Skype is not available in the Android Market in China or Japan.

I downloaded it and installed it without problems I am able to login but after that no matter on what contact I click it shows Process com.skype.raider stopped unexpectedly ...

Now that Skype is available on the Android market, has anyone managed to extract the apk file (It is still not available in the market in all regions)

Anyone have an alternative download for Skype? Blocked in China so can't get it from the Marketplace or from Skype.com
Just replaced iPhone3 with DesireHD and lost Skype functionality - among other things. Still LOVE the DHD though

The new one works fine over phone's network. But still does not have front cam video support. I found a link to one that was supposed to work for the TB and have front cam support but it would not let me login. And it wasn’t an account issue as I can login fine on the one without front cam support....
Oh well....
And the list of contacts remains at the account?

There's been a new interesting app in Android Market - PackSMS. It allows to send and receive compressed SMS messages, which means longer message for the same price.
App works fine in GSM networks. It hasn't been tested in the CDMA network (like Verizon or Sprint) so far, so I'd like to kindly ask you for help verifying if it does or does not work there.
Could anyone who has phone in Verizon or Sprint network install free PackSMS Trial (QR code attached) from Android Market and test if it works?
Note: both sender and receiver have to install the app so that the other could receive compressed message (however you could just send a message to yourself).
I would also appreciate if anyone verified that longer messages are received correctly (say, 300 characters).

I really want to try your program. However, on my Droid X on Verizon, the Android Marketplace says that my device is not compatible. I tried the latest version 1.1, sending a direct link to marketplace.
So i can not even install it on my device!
Can we get around this?
P.S. I would even accept an "offline mode" that forced me to copy/paste encoded SMS messages into the applications. The carrier savings for my international SMS would make this labor worth it.

I'm having a serious problem. I sent a SMS to a good friend this afternoon, and he got an altered version of it.
When I look in my Sent SMS folder, I see what I typed. When looking in his Received SMS folder, we see a modified version of what I sent him.
Before my original SMS we can now read this "I bought a segway, and am being drunk, sorry" (in French)
Then come my original SMS.
He use a Palm Pre2, and I have a Sony Ericsson Neo, with the latest official firmware, and root access. I didn't unlock my bootloader.
Recently, I installed "Set DNS" to solve the Google Market's unbearable slowness.
Do you have an idea about the cause of this problem?
Should I flash my phone back to original firmware?
Could Set DNS intercept my SMS and modify them?

Problem solved, it is a bug from my friend's Pre2, he has got some of his messages mixed together. The text that have been added to my message is coming from someone else's message.
Thanks anyway, perhaps this post can help a future victim of this bug
In what way was it altered? Can you post the before and after messages (French is fine for comparason purposes)?
I know that some carriers have SMS Signature features that can be set up via their website/account admin tools, is it possible that that's what you're experiencing?

Hi guys Just got a new Oppo Reno Ace Gundam edition, Everything runs smooth and great with couple teaks. From keyboard, and uninstalling bloatware from t his phone. However as Title states, I'm unable to get group messages in the original Message app. When I found this out I tried to download and install different SMS apps such : Gmessage, Facebook SMS, smsGO. This Apps have install with no issues and when setting them up I select the app as for to be the default application for SMS. Once i get A text i get a message explaining that the original Message app will be enable. I tried different ways to get rid of this application using "conventional ways" ( no root or hardcore modification, since im not experience) but with no luck.
Has anybody experienced this, And if you are able to get group messages lemme know!

Hey i got the same problem vut it isnt just with the message app. Also the systhem launcher and assistent app is unable to be changed
You can uninstall these by using adb and install another app. But i dont want to try this with mine.
