver content and price.
Before anyone tells me its a digital signal and all HDMI cables are made equally, you can save your breath. I've seen the quality difference in both sound and video first hand. Have fun powering your 55in. high end Plasma or LED with your Dynex cable.

Damn, it's 3$ now lol

i bought one of these cheap hdmi cables from amazon for my g2x and it worked for like 2 seconds then stopped =/

You paid how much for your TV?
You paid how much for your device?
Gonna trust a 55 cent HDMI cable with them?
Hey, maybe they work fine. I purchased a 2 pack of 6 foot HDMI cables from BJ's for $20.00. That was a year after paying nearly $40 for one at Radio Shack. They work as they as supposed to.
Who knows?

Two 6 foot cables for $20 is still a cheap HDMI cable.

I got a cheap HDMI micro cable for my G2X and it kind of sucks. It has to be kind of jammed in at an angle and the slightest movement will cause drops in signal.
Now, does anyone have a recommendation on a good cable? Price isn't an issue.

I got a nice one from Best Buy and ordered the $5 one from ebay. The one from Best Buy is by far a better cable. Think it was like 30 bucks.

It's 3 bucks after shipping. I dont mind trying it out to see how it performs. If it works great, if it doesnt, thats fine too. I didn't even plan on using the HDMI port on my G2X, but for 3 bucks, I'll give it a try.

Monster MediaBridge HDMI Cables
If they were 50 cents with Amazon Prime I would get them.. but $3 after shipping or $4.99 w/prime.
However I've purchased some cheap hdmi cables online before and had hit & miss experiences with their functionality. However I've had nothing but good experiences with Monster's mediabridge series. I have a 6ft, 15ft, and 25ft HDMI>HDMI of this cable and they are sturdy and reliable.
$8.99 w/ prime on Amazon, so they're not THE cheapest cable you can buy but its a great one for the price.
Mediabridge - High Speed Micro-HDMI to HDMI Cable with Ethernet - 6ft
Luckily I have a good 10 or 12ft HDMI>MiniHDMI from my Canon ELPH so I'll just keep this bookmarked until that one needs to be replaced.

I got my HDMI cable today. It came from Hand Held Items (HHI). The cable is great... no crazy video and the audio is awesome. Nice gold-platted ends as well and they fit in my tv and phone just fine.
.50 for an HDMI a cable that gets the same job a $6 - $30 cable can do. Thanks for the recommendation!

Stores sellig mini to micro USB?

Any stores selling mini to Micro USB adapters ote rthan onlne?
check www.monoprice.com ... just got ordered 6 micro usb to standard usb cables (of assorted length, from 1.5 to 6 ft) for $12 bucks shipped, priority mail.. then got a wall plug at Target that takes 2 USB cables for 20 bucks... works nicely.
I accidently tripped over my charger cable and some how my micro usb got kinda bent out of shape, I was a bit upset at how cheap the charger looked. It wasn't very HTC like. well I ordered a cable and a wall charger, and a car charger. I might be buying the car docking station when it comes out. It'd be pretty sweet.

Best Buy has a ~2ft USB cable with a mini plug (same as G1) on it but it comes with a mini to micro adapter. I dont know about data on it but it works great with existing mini wall and car chargerrs. The adapter is only about 1" long. The one that I bought at Best Buy was 14.99 and made by rocketfish. Only one I could find with an adapter.
If you have a fry's store nearby, go there. I think you can find mini-micro adapters as well as micro-usb cables. Plus, Frys sells these things at far lower prices than bestbuy.
I'm getting this one:

CAUTION - this site is a kinda "I WANT ONE OF THEM, OH AND ONE Of THEM TOO but don't really need any of it". My first time there I got pig torches, rare earth magnets, a green laser & a dolphin bracelet for my lass (a token gift for my lass) - none of which we needed!
couldn't help my self - cheap as chips - with free delivery to boot
And before you ask, no affiliation with dealextreme.

i didnt have the time to wait for one online so i just found one at a local circuit city store and was done done with that issue.
Got one from my local T-Mobile store.
Just got mine on Ebay for $3.25 includes shipping.
Just wanted to mention, everyone spending $2-5 on adapters could get a micro usb cable from Monoprice.com for $2-3 and not have a little adapter to keep track of.

Micro USB host cable

I have looked all over the place online for a Micro USB host cable (micro male to usb 2.0 female) and cant find one anywhere, ok cant say anywhere because they have them on ebay from hong Kong. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a cable and not an adapter. I see all these picture of the cable I am looking for hooked up to a Xoom but cant find it anywhere.

I would like one of these as well. I can find adapters everywhere, but I have no doubt that I would break one off if I got it. I've found the Hong Kong stuff on ebay as well, but I don't really trust that stuff.
Its not that hard to make your own if your handy and have both an extra female USB and MicroUSB cable lying around.

I got a micro to full size female adaptor off eBay from
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180648882313
I then got a full sized USB male to full size female extension cable from
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230449719867
It is not pretty but got from NY and OH cheaply. It works well for reading my thumbdrive. Be advised I got two micro to full female adaptors from a company on EBay called cablesonline.net. Their adaptor will not work in my Xoom. The pinout is different I guess.
Does this adapter have the pins 4 and 5 shorted on the micro USB side to activate USB OTG host mode on the phone ?
Or else it's useless.
You now find a lot of cables, too, but the question is still pending...

Save yourself the aggravation and just get one of the Moto Camera Kit cable. Yes, it's pricy but you know that it works. The others are really hit or miss. I got lucky on one, but missed on three others. At least the misses were fairly cheap...still...
I bought ohne AT Amazon
http://www.amazon.de/Nokia-Micro-US...KI/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1312475592&sr=8-23
IT works just great, looks good and is flexible due to the little piece of cable between theplugs.
Only thing, you'll have to do is, file the corners of the micro plug to a more round fitting. This could be done in two minutes and is quite easy.

OMG! Just buy the motorola one. You may say it's $20, but hey at least you know it works. Trust me you want the real deal if you use a usb hdd so the wiring is not cheap. That way if something fries then you weren't using an off brand that voids the warranty.

Agreed. The moto cable is well built and the perfect length for me. I use an SD to USB adapter for my dSLR and am able to plug this in through the moto cable to my xoom and just have it out of the way.

According to the reviews these are not genuine cables.
United Integral says that this is a "Blackberry" cable and even uses a picture (illegally) of a Blackberry cable, an OEM one. This cable is NOT Blackberry and doesn't work as a data and charging cable for my phone. DO NOT PURCHASE this if you want a cable that works.

Problem is none should be having the slipping issue, especially if I'm paying 70 bucks for one. Why risk wasting my money on something I'm not sure will not have a problem. I'll pass on going through all of that hassle and look elsewhere (which I'm currently doing).

[REVIEW] $18 Deconn Slimport adapter

$40 + shipping is really too much for me. So I decided to take the plunge and get one of the Deconn adapters that have been floating around on ebay. Interestingly enough, the functionality is just as good as the OEM Analogix adapters.

I purchased my unit from kangyi2011 (link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261249574227) for $18, including shipping. The only colour available was white—which looks surprisingly good in contrast to my pitch black Nexus 4 and TV—as if it is highlighted in a dark sea of modern electronics. You can clearly see the Slimport branding on the adapter even though it is not OEM.

UPDATE: A quick ebay search showed me that the adapter is now available in black, and has an additional micro usb cable for charging, which was not included with my unit.
The build quality of the adapter is quite good, as all of the parts seem to be pieced together securely. The ports are solid and the micro usb cable plugs in easily and securely to my phone.
In addition to the HDMI port, there is a micro usb port on the other side of the adapter to allow for charging during use. This is a very important feature as I noticed that my Nexus' battery drained very quickly while mirroring, even at minimum brightness.
HDMI port
Micro usb charging port
As I mentioned earlier, the adapter works perfectly, mirroring my Nexus 4's screen at native 1080p. It is fully compatible with Android 4.3 and its updates; i.e. screen does not force into landscape now. I have not included any pictures of the adapter during use because it has the same functionality as the Analogix adapter.
The only gripe I have about the product is that the phone connection cable (which cannot be removed) is rather short. This means that you must keep your phone close to the adapter during use. This may make it difficult to play games, as the adapter can get in the way. Mirroring media is not a problem as you do not need to be touching the phone.
PROS:
- Solid construction
- Full functionality in comparison to OEM adapters
- Cheap price
CONS:
- Relatively long shipping wait
- Connection cable is a bit short

The nexus 4 screen ain't 1080p... so I am having a tough time believing it is being output at that rez. Are you sure it's native?
How long is the cable?

Yeah, my TV registers the output res as 1920x1080. How? Slimport magic.
The cable is about 5 inches

Thank you very much!
WOW, I was looking for this! It's hard to say if these chinese products have really good quality, especially when we're talking about a new technology.
I think I'll get one, since shipping costs to Brazil make the OEM one even more expensive!
I just want to ask you if you noticed some problem with it's frame rate, cause some hdmi and vga chinese cables, sometimes, even having the expected resolution, show problems with that. Have you tried some games just to see how does it go?
Thank you very very much, just for writing this complete review you helped me a lot! Cheeeers from BR!
Score, that's worth $18 any day. Thanks!

No problem, glad you like it!
No frame rate issues most of the time, but there are some microstutters (barely noticeable) during 1080p playback of certain movie files (wmv, mkv). This is to be expected though.

I found that sometimes I have to plug in twice (so plug, unplug, and replug) on my nexus 4 in order for my tv to detect the signal. I don't get any problems after that though.
