So i was thinking it might look really clean to be able to erase the app name under the icons and just have icons.... Maybe we can get a developer to work on this? Anyone else like this idea?
I think GOlauncher gives you that option.

Try Launcher Pro, there is an option there too.

You can do it for the homescreen icons with an app like Desktop Visualizer but doing it that way for ALL homescreen icons is a PITA too.
Adw ex does it.

Sense is not customizable, launchers are. If customizing and changing settings is a pia... well that's what the i*hone is for right ;-)
I recommend adw. You can make it look identical to sense if you like the look, and it has that option.

my rosie is modded to the t. transparent app drawer, my name on all apps bar, cyan text color. its not easy but possible. to remove the names under the apps you just change the text color value to #00000000. full transparency. you need a knowledge of apktool and decompiling and compiling

Did I add you have to be really smart?
Just saying sense is customizable. Once you know it it really doesn't take that much time or effort. The phone is designed to run sense. It just makes sense

I never said it wasn't customizable, but the OP doesn't want to have to do anything that is a "pita" and/or takes too much time.

All he did was ask if it could be done and if others would be interested. He likes the stock look of Sense and probably being able to use Sense widgets, which cannot be done with ADW or LP. Calm down there big boy, take some deep breaths, everything will be ok.

No, you are definitely not sol. Just use "better cut" or "desktop visualizer" and delete the names of the apps on your homescreens. Very simple and can be done in under 5 min.
Hi quick question is it possible for these phones to use vanilla or sense roms? and if so would someone be willing to make one Froyo or GB?
because personally I hate T-wiz and I use ADW with every rom so far but I would love to have a vanilla ROM I know Sense is HTC just dont know if these things are even possible
hey! this topic has been addressed a lot of times and other threads discuss this.
basically, its very difficult to port over sense because it is completely different than tw. its not really worth the dev's time in some cases, but there are other options, like themes for launchers that are nice. beautiful widgets is nice for the clock and since you like adw, you can get a theme, or look into go launcher. that is a very flexible launcher.

ok but what about Vanilla? and if this is posted somewhere else i havent seen it sorry about that. I have Fancy Pro with ADW ex (Also have Launcher Pro just dont like it as much so I dont install it) and I am able to make it look stock but would just prefer stock rather than having 2+ launchers
If you don't like the launchers, flash to icbinb. And get the theme. It had a cool launcher that I think you will like. try out zeam launcher as well if you get a chance. It's very minimalistic and works great. You can delete tw completely once you get another launcher.

Is there any way someone can port touchwiz 4.0 from the T-Mobile galaxy s 2 to work with our kj6 roms? (Valahalla, octane v3, etc). I know about touchwiz 4.5 but its very unstable on my phone for some reason and its app sorting in the app drawer does not work. I love how smooth tw4 is compared to others like launcher pro and adw and I just think it looks soo much better. I appreciate it if anyone can help. I'm sure other memebers would like this as well. Thanks!

Heres the post that he got the zip from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158266
Follow the instructions and it will work.
Furthermore, I'm running Valhalla- it comes with this launcher, the modified touchwiz 4, on there. You do not need this for valhalla.

That's tw4.5 though..... it has made my phone reboot ever since froyo days. Whenever I do something ram intensive on that launcher, my phone reboots. I never experience that with others like launcher pro. And how the app drawer doesn't sort properly is a pain. Thanks for the help though..

The 4.5 comes from the fact that it was a modified version of 4. This launcher automatically comes configured with the stay in ram feature selected- it's been awhile but I am sure that Launcherpro has that feature as well, but it is by default off. Try disabling that and see if it just fc's the launcher (thus resulting in a restart of the launcher) as opposed to your phone crashing. Thats really the only thing that would separate it from other launchers. You can turn the 3d effects off as well to help with the ram. I always make sure to kill passive processes- then again I do not use octane so I am not sure how it runs.
I never had problems with the app drawer. You can change the sorting preferences in the preferences menu of the launcher. It is by default on unrestricted, but you can change it to alphabetical.

I tried turning that off, launcher won't even open anymore so I had to reinstall it. Tried running it for a day but it just doesn't work on my phone which is currently running valahlla final. I have the app drawer set to alphabetical but it still doesn't sort properly. If I install a lot of new apps or delete a lot of apps, there are lots of blank spaces and the only way to get rid of the spaces is to manually move each app one by one which is really a big pain. I just want stock touchwiz 4. I hope someone can get it to work on this phone. After playing with my brother's galaxy s 2, none of the launchers on the market feel anywhere close to that smooth.

Yeah go launcher is pretty good. Still isn't as fast as launcher pro though. I really wish we had a stock touchwiz 4 launcher for this phone. Tw4.5 freezes too much and no other launcher out there really comes close to how fluid tw4 is. I've tried like every launcher in the market too.

I've asked this before myself and from what I've been told there is no way to just add TW4 to any ROM. I think it needs to be cooked into a ROM and a whole bunch of stuff needs to be tweaked to get it to work properly. Obviously IMNUTS would be able to answer this way better than me.
Other than infinity, I know the old version of eclipse runs TW4, but its way outdated.
Yeah that's what imnuts said. He said he cooked his is. It would be nice if someone ported just the launcher without the stuff of tw 4.5

Go launcher themes change how stuff looks, not how the launcher functions.
I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a way to enable vertical scrolling in the app drawer on the stock blurhome launcher? I love the speed/stability of the stock launcher but the horizontal scrolling drives me nuts!!:banghead:

but to answer your question, you might post this in development and someone might be able to make a custom ROM for you. I dunno...I have my phone themed towards ICS...that's how I don't deal with it. But i do really like MotoBlur.
