Battery life with exchange... Are anyone who gets these 20 hour batter life times on an exchange server and gmail?
I get almost 14, better than stock as acid has improved life.
I'm doing another calibration now to try and be exact on the recharge.
Facebook isn't syncing si the only culprit I see is exchange.

Yeah when I took exchange email off my battery life improved drastically.. even after changing sync settings it wasn't enough help
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Isn't exchange always syncing?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
No u can change it from push all the way to sync every 4 hours or more
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Well then that's my problem... I need it on sync all the time!
Ok seems 12 hours on a freshly calibrated battery, meaning this morning 12 hours ago i wiped the battery stats clean. This is 5 hours MORE than when i had it stock. This is 3 hours more when i got Kd1 Stock thru kies mini.
On redux V1 i did get 17 hours...so not really worried here.
I used it all day for work...not bad. I have no way to stop exchange...i need it.
I will report back tomorrow!
I'm on REDUX V1.1
set cpu "conservative"

Did anyone else have horrible battery life running the Miui ROM??
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Mine is pretty much the same as ec10.

I unplugged it from 100% charged..used it for 5 mins and it drained to 90%..anyway to fix this??
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Try wiping battery stats in clockwork, and do a power cycle.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
It's well documented that some people have bad battery life in miui.
I would suggest wiping absolutely everything, and make sure you have the battery charged fully when you flash it. (i know that sounds like voodoo magic BS, but it worked for me, and supposedly it has for other people as well)
I guess I'm just special, I flashed with like half battery and just wiped cache and data.

Same here...im getting almost 12 hours if mild moderate use...then I'm around 25%
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
I was very lucky to get three hours but I would say that was relatively heavy use. In the end I decided to go to the AOSP rom. It seems now like my battery never wants to charge all the way and every time I reboot the battery stats are way different, going to have to figure that out soon or go back to ec10.

The newest miui rom has a overclock on the processor, you could find a kernel that undervolts for better life.
The peanut butter jelly aosp kernel has a 100 uv that I've been running, after a couple days to let the phone get used to the new firmware it is working great and good battery life

Post a screen shot of how long you've been unplugged plus the rom your using. This screen shot I took was on firefly 2.9 with speedmod kernal
Edit- for some reason my screen shot is coming pit blurry when uploaded but it shows 21 hours unplugged

i couldnt get a screenshot but i went 60 hours on my extended battery and had 8% left!!!
2 1/2 days!!!
-properly undervolted, no kenel tweaks except readahead and bln, removed redundant/extra scripts from INIT.D folder,
-full tibu userapp+data backup every night at 3am

This is cheating a bit, since I have been near my computer enough to just check email there everyday, and I had wifi and data turned off most of the time. But I took a few calls, uploaded some files, checked GPS, etc. enough to consider this to be legitimate use for me.
Anyway, here's my screen shot - running Serendipity 6.4, Onix 2.0.1 kernel (working so well, why move to 2.0.5), and JQ1 modem. I really only kept the phone on at night so I could get a nice screen cap like this.
Edit: Standard battery that came with the phone.
heres a new one...
Nice... it would be more useful to include the amount of time spent on Display and such.

My battery lasts around 8 hours a day. I listen to Pandora for about an hour, browse web apps, and have several email accounts so not really a surprise.
I am running Firefly 3.0 with lag fix enabled and battery mod enabled which has given me about an extra hour a day over stock.

It's not actually called battery mod, basically it's in cwm. You go in to the settings and before you get to lag fix there is a battery fix that you can apply. Should have explained that better at first, still learning terms and such.

I need help my battery life is terrible and I don't know how to fix. I have a battery information app and the battery chart drops.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
We're going to need more information than that to help you out.
ROM?
Kernel?
Name of "Battery Monitoring" App?
Current Data use?
Signal strength in your area?
All of these will be very helpful in figuring out what your issue is.
Try to be patient, I'm a little new. But here's what I know.
Froyo 2.2
Kernel 2.6.32.9
Battery Monitor Widget App
Data usage isn't high.
I don't know how to find ROM
My display takes 93% but my brightness is all the way down and my signal is always pretty strong.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
Im guessing your one the stock at&t froyo. Think about going into the captivate android development section and flash a custom rom. They seem to provide better battery life and are much better than what came with this phone.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
You can also disable wifi, bluetooth, and GPS when not in use - that should help.
In my experience the fastest way to better battery life is flash a new kernel. speedmod-kernel-i897-k13e is very stable. Also turn off auto-rotate and auto brightness.
A big battery killer for me is background data and auto sync, I leave it all off, along with the stuff every one else said.
Also, try calibrating your battery.
The only thing I've done to my phone is root. And I've turned off all the auto stuff, I have no idea how to "flash the rom" or anything else.

If your display takes up 93% of battery that's usually a good sign, it means that there's probably nothing in the background sucking up all the juice. Have you tried "bump charging" or replacing the battery? They do tend to go bad or lose calibration if you've overheated them one too many times.
Whenever I charge my phone it seems to get extremely hot. The battery app said like 115° to 120°

Try Juice Defender in the Android Market, made a big different for me.
In my experience Froyo roms have all been garbage battery life *first leak, stock, Perception, Cognition, SuperNova, Phoenix Unleashed* I could never get more then 10 hours on the battery and less with wifi on. Now with GB *perception 2 beta 3*, I get 18 hours with Bluetooth on, Background Sync On, under H *3G*, and the original battery that came with the phone. I am putting up with some of the issues that 2.3.3 has but to me I cannot go back to froyo as my battery life has never been this good Including with jf6 2.1 that originally shipped with my phone.
HTH,
Charlie
I put it on the charger. Only went up to 35c (95f)

While that may be the case, it doesn't always provide for the best signal. You have to test each one and see what works best for your area/situation.
Your battery temp seems very high. You may want to swap the battery before trying other things. Is the phone new? If so, At&t store should agree to swap it out for you.

I am using a stock battery on my G2x and am debating purchasing a new one on Amazon. This is my last reading from 100 to 0 percent : (attached files)
Are the results good or should I purchase a new battery? And if so, which one? No batteries that require a bigger back door please, thanks!
Also, I am running 4.0.4

I can pull a little more than that if I'm not fighting for signal...
Do you use anything like Juice Defender? Or maybe a similar function within the ROM?
I'd try stuff like that before purchasing a battery. But... it's always nice to have a spare.
Actually I see that your screen display is taking up the most battery so just lower the brightness of your phone and you will see results.
Thanks for the reply! I use a battery saving app... forgot the name of it. I know the app icon is an Android.
The screen was hogging up the battery because I was using my phone a lot. Games and browsing.
Thanks for the feedback.

Three hours of on screen time and 7 hours total is normal in my experiances with ics!
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
It appears as though your phone never went to sleep?
Were you using the phone the ENTIRE time? Cause with only 3 hours of screen time and 7 hours of uptime, then why was the phone not sleeping at least a little bit in the extra 4 hours there?
16 hrs on HFP CM7.2 still 57 percent left.

click on the screen tab and post that screenshot also. Thanks
i got almost 3.5 days when i changed over to EB 4.0.4 with some texting, a few calls, a couple hours of reddit, and lots of mp3 playing. so far with having the g2x i have found that using auto with the screen and keeping wifi off will give alot of battery life no matter what with custom roms.
i am also using the anticipatory scheduler so it jumps around and a bit of undervolting.
Update to my last post. I had to reboot in the morning, so add like 20 more minutes to screen time for accuracy. I am pleased considering all the gaming and browsing. Definitely worth the extra bulk. Reliability before phone aesthetics.

I take it you haven't been turning the screen on very often? In my experience, the screen on the sidekick is by far the hungriest part. It's to the point where I bought a Sony Liveview in the hope of reducing the amount of time the screen had to be on. That backfired when I discovered that the Liveview was a total piece of crap, and was itself only capable of 45 minutes of battery life...
Screen been on for about 5 min overall the time

The screen on any given device will be the most battery consuming part. However, I also did this test (to power drain) before shipping it off to bhundven and I got about 8 days.
