[Q] [REQUEST] Video Calling - HTC Sensation

Hi guys, anybody knows if there is a way or a mod to make the real video calling (not skype, tango, etc) the one like a phone call? THKS

+1
Hi,
I would be also very interested to be able to use video calls (not internet calls, but phone video calls).
Any solution ?
Thanks.

Hi,
Thank you for your answer !!
The problem is that Google Talk only works calling someone who uses also google talk.
The video call solution that I search is the one which permits to call any phone having video call capability using the operator line (without using internet).
It seems that HTC doesn't implement this functionnality (at contrary of samsung on the SGS2 for example), but perhaps a creative developper has solved that missing ?

Hi,
I would like to refer few customised video call solutions for your reference
1. mirrorfly
2. apphitect
3. cometchat
Hope these sites are helps to you!

Call record in rooted mode

Hi all
I'm new here so don't shoot me if I ask something soo stupid
I've been working on a project to capture the audio stream during a voice call on android.
I've successfully done all the rest of my application but then I ran into a problem:
there is no voice downlink during a phone call.
I've tried and tested every possibility that I could find on the internet and finally turned to using the root mode of my Phone.
The idea came to me when I found "AirVoice" (sorry being new here i can't post outside links :S) application that claims to be able to record both ends of a phone call + the comments on his website seem to confirm this.
I only rooted my phone yesterday following the great instructions of amon_ra (thanks a lot)
so I don't know what I can do and how to integrate it to my code.
I would like to know if there is a rooted access to the audio streams of a phone call?
Best regards
Jason

Sorry I can't offer help but I had a question about your app: can it record streaming audio or does it only record from the mic? I would like an app that can record off the Sirius stream / other streams.
Thanks,
Tony

[Q] Dictaphone / Dictation app

Ahoy!
I just started a job that requires me to dictate reports to be typed up.
I have searched the market, but can't really find anything suitable.
There are 2 essential features I am looking for;
1) the ability to rewind your recording
2) the ability to edit, (for example if i make a mistake dictating, rewind, then continue recording from the middle again.
I can't believ there is no app I can find that does this? Any help guys?
(Or is this a problem with digital recording in general??)
Thanks in advance.....
Hello.
Do you looking for just audio recording app or speech-to-text translator/editor?
Na, I don't need any voice to text functions. Just a straight audio recorder with the abilty to rewind a mistake and continue recording over it, you know like a 'tape' dictaphone?
............
I'm amazed there is no such thing as a Dictaphone app.

[Q] UMTS videocalling

With my three former phones (Motorola V980, V3xx, Sony Ericson X1) I have been able to to video calls over UMTS/3G. You know, that regular video-calling thing. Not with Skype, Google Talk, whatever. I thought this would be possible with the Sensation, why would it have two cameras otherwise (Yeah, there are other reasons, but still). I have however not been able to find out how to do it. And when initiating a video call to my sensation from another phone, it fails. So is this really a feature the Sensation is missing? Is there any reason? Any way to get that kind of video calling?
No chance for videocalling?
Afaik the video calling was not implemented in Android.
You have to use a video calling application like Skype or tango

NO way on our sensation, you have to ask directly to google to give us the libs and all stuff to make it working.

Skype video call on ChaCha?

Hello from germany -
is there any hack what implements the skype video call option to HTC ChaCha?
Thanks for your help...
Alex
hey there, I don't think there is a hack. You can try downloading Skype and see if the video call functionality is already working out of the box...
or you can also wait for the Skype to implement the functionality on our phone, if you check the Skype android app page, you can see which phones are already available for video calls.
Try this:

Try the link above you.
it s working normally without set up anything else
I cannot get it to work
Hi. I have a ChaCha running 2.3.5 with S-ON.
I checked the link posted previously, downloaded the app, but still no video settings in Skype settings. I'm sure the phone hardware is ok for video calling, because I can use Tango for video calls, but I will really like to use skype as well. Any help please?
Thanks.
Skype is not working on chacha because it require ARMv7 CPU.
Anyone tried this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.oovoo
Its cross platform and more importantly free.
Give it a try.

It's not compatible with the chacha..
Neither Skype nor Google Talk work with Video chat on the Chacha yet (although there is a "Video for Google Talk" app, but this does not work well.
I was able to install Yahoo Messenger with Video but I did not test it, since none of my friends used Yahoo Messenger and also this as always autostarting - so i deleted it. But I think Yahoo video talk should work.
I really don't understand why Google does not improve Google Talk. I like it more than Skype, but it's not clear why it doesn't even support voice talk on some phones.
I usually use Yahoo!

[Q] Native Video Calling on Nexus S

My Nexus s is now rooted for a while.
I have tried multiple Roms, but none of them seem to have the option of making Native Video calling.
I am able to do video calls only from 3rd party apps.
Since i get a good amount of free video calls from my service provider, i am unable to use it.
Please let me know if there exists a rom or app that allows me to make native video calls.
Have you tried Google Talk? That's a native app.

It is not Native video call
My mobile service provider is "BSNL" (like Vodafone or AT&T etc)
I am not able to do video phone calls to any other mobile.
Instead of a voice call, i want to do video calls using my mobile service provider - not through the internet - Gtalk, Skype etc etc.
Google Talk / skype etc etc - all apps - works through the internet connection
most android phones do not support UMTS/3G based video calls. even many handsets with front camera only support VOIP based video calls.
some samsung android sets support 3G video calls.
two of the android models from Spice support 3G video calls.

So you are saying that Native Video Call is not possible in the Nexus & most Android phones ( Rooted)
Thx.
