Hey XDA, these companies have made huge names for themselves in the Mobile Accersory business. They make great quality products. Who is waiting fo the Mugen Extended Battery and the Otterbox Defender?
isnt the mugen battery already out for the sensation?
I noticed that otterbox hardly ever make a defender case for tmobile Phones hopefully I'm wrong

I did see the Mugen... oops but otterbox comes with lifetime warranty

i've been checking otterbox's page everyday waiting for them to sell the case. i currently have a clear silicone case i bought off amazon for like 5.99. i had an otterbox on my nexus one and loved it. imo its one of the better looking cases anyone makes and its tough.
Otterbox is only making a Commuter case for the Sensation I believe.
Well I would buy either, really want a defender though

Lots of Sensation owners have already got a Chichitec or Anker extended battery. As a matter of fact I'm getting ready to purchase one. I just stopped by here first just to do some last minute reading to help me decide which to buy. Now wondering if I should hold off and wait on the Mugen battery.
I have heard good about anker but mugen gets nothing but good reviews

It's hard to tell by the pictures, but does the OtterBox case make the Inspire super bulky? Also, does the screen protector work if you already have a screen protector on your phone?
Thanks

My mom has one on her Inspire and it doesn't make it super bulky...a bit more than it is but not a lot.
Ordered my case last night since I picked up a red Inspire recently.
its a very good case just breaks from pulling in and out of pocket. the plastic along the volume and sleep button has broken on 2 of my commuters. i think im going to go to the defender.
My Defender is about 3 months old and still nearly as good as new.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using the power of the dark side
I only have my Inspire because I dropped my Aria on cement, and it got a nasty crack across the screen. Soon as I got my Inspire I bought the Otterbox Commuter and while I only dropped it once or twice my phone is still in a "brand new" state. Whereas the case itself has maybe a few scruffs on it. It also fits perfectly in my pocket, its not bulky or heavy compared to other cases. Only "issue" I've had was when taking the cover off to pull the battery (if the phone decides to go into a boot loop). It feels like I'm gonna break the case, but it always survived. =P
Definitively money well spent. IMO
The Commuter is a nice case, but it starts cracking after a while because of the hard plastic. I recommend you get the Casemate Tough, it's better build quality with the same level of protection.
I love my case....the hard shell in a little too slick tho
Looks like Seidio and Otterbox will both be releasing protection for our Sensation 4G devices real soon. IMO, Seidio provides a better product than Otterbox. I've used both, and Seidio to me just seems more stylish for the protection (I'll be buying the Active combo).
http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/6207.htm
Is there an eta on these? I also was the active combo.

Pretty sure that by the end of this month there will be something... well that's what I hope for.
I'll be going with SURFACE, not that bulky.
They usually have something ready for purchase within a couple of weeks after putting up the "coming soon" spot.
glad to see these companies finally take notice to this device. ill be picking up the otterbox. had one for my nexus and liked it a lot. normally i dont have a handset long enough for some of these companies to put out a quality case (besides the generic gel ones)
I considered otter, but need a holster for work.

I also prefer Seidio...
Been waiting for Seidio...hope to see something real soon
I had seidio on my nexus one and liked it alot since it was the case and the holder. Am curious about otterbox but don't want anything too bulky.
Will probably just stick with seidio since I used them before.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
I got the Gelli case from Case Mate and love it. I was worried about it feeling cheap but it's not at all - it's very firm and streamlined and looks nice without adding bulk. It also covers the volume rocker and power buttons which is good cause the crooked power button was really annoying me; it makes it feel more solid.
I've used Seidio for a few years now. I like their products but build quality doesn't look as good as Otterbox. Otterbox makes bulkier cases that are more expensive. Seidio is a step up from ebay generic junk. The only reason I haven't bought anything from Otterbox is that I usually have to take my phones out of their cases to use car docks (HTC OEM docks) and that takes too long with Otterbox.
i hope they built a good case this time because the case they built for the mytouch 4g was horrible!
I love Seidio's InnoCases with their awesome spring-clip belt clip. Can't wait.

Weird the black Active cases aren't ready yet, but the other colored ones are.
Just ordered the Sapphire Blue Active Combo with the 15% discount. I really want the Trident Aegis but the holster seals the deal cuz I hate stuff (except money) in my pockets.
All cases are now live fellas! Dont forget the summer11 code for 15%. Black Active combo...here I come!
and no TPU in the case.
The picture is up on the website fellas if you want to take a sneak peek. It looks like it won't be a squeaky version like the one for the MT4G since its a slider install. It should be available soon.
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bd2-hr3htsen-bk.htm
I might wait for the Active combo myself.
Edit: The Active Combo is now up also!
They are covering the holes...
That's an expensive case!
Wow...$50 + shipping cost is a little expensive for me. I guess since it is a case+belt holster...
Yep the Surface&holster is pricey, but it has the kind of full protection I was looking for!
I just emailed seidio regarding both the active and surface case they are planning to release for the sensation soon since pictures are available. asked about how come only one of the 5 holes is uncovered and if the other holes being covered will affect performance. since according to htc the holes have a specific purpose. hopefully i will get back a sufficient answer and not some generic response.
but i am a little concerned to be spending all this money for a seidio case and 80% of the holes are covered and now I have a $8.95 TPU case and 0% of the holes are covered. does anyone else see something wrong with this picture?
also checked out otterbox website and they are releasing a commuter case for the sensation soon and they have the same setup with the same one uncovered hole above the camera. i guess maybe both seidio and otterbox know something about those holes that we don't know.
I am using the active x case and holster. Dropped twice with 0 damage to the phone.

I agree. I think we are concerned because only 1 of the 5 holes are cut out for the device. We don't question the quality and protection but we are concerned about the holes. I too have a $3.99 TPU case with all the cutouts, I wonder if the Seidio will affect reception.
Edit: The Active Combo is now up also!
Ah yes forgot to mention, I have a Samsung captivate. Got this case because I can holster it with headphones plugged in. And I can adjust volume as well.
Sent from the miui matrix SGH-i897
The Otterbox case pictures also covers up all the holes except 1.
I think they're using the molds from the European version of the Sensation, since those don't have as many holes as the USA version of Sensation.
My o2 UK sensation has 2 holes near cam, 1 near speaker and 2 at the bottom.
I bought a case mate and it covered all holes and I think it did affect reception

I'm upgrading to an Inspire soon and I was wondering if I should get a silicone case or a plastic case. I didn't have a case on my Aria (which I'm using right now) and the screen is shattered so I decided to buy a case. So which case is better? Which can protect the phone better and which one would you prefer (as Inspire users) looks better? Thanks

It does add some bulk. That's why I like the commuter. It doesn't have as much protection, but it also doesn't have too much bulk. It kind of meets in the middle.

i highly recommend anything made by otterbox, everything they have gives great protection to your phone, believe me, ive dropped my phone too many times and so far nothing bad or drastic has occured.
Been using the Platinum series from best buy since the phone was released. If I'm not mistaken, it's the same as the surface combo by Seidio. Dropped it a couple of times, no damage. Screen is covered by the holster.
I personally use the qmadix case that i got from my work, and its been great coupled with my invisi-shield screen protector.
Case mate pop I have the commuter, but prefer the case mate pop
Seidio CONVERT Combo for HTC Inspire 4G
Its makes the phone huge but i drive alot and I made a clip holder in truck to use navi and music. It has 3 Layers plus the clip. I payed $50 and now it like $35 at bestbuy.
I need a really thin case. What do you guys recommend?
Posted with my model confused HTC Inspire via XDA premium.
Otterbox Defender all the way is my choice. Does make phone a little bulky but as clumsy as I am I dropped it already 3 times and as pricey as this phone is I dont care about outside looks I care about protection for it.
Otterbox all the way. I have the commuter and my first one got a crack From a nasty drop I sent one email to them and they responded immediately and within a day they had gotten me a replacement case shipped out. They have some of the best customer care I've ever seen, not to mention the case most definitely has saved my phone on a number of occasions.
Sent through the power of Cthulhu!
Otterbox commuter case is good, not too big either. The defender has more protection but it is big and bulky.
A TPU case is what I use.
The platinum case from bestbuy is only 29.99 and it does not hinder the GPS signal strength. Cases that cover the area between the flash and speaker weaken GPS signal cause the GPS radio is placed there.

I am using Moshi cover case for Inspire 4 g which is very useful. It was made for HD7 but it fits with inspire.
I use an Otterbox Defender and it saved my phone once after a drop. They are a bit more money, however you can get a decent price on Amazon. Had a speck when I first bought the phone. It broke 3 weeks later just putting it in and out of my pocket.
Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using XDA App
I'm using the Seidio Surface case for mine and I do like it. I've had a few drops onto hardwood floor and concrete slab in the garage and it has protected it great so far. However, with the price of the otterbox down from what I remember seeing it back when I first got my phone it might be well worth it to get that one, as it's not much more than the Seidio now.
Otter box defender...hands down. My Co worker's husband was so impressed with mine, he had me order him one for his Vivid.
Bought it from newegg hellafied cheaper than the otterbox site.

That was my first case but took the belt clip off because it was way too bulky. Also the initial batches marred the back of the case where it would leave indentions over the openings like the camera and speaker. At first it looked like it was scratched but eventually the "dents" came out. I haven't tried the new batches that have come out though. I hope they work! I did actually like the case feel without the belt clip but I now I prefer my Seidio Active Kickstand one though.
Just retired my bodyglove kick/case (new batch had no scratch issues) because it is just too bulky & too heavy!
Is there a way to tell the old batch from the new ones?
