[Q] SetCPU recommendations??? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have installed the clemsyn v4 kernel...what are the best SetCPU settings that seem to be the most stable? Im new to SetCPU and not quite sure how to set it? What should the scaling be set too? Right now i have it on "interactive" is that good or should it be "ondemand"???
What about profiles? What are some basic profiles i should set up? Charging, temp, ect...
Sorry noob here just trying to learn...

Interactive is fine. There's no right or wrong imo.
Play around with the settings to your liking.

Faux clock and SetCPU

I have Faux clock and Setcpu installed on my phone, I use SetCPU for the widget and the profiles, while I use Faux clcok for GPU IO control and undervolting. Will having both controlling the cpu cause any battery problems or cpu problems? I have them set both to the same settings atleast for the screen on and screen off (these are the only settings that both apps have the same of) to avoid any problems.

its probably better to only have 1 cpu controlling app running at a time. if you want to undervolt and control the cpu speed i recommend system tuner. the user interface may scare you at first but just go to the tweaks icon at the bottom and set the cpu speed/profile and undervolt there. it will be all you need unless you really find it necessary to control the gpu, which i dont think is really necessary anyway

CM10 Performance settings + SetCPU

Although I love Instigator's Kernel, I believe that it is time to move on from the aging kernel code.
I have started to use the stock kernel with the Paranoid Android by gs2usr, but I wanted more options to my cpu usage so I got set cpu.
Now my question is, will set cpu interfere with the performance settings originally in CM10? I have set the setcpu governor to the same gorvernor in the performance settings. The addition I have is the profile at certain battery points. Did anyone experience anything that caused the app and the CM10 settings to interfere each other causing even more waste in battery?? (like putting teo anivirus software on one computer? )

Best option is to stick to the performance setting built into Cm10 because it's had all the correct paths on how to adjust the kernel properly .
I don't use set CPU anymore I now use system.tuner pro as an alternate that's it

From what I've been reading the performance module in cm10/aokp is still a bit iffy, but I do agree with the system tuner pro recommendations

[Q] Using multiple Kernel tweaking Apps

This may be sort of a noobish question but I was curious if using multiple apps for controlling kernel settings, in my case I am using both FKU & Trickster mod. I have the latest version of Franco's kernel flash (r32). I use both cause trickster has some options that FKU doesn't but I really like FKU's intergtayiong with system monitor and some of the kernel settings it has that trickster doesn't. I make sure that the settings for CPU min/max freq, volt, governor, IO schedule etc etc are set the to the same specs on each one. So is this OK to do, or will it cause issues with the kernel itself and/or my settings

What options does trickster have that franco doesn't?

Hi,
Should not have issues as long as you are sure that you have the same settings on both apps, like you do. For example don't set a different i/o scheduler or a different CPU governor in the two apps or it may conflict...
If you use mainly FKU, set it like you want then use TRickster Mod for the setting you want, no need to re-set the same settings in both apps (I don't know if I'm clear here ).
For example setup your CPU setting in FKU, let the CPU settings in Trickster Mod no need to re-apply them, it will just read the CPU settings from FKU...
Stuff like headphone volume boost which is good for me cause I am a active guitarist in a progressive metal band and am going deaf from playing shows lol
There's a few others. And a couple of the settings that they share I like better on trickster then fku and visa versa. By that i mean the way they allow you to change them is different on the two apps and I like the method better on one of them more so then the other sometimes. I'm weird like that I guess haha

I get what u mean. That's generally how I do it. But some settings dont seem to translate. Like voltage. I dropped the stock voltage by 25 In fku and dropped the max cpu freq a bit and the CPU freq translated over but the voltage setting didn't. So I had to change that manually.

When you use 2 apps, sometimes you change the settings in one and the other writes the settings back and they don't translate. I use 2 apps myself. Voltage is fine as it is only available in one of my apps, but governors are available in both ans although sometimes it translates, otehr times it overwrites so I have to manually change the values in both apps to ensure it sticks.

That happens with me sometimes too. So far so good tho. I had to manually change voltages tho like I said. The CPU freq translated over tho as well as governor and IO Scheduler.

Hi, I have a question, I've installed Trickster mod (donate) but I don't have many features such as screen settings and voltage settings, how can I unlock them?
Many thanks!

I use the free version and I have the Voltage settings, so I am not sure why they are not showing up for you, especially since you are using the Donate version. You can always try out FKU, I have the paid version of that app, and it's great. Now that I have found settings I didn't know were on FKU, I only use that one. Not to say Trickster isn't great, cause it is, just comes down to preference in the end.

Are you running a custom kernel? If you're still running the stock kernel, you won't have those settings no matter which app you use.
Yes I'm running a custom kernel but I thought there was a way to undervolt all frequencies at the same time. I tried Fku and it's possibile but I haven't got screen features yet, I will change kernel. Thank you!

You are right about that, there could be some different, added or lost settings on app to app and also kernel to kernel. But using two applications can interfere each other, if you don't want this, you should be carefull about apply settings on boot option. You should choose one application to enable set on boot option and not in other application. At the end your device will open even you set on boot option in 2 apps but valid settings while device is running depends on which app grants superSU right fisrt or second.

[Q] Tf300t overclck options

I'm running CROMi-x 5.2, 4.2.1 and despite the tweaks i find the tf300t quite laggy still, especially with multiple user profiles on it.
Is there an app that I can set overclocking profiles so that when I'm at home I can run it at 1600-1800 mhz and then set it to normal speed when on the road?

Multiple users is a no no I'm afraid. Android can't cope very well. If you want a lag free experience you'll need to stick with one user. I don't know any ROM that can cope with multi users on the transformer series.

You could try using tasker to control the overclocking profiles.

CPU settings app?

What apps are you guys using to adjust CPU settings? I haven't cared to tinker with CPU settings for a long time now and it seems my old go to app (TricksterMOD) doesn't work so well any more.
Any suggestions?
i guess kernel adiutor would be a good choice.
