[Q] Xperia X8 Custom ROM - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Dear All,
i am new to android and even on XDA threads, may be i am posting this thread on a wrong place, so m sorry for that..anyways i have got xperia x8 black running v2.1, last night i rooted and installed xrecovery on my phone, and after that i installed another custom ROM on my device, which were not fully functional at all...i googled and searched over these forums but couldn't find any proper ROM (or i am unable to look for a proper one). At the moment I'm running GingerDX on my X8 and I love it. I've been following X8 development for quite a while now and must say I'm very happy with doixanh's work so far.

There's a lot. This link should help to point you in the right direction.
I'd recommended upgrading to the latest 2.1 first, root it with the software in the X10 forum, and then you can install xrecovery and have your pick of rom you would like to run. most of them still have issues with camera but there are a couple that are based on 2.1 that have everything working well. I think dualtouch (came out yesterday) has been incorporated, if not, there are a couple tutotorials to get dualtouch on your os.

Question regarding the modification of the Sony Xperia Z

Greetings to everyone, I'm new here
I'm here with a question regarding the modification of the Sony Xperia Z which I have googled, alas, to no avail.
Okay, here goes;
I recently rooted my phone, installed CWM and flashed DoomKernel for my Xperia Z..
However, I've recently read online that Roms and Kernels are two different things, and hence I'm wondering if it's possible to flash BOTH DoomKernel and another custom Rom (and get them working together?)
For e.g. DoomKernel and CyanogenMod, or FukLag Rom..
Any replies or help would be appreciated, thanks!

[Completed] Software upgrade for Sony Xperia Ion

Hi,
I am using Sony Xperia Ion (with Andriod version 4.1.2 , built number 6.2.B.0.211).
I would like to upgrade software to the latest Lollipop. Is this possible? If yes, can someone help me with the guidelines to do so?
thank you,
Sujesh
Hi,
Here is a thread on the only Lollipop rom I could find for your device. It's a test build, do its likely to contain many bugs... Possibly making it hard to use on a daily basis.
I suggest reading the entire thread to see what issues people are reporting with it,
> Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion > Xperia S Android Development > Pure AOSP Lollipop test4
Good luck!
Thank you. Thread closed.

c1505 - kernel ?

Hey guys,
I have to stay with this oldie for a while; can you point me to the newest CM kernel(download link) for the c1505?
Any ROMs you recommend for this device( also, point me to the download!)? Is there MIUI for this device?
One more thingng, I can't find how they call this device + the merged forums make it difficult to find device-related info- is it Sony E or Sony Ex? I bought it as a replacement phone and I have no idea what I'm dealing with here. ^^''' It's always about J or Tipo or miro- not much for c1505. Ain't sure...
Thanks!

Hi!
I don't recommended to use the CyanogenMod kernel because you have to use it only with CyanogenMod ROM and it's buggy (GSM bug in CyanogenMod 10 and camera bug in CyanogenMod 11).
If you want a good, stable and bug free ROM you can try 11.3.a.0.47 deodexed and Odexed stock based with a bIt customization with Zeus Kernel.
I think that you have already unlocked the bootloader, right?
P.S.: Sorry for my bad English.

Nope, didn't figure out how to do it myself- I always get the 'cannot be unlocked the official way' message. I gave up. It always worked for me, never had any trouble, dunno why it doesn't work with this peace of beep. *cries*
Well, I'm not a fan of CM myself- I just figured out CM would be there for taking on this device. Wasn't so sure about other options.
Thanks for the ROM! Gonna check it out- hope there's no gapps there.
