NINJA 716 ROM: One Question! - HTC Inspire 4G

2-way call recording doesn't work! WTF?

I know it's not a question. NINJA is a great ROM, fast and slick but I need the recording feature. If I flash a new KERNEL, will it fix the problem? Now, there's a question.

What's with the forum restrictions on posting to the development if you have less than 10 posts? Often, noobs have questions regarding roms, and have no recourse but to BS in another area of the forum to fill the quota. It's stupid.

This is my 9th post. Hooray!

This is my 10th post, Double Hooray! Now we can all hands in a circle and sing kumbaya.

James, that is what the Q&A section is for! No need to clog up development threads with this stuff, ya know? Your statement answers your question. Learn to use search... It's your friend!

+1 10 chars.
That's Incase you didn't get it, yes a new kernel will fix your problem. Adamholden85 does not include that kernel in the rom for a few reasons. Its also a user preference kind of thing. If you search the rom thread, you'll be able to get the whole answer. And the 10 post this is to keep people from posting every 2 second thinking someone is right there to answer them. That's why your first 10-15 posts have a 5 minute waiting period between them.

Yes...search search search. That is one thing you need to learn how to do very quickly here on xda. Your question, majority of the time, has been asked before. Probably by us at one point.

Forum newbie rules!

I have in the last few months purchased a htc desire to replace my motorola dext (cliq).
With my previous phone I have plenty of modding experience (if anyone knows anything about the cliq they'll understand)
But due to the rules here I am unable to offer my advice and knowledge wih rom issues, of which there have been a few with desire roms.
If any mods read this, can you please remove the restrictions in place on my account, so I can participate actively in the htc desire development section, and be able to help out fellow modders.
Regards
Ryan

Running in to the same issue with Xoom.
I've been working on this for over a year but I can't post cuzz of the newb rulls.
As far as I'm concerned we're all here to learn from others and let others learn from ourselves.
This is the only android forum I've come across with this ridiculous rule in place, restricting the sharing of knowledge because I'm deemed too " inexperienced".
Just because I'm new too XDA obviously means I'm new too android as well. Its a joke.

Guys, it is so easy just post 10 postings (you can do that in an hour) and all restrictions are removed. It is easy as saying in a posting "i agree" or " wow, interesting" do 10 pointless postings and you are good to go
Thanks for the advice, but its not really the point.

Don't make pointless and meaningless posts outside of Off-Topic.
Also, try to contribute
I am in the same boat wanted to post but I guess Ill need 9 more
interesting
interesting ;-)
the only posting limit before 10 posts is development areas. (about 1/6 of the forums)
if you are a developer, use you vast knowledge to help 10 people
if you have a question about something in development ask your question in Q&A
but search first. it is better to reply to a pre-existing thread than to start a new one!
(this thread case in point)
there is no reason to complain or spam post " i agree "
Interesting! (sorry, needed 1 more)

That rather highlights the foolishness of having a 10-post restriction. Just about anyone will look at this and go, okay, let's just post 10 worthless messages and get around the restriction. In the end it does nothing to promote a better quality of user while at the same time clogging up the general forums with messages that are a complete waste of time and disk space. Like this one.
10 post restriction
I agree totally!
9 more to go!
And now theres people wanting to change off-topic to also having the 10 post restriction? I dont get it

You have got to be kidding me...NO MIUI??

So after years of being an xda user and lover, I must say...the banning of all MIUI roms on this forum is completely ridiculous to me. Not to mention, done in bad taste. I am very curious as to why this happened. Can anyone please enlighten me as to why one of the best, most desired roms is not supported here? I can find nothing in rules about this at all. Thank you and I look forward to your answers.

They aren't banning miui. The user at modaco who did the sensation rom is banned from xda. So his work is not allowed on xda.
It doesn't mean miui is banned...

we're not supposed to discuss bans/infraction publicly in the community. And to answer your question, i have no idea, and it should just be left between the dev and the mods (and those who know).
There is an MIUI ROM, it's on MoDaCo, we're not allowed to post his work here due to him being banned. Go look at MoDaCo for it. MIUI is not banned on xda.
Short and simple answer
remember... Google all your questions! Like why someone would be bannned...
This the dumbest topic I've seen in a while. And post questions in the q n a.

After clearly stating my question, yes, accidentally in the wrong forum, I must say that you are not helping in xda if all you do is call people idiots, when the response doesn't fit the question. After doing searches as to why this rom would be banned in here, I politely asked a question. And usually by asking a question...you are looking for an answer...not some smart ass cocky response like you know it all. Next time you hear a question that you know the answer to, why not kindly answer...or shut your mouth and move on. You're a big guy by thinking you pwn'd someone online by throwing digital insults at them. Grow up, guys. Xda is supposed to be a place of help...and people like you make it a terrible forum for asking questions. So get off your high horses and offer help, not B.S.
Btw, thank you to all of the guys that actually answered my question.
Way to jump the gun...and as said, MIUI is not banned from xda.

You can't really blame them as they've put up with people who thought they were too good for the rules for so damn long. We'll ignore the fact that when you first show up in the Infuse forums, there's a forum labeled Q&A. Common sense would dictate that maybe questions should go there.
So you already showed a lack of common sense by skipping over a forum plainly labeled Q&A for all the world to see. After running blindly past that forum you ended up here in the development section. I mean yeah you really shouldn't be tossing random questions here but I could see how it could confuse you, here you see TWO CM7 threads, wow you hit the jackpot!
But once again instead of taking a minute to check those posts out, instead of using the handy dandy search tool up there ^ and instead of at least posting in one of the other CM7 related threads, you decided to say **** IT to common sense and created a brand new thread for your question.
You aren't special, the question has been asked and answered elsewhere, go forth and find the answer you seek.

i mean cmon dude. its a question. if you connect the dots, it can easliy lead you to the Q&A... i do not see one bit of android development here... development of flaming is freaking blossoming though.

our devs who left left for a better phone with better software support that isn't held back by that carrier since it can have software ported from the international version but they each may build one last rom when att drops gb, mikey is still answering in his thread and he and gtg both indicated that they may give it one last shot when the official gb drops. also entropy is still here, though he also got a gs2.

dude it's the internet, dont be so sensitive. oh and ask a mod to move this to Q&A never mind just ask it to be closed. when you get to Q&A you will se that there is a cm7 Q&A thread already there, plus closing this will stop the flaming.
what was that question again? it got lost in the flaming and belligerent defense of ignorance. a lot of us when we are newbs do something against the rules and get our peepee spanked for it. you are not unique. defending yourself sounds a bit like "hey i dont know the rules even though they are stickied in multiple forums in bold letters, why should i have to follow rules i dont know?" sorry to be a **** but this is the internet and that's how it is.
Slow down guys--if you think the thread doesn't belong in a certain area, simply report it.
Anyhow, moved to the appropriate section.

Install on top of old roms

Can I just install new roms, kernels over or on top of whatever is currently on my sd card.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
You go into recovery and find where it says wipe/format all partitions (except sd). You could download the superwipe zip. Should be in the sensation android development forum and its posted all over the place. You gotta know how to find it by now. I would post a link but I'm doing this from my phone. hope this can help you out a little bit more on your path to learning how to use android. I got a little testy with you and I'm sorry. Ask as many questions as you need to ask. Its best to wipe unless the developer says you don't have to. Just delete the old rom file off the SD card.
It's alright Um not trying to make a lot of posts.I just competely new to all this.I have a qwestion that I'm embarrassed to ask where is the thank you button at for U can thank all of you.and.thanks for the information.

In the xda app thanks button is found by lightly pressing and hold on post, then a menu comes up with thanks button right there. Hope this helps!

Seriously? The Q and A forum is being ruined by questions? The guy's trying to learn, and he's anxious to do so. Sure, many of his questions have been answered before - but have you tried XDA's search? It's awful, especially if you're new and don't know certain terms yet like super-cid or AOKP/AOSP.

Second time I've had to interfere with this thread. Consider this a warning. If I have to interfere again I will lock and start handing out infractions. Remember it is your job (as someone that wants/needs something to search using Google or XDA search. Search isn't perfect but from endless amount of post/threads it seriously lowers the amount of pages you need to read. THAT leads me to the second point not only do you NEED to search you HAVE read. As a community it is ALL our responsibility to help out when ever we can. That goes from answering questions or pointing to the right direction or as simply as hitting the report button.
