I have installed Rerware's MyBookmarks and find it a useful tool to delete the preinstalled bookmarks and then install my own.
The problem is that when it wants to download the bookmarks, my Device ID shows up as: 000000000000000. (15 zeroes).
How can I edit my Device ID so that the app thinks my tablet is my phone, as that is the ID I used when I used the app on my phone?
I'm hoping it is a file I can edit and just change the ID. Any ideas?
Thanks.
did you ever figure this out? i'm having the same problem

Hi All,
I'm planning to move from Windows mobile to Android, but I have a few questions.
How about my textmessages, they are now saved on my device. Is there any way to place them on my sim card again. Or is there a backup program out there with wich I can move my text messages to my new android based phone??
I have the same problem with my contacts. There are to many to put them on my sim card. It only allows 33 contacts. Is there a possibility to backup them to my storage card or any other solution.
I always used pim backup for windows mobile, but I think this won't work on android.
I really searched for a solution but couldn't find any
can you please help me
thanks in advance
I've never used this myself, but have heard rave reviews about it. It sounds just like what you need...
http://www.fusionone.com/
Hope it helps!
i'm pretty sure gmail/google sync will handle your contacts no problem...
Use google sync http://www.google.com/mobile/products/sync.html#p=winmo It will transfer all your contacts to your gmail account, then use google sync on your android. As for txt messages I don't know why you would need to save them from one phone to the other. Try to foward them to your self via email on your winmo phone.
Thank you all for you're reply's
I just tried google sync but can't get it to work on my device.
I get the following error : 0x85010004
I googled for it but couldn't find a solution.
The program "johncmolyneux" named in his post is sadly enough only for paid users.
I found one other program wich could work, it's called: spritemigrate
http://www.spritesoftware.com/products/migrate/how-does-it-work-
Does anyone know this program, or does anyone have a solution for the google sync problem.
would be much appreciated
It seems that every android app has a unique app ID. I've found a couple of "modified" apps that share the same ID, and one of the problems is that the desktop icons can't stick in the desktop position you put them, because this ID is used to identify the app shorcut.
I found this error reported by the homescreen app and the log is stored in a text file in the default android folder for errors (I can't remeber the name). So I know for sure that the problem is the ID. Where is this app ID stored and how can i modify it?
Thank you!
Please help!
When I sync my contacts with google I dont get the number and the number info is shown in additional info (attachment). So is there any way I could edit the phone's contact database and copy phone number to phone number column. or if there is any other solution I will be grateful.
I don't have this issue and all my contacts are synced with Google. Perhaps it's the ROM version you're using?
After messing with sql and trying to edit contacts2.db I had a brilliant idea of copying contacts2.db from my nandroid backup . All is well now...
Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me out. I have my work email setup on my phone using their webmail address. If I use the standard address, i am required to have Maas360 installed, which is not an option with me being rooted. Anyways, if I have the email program I use, which is either Nine or Mail Wise, setup for ActiveSync, my business server will catch it and block me. So, I have to setup the email app to scan for new emails every X minutes.
The problem I am running into, is I did not know that I had to have ActiveSync turned off, so now my device is banned when using Nine mail. So, I tried the same with Mail Wise, and got banned again. Now, on my third app, AquaMail, I have realized the problem, and its working great. However, I would prefer to use Nine mail. When trying to go back into Nine and recreate my account, i get an error that my device is blocked. I get the same error on Mail Wise. Both list a different Device ID. NineXXXXXXX and MailWiseXXXXXXXX. Is there a way to change this ID? I tried creating a new ID in Titanium Backup and that didn't change the IDs in the mail apps.
Thanks to anyone who can help!
you could ask the app developer (he should know it^^) or ask you sys admin. Normally it isn't that hard to unblock a phone (had done that enough).
I tried that. Sent an email a few days ago and haven't heard back.
Do you got a solution? I have the same problem, thx
Reply after very long time, but maybe could help someone else...
Nine email device ID is stored in a text file /data/data/com.ninefolders.hd3/deviceName. Could be changed with root rights. Changes become effective after re-start of Nine
Hey man, i'm in the same boat.
Thanks so much for sharing the solution.
Can you help me how to setup Nine so that it doesn't get blocked again?
Bump
Bump. I have the same issue. Any solution for non-rooted phones?

I recently tried to give Nine a DeviceID by amending this file. The Device ID is saved in the file, but Nine is always announcing the hexadecimal equivalent of that ASCII Device ID to the server. So if your approved ID by the server is in hex format, you can reverse it and put that into the file.
If not (which is my case), I would appreciate anyone who can indicate if there is a string that enforces Nine to keep the Device ID of the file without hex-transformation...
So I got the following problem:
I backed the app line with titanium backup up, but ended up with the problem that I couldnt restore line without deleting the settings in /data/data/... sql as for security reasons. By deleting those settings, the app forces you to log in again into your account, just that the problem is, I never set an email for my line account. So I looked a bit around the internet and found a solution where I need the android id, to skip the email part and just log in with my phone number. I made a nandroid backup, is it possible to extract the android id out of this backup?

Hello & welcome to xda-assist,
as you asked something very app specific I'd recommend you to contact line support for verification help, I don't think it's possible to bypass the security check so easily, I mean you might be able to extract the ID from your backup but the next question is how does line request the ID to see if they match, so you would also need a way to hide the actual ID and push the other ID to the place or folder where line is usually access this information, if you know what a mean..
This all goes deeply into bypassing justified security measures and manipulating official software, I'd call it hacking and it's not that we support this things here on xda-developers..
Best for you is to get in touch with line support and see if they might be able to help..
Good luck
Edit: just stumbled upon something potentially interesting for you, if you are rooted you could try this one
