Mail.apk - No lock/password for exchange - HTC Sensation

I found this over at the Evo 3D forums. I changed the files, so that the classes.dex now are in the Sensations mail.apk from official HTC RUU 1.35.401.1
You DO need to remove any excange accounts before flashing/pushing this.
You can login after that.
Now tell me if its working for you. I fogot my password, so I cant test it now.
Chears.
Found this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193852

Do you do that because the issue that you have to use a password for screenlock even if that is not set in the default rule? Because this is an issue just with the default rule, if you create a New rule then it will work! Had this already with my tab andere that solved the issue.

I was hoping this would change the fact that I have to type a password when I use my exchange on my phone.

Are you an exchange admin, or can you talk to the admin who is responsible for it? He just need to create a new rule and set it to not force for password. It will NOT work with the default one!

tested on RCMix 2.2 (sensation/desire hd edition)...
replaced mail.apk , removed exchange account.
re-added exchange account, accepted security terms and its perfect.
no forced pin lock.. (i can now use symbol lock)
but works 100% so far.

Email app w/o Exchange Security (works on EE4)

Found this when I had my Epic but doesn't work as it originally was posted where I got it (I think this thread).
DEODEXED ROMs ONLY!!!
Rename the .apk to OzEmail.apk instead of Email.apk and replace it in /system/app.
Working just fine for me
Or... use the attached and replace in /system/app.
As is usually the case with all things root related, proceed with caution and at your own risk.
Good to have. Thanks! If anyone is interested as well, I use Enhanced Email, which has a checkbox option to disable Exchange Security during email setup. I can keep my phone out of the hands of evildoers just fine without needing to enter a PIN every 15 minutes.
SO will this allow me to receive email from an exchange server email address? Like..... HP.com
If you could access it through the stock Email app, then yes.
This just disables any security features that hp.com or .... enforce so that you don't have to enter a password (enforced by exchange security) each time you wake the phone.

install mutliple email applications

Hi,
Is there any issue about installing different email applications, so that each handle separately the various email accounts ?
To be more specific, I'd like to install a specific email application to handle a Exchange email account -application like Libre Email, which bypasses the pin lock security enforcement . While I would keep standard email application from android ICS to handle my other email accounts. And of course, target is to avoid that my Infinity gets "pin locked" due to the Exchange account.. Or is there a risk that the standard ICS email client detects another email app has an exchange account and would thus enforce the pin lock ?
NB: if any one knows an app which would restrict the pin lock to only when opening the Exchange email account, without forcing me to enter a pin every time I want to access my tablet, I'd be glad..
ricorico94
You can lock specific applications with Asus app that comes preinstalled with Infinity tablet..i don't know what the name of the app is as i don't have a tablet with me right now, but it is there. App locker or something. Does pretty much what you would like...
But if I lock the usual email app, will I be able to still use it ? I mean that my plan would be to used a specific email app for my exchange account but still use the standard email app for my usual accounts.
I think that is true.
Every app has its own settings, don't see a problem here.
I think you can safely use E-mail app that comes with android for one type of account and TouchDown for exchange account..
At least i think that's a way it works. Both have different settings and accounts of course.
Thanks for the clarification.
I found this topics http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117452 in the samsung threads. Could the patch work on my TF700T (9.4.5.22) ? Or are email.apk different on the various devices ?
Yeah you can. That is a simple android feature they have had since day one.

Mail Exchange Policy - ViperOneS

Installing ViperOneS 2.1.0 I noticed and selected an additional feature for mail exchange accounts. I hoped that it will let me to cheat Exchange account Administrator and remove requirements for PIN and/or encryption.
Could someone explain this feature to me, how to find and use it, please?

Adding Google account without Gmail on Gingerbread?

There is a problem that prevent me from using my Gingerbread device. In fact, when I try to add and Google Account on my 2.3.6 ME860, unlike in the 4.1.2 where you can simply enter the non-Gmail email address and sync with your Google Account, in Gingerbread, when I enter the same thing, they say that the user name (and not the email address) is not belong to any Gmail account ended with @gmail.X. So, I attempted to enter my username that is used in my Google Account with the non-Gmail email adress. Therefore, obviously, it doesn't work. So, what can I do? Do I really need to create a VIP gmail email account especially for this phone. More, the most weird thing is that in the past I used to use this phone with the same Google account that I use now with my 4.1.2 phone (the same that I try to login with right now) and I remembered that I can do it without any problem.:crying:

No, you don't have to create any new account. A single account can be synced and used up on multiple Androids at the same time.
Do you have any custom ROM installed? And please mention your device. A few screenshots of the App drawer and Settings would help a little here, for me to understand.

[4.4] Exchange Pin Security Bypass

I could successfuly apply the exchange security bypass method mentioned in the below post.

I haven't been able to test these yet, but If someone wants to check report back. If not I will check tomorrow. Stock email and exchange apks with the pin bypassed.
Backup your current email and exchange apks including their odexed files and push these to system/app, set permissions, and reboot.
Exchange2Google.apk - 1.12 MB
EmailGoogle.apk - 4.81 MB

This has been posted in the Nexus 5 section but I'm running AT&T 4.4 leak with latest OTA, have followed the instructions and it works
Edit: you need to be rooted as you're going to replace system apps

Yes it does. Just download the files to your phone, rename the current files in System/app to Email.apk.bak and Exchange2.apk.bak. Copy these new files to System/app and rename them to Email.apk and Exchange2.apk, then set permissions to 644 or rw-r-r. Then reboot. Solid Explorer works great for doing all of this directly on the phone.
For some reason now when I go to add account, there are 3 options for Corporate, but they all do the same thing. Other than that it works like a champ with security disabled. I tried the Xposed modules but couldn't get any of them to work, this worked first try.
Weird. I tried that exactly and couldn't get it to work. The email app didn't show up. I'll give it another shot.
Edit. Tried it again and it still didn't work. Not sure why.
I'll give it a try!

Anyone else with VZW that was able to get this working? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Edit: I'm an idiot and had the permissions wrong. Too much turkey apparently.
FYI Exposed Module "Exchange Bypass for Xposed [1.6]" works on MotoX 4.4.2
Try Enhanced Email instead of stock mail app.. it has saved my life: company mail/ calendar sync with native(!!) agenda -w/o the pain of company policy restrictions..
Mail wise also works with built in exchange security bypass. But it's in beta. Who knows how much they'll charge for it when beta ends and if the exchange bypass will remain.

Personally: I stick with Enhanced Email, because it provides beside company policy bypass also integration of exchange calendar with my native calendar app on my Android.. As my secretary puts all my appointments in my exchange agenda, for me a very convenient way to see all my private and work appointments on one place..

I tried the Exchange Security Bypass for Nexus devices & AOSP by shantzg001... doesn't work. I think.
It still says device admin still require a PIN. I can, of course, go to device admin and disable Email there, but that beats the purpose, no?
Bottomline: how exactly do I run this module? lol
