My contacts backup wont work

need a apk or something for my contacts backup. I updated my friends phone ad he had all his contacts uploaded to uscc site but not gmail. and when I send the link from uscc.com for it says the phones not supported he's got a mesmerize

Did you by chance export your contacts to sd?
Otherwise the apk is in phidelts pnp rom extras

ive had the same issues with certain ROMS...i do want to find a better way to back up my contacts, and be able to restore them at a later time. ive had all sorts of weird stuff happen # unrecognized device on uscc "my contacts backup"
my latest foible was, being hailed as a genius "which im not" <--kills lots of braincells...often.
while working on a friends phone i asked him if he backed up his contacts, answer was "yes" so i proceeded with odin from stock to ec10 h57+theme. but i had to go back and get to stock ec10 for my contacts backup to work (blah) i even swapped out .apk from ec10 pnp before hand.. so needless to say i did a lot of back peddling when i had to reboot the handset a zillion times.(ever wanted to headlock someone) heh.
this is not a *****y/whinny rant...its challenging to do this sort of stuff, thats why i love it so much...i mean ive held this handset closer than my g/f for christsakes! but not ina sexual way.

heh yeah man sounds about right...good thing i have two hands otherwise id be phucked.
trust me though, if there was an easier method other than trial and error i would be heading in that direction in a heartbeat

Easy root for Thunderbolt on Windows

Yestarday I wrote a Mac OS X Easy root with a video
However I had someone e-mail me asking for a Windows Version.
I will write one if I get 5 likes on this video by the end of day and as soon as I get at least 5 likes I will start writing it and have it done within a couple hours! I just want to make sure people are really interested in it before I start.

Got at least ten more days before I root my TB. Don't want to do it until I'm outside my exchange period, in case any mechanical glitches show up, like a stuck power button or some such.
Edit - Yeesh, didn't realize the download was nearly 900MB.

I agree with you we shouldn't even have to root the phone in the first place that's why I did this stuff.

settings "usb debugging" needs to be enabled

On first power button press I get "sd checking" "No image or wrong image"

ok I have my phone set up and every time I power it down and power it up the wall paper is different. its some wood grain looking thing. and not the live wallpaper I have it set to. also I plugged it into the laptop and it tells me the phone doesnt support kies? I tried to get pics from my laptop to my phone. I didnt think I would have to email the pic to myself to get it on the phone. is there something wrong with the phone?

Download the drivers for your phone again, then connect phone as mass storage, then you can copy and paste what ever you want

thanks but att said I have 30 days and if the screen is all messed up and I have to go to my settings everytime and change my wallpaper every time I power my phone on its not worth it, I will go back to my blackberry or an iphone I had no idea I would have to set my wall paper with every power on.

WTF...something is messed up if your wallpaper is not keeping but AT&T which is probable some knuckle head that has no clue to begin with has told you that is the way the phone is...?, did you go into the store or online or phone...?
That is not normal to have to reset your wall paper when ever you boot up...think about it...that doesn't sound right....right? And giving up and going to the bb or icrap.....well that is your choice, maybe those phones are better for you....
Good Luck, and if you want to give it a try and fix your demon wallpaper changer...there are lots of guru's in this forum...not me just a follower for now...

This is a good phone and the wonderful people here can get you through this, just do some reading. A phone is a tool and going back to a bb is like comparing a laser to a butter knife. Your choice, just my opinion

I understand what you guys are saying, but I work for the railroad and I am only off for 6 hours a day, I dont have time to search and that is why I asked, I have been reading threads and I have not found why the wallpaper is set to something that is not even an option to pick. I am currently using a live wallpaper its small squares that change color and move,when I power up there is a wood grain wallpaper and its not even a option in the wallpapers.

move your live walpaper to phone instead of sd and that will fix your problem

Sd card problem...

Does anyone else have the issue of the sd card not staying in very well? It doesn't actually click in. The cover kinda holds in down but not very well... mine just popped out =/

You need to push the sd card in until it clicks into place, will go down a little way as its spring loaded and then click into position. I tend to use something to push the sd card in as its a pain to do it without fingernails... Same way to release it...

It is possible the catch that is supposed to kick in and hold the sd card in may be broken, I have seen and experienced this before on other devices. That would be a warranty job.
Before taking back though I'd either try a new sd card, if you have 1, or test the current one out in another device - must be spring loaded like the note 10.1.... That rules out Samsung telling you there's nothing wrong and potentially charging you for the service. Also removes the sd card from the culprit list...

[Q] Please help, assaulted while recording

There was this guy vandalizing some stuff in my street. I told him to stop while recording video of the event. He forced me on the ground bruising my neck and damaging my teeth, let me go when I promised to delete the video. How can I recover the video? Any help is very much appreciated.

You wouldn't happen to have your photos/videos back up to Google do you? That's terrible that happened to you I'm sorry.

I did, but they said there's nothing they can do without actually capturing his ass. Thanks for being angry together with me, it helps a lot.

I'm not sure it'd work for you but you could try downloading Dumpster from Google play. The only thing is idk if it recovers deleted files or it recovers files deleted after the app is installed.

I'm going to go to sleep now, it's 06:30 am over here. If your want to help catch this bastard, reply to this thread with a way to recover deleted videos from a Nexus 5.
I'm sure he was just a dumb kid, as he let me go after deleting the video + some dumb tutorials i shot. I think it would be the best thing to let him know not to do stuff like this again.

The first thing to do would be to STOP USING THE PHONE. The more you use it, the higher the chance of the data being overwritten and thus unrecoverable. Remember, "deleting" something only marks it as available on the disk/flash memory.

As above, if you carry on using the phone there's a chance you might write over the deleted file, any chance of recovery then becomes much more difficult, maybe even impossible. Try some of the software that's been mentioned above, if the files not been overwritten you should have a good chance of recovery.

correct as the past few posts say if you havnt overwritten that area of your internal storage where the video was saved you should no problem using some recovery tools to get the deleted information. I work as a security analyst doing forensics and e-discovery. I recommend the program r-studio to recovery deleted information. you will have to pay for it unless you can find a free copy on the internet.. lol but you can also get a trial of it which will let you recovery files smaller than like 1mb which might not help you but you can at least use the trial to determine if the video is recoverable.

You can also use diskdigger. The free version should do what you need it to

Thank all of you for your help. I tried several tools, with varying results.
Sadly I can't seem to get anything watchable back. I got a couple of bruises and my jaw still kinda hurts, but it's nothing permanent.
I got an app that can undo removal of photos and videos for the next time something like this happens, also I should be more carefull not to put myself in harms way again. People are unpredictable.
