So I just got an Infuse this week... I've been through 4 so far because I kept having them do random stuff... first two cooked to the point of having to pull the battery because it would just freeze. Third one due to reboots about every 15 minutes... So far I really like the phone but I'm noticing a trend.
On the last phone I just got, I added my 4 Google accounts (three personal, one work Google Apps) and set only two to sync calendars. Well I tried to pull up the calendar and it freezes. This was happening on the first two but I didn't think anything of it. Here is the question, have other people had problems with the Calendar app and more than 3 or 4 google accounts?
I'm noticing a trend that 4 accounts or more just kills the app - regardless of how many calendars you have set to sync. The people at the store couldn't believe it but I showed them as a fresh phone went into a blank screen in the calendar app and had to be rebooted to get it working.
So just to follow up on this. Found what the bug was after several days of trying something, resetting everything, going at it again! The Infuse has a bug that if you have multiple Gmail accounts and while adding them you turn off the calendar sync, it causes issues. The root of the issue is that "All Calendars" does not automatically get turned off when you deselect a calendar for sync. So if you don't want every calendar synced then do this:
1. Leave the calendar selected for sync when adding the account.
2. Go to Calendar app -> Menu button ->Settings
3. Calendars -> Uncheck "All Calendars" (This is the part that was getting me, this stays selected even when you don't sync all the calendars so its going for data that isn't available)
4. Select the calendars you want, then exit the calendar app.
5. Go back to the main Accounts and Sync and unselect sync for the calendars you don't want.
Just leaving this for anyone else that has this problem in the future - I lost hours of my life at the AT&T store and playing with this to get it working... hopefully someone else can just read this instead.

Hi guys,
This problem has been driving me nuts for the last week:
I love the HTC Clock on the ChaCha with Facebook messages underneath. Much more useful than the weather (Jeez! look out the window!)
Anyhoo, for the last week or so it's been saying "no recent updates" my daughter suggested I just didn't have any decent friends but no, pressing the panel takes me to loads of updates in HTC's Facebook app.
I've tried clearing the cache on Sense, toggling WiFi on and off, rebooting the phone. Still nothing
I can't see how I can get to any settings for the clock, it must hang off of something else but what?
Both the Facebook's own homepage widget and HTC's Friendstream both seem to be working fine. Hope someone can help!
Thanks,
Andy
Aha. I had this exact problem last week and made me realise how much I missed the feature. No end of rebooting, removing the widget / adding it again seemed to fix it. Then had a go a looking for other widgets to use instead, but I couldn't find anything that fit.
Anyway - the solution is to go:
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All
Scoot down to 'Facebook for HTC Sense'
First go 'Clear Cache' if that options on.
Second go 'Clear Data'
You'll get a pop up telling all data will be deleted, click OK.
How go back to home click on the Clock widget, go back.....
And hopefully, you're back in business!!!

Yay!
After reseting the data I had to re-authorise my "f" button and "**** about" a bit with the facebook app... then the little sync arrow appeared at the top and it all started working
Thanx!
Tried all of the above with Wifes phone and It didn't work, Then again she has like hundreds of facebook contacts through the stupid games she plays on there so maybe there is just too much info to sync with such a small amount of memory on the device, Anyway I don't care as its her phone lol
Hi,
I'm having the same problem.
I deleted the Facebook application. I installed again.
"Facebook" application, and the "Facebook for HTC Sense" I deleted the application data. But it was not the solution. Still does not update facebook widget.
How can I solve this problem?
Is there any way, other than deleting the facebook account, to NOT get facebook friends' birthdays on my productivity screen?
I even went to the settings on the productivity lockscreen and took off facebook (only left my gmail account) and i de-synced the calendar from facebook on my accounts.
on my agenda widget it works just fine, i uncheck facebook and i dont see the birthdays in my calendar anymore, however it doesnt work that way with the productivity lock.
Im on ORdroid, but it also happened on Elegancia Sense 4.0 and happens on my buddy's evo3d with Newts (a Sense 4.0 RC ROM)
Another thing: does WI-Fi turn off eventually if the screen is off for a long time? Keeps happening on all Sense 4 Roms and ive selected for it specifically not to turn off when the screen goes off. But this will happen after 20-30 minutes.
I'm having the same calendar event productivity lockscreen problem. Even when I disable every calendar account, they all still show up.
Would love some feedback on this!
Same here. I do not want to see weird facebook people everytime i turn on the screen!
Has anyone managed to find a fix for this?
I have no issues with the lockscreen running pkmn 5.1 just went to settings from the lock screen style screen and changed which calendar events I wanted and pushed okay. all works well.
Posting here since I don't have enough of a count to post in Elegancia thread.
No matter how may times I change my screen timeout, it always reverts to 30 seconds. I've done it from the Setting menu, from third-party utilities... and it looks like it sticks, the new setting shows up... for a while. Later the same day, or the next day, it's back to 30 seconds.
Also, although enabled in Sync settings, my stock email app does not sync in the background - it only ever syncs when I open the app. True for both the Hotmail and Yahoo accounts I have configured. (The Gmail app is always up to date.)
If anyone has any pointers for troubleshooting and/or resolving these issues, much appreciated.
Many thanks to Steve of Elegancia and all those assisting him Fantastic ROM.
OK, I have yet to find a solution to this. I have all Calendar notifications turned off, I have all syncing turned off on all accounts, and yet, I keep getting Calendar notification on the screen. I just went into the application manager and as a last resort disabled anything with Calendar in it, to see if this resolves the issue.
I am not rooted and I am running stock OS. Any other suggestion, please advise, I'll let you all know if disabling all others have worked.
That's a very frustrating one, very common 'feature' for all the Xiaomi bloatware. I thought 6 years later, they will finally fix the sync.
So basically, when the phone goes to sleep or at least I do not touch it for more than 5 minutes, the Gmail notifications do not get delivered unless I unlock the device. Sometimes even if I unlock it, the said emails do not pop up unless I open the app or manually click my Google account to sync.
Things I've done so far:
Check any sort of notification setting for the app itself and make sure I get the proper notification type. Also the app settings are all right.
Check the battery saver nonsense and make sure the app isn't limited in any way.
Check battery saver and make sure it is not restricting background usage for the app
Reinstall Gmail app using XiaomiADBFastbootTools
Remove and re-add my Google account to the device
'Locked' the Gmail app to the memory
Things I cannot do on this crippled Android version, but work for regular apps, are:
Set 'autostart' setting for Gmail. The app seems to be preinstalled and I cannot manipulate this option for it.
Your help is appreciated!
maybe you could uninstall the Gmail using XiaomiADBFastbootTools and later you install Gmail again from Google Play.
I'm having the same problem. I have to go into the app and refresh and so on.
Strange, never had such problems (with all apps) after configuring the data saver mode for the app. Gmail is working without a problem here
The problem seems to have gone away for the last 3-4 days, but I was mostly on data connection. No clue how. There were no system updates.
From time to time it gets stuck when I am on Wi Fi at home. Either never comes or is delayed a lot.
Most notably when the phone goes to sleep (more than 10 minutes of not touching it or not receiving any other notifications that might wake it up.
Have you checked the notification settings within gmail? Stock configuration is that it will only inform with important emails and not all emails. Maybe this is also part of the problem?
