T959V Language - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Hello,
Ive bought SGH-T959V in the USA. Actually, i live in Poland, Europe. Is there any way to install Polish language? Can i for example, flash the phone with Android which supports Polish language? I have 2.2.1 Froyo installed now. Downgrade/Upgrade will brick the phone? I could for example downgrade to 2.1 Polish firmware. Is it possible? Thanks in advance

Try morelocale2. Not sure if polish's on it, but my friend uses that for korean. Luls

You may want think about unlocking the phone

Check out the sgs4g bible in the development part of this forum on how to do it

if the firmware is made for the sgs4g, then yea, you should be able to odin it.
if you are going to unlock it, then i would recommend calling up tmobile and getting it done for free. the guides are tricky and people seem to be corrupting their imei if they dont know what they are doing

I would definitely second this. T-Mobile has great customer service, so if you ask within reasonable bounds, they'll definitely help you.

connexion has a riffbox, this is how the firmware is installed at the factory. he wants this so he can provide a service for us. so the answer is 100% yes. don't speak so fast. Samsung also may have a way to repair bootloaders throught the USB, Adam outlet has been researching ways to do this and might be close.
connexion I'm on my phone so it is tedious to search and provide a link, but there was a untested bootloader dump in lost1's Odin package, the pit doesn't work with that one.
also gtg and other are trying to get Rogers bootloaders but without your service it is getting hard to get a tester, not sure if they got a good dump yet. thank you for your interest. i hope you are successful in finding what You need.

Sorry about that, I was under the impression that he is trying to fix his bootloader, perhaps I did not read his post properly

he will fix bootloaders soon, the riffbox means opening up the phone and flashing directly to the board. and that means the ability to test gb bootloader dumps in confidence! hopefully we will have a tested working gb bootloader dump before then but if not connexion will be a good person to be involved.
but i understand that you may have thought he was flashing with Odin. still bootloaders are needed to use the pit file if used with heimdall, little known fact but i didn't think the bootloader request would be weird no matter who it is. i try to assume the poster has the knowledge unless it is otherwise apparent that they don't.
connexion - try to catch up with gtg465x or LinuxBozo on IRC, #infuse4g on freenode. They can hook you up.
BTW, due to troll problems webchat users are currently banned, you need to use a real client.
Thanks guys ill give one of hem a shot. Currently I can do the Captivate, Vibrant, i9000, TAB 7", Nexus S and Epic aand many many more. The Infuse has very similar hardware. If I can map the pinouts I may be able to connect and re-write a Captivate bootloader which COULD allow download mode and allow me to flash the correct ones. If that won't work but I can still connect via JTAG I can still just back up a working Infuse to create my own bootloaders. This is worlds first stuff we are talking about and I'm trying to get you guys in on a solution for a hard brick...

BTW, do you know of anyone who has done work with using OpenOCD and FT2232-based JTAG dongles instead of the RIFF box?
If I can find a candidate "guinea pig" device (even a non-Infuse similar to ours) cheaply enough I may try getting the OpenOCD + FT2232 combo going with a Bus Blaster v2.
Which reminds me - What's the target Vref voltage for Samsung's JTAG port? Bus Blaster v2 can go down to 1.2 volts.
I've never tried using any other JTAG solution. I write to i897 with a JTAG Target Voltage of 2.8V...
Has anyone tested those bootloaders and actually flashed them? They appear to be legit after looking at them with a hex editor. If they are legit then Infuse bootloaders are NOT compatible with i897, T959 or i9000 bootloaders as both sets of those bootloaders for Rogers and ATT hard bricked my test Vibrant. Still does not mean I'm out of options. If I can connect to an Infuse via JTAG, I can write a script and inject my own bootloaders that way most likely.
Here's the real sticking point. We've tried heimdall and odin to flash bootloaders, and they either error out on flash, or just don't take at all. We're guessing there is some sort of signature checking, or the infuse has some other way of flashing bootloaders correctly. No one really has had time to sit down and figure it out completely.

Help, i will give thanks 2 all

i need a full arabic rom, so please help, i will give thanks for those who are willing to
help a fellow sgs2 user who is lost in the t959v fourms
Currently there isnt any but on cm7 there is language packs and all that good stuff to go onto it but to get on to cm7 right now requires a lot of steps so if u want to try go ahead but its recommended for advanced users
..note that cm7 is still in alpha state as far as roms go
Sent From a Galaxy S with 4G
No offense but I would not steer him anywhere near cm7 for now he seems to be very new to all this and is just gonna run into problems. It one thing to be able to read directions but you need some knowledge to go along with it. I flashed cm7 and was hesitant to do so because of elaborate steps but it was successful. This rom is not ready enough for me yet. I even had a hard time reverting back to SCOM.

I agree with anoymonos. This guy is a noob and all over the place. Needs guidance to a wiki or read through many threads. Second questions in the same day requesting stuff that has answers, this is no good for development threads... wait until he gets 10 posts. LOL
@android_isda_****
You need to read man. Get to know everything and try to keep up to what's been going on. There are many guides around, mostly in the General Section that can help you with that. Althought the Bible isn't too explanatory, there is an Outline of what has been developed. There other just hang out in the development section and read, read, read, read... until your eyes burn. Just an advice.
Wonder how they would treat us in an Arabic forum if we came in looking for an English rom LOL
Also in OP he states that he is using SGS2 he couldn't even take the time to READ what forum he is POSTING. In Lol

Hi android isda something
I didn't quite understand what phone you're using SGS4G/SGS2...
Anyway, if you do use SGS4G - flash any 2.3.6 ROM and flash my signature link RTL support.
This will give you Arabic support.
Regarding full UI Arabic ROM, I wrote a guide on cteating your own localized ROM, but you need to read a lot before you're there. I suggest asking the help of more experienced SGS4G Arabic speakers.
I think MIUI also has language packs but it will take months before these will apply.

[Q] samsung development/download

Hello
I've searched the internet up and down.
Does Samsung give us an oppertunity, to download org. ROM?
I need for several devices, both for development and updating my phones.
Samsung KIES software is so crappy, that i rather do it myself.
I hope the answer isn't here, so it isn't me
Hope you guys understand, english isn't my first language
I'm not sure what you are asking for. Are you looking for the original ROM that came with the phone? Google should be able to point you in the right direction. And there is no need to ever use kies, you can back up everything easier with third party apps like clockwork mod or titanium backup. For me kies is just bloatware that never works right

Hey if you're looking for original Samsung software the best thing you could do is sign up with Samfirmware.com they have all the old and new software online
Don't forget to hit the thanks button
send from omega phone

Its was exactly the thing I was searching for..
And again, I think my english is understandable, but it can be hard to find the right terms.
And I agree that the Kies software is crap..
Thanks again

[Q] LG Thrill Optimus 3D P925 - Install flash tools, etc from Mac?

Hi guys. Sorry for this, I was unsure where to look. I attempted to ask in a different section but was told to post here.
Here's the problem -
I am stuck with this cell , cannot make calls, connect to wifi, etc. I have read many complaints about this. Basically, I am told by others I need to flash it, and get an upgrade. Currently I am running Android 2.2.2. Sorry guys, I am VERY new to all this. I cannot seem to find any help upgrading it. Of course I cannot do so when attempting via the upgrade option in settings, due to the wifi issue. Can someone please point me in the direction of a tool kit which can be used with Mac OSX?
Also, when I attempt to make calls, I get something like "Reorganizing internal processes"
Software version is currently LGP925 - V10e
If I need to tell anyone anything else about it, can you please let me know? Im so bad with all this, again sorry. I am a recent convert from Windows to Mac. Just not sure how to get the proper tools I need. If I could find them, I can then very easily just follows the steps, which I made a note of.
Thanks so much for anyone who can offer a little assistance.
As far as i know there isn't a Mac Toolkit available.
Apart from that you need to upgrade to Gingerbread but i can't help you on this because i am from Europe and i don't know what's going on with your basebands there..
Maybe a P925 U.S.A user will answer to your question.

Nothing for Mac? That seems a bit... odd, no?
Well thank you anyway.
I have a mac as well and was never able to find a kit. Try asking a relative or a friend if you can use a pc. You'll also need to flash a v20p kdz or a v21e kdz. Whichever one works best for you

[Q] Trying to set up new APN

I am trying to set up a new APN on my Galaxy S after switching providers. I can set up the new APN successfully, but I cannot delete the old one, and it keeps reverting back to it no matter how many times I try to switch it back. There is a disable function, but it doesn't seem to work on the original APN. I can make calls and receive messages, but I cant access web. I called my new provider (Straight Talk/Tracfone) and they said it is because it isn't unlocked. When I called the old provider (T-Mobile) they said if I could receive calls the phone is unlocked.
Thanks for any help!

Anyone? Please and thank you!
Are you on the stock gingerbread? I think it pulled that stunt every reboot.
As Champ hints at, you really need to
Confirm that you have a SGH-T959V, not some other "Samsung Galaxy S" phone
Let us know exactly what firmware you are running (often in About phone)
Please remember XDA is primarily a forum for and about development and that there aren't a lot of people that frequent here any more. We'll try to help you as we can, but silence generally means that you've either posed an incomplete question, or nobody has an answer for you.

Read, read, and read again. Lumin30 did a great job in this thread....
Several options (as I see it).
1. Search xda for "super one click root" and run that from a pc.... some have had problems rooting this phone with it though.
2. Read that thread (first couple of pages for sure) & and flash a new kernel that will also give you root. I would recommend byran's subtle... it's linked in the thread.
