Hi all
I'm new here so don't shoot me if I ask something soo stupid
I've been working on a project to capture the audio stream during a voice call on android.
I've successfully done all the rest of my application but then I ran into a problem:
there is no voice downlink during a phone call.
I've tried and tested every possibility that I could find on the internet and finally turned to using the root mode of my Phone.
The idea came to me when I found "AirVoice" (sorry being new here i can't post outside links :S) application that claims to be able to record both ends of a phone call + the comments on his website seem to confirm this.
I only rooted my phone yesterday following the great instructions of amon_ra (thanks a lot)
so I don't know what I can do and how to integrate it to my code.
I would like to know if there is a rooted access to the audio streams of a phone call?
Best regards
Jason
anybody ? (apologies for the bump )

Sorry I can't offer help but I had a question about your app: can it record streaming audio or does it only record from the mic? I would like an app that can record off the Sirius stream / other streams.
Thanks,
Tony

Hello,
I'm looking for application that allows me to record my phone conversations directly in my device as audio files. Is there's something like this available for PocketPC? Currently I have the Cingular 8525 (with Pays' WM6.1 Rom).
Thanks,
Edit: Just wanted to add, there's no illegal reason for this. I have a music website and I need it to record phone interviews with bands and such type of things.
Although I cannot test it right now, back in the days I used WM2003 I used the notes application during a call to record the conversation. The application looks the same in WM6.1 as it did in WM2003 so I would think you could still use that. I am unsure of a PC application that can playback the files though. Hope this points you in a working direction.
Thanks,
I've used the notes app before. but the quality is not that good, and I believe it only records a few seconds. Also I think the call needed to be in speakerphone to record the other party. There should be something else out there that has better features.
Hi guys, anybody knows if there is a way or a mod to make the real video calling (not skype, tango, etc) the one like a phone call? THKS
+1
Hi,
I would be also very interested to be able to use video calls (not internet calls, but phone video calls).
Any solution ?
Thanks.
Google talk

Hi,
Thank you for your answer !!
The problem is that Google Talk only works calling someone who uses also google talk.
The video call solution that I search is the one which permits to call any phone having video call capability using the operator line (without using internet).
It seems that HTC doesn't implement this functionnality (at contrary of samsung on the SGS2 for example), but perhaps a creative developper has solved that missing ?
Hi,
I would like to refer few customised video call solutions for your reference
1. mirrorfly
2. apphitect
3. cometchat
Hope these sites are helps to you!
Hello from germany -
is there any hack what implements the skype video call option to HTC ChaCha?
Thanks for your help...
Alex
hey there, I don't think there is a hack. You can try downloading Skype and see if the video call functionality is already working out of the box...
or you can also wait for the Skype to implement the functionality on our phone, if you check the Skype android app page, you can see which phones are already available for video calls.

it s working normally without set up anything else
I cannot get it to work
Hi. I have a ChaCha running 2.3.5 with S-ON.
I checked the link posted previously, downloaded the app, but still no video settings in Skype settings. I'm sure the phone hardware is ok for video calling, because I can use Tango for video calls, but I will really like to use skype as well. Any help please?
Thanks.
Skype is not working on chacha because it require ARMv7 CPU.
Anyone tried this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.oovoo
Its cross platform and more importantly free.
Give it a try.

It's not compatible with the chacha..
Neither Skype nor Google Talk work with Video chat on the Chacha yet (although there is a "Video for Google Talk" app, but this does not work well.
I was able to install Yahoo Messenger with Video but I did not test it, since none of my friends used Yahoo Messenger and also this as always autostarting - so i deleted it. But I think Yahoo video talk should work.
I really don't understand why Google does not improve Google Talk. I like it more than Skype, but it's not clear why it doesn't even support voice talk on some phones.
I usually use Yahoo!
Blu Studio owners, please, share your experience about using some video chat apk with the device!
I've tried Skype (that is working only as voice call software, as you know), than Tango, Fring, ooVoo, Yahoo Messenger with video plug-in and others, without much success.
Now I have Fring installed, it sometimes works sometimes not, but it's far from being stable.
I also tried to install the Google Talk video chat version from here, XDA. My phone is rooted, so I could install it as system apk, it run but simply did not offered the voice and/or video call feature. So I put back the original, only written-chat Talk app.
Does anybody have more success with video chat on Studio 5.3?
(Certainly the normal mobile phone video call works well. That is why I think there should be some app that works with this processor and system.)
Thanks,
Tibor

As per the manual, the phone was only test for video telephony. Pure voice (CS or circuit switched) calls with video, not IP video "chatting" like Skype and the likes. Strange, but that's what it seems like.
I've seen in another thread on XDA that somebody could use QIK video chat with BLU Studio 5.3. (Freely downloadable from Play Store.)
I've installed it now. It's really working! It's not the best chat program since the free version is not compatible with any other chat apps (like Skype or Viber) but at least -- works. So, if you want to use free-of-charge video chat with this phone you should convince your family members and friends to also install QIK...
Hello.
Do you know any way to record incoming and outcoming call? I found a lot of apps to record by merge calling and record it as a stream, but all of them use external storage I think. I am looking for something to store records directly on my device.
Best Regards - Michal.
iPhone recording ? you do realise you're in an Android forum
Yes, but I am sure, that I am not only one, who use both systems, and I thought, that such a profesional comunity can give me some advice
Use Rev app its free and easy to use, though you may need to read the terms and conditions. Also be aware that it is illegal to some places to record someone without telling them.
